  • Preinstall mode question

    SunOS 5.10
    DB 11.2.0.2.3
    EBS R12.1.3
I am reviewing the readMe's for some patches I may be applying to an EBS R12 environment.
The readMe's say to apply the patch in preinstall mode.
From the reading I have done about adpatch and preinstall mode it seems that you would normally use preinstall mode for example, when you are upgrading from 11i to R12.
It seems that each patch run in preinstall mode is staged rather than applied and only applied once the upgrade is complete. Have I read the documentation correctly?
My question is this, if I am already on an R12 environment should I be installing these patches in preinstall mode as the readMe says or as normal "preinstall mode=n"?
    Thanks in anticipation.

It seems that each patch run in preinstall mode is staged rather than applied and only applied once the upgrade is complete. Have I read the documentation correctly?adpatch will copy the files to your $APPL_TOP which used by the main ugrade patch driver.
Please see "Pre-Install Mode" section in http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18727_01/doc.121/e12148/T531058T531062.htm#5281339 for details.
My question is this, if I am already on an R12 environment should I be installing these patches in preinstall mode as the readMe says or as normal "preinstall mode=n"?Usually, you should not apply the patch in preinstall mode if you are already on R12 and you will need to apply it manually unless you were instructed to do so by the patch README file. Please always refer to the patch README file for the correct mode you need to use.
    Thanks,

  • Checking Form Modes in a single jsp page

    Hi
I am developing a web application using ADF BC, struts and JSP technologies.
I use JDeveloper 10.1.3. I need to check the mode which my form goes through; for example, if I am in the create mode, I can disable Delete and Find buttons
and etc..Is there any code or property that would let me check the Foem Modes and act correspondingly??

the only way would be to change the header and navigation includes that you have, so that they generate a correct html page when included.
I would probably remove the head tag from the navigation stuff.
Although javascript functions SHOULD be declared in the head tags, they normally do work elsewhere on the page.
The page will probably still take a long time to load, even if you get the page formatted correctly - I would look more at the javascript functions running which would slow down the page.

  • X2-10GB-LX4 Mode Conditioning Patch or Not 62.5micron Fiber

I keep reading different things across the web.  We are swapping out our SUP 720's with the newer VSS Sup 720's for the VSS technology.  During the process we are going to start bringing 10Gb in.  We have an existing FDDI (62.5 Micron MM) fiber plant.  We purchased these with the X2-10GB-LX4 fiber modules designed to do 300m over 62.5 Micron fiber...  Do we need a mode conditioning patch cord on each end?  It would seem Cisco says yes or use the GBIC over single mode?  I thought this was a multi-mode X2 module...  I'm quite confused!!!

If you use the X2-10GB-LX4 transciever with 62.5 micron MMF, you need a Mode Conditioning Patchcord (MCP), part number CAB-GELX-625= or similar, on each end.
The -LX4 module it designed for MMF.  In order to get a 10G signal through 300m of multimode fiber (which was originally designed for short, low bit rate paths) the LX4 module engineers used 4 coupled laser transmitters to send the information through the fiber.  The Mode Conditioning Patchcords focus this laser light into the optimum section of the multimode fiber's core, so that it can reach the distant receiver and be successfully decoded.
This module, without the use of the MCPs, can be used on singlemode fiber (SMF).  But, this module is more expensive that a standard SMF transceiver (LR or LRM) due to its use of 4 lasers and the WDM multiplexing integrated into the transceivers.
    Does this help at all?

  • SFP and Mode Conditioning Patch Cable

Is it safe to assume any SFP designed for single mode fiber  (i.e., MGBLH1) can work with multi-mode fiber if using a mode conditioning patch cable?

It should work. The "mode conditioner" adds a loss in your optical link, typically 2 db.
If you want be sure you must do a link budget.
    Regards.

  • How to Check ADI Version With Patch Number?

how to Check ADI Version With Patch Number?

    Hi,
To find-out the version of 'Web ADI' , there are two methods
    Method : 1
+. Login to Oracle E-business Suite and using 'Web ADI' , create a Document.
+. When Excel is launched with the created Document, a Menu is created on the Toolbar in Excel called Oracle (in between Data and Window).
+. From the Oracle menu select "About". A pop up window is displayed with the version of 'Web ADI' (something like 8.x.x.x)
    Method : 2
+. Login into E-business Suite as System Administrator
+. Once the Home Page is up, paste the URL below into the same Browser window (replace hostname, domain and portnumber as applicable)
    BNE ADMIN Servlet for 11i
    http://hostname:portnumber/oa_servlets/oracle.apps.bne.framework.BneAdminServlet
    BNE ADMIN Servlet for 12

  • SAPInst prerequisite checker unattended mode?

    Hi research community,
i posted a thread in [SAP NetWeaver Administrator|SAPInst prerequisite checker unattended mode?; regarding the SAPInst prerequisite checker. Perhaps the research community can help me as well, with my question. The question i raised was:
i'm wondering, if there is an unattended mode for the pre-requisite checker of SAPInst. I know, it sounds a little bit strange in the first way, but i want to use it automatically for checking SAP NetWeaver deployment models. Is there something like that? And how can i use it or find more additional information?
    Thanks in advance,
    Sebastian

Thanks for your reply. I read the SAP Note, you posted, it was interesting but i think it did not answer my question. The point is, that i want to use the standalone prerequisite checker unattended, like running the SAPInst in unattended mode. The use case is that i have a model for the layout of my system deployment. I asekd myself, why not using the prerequisite checker of SAPInst to validate that model? But i do not want to edit the configuration manually in the SAPInst prerequisite checker dialogs. So is there a way to run it unattended by using my model and transform it into a format SAPInst understands? It would be a nice feature, i think.
    Thx

Can you tell me how to check how to check in R12 if HR is mode is installed or not ?

  • Checking daylight savigns time patch

I have to make a 10.1.0.3 oracle home to migrate a database that i am not allowed to upgrade. If I remember correctly from when we all had to apply the daylight savings time patch, there is a query to check to see if this is applied correctly. I can't find it on the web.
    can someone post it?

"opatch lsinventory" should tell you what patches are applied to the home.

  • Unknown Client Check passed Active after patching

I have just deployed an software update for my clients. It seems to me at first a lot of client where in the Progress tab stating "downloading updates". When I came back the next day, most of the clients are in the Unkown tab stating "Client
check passed / Active". How can I make the clients compliant?

Just out of curiosity - this looks like an update deployment, have you checked the compliance in the reporting section (assuming you have one setup)?  I have been noticing that our patch groups are showing similar behavior where more state "Client
check passed/Active" just like you're seeing, but our compliance reports are showing different numbers.

  • Offline files - check client mode

Hi, how can I check Offline Files mode on client computer.
I would like to know if the Offline Files are in Online, Slow Link, Auto Offline or Manually Offline mode.
Is it possible to check it with Powershell or something ?
Can I maybe write a script which will ask all my clients in the domain for Offline Files mode ?
    Thank you very much.

    Hi,
I cannot find a PowerShell command that can achieve this. We can run the “gpresult /h report.html” in the command prompt to check if “Configure slow-link mode” policy is applied on clients.
