Nah... From what I understand, virtualization allows more than one OS to run simultaneously without emulators (Like Virtual PC, etc.) that bog down the works.
As I use Mac for my Graphic Design biz, I'm waiting for Intel to enable virtualiztion on the next gen Intel Macs so I can do XP (for gaming & some apps where there's no Mac equivalent) & OSX (for work).

I resolved the issue.
The problem is indeed a permissions issue with the Adobe Application Support folder.
First, in MAC OS Lion the ~/Library/ folder is hidden by default. You must unhide it in order to proceed. (if it is already visible in your ~/User/ folder, proceed to Step 4.)
Next launch the Terminal application.
At the command line, paste the following command line: chflags nohidden ~/Library/
Go to /Users/youruserid/Library/Application Support/Adobe
Get info on the ~/Adobe folder and reset your permissions to read/write and apply to all enclosed folders

PearPC is a Mac emulator. It creates a virtual Mac on the Windows box, similar to (but the opposite of) Microsoft's Virtual PC for Mac.
I'd guess it's slow and unreliable, but certainly possible.

HTT x4 , i try`d les aggressive timings and lower HTT but 255 is the max with 3.3 vdimm, unless i get a booster they wont go further.... not worth it, might as well get a Gig of something that can match these speed ands timings.... Well thats what im hoping anyway.

Having Problems with InContext?.... check this out

Hey guys... check it out.. Do your research & you'll quickly learn that i was the #1 proponent of InContext... period!!! I answered more questions for Adobe.. for FREE than anyone.... I'm a little upset to say the least.
I'm coming up with a script that will convert any existing InContext site to a PageLime site with a click of a button.
Based on the overwhelming number of email from those of you interested, I thought I'd write this up real quick.

Their Video Demo tutorial pretty much sums it up.
In the meanwhile, the easiest thing to do is a simple "Search and Replace" from within Dreamweaver.
Basically, the simple PageLime interface only requires two things.
A unique ID
Any Class name
All it needs is an 'id" and a "class"....
For consistency, I give all mine the same class. It works even if you add it as a secondary pseudo. Here's some examples of the code:

Delete function--check this out

hey I pretty much just started with Ipod and Itunes.
The first time you delete a song from your Ipod or Itunes library it prompts you to let you know you are deleting something and make sure you're not accidentally you're deleting something you want. Underneath that theres a small checkbox and next to the box it says "Check this box to not recieve this message again," or something to that effect. Stupid me, I checked this box and now its really easy to delete files from my Ipod, if I accidentally hit backspace or delete it deletes the song forever. luckily i have most these files backed up. Still I would like to return to the default setting of having Itunes prompt me before I delete a file...is there any easy way of doing this?

Can you trust System Profiler? Check this out.

Looking at the system profiler i was concerned about my battery capacity so i installed Coconut battery to check it as well.

Well, beyond the discrepancy in battery parameters, I'm trying to figure out how you got version 2.3 of Coconut Battery? From what I can tell by visiting both the VersionTracker page and the developer's site (http://www.coconut-flavour.com/coconutbattery/index.html), Coconut Battery is currently at version 2.2.
What's up with that?

Hi everyone. So, just by scanning the discussions here, there are numerous complaints about low battery life (whether it's software or hardware). Some people are getting outstanding life, and that's great, but for the rest of us, 5 hours of usage may not be enough.
In one of the other discussions, we've created an 8-hour audio test with certain criteria so that we can compare results and check for consistency. Because of the length of duration, I'd personally recommend running it overnight, and if you're interested in checking out the test, the link is here:

My 3G iPad has incredible battery life, here's what I've done today.
6:10am 100% battery life
6:10am - 7:05am Read email, surfed and DL'ed Dropbox and ABC (WiFi) 0.55h 94% battery left
7:05am - 9:10am Watched a movie "Shooter" 2:05h 71% battery left
9:20am - 11:26am Watched a movie "Star Trek" 2:06h 48% battery left
11:26am-11:45am Lunch (Pizza Bread, bottle-water and chips)
11:55pm - 12:15pm Read email, surfed (WiFi) 1:20h 42% battery left
12:15pm - 2:31pm Watched a movie "Sling Blade" 2:14h 19% battery left
Now writing this from my iPad....Wow, thats 7.5 hours usage and still have 19% battery life left.
Thats right I've had a free day today!!!
My goal is to run the battery completely down until it shuts off. Now it's time to watch last weeks "Lost" episode on the ABC (WiFi) app.....I'll write back later to let you know what's left on the battery.

2:35pm - 3:50pm Surfed (3G) and 11MB's 1:15h 10%
3:50pm - 4:33pm Watched "Lost" ABC app (WiFi) 0:46h 3% battery left
9 hours with 3% battery left, I think I could go another 30-45 minutes, but I'll spare you the details.
I'm happy to get 9+ hours on a single charge with the brightness at about 75-80%.

Yea, I agree with whats going on in this thread...at first I was having problems too with the same board (new to MSI and AMD) but did some research and raised the chipset memory a wee little bit (hardocp review had it at 1.75v to get to a 375fsb - wow). I am glad to see you didn't make the mistake I made and went with better memory especially if you plan to oc. I was on a tight budget at the time and am getting decent results now for the ram that I have at the price I got it at ($86). The bios may have some issues with the ht multiplier but when I raised the chipset voltage, i got over this 219 hump and can post up to 225 with ht mult set at 5 (others told me not to go past 1000 htt while others said I should be able to go to 1100 htt - who knows). Well, it all comes down to performance and at 222 with the ht mult set at 3, 4 or 5 doesn't change my 3d and pc marks much as you see below. I think the sweet spot is anywhere between 600 and 900 htt setting.
I was really eyeing the ram that you bought and would love to see some of your test results before I go out and buy the same ram...-- -- need sunglasses when I look left on your posts though...lol

Check this out: making a copy of an array of objects

I have an array of objects called Figs of type Figure and I am making a copy of this array called OriginalFigs so later when Figs change, I can use the original values stored in OriginalFigs.
But I found out that when values in Figs change, values in OriginalFigs also change.
I tried to store values in Vector too but even in Vector values are changing.
seems like they both are storing reference to Figs and when Figs change , they(Vector and OriginalFigs) chnage too.
Is there any way to come around this problem?

how do you copy them - if you use the method from Object(? was it there, never use this), you will get a shallow copy - that is a new object with the same references in it - not a new object with new objects of the figures in it.
How about providing a methode in your figure-objects which can do a total copy? - This must be easy as so you know how to construct such an object efficiently.
Another way to hold a copy is to write the figures out to a stream temporarily - all objects are serializable and so they can be stored to a stream - but your figures should not have references to other parts of the program in it, because the serialisation-process tries to serialize all references the object has, that is to be serialized. If there is for exampe a link to the main JFrame in it, the serialisation process tries to store your hole program to the stream and this may be impossible - I hat this with parts of a JTree that refuse to be stored to a stream.

I THINK SOMETHING HAS ENTERED MY E-MAIL AND TAKING ADDRESSES. hOW TO i CHECK THIS OUT?

I'm getting e-mails that look like they are from some one in my address book but are not. A check of the source shows that isis not from the legitimate member of my address book.
Just now I attempted to reply to an e-mail and got a blacked out dialogue box with a strange message at the top, sometimes in what looks like Asian calligraphy. Now, when I open an e-mail the dialogue box opens, closes and opens a second time in a blink of an eye. How do I find out what it is and get rid of it. My anti virus does not pick up a problem.

If email is not from who it is pretending to be from - do not repond to it. Do not click on any links in the email. Delete the email. then compact the folder to remove all traces.
Send an email to your friend teling them someone is abusing their email address. Ask them to use a signature in their emails so you can easily tell it is genuine.

Automation Phreaks -- Check This Out

I've been doing a TON of plugin automation lately (i.e., EXS attack/release times). To facilitate this I've set up a key command to enable/disable plugin automation (changes are reflected in the automation prefs). While the key command does the job just fine, there's no visual feedback unless you open the prefs pane. So I have another key command to view automation prefs, and I'll view the prefs when I've lost track of whether I've enabled or disabled plugin automation.
There are other key commands that let you enable/disable the other automatable functions such as send, solo, etc., and this is extremely cool. However, if you lose track of whether a particular automation function is enabled/disabled, you have to open the prefs pane to check.
So maaaaaan would I love to see this in "a future version of Logic":

I'm finding that I need to access these parameters continually.
Here's an example...
I want to ride an EQ's cut/boost. So I enable plugin automation and do my ride. Then I think "maybe I should use a wider Q" so I disable plugin automation and while the track plays back I adjust my Q setting. I don't want to write those moves on the Q; I just want to play with the Q setting and settle on a static value for it.
Then a half-hour later I want to tweak the attack on an EXS patch, but I don't know what the right value should be. But do I remember from 1/2 hour ago if I disabled the plugin automation? Nope! So I have to check...
Sure enough, it's off. So I tweak my attack time. When I find the right value I enable plugin automation, write the attack ride, then disable it again.
So particularly with plugins, as well as sends (to name two) there are times you want to play with settings (but not write them) and other times when you want to deliberately write them. Hence, having these parameters visible would certainly speed up the creative process and make it more intuitive.
It's in the preferences, not the song settings for a reason. People might get confused when they saved a song with them all off, only to find they are magically all on again next time they load the song. <<</div>
I know it's not in the song settings, and there's no need for it to be IMO. They're fine being "global" settings. And if the enable/disable status of the different automatable parameters were always visible (as in my mockup above) then there should be no confusion.
But I have to say... sure, there are many things about Logic that are baffling and mysterious, all the more reason for bringing them up front.
One final thought... Automation isn't, for me, a bell/whistle --- it's an essential part of my work. For comparison, my digital mixer has its automation filters plainly visible so you can enable/disable things on the fly with visible feedback. Would like that for Logic.
