'Check to see if plug ins are up to date' not working

The 'Check to see if your plug ins are up to date' link on the Add-ons Manager page is not working correctly. The link opens on Mozilla Student Reps page. I'm using Firefox 12.0

The problem has been reported as Bug 752161. You can open the Plugin Check page manually by going to the link below.

I have had this problem for a few days, no sound in Firefox, but IE and WMP (offline) have sound, this is a Firefox ONLY problem, so the volumes are all set correctly and the drivers and needed files are there, I've tried every fix that people have suggested on Google like checking the flash player settings, creating the "missing.reg" registry file and importing it, etc...
nothing works, I may just have to switch to Safari or Chrome, I watch a lot of video online (Youtube, ESPN3, NFL.com, etc.) so this is a huge problem...

If i go to Tools > Addons and click on the "Check to see if your plugins are up to date" link, it gives me an error
"Plugin Finding Service Error
We've encountered an error. Please try your request again later."
The link is sending me to https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
If i manually navigate to http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ it works fine.
Therefore the link to the secure protocol has broken

Plug-ins are up to date, but Firefox plug-in checker shows them as out of date.

The plug-ins checker shows Flash to be out-of-date, but Adobe's plug-in checker shows that I am up-to-date. Also Firefox's about:plugins page shows that my Flash is the correct version. I have erased the pluginreg.dat file and it did not solve the problem. Any other suggestions or is this your plug-ins checker again?

Your installed Flash 11.3.300.257 version is the latest available for Mac, so that is OK.
There only has been released a Flash 113.300.262 update for the Windows platform.<br />
So it looks that the plugin check page doesn't take your platform into account.

Firefox Check Your Plugins found "unknown plug-ins". My other plug-ins are up to date. To keep Firefox running safely and smoothly can the "unknowns" be safely uninstalled? How do I know if I need them? Where do they come from?

I cannot say with certainty any plugins known or unknown installed on my computer are problematic. My other plugins are up to date. "Unresponsive Scripts" comes up quite often. No particular website, Grooveshark and Centurylink more than any others. Are the two (Plug-ins and Scripts) related?

option discovered in preferences. Really this and any feature that moves deletes or edits a users data should as far as possible be OFF BY DEFAULT. It shouldn't by default and without the users specific say do this dangerous and unnecessary thing without even letting the user know what it's doing!!! And then cause me a few hours (as i'm new to mac) searching for the option so as to switch it off. If i hadn't noticed the status cage declaring that it was copying files then i might never have twigged that this insane thing was occurring. And if i hadn't of noticed i would have been left maintaining the contents of the folder i copied the files to, the folder which as far as i was informed and so believed was also the location of the music files i was playing. How does Apple justify this 'genius' piece of software non-design? Surely it will hurt no one if this was off by default for new users - overall at least i dare say it would cause a lot less distress in the future for the unsuspecting public at large. Plug-in page tells me all plug-ins are up to date, but I keep getting error messages from Firefox telling me they are not and are unstable

I keep getting error messages stating that my Adobe Flash is out of date and vulnerable. I go to the Add-ons Manager, click "update" and it takes me to the plug-in page which shows it's up to date!! Same with Java DT and Shockwave Flash. How can I update if I have the latest versions already!?! I am inclined to just allow the plug-ins to work but don't want my pc to become vulnerable. Please help!

hello Danagriz, unfortunately the plugin check page lags behind. adobe has released a critical patch for a vulnerability in its flash plugin, which is reportedly already exploited in the wild. therefore firefox will block insecure versions from running by default on websites for your protection.

please update to Adobe Flash Player version 16.0.0.235 as soon as possible, which you can download from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html (use the windows-exe for plugin-based browsers).
in order to update java, go to java.com (or if you don't need the plugin you can also uninstall it though the windows control panel)

Plug ins are in folder but not in iMovie

I have updated plug ins for my iMac running imovie 6- and copied them to my laptop G4 running iMovie 6-they appear in the user/library/imovie/plug-in folder, but are not in my iMovie app. on the laptop. Am I missing something?

Tutorials on the Apple Website play in Safari and Chrome, but not always in Firefox. Java and Flash plug ins are up to date.

I was trying to play the Time Machine video tutorial on the Apple Website (I have an imac 10.6.6) and it won't play in Firefox, but it will in Safari and Chrome. This has happened before but then seemed to fix itself. Other videos (Youtube for eg.) play fine. All plugs (Java and Flash) are up to date. Just wondering why this could happen.

Pandora is causing Firefox 21 to crash. All plug-ins are up to date.

When I use Pandora, while using Firefox 21, the browser crashes. I have all of my plug-ins up to date. Firefox has sent crash reports.

Pandora may work differently in Firefox 21, because sites now can use the built-in HTML5 audio player to decode MPEG media. Previously Firefox did not support that, so the stream was played using the Flash player plugin.

It's easily reversed the same way. If you try it, please let us know whether it helps.

Plug-ins in Color Efex do not work when used with Lightroom? really need help

Dear all,
I am suffering the problem with some plug-ins (some others still okey) of Color Efex when I use them with Lightroom. Specifically, the image I chose to edit in Color Efex turned black as I tried to apply a plug-in, ex Detail extractor. Pls see the pic below:

I emailed Nik team and it is just exact as what you said, they are very helpful and supportive when provide me several of solutions. Thank god one amongst them solves my issue completely. I performed the following steps:
If you are able to open Color Efex Pro 4and can see part of the interface, see if you can click on the"Settings" button in the lower left.
In Settings locate the section "GPU" and expand it, in this section you will see a check box "Enable GPU Processing", uncheck this so the GPU will be disabled, then close the settings window.
Close out of Color Efex Pro 4 (click Cancel), quit out of any and all host applications (Photoshop,Lightroom, Aperture), and then relaunch Color Efex Pro 4 to see if this corrects this issue.

Java 7 Update 25 does not work consistently with FF 23.0.1 running in Mac OS 10.8.4. All plug-ins are up to date. Why?

2013 iMac running Mac OS 10.8.4 & FF 23.0.1. When I attempt to access a site (usually a city government site) that requires Java, the applet runs, but the content fails to appear. Sometimes if I play with the various plugins, close FF and restart it, I can get the content to appear. But that tactic does not always work. Besides, it is annoying to have to shut down the program and then go back to the search results I was using to see IF it will work.

My add-ons manager can't tell if plug-ins are up to date or let me update them.

I can't work with any of my plugins because the plugin check says the status of all my plugins is "unknown," and offers no action except the "?research" option. I can't uninstall them, either.
I am trying to make google hangouts work with firefox, and I think I need to be able to remove or update old google voice/video plugins to do that. But I can't get at them.

Does Google have any "uninstaller" or "updater" for its stuff?
If you don't mind deleting those plugin files by hand, you can get the locations from a different page. Type or paste '''about:plugins''' in the address bar and press Enter. For each plugin file, the physical location should be listed. Note that some folders may be hidden and in order to reach those, you may want to copy as much as possible of the path (not including the final file name) and paste that into Finder to drill down into the hidden folders.

Many Mozilla pages that were on mozilla.com have since been either changed to or is being redirected to mozilla.org and sometimes issues have arisen.

Need help checking 2 see if my plugins are up 2 date- page where I find info says "click update"- I can't find where 2 click

My Firefox keeps crashing when I have windows open that use Shockwave Flash player, and today my CPU is up in the 30-40% range. I went to the page where I should be able to make sure I have the latest version of the plugin (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/) and it says "click update..." but I can't figure out where to click. I'm running Windows 7. I'd appreciate any help anyone can give me. Thanks in advance!
