Checking voicemail fr/ remote location
Hi! This seems like such an obvious question, but I don't know the answer to it: How do I check my voicemail messages from a different phone?
Also, I was told that one could not get answer tones with the iPhone. But then I heard of someone who had them. My second question is, is there really NO way to get answer tones for the iPhone?
Thanks!
Place a call to the wireless number and do not answer.
Interrupt the greeting by pressing the star key (*).
When prompted, enter voicemail password. (The default/temporary password is the 7 digit wireless number--no area code.)
Correct!
In some markets you'll have to press '#' instead of '*' though.
And in some cases the default p/w will be the last 4 digits.

Can't open HTML files from local or remote location
Hello Experts,
I've tried deleting my remote location, and adding it back
again several times and I still can't open any HTML files. I can
check out the pages, and check them back in, but nothing shows up
on the screen. Does anyone know what may be causing this? I'd
really like to update my website soon. If I click on the web images
they open up in my photoshop, it's just the Dreamweaver HTML
portions that won't open up.
Thank you,

CLARIFY please.
You said you open them, but design view is blank.
The file is either open or not open
Is the file open? And design view is blank? Or is the file
NOT open and
there are error messages?
If the is open, even if empty design view There should be

Callmanager Conferencing with remote locations Issue
I am new to using callmanager, and I need a little help.
I have created a meet me number on my callmanager. Once a session is begun, all local network users are able to join the conference call with no problems..
If a remote location hosts a meet me call, all my local network users are able to join THAT session with no problems as well.
But if I host a meet me session on MY local network, remote locations CANNOT reach my session. The line remains silent when they dial in.
I've been told to check the codecs which seem fine and we are checking for a firewall issue, but all normal calls local and remote work just fine. It's only the conference bridging that causes issues.
Please help.
ThanksHello,
Thank you very much for replying.
The configurations, I've been told, are correct. G711 for intrasite and G729 for intersite. And region and device pools correct as well.
I presented the HW conf bridge solution to a coworker who said it makes sense, but at this time, I don't have access to a hardware conference bridge. Is this the only solution?

hi,
please check the following on the call manager,
- Check the region configuration on each device pool.
- Then check the region configuration between the two regions.
- One of the best practices followed by Cisco is, the intrasite region settings should be g711.
- And the region settings between inter site should be g729.
- G729 is not supported by software conference bridge, it is only supported by hardware conference bridge.
- So add the hardware conference bridge to the MRGL of the phone.
- And the hardware conference bridge has to be first in the list, that is before the software conference bridge.
please let me know if this helps or we can do further trouble shooting on this issue.

FXO test in Remote Location.
Hi...
I have four routers in a remote location used as an FXO gatway, and its communicating with CM6.1 using MGCP.
Is there a way to check whether the FXO line is connected, and that there is a dial tone available on this port or not?
ThanksThanks..
But what kind of debug message should I expect when making a call to outside - outgoing direction- ?
And does that mean there is no way to check whether the dial tone is available and the connection is UP without calling in or out to that port? It will be easier than calling 10 lines.
Thanks again. -
Accessing Computers Connected to a Time Capsule From a Remote Location
I am already able to access my Time Capsule from a Remote Location and have read/write access to the internal hard drive within the Time Capsule and the USB hard drive connected to it.
My problem is that I cannot access any shared computers or networked hard drives attached to the Time Capsule.
Suggestions are greatly appreciated.If you don't want to use Back to my Mac, you can just use screen sharing. Go into Airport Utility and go the Advanced tab along the top. Then click on port mapping. Set up a new port map to route to the iMac. When I did this, I just used the "Apple Remote Desktop" option from the drop-down menu, this pre-fills everything in for you except for the IP address of the iMac. Just pop the IP address in the field, save the new port map, and Update the TC. Now you should be able to screen share from anywhere with your MacBook Pro using the screen sharing app. The Screen Sharing app is located in /System/Library/CoreServices/ScreenSharing just drag it to the dock to keep it there. When you open it up it will ask you for a host address, just type in the IP address of your time capsule followed by the 5900 port number, for example x.x.x.x:5900 where x.x.x.x is the TC IP address.
Just make sure your iMac is set up for File Sharing, Screen Sharing, and Remote Login, and you should be good to go. Just a word of caution, when the port map is set up, anyone can use it, so set up a good password on your iMac. Also, under the screen sharing pane, click on "Computer Settings" and check both boxes and enter a password in the box. You should not need this because when you try to connect with your MBP, it should give you an option for logging in as an authorized user, in which case just use login info for a user on the iMac.
Just one last thing, if you close the Screen Sharing app and open terminal and enter:
defaults write com.apple.ScreenSharing ShowBonjourBrowser_Debug 1
then hit enter and reopen Screen Sharing, it should give you a list with all your bonjour computers and saved computers, so when you out in your IP address to connect to the iMac, make sure the box for "Add to my Computers" is checked, and it will add the IP address to the list so you don't have to put it in all the time.
Hope this helps,

Rman backup to a remote location
I want to take the rman backup of production database to a remote server.
Means, source and destination servers are located at two different location.
OS: RHEL 4
In metalink, i got the doc id: 292726.1
Could anyone please tell me the detailed steps of "Backup to Remote DISK" heading of meantioned doc or provide me some other useful links ?
Edited by: NKJ on Dec 3, 2008 10:07 AMYou can backup to a remote location assuming you have the remote location appropriately mapped.
However, you may want to check this 10gR2 "database backup" to nfs mounted dir results in ORA-27054 NFS error regarding NFS and RMAN. -
Is it possible to back up my hard drive from a remote location. For instance, we have 5 computers connected together. Can i back up computer A's files from Computer B's TM and its external hard drive?
Thanks for your help.joshua12mac, Welcome to the discussion area!
I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. Let me explain my configuration and maybe that will help you.
I have a USB external drive connected to my iMac. The iMac is connected via Ethernet to my wireless router. My iBook is wirelessly connected to the same router. Time Machine running on the iBook is configured to use the iMac's external drive as the destination for the backup. -
How do I use iCloud to collaborate on a GarageBand project with a remotely located musician?
How do I use iCloud to collaborate on a GarageBand project with a remotely located musician? He is in Valencia, Spain, I am in Green Bay, Wisconsin. We'd like to be able to work on the same GarageBand document together, laying down tracks, etc.
Is there a tutorial I should look at?Are you using GarageBand on a Mac or on an iPad?
With iCloud you can store your GarageBand projects in iCloud, so you can work on the same project on all your iPads, iPods, iPhones, and transfer it from your iDevices to your Mac. But you cannot use iCloud to share a project between people with different AppleIDs.
To send GarageBand projects back and forth, compress the the ":band" files and mail them, if they are small enough or put them in a Dropbox or other cloud storage and mail the link. -
I need helping configuring RDP access to my local server from a remote location on my Cisco ASA 5505 Firewall.
I have attempted to configure rdp access but it does not seem to be working for me Could I please ask someone to help me modify my current configuration to allow this? Please do step by step as I could use all the help I could get.
I need to allow the following IP addresses to have RDP access to my server:
66.237.238.193-66.237.238.222
69.195.249.177-69.195.249.190
69.65.80.240-69.65.80.249
My external WAN server info is - 99.89.69.333
The internal IP address of my server is - 192.168.6.2
The other server shows up as 99.89.69.334 but is working fine.
I already added one server for Static route and RDP but when I try to put in same commands it doesnt allow me to for this new one. Please take a look at my configuration file and give me the commands i need in order to put this through. Also please tell me if there are any bad/conflicting entries.
THE FOLLOWING IS MY CONFIGURATION FILE
Also I have modified IP information so that its not the ACTUAL ip info for my server/network etc... lol for security reasons of course
Also the bolded lines are the modifications I made but that arent working.

ciscoasa(config-network)#Unclear what did not work. In your original post you include said some commands were added but don't work:
static (inside,outside) tcp interface 3389 192.168.6.2 3389 netmask 255.255.255.255
and later you state you add another command that gets an error:
static (inside,outside) tcp 99.89.69.333 3389 192.168.6.2 3389 netmask 255.255.255.255
You also stated that 99.89.69.333 (actually 99.89.69.233, guessing from the rest of your config and other posts) is your WAN IP address.
The first static statement matches Cisco's documentation, which states that a static statement must use the 'interface' directive when you are trying to do static PAT utilizing the IP address of the interface. Since 99.89.69.333 is the assigned IP address of your WAN interface, that may explain why the second statement fails.
Any reason why you are using static PAT (including the port number 3389) instead of just skipping that directive? Static PAT usually makes sense when you need to change the TCP port number. In your example, you are not changing the TCP port 3389. -
How can I get my hp eprint email address from a remote location?
I am currently away from home and need to print something for my wife. I have tested out eprint before but never tried it from a remote location. I cannot recall the email address for my printer. Is there any way to retrieve this without being at the printer? I imagine that I had to sign in to the eprintcenter website to test this so alternatively, is there a way to retrieve the email address I used to set up my eprintcenter account? I am offered a way to retrieve the password but that doesn't help much if I cannot recall my eprintcenter account's email.
Thanks,
JeffHi Epoclaen,
I see that you are trying to locate your ePrint email address. The only way this can be done would be to log into your ePrint account so it would require you to remember your ePrint log on information. The email address that's used to create an account is usually your personal email address. I would try using your personal email address to log into the account. Let me know how it goes. -
9971 SIP Phones at remote location status REJECTED
Hi,
I have 10 locations, Site 1, 2, ....10. All these locations have 10 phones each. These phone are configured with default SIP Profile. Were registered and working fine. While adding a subscriber I downgraded the cluster. After bringing back to regular version. I find all my phones status shows unknown.
I tried to change dhcp option 150 on dhcp router to point different server and reconfigured with the correct tftp ip address. Also I tried to shutdown the interface where phones are connected and bring it back up. Restarted tftp server many times. Even after all these I find my phones in REJECTED state.
I know personal reset on each phone will fix this issue. But is there any other way to fix this, since these phones are at remote locations.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
MRHello!
I think, that the most possible issue is problem with CTL/ITL.
Certificates were regenerated while downgrading/upgrading and were not propagated to the phones.
So u should try to delete ITL on the phones.

Remote location, 7kbs d'load speed, 10 days to d'load Lion, only software updates are through the App Store. Why can't we d'load and install outside the Cloud anymore? Some of us can't use the cloud and never will be able to.
That is true - I apologize for not being specific - what I was mainly referring to is iLife applications. I have a notice on the App Store that says 3 apps need updates, I look at the apps and they are huge so since my connection is so slow I use my work connection and d'load the files from support to my Windows machine and carry them home, once d'loaded my MacAir states it cannot install, the update must come from the App Store.
I do the same thing for large Leopard and Lion files and I can install them without error, it is just the App Store files that the system stops. -
ATP check in certain storage location based on item category
hi gurus,
i need to know whether any one can help me. i need to know how to set the availability check in certain storage location by each item category. such as :
mat A item category TAN, ATP check only include in SLOC 01,02,03
but mat A with item category TANN, ATP check only include SLoc 04.
case:
in MMBE:
mat A
plant 1000 pc
sloc 01 - 400 pc
sloc 02 - 200 pc
sloc 03 - 300 pc
sloc 04 - 100 pc
so when create SO:
1. mat A itCat TAN qty 1000pc
(Sistem will say that the stock not enough, bcoz stock in Sloc 01,02,03 only 900pc)
2. mat A itCat TANN qty 200pc
(Sistem will say that the stock not enough, bcoz stock in Sloc 04 only 100pc)
actually i prefer to use the standard solution but i think that must be use user exit, if so, do u know which user exit i shuld used, if not maybe u have a standard solution,.
thank you so much..

As per my knowledge there is standard solution available for your requirement.. you may need to do some customisation using Z tables..

Specify Remote Location for PrintWriter (applet question)
Hello,
I am trying to use a Java applet to access a URL, read in its text content, and save it to a file. The applet is run off an online host (our school server) so I made it a signed JAR file so I could access other hosts. However, here is my problem. The applet itself is in a remote location (our school server, a unix server). I can edit the directory via SSH to add files, and these files become accessible via my homepage (where I'm running the applet from in my browser). But what I need to do is write a file IN THE SAME DIRECTORY as the applet is being run from (ie, the remote directory). But I find that when I run the applet from my browser, it instead by default saves the file I've written to in the local machine's home directory (the desktop). How can I force the applet to save/write to a file in that remote directory (I have the permissions set up on it so that non-owner can write to the directory).
Maybe this isn't possible. I wasn't sure. Here is my code:
//get URL containing the escape table
URL inputURL = new URL(inputLocation);
//make connection to the URL
URLConnection inputCon = inputURL.openConnection();
//save URL's contents as text file in same directory
BufferedReader inputStream = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(inputCon.getInputStream(), "UTF-8"));
//save with same name as URL file
File file = new File(inputURL.getFile());
String filename = file.getName();
PrintWriter outputStream = new PrintWriter(new File(filename), "UTF-8"); //this didn't work either: outputStream = new PrintWriter(filename, "UTF-8");
//line of current input
String line = null;
//output text file to local text file line-by-line
while((line = inputStream.readLine()) != null)
System.out.println("line=" + line); //TEST TO MAKE SURE ACTUALLY READING FILE
outputStream.println(line);
}According to my System.out.println, it IS actually accessing the URL and reading each line from the URL's text file correctly, and outputStream.println(line) is correctly printing to the file; it's just doing it in the wrong place!
Also, I should specify: I can't hard encode the file location. It could be anywhere in my html directory. Rather, I want a way to save it in the same directory as the applet was deployed from.It's for an assignment. All our assignments have to be applets and run from our unix server. I have to access a URL and get data from it, then create that file, then use that file as a reference table for something else.
The tragic part is I think I have everything else working, but I've no way to test it, as I cannot figure out how to access URLs in jgrasp (my IDE - just running the java file itself as an applet within the IDE has the error message about being unable to connect to the URL, since the applet is not signed, but I've no way how to get around that within the IDE itself) so I am testing it directly on the server as a signed jar file so I can at least access the urls.
The requirements stated:
"make a text file (UTF-8 encoding) of the file name t in the same directory where an applet is deployed; "
# A program must be written as an applet in Java. Other programming languages such as JavaScript cannot be used.
# The applet must be deployed on the ITS Web server
I could be missing something, honestly. >_< I might have a word with the TA. I'm just really frustrated since I have everything else working.
