Choppy playback/pixelating but previews and plays on compter fine.

I have been hunting through the forum answers but..........my project has been edited/saved multiple times,(trying to get a successful burn!). It is from iMovieHD, runs56 minutes with 26 scenes. There are a few iTune tracks on a like number of clips and finally there are titles at each chapter break. No chapters within the first or last clip.
Consistently, the skipping/freezing/pixalating tends to occur towards the last 1/4 of the burnt DVD.
Too large at 10.1 GB, if attempting to share as QT Full Quality but apparently is only 3.7 GB when shared to iDVD.
An ealier post suggested that- "Also, you can use DVD Player to play the virtual disk to check your iDVD 5 project before burning to DVD. Launch DVD Player. File/Open VIDEO_TS (Open DVD Media... in Player 4.6). Find the VIDEO_TS folder and open that. (The audio folder is for DVD-Audio disks.)"
When I open iDVD 5.0.1 and try to get into the VIDEO_TS there are multiple folders and none that I can figure out how to "play/view".
I am using Verbatim-R. I have tried:
-waiting until the "status" bar indicates "done" and then burned using the iDVD burn button
-deleted the com.Apple.iDVD.plist file
-re-booted
-thrown away a stack of "coasters"
-spent too many hours reconstructing the "project" with it's drop zones
-family is getting tired of listening to me state "This time it will work"
-saved as Disc image and burned from Disc Utilities (but didn't wait until the status bar had finished. Just found out about that suggestion.)
So wise ones.
Should I wait for the "status"bar to show done and then save as disc image and try that again?
Haven't yet used Apple-R DVD, should I?
Thanks all

Could be media or burn speed isues.

Sounds like the 10.1 GB file is your DV Stream content out of iMovie - this isn't designed to be played in DVD players. iDVD takes this content and MPG-2 encodes it down to something that DVD players will play.

iDVD ISN'T a DVD Player application! You should have Apple's DVD Player application in your Applications folder - THIS is what you want to use to playback the image file.

  • I have windows XP. I have a DVD that I was told was made in MOV. I have tried and tried to down load quicktime to play it, but all I can get is audio. It brings up the opening picture of the video then it stops there and plays the audio fine.

I have windows XP with 32bit. I have a DVD that I was told was make in MOV. file. I have down loaded and unloaded Quicktime several times and it is always the same. The audio plays fine, but the only video I get is the opening frame of the video and it stops there, but the audio goes ahead and plays?  Any ideas??

    It should play in QuickTime.
Try dragging the file from the mounted DVD to the desktop (it will copy). It may playback properly.

  • Cannot locate MP4's on ipad imovie but appear and play through the videos icon??? Camera Connection Kit

I loaded 25 - MP4's from iTunes onto my ipad, they appear and play when accessed through my VIDEOS icon but when I open imovie or splice they do not appear as an option to import?????? These are files I converted from mts files - note they do play on ipad, please help????

Johnathan,   -- I wrote this below in bold then the discussions site went down for maintenance and then Menneisyys and Kiwiphone4 replied and I think they are confirming what I'm saying here (only a bit more technically correct).
Thanks for your comment – but my issue is not with pirated or other movie video from the www, rather (as Menneisyys points-out) with videos I take with my Nikon Coolshot camera.  What has perplexed me is this:
I synced about 100 events (containing both photos as well as .avi "video" files) from my MacBook Pro-13" (10.6.8) to my new iPad 3.  NONE of the avi files transferred---
    BUT:
…then I transferred an avi file from an SD card using the Camera Connection Kit - and the video played just fine!
Why on the same iPad with the same .avi video does it transfer via the CCK and play on the iPad, but not via an iTunes transfer.
PERHAPS THIS?!:  The .avi movie NEVER MAKES IT into iTunes because iTunes cannot play an avi movie; therefore if it is not there, it can't be transferred.  That must be it or something like that.  (The avi movie I transfer from my Nikon is in iPhoto - and it plays in iPhoto - but since photo and video transfers to the iPad go via iTunes, and iTunes apparently can't bring-in avi, then it cannot act as the "bridge" in the way the CCK does.
    Is that it?
    Thanks everyone for any comments.
    Best regards,

  • Pages look fine in Design mode but Preview and Publish Distorted Footers

I'm experiencing some unusual issues with Muse. Footers on some of my pages are either not displaying content or distorting them..for example:
    http://lawtechpartners.com/consulting.html
In muse Design mode it looks ok - screenshot here:
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/11434055/muse-screenshot.PNG
But live and in preview mode the issue shows.
I went so far as to delete ALL the files on the server and upload the entire site and all files from scratch to make sure nothing was colliding.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks in advance.

Yes - I'm sorry I should have come back in and closed the question. It was all being caused by a very simple and short Google+ code that was to display the Google+ logo. As soon as I removed it, the footer rendered correctly. Here is the offending code:
<!-- Place this tag where you want the +1 button to render. -->
    <div class="g-plusone" data-size="medium"></div>
<!-- Place this tag after the last +1 button tag. -->
    <script type="text/javascript">

        var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(po, s);

  • Outlook 2010 and 2013 are unable to connect but OWA (and mail routing) works fine

    Hi-
Not sure why but this past Sunday (just after DST adjustment) outlook clients (using 2010 and 2013) were unable to connect to an Exchange 2013 server.  OWA and mail routing (internal and external) is working fine.  I've even tried on multiple machines
and all of them experience the same issue.  On a new machine with a fresh version of outlook 2013 installed here is what happens:
    Click on Outlook 2013
Click Next until the account setup is displayed.
    Name and email is auto-populated
    Established network connection is good
Searching for email address settings is good (once the self-signed exchange 2013 cert is accepted)
And then the logging onto the mail server fails.  The first pop-up is:
The Connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable.  Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action.
Clicking "OK" is followed up with a window with the Microsoft Exchange connection info.
It lists Microsoft Exchange server which is populated with: GUID@<domain suffix>
Mailbox which is populated with: =SMTP:<Valid Email address>
On the Exchange Server I have noticed that the Web Management Service (WMSVC) is stopped and will not start.  Starting the service outputs:
    EventID 7024
"The Web Management Service terminated with the following service-specific error:  Unspecified error"
    Not really helpful :)
Since this is only happening with Outlook on multiple clients I'm expecting something with Exchange or the ability for outlook to connect to exchange.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi
I know this is an old post, but I'm having a very similar issue. I have CU6 installed and all other client connectivity apart from internal Outlook connectivity is working fine. I have distributed the new Self-Signed Certificate and the tested to verify
the clients trust it. I have tried on multiple machine with multiple accounts and none of them connect.
    I'm at the stage of reinstalling, but I would rather troubleshoot the problem, just in case ever hit the same wall in the future. I have run Test-OutlookConnectivity with the following output;

  • Pixelation in preview and browser are different.

When viewing my web page in the preview it all looks fine but when I view it in the browser some of the files look bitmapped oven though they have both been generated in the same way.
I have tried making the png's at 100% and 200% to see if that would make a difference and it does not. I am now at a loss and need to publish my site asap. This is driving me nuts!
    Please help me.

Here is the code for the vimeo embed, plus some lines of code preceding it. This extra code contins the info for the graphic which is missing in the "PREVIEW" window.

I have small office network with 10 windows 7 32bit machines connected with wires. The router is Cisco E2000 and the switch is D-Link. The office have 3 printers - Two HP LJ 1536 and one HP LJ 1520 color printer. All computers work fine with all these printers and the network also works fine. Except one pc - on that pc i have the 1520 working, but when i try to install 1536 with installation cd the installator cant find 1536 printers. Till now everythig worked fine. The problem is from today. I have uninstalled the software and try to reinstall but with none success. I can ping IP addres of these two 1536 priniters but cant install them with the installator. Only with add printer method but then the scanner doesn't work. Firewall is turned off. File sharing work fine. HP diagnostic utilities didn't solve the problem. All computers and printers have static ip v.4 settings. Please Help Me

    Hi deepgeorge,
If you type the IP address into the address bar of your internet browser are you able to see the printers EWS - Embedded Web Server?

  • Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at "Every Website" but IE and Safari work just fine.

    Unable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at google.com.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
    moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
    connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Poor video playback in Encore 2.0 preview and monitor window . . .

I'm having a strange issue with my video playback in the preview and monitor windows. At some points it displays as blocks (like digital noise). I unchecked the "Automatic" option in the A/V Output dialog as described in the manual. Still, nothing changed.
To make sure it was Encore that had the problem, and not the file, I played my MPG2 files through PowerDVD, and nothing wrong with the playback in there. What is Encore 2.0 doing? How can I fix this problem???
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks!
    Laz

What Mouse drivers are you using please?
This might sound silly, but under 1.5 (Different preview engine, true, so this may be completely wrong) I found that with a later revision of the MS Intellipoint drivers, I had exactly the same issue.
We worked this out by realizing the green blocks appeared as soon as the mouse was moved. As with your cases, the discs still burned true proving it is a preview related issue.
Uninstalling & reverting back to version 4.1 made it all go away.
But since the preview engine is now the PPro one, this might not work any more.

  • Choppy Playback when using the PLAYBACK feature in preferences

I've been running into an issue since the PPro CC 7.1 update in October where Premiere will play footage just fine until you tell it to send a signal out to another monitor. Before hand everyhting played fine in the Program and Playback Monitors. Now whenever switched on it plays back choppy constantly. Doesn't matter the footage format.
To further explain -- I have a 3 monitor setup 2 for editing and a thrid for preview playback. All of this runs via my Retina MacBook Pro and has worked fine since PPro 6.0. Never had any slowdown and its been one of my favorite features in PPro.
So when this update came around I ran into the playback issues mentioned above. So I just keep playback switched off and just leave the third monitor barren... figuring it was a bug (?) I waited and saw a few updates, but nothing that fixed said problem. Though with each update and bug fix I've eagerly gone through the same exercise of trying out this feature once more. Again, nothing has changed... However I found out this evening, that when using my three monitors and suffering through the playback, that I can tell monitor to toggle to full screen and instantly my playback monitor has corrected itself and the two play in perfect sync (quick note the program monitor is choppy when not in full screen mode and trying to playback with the third monitor). I can toggle on and off during this playback and when on its fine, the moment its off, its choppy again. Absolutely bizzare. And to some extent makes my playback monitor somewhat useful agian... albeit in a very tedious fashion.
The point is, I'm at my wits end again here. I've seen plenty of choppy playback post, but nothing quite like this. I've tried to clearing caches, and preferences, even did a unistall/reistall tongiht... and I'm coming up with the same issues in the exact same places. But ultimately I am no closer to finding a proper solution to this particular playback issue. Aside from doing a clean install of the OS and all my software, though I'm not sure its worth it just yet. Even if its my last resort.
Has anyone run across playback as bizzare as this? Did you find a solution? Is there a post I've missed? - Thanks

  • Podcasts stops and plays a previous one

In my itunes (latest update), my podcasts randomly stop and played the previous episode. This patterns seems random as well. I don't download podcasts, but stream them (right click, play). However, when I download the podcast and play it, its fine. But I would rather stream it.
Also, my internet is fine. I am on blazing fast university internet.
Does anyone have a fix for this?

delete off any apps that are asking for the wrong apple id and download/sync them over from the correct one

  • HT4527 how do you transfer iTunes ratings and plays to new computer

I used home sharing to load all music to new computer, but ratings and play counts did not transfer over.
    Can you help?

Your ratings, play counts, etc, are saved in the library database, which can be imported to iTunes on a new computer (or a new download of iTunes on the same computer, if necessary).
The library database file is in the iTunes folder (I've never been able to open it from within iTunes).  If you stuck with the default installation settings, it should be in C/Documents and Settings/User/My Documents/My Music/iTunes.
This file is simply a database of all your play counts, ratings, etc, and can be backed up to a memory stick, flash drive, or whatever.
Then it can be imported to iTunes on a newly-authorized computer from File -> Import Library.
(I'm assuming this will be a one-time-only procedure.  This doesn't work like syncing, and subsequent changes won't automatically transfer...)

  • Videos do play but are not loading properly and plays choppy.

Videos on websites as www.omesakevideo.nl do play but are not loading properly and plays choppy, I don't have this problem in Safari or Chrome

Try the basics from the manual:
    restart.
    reset.
    restore.
