Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.3 / Device Work Center/ delete Site Group

I've configured two dynamic Groups, Access Switch and N44.
How can I delete this two wrong groups?
Regards

Thanks for you answer.
But this is not the solution.
I have two site groups, one with the static groups witch I can found also under Operate --> Map and one with the dynamic groups witch are not visibal under Operate --> Map.
I would like to delet the dynamic Groups.
N44 and Access Switch.

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure - not updating device details

We run Cisco prime Infrastructure and I have found an interesting problem that I can't see an easy way round.
If I have say a Cisco 2950 switch on my network, managed by Prime and I upgrade it to a 3560 - I then ask Prime to re-sync the device details.
This works - you can see the updated configuration files etc but the device ID stays the same - Prime still thinks it is a 3560, which it was when the device was originally added.
Is there a way, short of deleting the device and adding it again (losing the config archive) of getting prime to update it's details to reflect the hardware change?
It came to light as it screwed up a network hardware audit I was doing - this is all showing up on Prime as the old 2050's which I have replaced with 3560's.
There must be an easier way that just deleting the device and re-adding it?

This is by no means a full solution, but deleting and re-adding only takes a few minutes if you use the "Export Device" and "Bulk Import" features from the Device Work Center. You can export the desired devices to a CSV file, delete them, then import from the CSV.
Of course, you might lose historical data when deleting the devices, but I'm guessing that's not as relevant since the devices themselves have been replaced by different hardware.

    Hi,
Since it is a virtual appliance just attach them show tech-support and this should be sufficient for them. Regarding the disk space usage what you can do is:
    1) Enable root access if you haven't ("root_enable" command).
    2) Enter root mode.
    3) Execute "du -sh /opt/*" it will list directories inside /opt which are consuming your disk space. After just analyze or find out which directories and files are causing this filling up.

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.3 stops working

    Hi,
I have strange behavior with our CPI at the customer site. With no apparent reason we have noticed that the web interface was not accessible. • Deleted WLC from its folder under the Device work center of Cisco prime 1.2

I kindly need  your help as regarding cisco prime infrastructure.
I added the wireless LAN controller to the prime. I later had to troubleshoot the WLC because the reachability status showed UNREACHABLE.
Due to my troubleshooting, I synched the WLC a couples of times and the collection status has been showing SYNCHING since then.
I also tried deleting the WLC from its folder under device work center and it deleted but it still reflects under the ALL folder.
Please would I have to wait for the SYNCHRONIZATION of the WLC to stop before I can completely delete it and re-add??
Also I noticed that after deploying ''Interface Health'' under Monitoring Configurations, the CPU and memory utilization did not reflect for the devices cisco
    prime is managing.
    What have I missed out?
    Kindly help.

Prime Infrastructure won't support those legacy models.

  • Cisco Prime does not update devices in "Device Work Center"

    Hi everyone.
I have a problem that is bugging me a lot.
I'm working in Cisco Prime 2.0 and we have a big problem.
If I run a discovery and find all a lot of switches, the switches is discovered and are fully managed via SSH and SNMP.
We are using both 2960S, 2960x and a lot of old 2950:s.
We are replacing all 2950:s to some new 2960 model.
The big problem is that when we replace the old 2950:s we reuse the same IP-address (so our customly built programs can find them again), Cisco Prime DOES NOT update the model of the switches. The switches are still in the Device Work Center and are still in recognized as a 2950.
If I mark the switch to view more info in Device Work Center the Unique Device Identifier says that it is a new 2960s/x but the model is still recognized as a 2950 so Prime can obviously find a manage the switch and update "some" info, but not the device itself.
Does someone have the same problem or do I need to delete all 2950:s and do a new discovery so Prime understand?
    EDIT
    I have now an example.
    Please look at the image.

    Hi,
I ran into same issue,Yes this is known issue, there is a open defect id and is fixed in upcoming releases.
I deleted existing devices and rediscovered, but note you will loose all your configurations related to existing deive model.

My Cisco Prime Infrastructure ver. 1.2.1.12
Cisco Prime Infrastructure - I can't see the hardware virtual image when I selected a device managed by Prime Infrastructure. See attached picture.
Please let me know how to access or enable the feature.

  • Device Reachable but Unmanaged in Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.3

    Hi,
I am running the Eval version of cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.3
I tried running discovery for WLC and it worked fine where all the controllers were discovered.
But when i try to discover a Switch, the reachability tab says Reachable but in Collection Status tab it shows Unmanaged.
When i click on the Unmanaged tab it says " Pre-collection check failed because: "
I have configured the SNMP correctly.
Does anyone know why is this happening.
All the help is greatly appreciated.

Had the same issue and noticed that the licence count for 100 devices (Eval Limit) was consumed as soon as we added the WLC
On your page https:///webacs/welcomeAction.do#pageId=LicenseCenter_pageId look at how many are taken and if it is in violation.
We added our 500 pak upgraded, and it still didn't fix the issue when re-syncing. We had to remove the device and re-add.
This is now resolved for us.

    Hi Jeremy,
SNMP traps are shown in the events and alerts section of PI.
SNMP config looks fine. Can  you run the SNMP debug (debug snmp packets ) .check the logs and see if the device is actually sending the TRAPS to the PI server.
    Thanks-
    Afroz

  • Cisco nexus 6001 not a supported device on cisco prime infrastructure 2.1?

I have installed Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.2 and Prime Infrastructure still doesn't seem to support the Nexus 6001 platform? Can someone tell me if Cisco Prime Infrastructure will ever support the Cisco Nexus 6001 platform or is there any plans to support it in any future device packs?

The Nexus 6001 isn't currently supported in PI 2.1. There's no workaround except to wait for a device or product update that adds support. Right now I know the 9000 series is on the 2.2 roadmap but I haven't seen any reference to the 6001 and PI.
Interestingly, Prime LMS does support both the 6001 and 6004. Reference.

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0 -- Third Party Devices

    Hello,
we are using cisco prime infrastructure 2.0. Is it possible to manage third party devices? (We have a lot of Enterasys Switches)
When i want to Archive the config of the device there is an error --> No Device Package found for the specific device.
It is necessary to install device packages for third party devices? Where can i find and install these packages?
    Thx in advance

it seems not to be on the road-map according to the functional /feature comparison between LMS and PI 2.0:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/prod/collateral/netmgtsw/ps6504/ps6528/ps12239/guide_c07-729089.html
...and I doubt it will come (quickly) because config management has a lot of pitfalls and Cisco has a lot to do to get around all of them with their own devices..
However, Inventory Management for third party devices is on the road-map
older version of the document (feature comparison PI 1.2 - LMS 4.2) can be found here:

When I stop "ncs" or halt the vm the web page responds shortly but then the connection is lost.  I used "show ports" and tried https://<ip address>/8082 and get a login from the Cisco Prime Infrastructure Health Monitor URL. There is a prompt for the authorization key. How can I confirm the installation is complte and all services are up and running
    Thanks
    Terry

After digging almost 1 month, I found the answer.
When you do provision from ESXi with ova file, you have to create "Thick Provision" otherwise, you wiil have same problem such as "some services are not up"
In my case, I am running ESXi on the top of VM WorkStation since I don't have any ESXi server. When I added 250GB into the WorkStation and did provision with "Thick" it works !!!
Since my testing envrionment is little complicated (ESXi with VM WorkStation), I added first 250GB HDD into ESXi, and tried. It didn't work. So I added 250GB into VM WorkStation and did provision through Workstation, it worked (If you don't understand this statements, do not worry. If you have ESXi server, you don't need to worry about)
As far as cisco ova is concerned, when I talked to one of my my friend who was working for new ACS (Virtual Appliance) he had same issue. He also solved with "Thick Provision"
FYI, even if when I installed with "Thin Provision", PI 1.2 used only 10GB out of 200GB, so I did not think that I should use "Think Provision". But definitely not.

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.3 - TFTP backup WLC not working

I don;t get the the background task "Controller Configuration Backup" working. I want to use default TFTP.
When i look in the logging i see 2 of three WLC's succesfully backuped there logging. Is their a log file where you can see what is happening?
    With kind regards,
    Martijn.

    Hi Martijn:
If you go to the controller's GUI to Commands > Upload File and manually trigger the TFTP Configuration backup, does the process complete as expected?  If not, whatever's causing that problem needs to be addressed first.
When someone wants to do a config backup from the command line, they give a series of commands
    transfer download datatype config
    transfer download mode tftp
    transfer download serverip x.x.x.x
    transfer download path ./
    transfer download filename myBackup.cfg
    transfer download start
The Controller Config Backup background task is just the SNMP version of "transfer download filename " and "transfer download start".  If these other required settings aren't already there, the task isn't going to set them (the humans have to).  If there's a problem with writing out the file on the server, or packet routing issues to get to the server, the task isn't going to see those things, it just knows that the answer to "transfer download start" wasn't "Okay!"
As for watching this processing in logs, go to Administration > Logging, and set the logging level to Trace for the modules SNMP and System, and click Save.  Then kick off your backup attempt, allowing it to fail.  When it does, return to Administration > Logging, and click the Download button to retrieve the logs.zip file.  The activity should be in the ncs-x-x.log file.
If you don't have the new Update-1 patch for Prime Infrastructure 1.3.0.20 (filename PI_1.3.0.20_Update_1-12.tar.gz) installed, I'd suggest you get it.  While it's not going to specifically address this issue, there are a lot of really good fixes in it.

  • Download devices syslogs of Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.2

    Hello,
I'm working with Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.2, wish I could download to my PC syslog captured by PI.

    Hi ,
In the prime infrastructure Syslogs are directly read from udp port 514 and then filtered , the non SEV1 and SEV2 syslogs will be dropped and will not be entered into db . The syslog messages will not be saved into log files .
    Thanks-

  • Web Interface of Cisco Prime Infrastructure Not Working

    Hi All,
I installed the trial version of Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.2 on ESXi server.
It installed propersly and and i am able to ping it and also ssh into it.
But when I try to access it via web interface, it does not work.
I am provided with a login screen but after putting my credentials the page goes blank.
There also an error on the page "Error occured while fetching Meatdata for Slider Panel" and there is a advertisemnt to download Google chrome Framework.
When i do "NCS status" in CLI i see that every service is running.
Does anyone know how to solve this.
All your help is highly appreciated.

Google Chrome Frame isnt supported anymore, using Google Chrome doesnt work with all features and forget about Firefox. Up until this morning I had it working on IE11 but some update caused me to have this problem again. Cisco needs to get this fixed. I use several applications from Cisco and they still can't figure out a way to have them all work on a single browser.
