Citrix Plug-In 12.1.0.30 Disappears without warning on update to Firefox 21. Why was there no warning?

The "warn me if this will disable any of my add-ons" check box is checked.
Had to revert to 20.0.1 for the plug in to reappear.
I cannot get the Citrix 12.1.0.30 plug-in to show up in Firefox 21. Reverting back to version 20.0.1 and turning off auto-updates is the only workaround for the plug-in issue I could find. Updating to a newer Citrix plug-in not an option as the new Citrix Receivers have too many bugs and do not work well (Citrix has been contacted but they are very slow at fixing bugs).

I am having the problem with Firefox running on Windows (XP to be exact). Since it came with Windows 8, I do not run Windows on my machine (which I posted the question from). I didn't know that it was going to try and attach machine info automatically. I pasted the information from the Windows XP Firefox versions manually in the additional information section of the question.
Anyway, for some reason I never ran into that website with my initial searches for this problem. Why doesn't the Firefox installer move or copy the plugins folder if it changes the location of it? Now I need to script a Firefox installer fix for all workstations and turn off auto-updates of Firefox since this is the second time something went wrong with a new Firefox version in a very short time (19.0.2->20 [unresponsive location bar] and 20.0.1->21 [plugins disappearing without warning]). Mozilla seems to be concentrating too much on this decades Windows ME and ignoring the majority of their existing installations. Ok, off soapbox and feeling better. The good news is that the plug-in wasn't disabled after all.
Thanks!

  • HT4312 how can I enable my citrix plug-in?

I use go to meeting frequently, and citrix keeps downloadingthe application. I contacted them, and they told me to enable my citrix plug-in to prevent this from happpening repeatedly. Can anyone tell me how to do this?
    Thanks

By any chances is this a thing called Citrix Receiver?  If so, I would think that to prevent it from doing anything would be to uninstall it.  It comes with it's own installer and uninstaller.   The installer would have installed a abrowser plugin called CitrixICAClientPlugIn.plugin in your /Library/Internet Plug-Ins.

  • MBP(Leopard) has ALL music (Amazon, my own CDs,etc) in iTunes. I do NOT want to use in new MBP(Yosemite). Now, iPodTouch64 is now stuck at "plug in to iTunes" screen. Can I plug it in to my old MBP without fear of losing ALL?

My iPod64Touch is frozen at that screen, with no way to get to settings. I have even pressed the top (on/off) button and the button at the bottom (front) at the same time, and it just returns to the frozen screen. Let it drain, recharged, and get the same screen. I'm sure this is Apple's way of forcing me to send all my 6674 items to my new MBP(Yosemite), and know it will not include my Amazon purchases and personal CDs that are on the old MBP.  I don't use videos, photos, or anything other than music on the iPods.
ITunes on the old computer, under Devices>Device backups, shows:
    iPodTouch 64 ------------------------------------12/24/14 9:33pm
    iPodTouch 64 - Feb 14, 2015 7:07pm ----12/24/14 9:33pm
I use this device in the cars only, and have played it many times until last week, when I got the frozen screen after disconnecting from my husband's car. The CAR couldn't have tried an update, right? I forgot about Sync, didn't I? I've now checked the box to "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically". Why didn't I see that before now? It's possible that the update was so large, that the iPodTouch wouldn't take it and just quit, without completing the update, but left me this unresponsive screen.
So can I safely just plug the USB from the iPod64 into the older 2008 MBP and update it from there (WITHOUT DANGER OF LOSING ENTIRE COLLECTION)? Make it simple; I'm 74 and not as savvy as I used to be! I tend to zone out with long descriptions, but if you have to....fire away...between hubby and me, we can usually figure it out.
I haven't migrated from older to newer MBP or to iPad4 yet because I wanted to be selective in doing so. I am offloading all my photos, digital art, documents and important Applications onto separate thumb drives, before upgrading the old MBP, and will probably backup the whole thing on a new external backup drive, too. Then, will upgrade to Snow Leopard (the last update the 2008 MBP will take), and use it almost exclusively offline.
I have a 'Classic iPod' that I purposely haven't updated since the last of '14. All purchases from all sources are on there (as on the '08MBP) and I want to keep it that way. We keep it in players and do not plan to update it or play anywhere else, except perhaps with headphones or through the tuner occasionally. I'm assuming it is safe from the same fate?

Sometimes you have to reset the SMC two or three times for it to work, don't know why. I've seen that error message before and 100% of the time it was fixed with an SMC reset. I suppose it's possible that your keyboard or mouse IS drawing too much power, do you have access to another you could try?

Check your System Profiler to see if your computer is recognizing them. You may need to reset the computers SMC.

  • I updated my Firefox to 5.0 and now my Kaspersky Password plug-in no longer works. Spoke with them and they do not have a compatible update yet, so I want to go back to Firefox 4.0. How do I do that?

I love the Kaspersky Pure Password program and us it constantly! After updating my Firefox browser from 4.0 to 5.0... I found that the plug-in for my password program no longer worked!
I emailed them and they do not have an update yet that is compatible with Firefox 5.0....
So I need to go back to 4.0 till Kaspersky has an update because I am lost without my password program!
    Please help me.

Due to security vulnerabilities, rolling back to Firefox 4.0.1 is not recommended. Firefox 3.6.18 would be the safer choice.
Here's the process to roll back:
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, download and save Firefox 3.6 to your desktop for future installation. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
    Close Firefox 5.
You could install Firefox 3.6 over it (many have reported success) or you could uninstall Firefox first. If you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.
Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.
Note: I haven't actually tried this myself!

  • Disappearing hard drive....but it's still there!

    Hi all,
I've got a weird bug on my Mirrored Doors G4 since installing the latest security updated (20th April, 2007-2004).
Although I can still access my applications, home folder, the mac appears to work normally etc...I can't access the Mac System drive directly - it's gone from the side menu and from the desktop!
Bizarrely enough, I can get to it from disk utility - in location, there's just a "/" (I don't know if this is normal, or if it should have a /volumes/system there instead). Clicking on this brings up the drive contents as normal.
I've tried - repairing permissions, zapping P-Ram, starting from system CD and repairing disk, I'm now in the process of downloading the combined update and will try re-installing manually.
Just wondered if anyone had come across this bug before, and if so if you'd managed to resolve it? Nothing seems to have changed functionally on the mac, it's just a bit annoying that's all!
    Thanks for any help received.

yes - If you turn these on and off, the other 3 internal drives (2 of which are the same physical drive as the system drive) disappear and come back fine.
A couple of other points - using the combi updater of 10.4.9 doesn't fix it (and now I can't actually apply the latest security update - I'm assuming that's because it's incorporated into the combi updater?). Also, I first noticed it had disappeared after i'd seen a little "finder restart" (ie the header bar along the top of the screen disappeared for a sec and the finder window that was open at the time shut).
Looking now at system profiler, this can see it fine with all the usual details - mount point again given just as "/" that's correct isn't it?
I'd also been getting "disk nearly full" errors - although that's not the case now, and wasn't whilst installing the combi update.
    Thanks again!

  • How do I retrieve lost Bookmark icons most of which disappeared when I updated to Firefox 8?

After I updated to Firefox 8 I noticed that more than half of the itemsin my bookmarks list had lost their icons which were replaced by a dotted line in the shape of a square. I tried to go back to using Firefox 7 using System Restore. The restore was successful except that Firefox could not be opened. So I undid the restore and this allows Firefox to open and all seems ok apart from the fact that the majority of the items in my Bookmark list have disappeared and have been replaced as described. Can anybody help?

Hi everyone. At issue is that FF8, obviously due to a coding bug, no longer is retrieving the favicon from the root of a website's www directory website in some situations. I tried starting FF8 with all add-ons disabled, just to verify that an add-on wasn't causing the issue. The add-on Check Places will restore the missing favicons, but the favicon will disappear as soon as you visit the bookmarked URL if the favicon was missing after you upgraded to FF8.
Hehe. I am not too thrilled with Mozilla's new rapid development cycle. FF8 is simply a tweaked version of FF7 and as such it should have been a 7X upgrade. But I guess Mozilla wants Firefox to get up to version 10000 before Chrome does. Silly.

  • Can I unplug my time machine hard drive from my airport extreme and plug it direcly on my MacBook pro without having to do a new back up?

I want to bring my back up hard drive on a trip, but now it's attahced to my Airport Extreame.
If I unplug it and plug it directly on my MacBook Pro, it'll keep updating or I'll lose all my back ups and have to restart again?

Yes, but you'll probably have to manually "mount" the sparse bundle containing your backups.  See the blue box in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Question #17 for details.
Also, I hate to have to tell you this, but backing-up that way is unreliable and not supported by Apple.   See:  Using Time Machine with an Airport Extreme Air Disk.

  • I cannot get my preferred images to remain on the desktop.  Through preferences I choose an image and it disappears each time I turn the computer off: why?  And how can I stop this?

When I go to 'desktop' in system preferences and choose an image for the desktop, it disappears when I turn the computer off.  Why is this?  And how can I get an image to remain until I choose to change it?  It acts this way whether I click 'change' or not.

If you log in automatically, a known bug will cause the desktop picture to revert to the default image of a galaxy at every startup. The only workaround is to disable automatic login in the Users & Groups preference pane.
If the desktop picture always reverts to a plain blue background, one of your login items may be causing the problem. The "Team Viewer" application has this effect, as reported by ASC user Zimmerwald. If it's not that in your case, rule out all other third-party login items as possible causes.
According to one report, a "stuck" desktop picture setting can be fixed by changing the setting and then immediately rebooting. I can't confirm, but there's no harm in trying it.
If none of the above applies to you, proceed as follows.
In the Finder, hold down the option key and select
    Go ▹ Library
from the menu bar. From the Library folder, delete the following item, if it exists:
    Caches/com.apple.systempreferences
and move the following item to the Desktop:
    Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist
Launch System Preferences and test. If you still have the issue, put the item on the Desktop back where it came from and post again. Otherwise, delete the item.

when i plug my iphone to my computer it says, apple mobile device has not started. why?

Your computer could possibly be running in selective startup mode where any nonessential services are disabled temporarily until a restart.  If that isn't the case you can check out http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567 for information on restarting the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Windows computers.
