Clamshell mode not working, tried every possible way
Grr, this is getting so frustrating. I have tried every possible method, even following apple's guides. None of them work for me. I even tried the "boot" method the guy told me about in the last thread, and that still didn't work!!!
I have both my bluetooth mouse and keyboard hooked up right now, and it is not working . What would you guys recommend I do next?

If you have, do you happen to have a wired keyboard and mouse to try it with - that would rule out any possible bluetooth problems. If you haven't, try the ones in the link I posted. Also, are you using the correct cable connections/ports?

My iPad2 was locked and disabled because my kids entered several times the passcode and now it is locked. I tried every possible ways and read all related items and followed precisely articel http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212 but after i restored and update teh iPad, itunes keeps giveing me the same message:
The iPad "iPad" cannot be restored at this time because the iPad software update server could not becontacted or is temporarily unavailable.
I tired at different time of teh day and noght and different days yet kept getting the same message.
Pls assist me as now the iPad is useless

JoeIf reset doesn't work, try and force the iPad into Recovery Mode.
Recovery Mode
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times. -

Clamshell Mode Not Working With Acer V223W
I recently got an Acer V223W 22" monitor to use at the office with my MBP. Using the DVI port, it works well, but I cannot get clamshell mode to work. I close the lid, and when I awaken the computer with a mouse click, I know it wakes up because I can hear the audio, but the Acer display does not light up.
Any suggestions as to how to fix this are welcome!This may be relevant: 2011 MacBook Pro Repair Extension Program for Video Issues.

i have gotten my email that me preorder of an album is ready.. clicked on the link and got brought right to the home page of the itunes store.. went on my computer and checked all the recent purchases but i still cannot find my "purchased" music anywhere.. does anyone have an answer for me? im really aggravated.. a nice answer of how to get my already paid for album would be GREATLY appreciated..

After connecting an external monitor (non-Mac) to my MacBook (Mac OSX 10.6.6) w/proper adaptor, setting up to use clamshell mode as per manual, the external still goes black even after putting MacBook to sleep, disconnecting and reconnecting external and powering up again as suggested in Support. Displays are set to Mirror. Also, when I open Displays in System preferences, 2 different windows for Resolution settings appear. Where have I gone wrong? This monitor (Viewsonic) came with it's own software for setup on a Windows PC, but of course it is not being used on the MacBook.

Yes I followed all the procedueres....except for waking the computer using a keyboard click. For obvious reasons one is just inclined to open the top of the MacBook to wake it when the external goes dark...I did that twice, until I realized that very last step was needed to 'wake' it. It worked. Something so simple, easy to overlook I guess.
I did leave the monitors mirrored, fyi, if I don't then all I can access from the external are the resolution settings. This Viewsonic comes pre-loaded with Windows software of it's own and doesn't quite behanve the way my previous external did, but I got it figured out.

HT1338 early 2012 macbook air clamshell mode not working after mountain lion update
Can't make 2012 MBA 13" work in clamshell mode after updating to Mountain Lion. All peripheral devices are connected, as is AC power. Closing lid causes external monitor to enter sleep mode (presumably, the MBA is going to sleep as well).
Power settings are set to stay awake when on AC power.

The two may be linked as there is a common support app called IMAgent that helps with both Messages and FaceTime.
Shut down both apps.
With the Finder as the Front App > use the Go Menu > Hold down ALT key and select Library.
In the Library find and open th Preferences Folder
Find com.apple.IMAgent.plist and drag it to the Trash
Before restarting the App now go to Activity Monitor in Applications/Utilities.
Find imagent (it is in lower case).
Highlight and use the Quit button.
Now restart the app(s).
This will recreate the .plist from defaults.

i really need help in this one because it's been like two or three months since i last imported my songs. i think the first cause to this problem was because i imported my song but i think my phone at that time didn't have enough storage or enough space for any other file. so some of the songs were imported completely, but the others weren't. so i thought it was normal bc ive been through this once, but then the next time i tried again, it still didn't worked so i deleted the none-completed imported songs and tried over three times but it didn't work, yet again. so i left it like that for about a few weeks and i tried again but it didn't worked as well. i started to browse some solution to this and i've tried to delete the songs that weren't completed and transfer the songs (which didn't work), and a few others but then i think i miss clicked a button that automatically imports all the songs in my laptop that wasn't on my phone and suddenly a few of my songs from my iphone was labeled not completely imported. i tried syncing but it got stuck on the third step which was "configuring purchased songs" and i tried updating to the new version recently but it hadn't worked too, and i wanted to try to rebuild my itunes but i didnt have the guts to do it. my total play counts has gone mad because the songs that i listen to the most, the 'plays' went from 30 to 20000+, it was just random numbers. i couldn't sync my iphone and so my photos went from 1000 to 2000, my songs were supposed to be 1200+ but its stuck on 700, my videos were supposed to be 6 but it went up to 10.

i installed mobistealth in a mobile. the mobistealth is working very good ( the calls history, messages, GPS, photos history and call recording) BUT the call recordings have some problems. i tried to solve but i could not. some of the calls can open with quicktime but most of them i could not because they said they are codec. i tried to download codec programs but useless. i tried to install many programs other than quicktime also useless. i reomve quicktime 7 and reinstall quicktime6.3. i called realplayer team. they said i need to codec program.. i do not understand how to solve this problem. if you need i can attach .3gp file . please help me because it is urgent.Have you tried VLC?

What am I doing wrong???I would try creating USB activity somehow. If you don't have a USB mouse or keyboard, use one of those flash memory drives and plug it into the USB port on the MBP. If that causes the MBP to wake up and the external display lights, then you have determined the problem is with the MBP being able to wake from the Bluetooth peripherals.
If, on the other hand, USB activity is not waking the MBP either, than the problem lies elsewhere. I assume that the MBP sleep light remains on when the external monitor isn't working? Is that a correct assumption, that the MBP isn't waking? -

Sorry, but if you have forgotten the password for your encrypted backup, you'll have to start all over again:
Make sure that the password you use is one that you'll remember. If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and forget your password, you won't be able to restore from backup, and your data will be unrecoverable.
If you can't remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and choose set up as a new device when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore.

Hello. I have problem here can someone plz help. I have usb of 32 gb but i have problem with it while i was trying to partition of it and it fails and my usb disappear from finder and desktop i have tried every possible thing but nothing works .
Yea i tried in disk utility and its got faiiled and the partitation has deleted and when i tried to replug the usb msg show up by saying usb not compaitnle. With this mac and take me to disk utility and thanks for replying

I need help authenticating my outgoing server settings in setting up my work email on my Galaxy S5. It says unable to authenticate or connect to server and I even called helpdesk at my email support and they tried every possible port (80, 25, 3535 or 465 SSL) and none of them work. Please help!
You will need to get the required info to create/access the account with an email client from your school.
Are you currently accessing the account with an email client on your computer - if you have a Mac with the Mail.app, or if you have a PC with Outlook Express, etc.? If so, you can get the required account settings there. -
Please help me. My YouTube app will not work. Every time I open it says 'cannot connect to youtube'. I have searched for help and tried resetting my settings and rebooting my ipad2 but nothing has solved the issue.
Yes, I am connected to the Internet through my wifi. Everything is working fine with the e eption of youtube. I have reset all Internet settings and have tried synching to iTunes followed by rebooting. This is all the advice I have found although none of it has been helpful.
