Clean unnecessary characters

Hello,
I transfer data from CSV/TXT file to BW info cube.
I looking for mapping function that help me to clean characters if have more then 40 characters.
For example: sometimes I have in the field text with 34 and it's OK.
In other time I have text with 41 characters and I want to transfer only the first 40 character.

Can you share music between iTunes accounts on the same computer

Can you share music between iTunes accounts on the same computer? My kids iPods are under my account now with all of our shared music but they want their own iTunes accounts. I would like to transfer the music and apps that they purchased under my account to their new accounts... Is this posible?

Well you must have updated iTunes once or twice in that time. Do you have some sort of "tidying" app that is supposed to clean "unnecessary" files. If so perhaps it is too aggressive.

Problem with paragraph style overrides and character formatting

I've had this problem for a long time, and sometimes it resolves itself, sometimes it doesn't. Finally I'm begging for help.
I am typesetting academic articles into a journal. We use endnotes. The endnotes have both italic and regular formatting--italics for book and journal titles, and foreign phrases.
Sometimes when I place the text, the formatting reverts to whatever it was in Word. To try to fix that, I've begun stripping the Word formatting from the original document, making everything "Courier New" and just importing it like that. I figured this would clear a lot of the problems I've had with fiddly formatting issues.
I was mistaken.
Here is what happens:
When I place the document it comes up in the original Courier New font, with italics and other formatting intact. If I click "article style" which is the main article paragraph style format, normally it changes. but if I right click and select "apply article style" it is more likely to change the paragraph to the proper style, with italics and other formatting still intact.
But when it gets to endnotes, I'm sort of screwed.
My endnotes style is a bulletted style, so that I can have the endnote numbers consistent. but this seems to screw all the style formatting.
Here is what I do:
With the cursor in endnote text, I click "bulleted endnote style". The character format remains the same, with a + beside the style. The endnote number format is different, however. If I click "clear overrides" it does in fact change to the proper formatting, but it strips any italics or other character in the text. This is frustrating because many of these endnotes have lots of italicized journal and book titles, and it takes a long time to figure out which ones I need to reitalicize manually.
I have tried to use the "customize style import>Style mapping" but it has not fixed anything.
Please help me figure out how to make these transitions more smoothly. I am open to suggestions both on how to make the changes once the document is placed in the Indesign file, and also making modifications to formats in the native Word file so that I don't have these problems.

Sorry, that last message wasn't supposed to send (if that's not obvious!). I was writing it and got interrupted. Damn iphone.
I know why there are two numbers. This is not an issue. What I didn't finish writing was that, the note number before i bullet it is a different font/ format. Again, not a problem. Here is something interesting, though. If I delete that original number by placing the cursor in the middle of it (say a between the 4 and 2 of 42) then delete everything by Shift+arrow forward, press delete then delete the rest of the unnecessary characters, THEN apply the style formatting, it works just fine. Is it something to do with the character codes of those original note numbers?
Word drops in so many hidden codes that it screws everything up!

Java API - PublicReportServiceClient.class

I have a BI Publisher API, publicreportserviceclient.class, that was created by a contractor in 2007 that needs to be reengineered. Code anomolies appear when opening the class in Oracle JDeveloper 11g Release 2. The code follows. What is the purpose of the _mthclass$(String s) methode. There are many occurances of $, why? How can I remove these unnecessary $ characters in the code without destroying the code? Kinda lost, please help! Thanks.

To get this to work, I added every file defined in OWB_HOME\owb\bin\admin\owb.classpath to my classpath. So far it is working.
You could also look at OWB_HOME\owb\bin\win32\setowbenv.bat to see how all the environment variables are set before starting OWB.

as i tried to understand your errors.i only came to know that the device on which the file is riside is probebley offline,or if this is your temporary file then it might be the case that your device has run out of space.or disk space for your temporary file is not necessarily allocated at the file creation.
remedy :- you can remove unnecessary space from the disk by cleaning unnecessary files.

Platform 8.1 SP3 Package Installer error

I downloaded the Platform 8.1 SP3 package installer and received an error when installing. The error message states that the file is corrupt - error 2. I have tried this twice and get the same result each time. I have 2 GB of disk space free and am running Windows NT SP6. I'm going to try the SP2 package now.

Well obviously it is an Ant build.
It looks to just compile/build a web application into a war so you can deploy it where you want to.
You don't need to edit it every time you are making a new page. It should work for any generic struts web application laid out in the fashion it expects.

I was looking for a safe app or software that can clean extra and unnecessary files off of my imac - has anyone tried anything that they trust will work?
I am not well enough versed to just start deleting files - and would probably delete something that was needed

Here are some general tips to keep your Mac's hard drive trim and slim as possible
You should never, EVER let a computer hard drive get completely full, EVER!
With Macs and OS X, you shouldn't let the hard drive get below 15 GBs or less of free data space.
If it does, it's time for some hard drive housecleaning.
Follow some of my tips for cleaning out, deleting and archiving data from your Mac's internal hard drive.
Have you emptied your Mac's Trash icon in the Dock?
If you use iPhoto or Aperture, both have its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
If you store images in other locations other than iPhoto, then you will have to weed through these to determine what to archive and what to delete.
If you are an iMovie/ Final Cut user, both apps have their own individual Trash location that needs to be emptied, too!
If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive to disc, flash drives or external hard drive, older emails you want to save.
Look through your other Mailboxes and other Mail categories to see If there is other mail you can archive and/or delete.
STAY AWAY FROM DELETING ANY FILES FROM OS X SYSTEM FOLDER!
Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
Again, archive to disc, flash drives, ext. hard drives or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
Look in your Applications folder, if you have applications you haven't used in a long time, if the app doesn't have a dedicated uninstaller, then you can simply drag it into the OS X Trash icon. IF the application has an uninstaller app, then use it to completely delete the app from your Mac.
To find other large files, download an app called Omni Disk Sweeper.

When you install and launch it, let it do its initial automatic tests, then go to the cleaning and maintenance tabs and run the maintenance tabs that let OnyX clean out all web browser cache files, web browser histories, system cache files, delete old error log files.
Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
move these files/data off of your internal drive to the external hard drive and deleted off of the internal hard drive.
If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be archived or moved, also, to the optical discs, flash drives or external hard drive and then either archived to disc and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.

Tidy xml: clean xml data source form and characters

Hi,
the xml data set that I'd like to display with spry includes many special characters such as < and >, which are also used by xml to separate the individual data elements.
How can I replace those when the data are read, so that the data display correctly on my webpage. Currently any data set that has < or > characters is truncated.
I tried a replace function, but that did not work

The xml dataset is generated by Endnote, which is a database program
to organize scientific citations and which has unfortunately only very
limited xml functionality.

the person is online via a little green / red dot next to their
name. Layout changed to take full advantage of the website width. It
enables easier (and faster) navigation between the replies to a
post. 3. The new forum will natively recognise
youtube, google maps (new), images and links inserted into posts. No

Cleaning data containing characters &

Hi
One of the Columns in the table contained characters like &amp which is not recognised by XMLpublisher as such user is not getting an output. How can I identify the records containing such characters so that it could be fixed manually.

If you're not using substitution variables elsewhere in the same statement, it's easiest to turn off that feature using SET DEFINE OFF; then SQL*Plus will treat & as a normal character.
SET DEFINE OFF
insert into publication (id, title, year) values
(100, 'Research on Flu & Vacine', 2008)
insert into publication (id, title, year) values
(200, 'Human < Computer &amp Interaction', 2010)
-- If you need to use substitution variables later, turn the feature on again:
SET DEFINE ONOther options (in order of likelihood) include:
(1) Escape the special character
(2) Change the character that marks substitution variables (e.g. "SET DEFINE ~")
(3) Use CHR (38) instead of '&'
