up until July 27th this was working fine. i did add a feedburner....that shouldnt affect this...

Standard TCP/IP Port missing from drop down "Create a new port and add a new printer"

Somehow someone was on my print server and made some changes or added some software. I found that the "HP Universal Print Monitor" was my only other choice besides Local Port when I went to add a new printer on my 2012 print server
"Standard TCP/IP Port" was gone. I ended removing this from the registry (see below) as I could not find any other way to uninstall it. After this was removed I did reboot and I can still add a normal Standard TCP/IP Port under print
management in the ports section but this option is gone in the drop down when you add a printer under printers.
Any idea how to get this option back into the drop down list?

If the TCP/IP port option is missing you need to re-add it.
First, make sure that the following files are in C:\Windows\System32\:
tcpmib.dll
tcpmon.dll
tcpmon.ini
tcpmonui.dll
If they are missing, you will need to copy them there from either the i386 directory (if you have one) or from the original install CD.
Then, copy the following lines to NOTEPAD and save the file to your desktop as “printer.reg”

SVG Default filters missing from drop down in cs5

Hello,
I’m new to using Illustrator and am just learning my way around the effects. I used the svg filter on another project, but when i tried to open them in the drop down menu the only options are to apply or import now. Where did the default set go?

You have probably opened an SVG file which is having no filter applied on any object in the document and it was saved from Ai without Illustrator Editing capabilities or any other application, that is the reason why no default SVG filter is listed in your dropdown.
The concept is, default SVG filters in the dropdown are picked up dynamically at the Document creation time from the file placed at following location:
Win : C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS5\Support Files\Required\Resources\en_US\Adobe SVG Filters.svg
Mac : /Applications/Adobe Illustrator CS5/Adobe Illustrator.app/Required/Resources/en_US/Adobe SVG Filters.svg
I case you add another SVG filter (your own written filter code) to this file, it will also be picked up at the time of document creation in the drop down.
If you save an SVG file through Ai with objects having SVG filters applied to it, only those filters which were applied to the object in that particular document would populate on opening the SVG File in the SVG Filters Menu.
In case you want all the default SVG filter available in your dropdown you will have to save the document with Illustrator Editing capabilities Preserved. It is a check Box in the SVG Save options Dialog.

Email alias missing from drop-down when composing

My email aliases appear in iCloud mail / preferences / accounts, but when I go to select which one to send from one is missing. It's my husband's name but has always worked until recently. My hsuband tends to use his own iCloud address so hadn't noticed it wasn't working. It has disappeared from all devices synced with this account.
All my other aliases appear as a choice but not this one. Any ideas?

I've just solved this.
(It's amazing that Apple's now so big that even support personnel apparently don't know about this fix.)
• Aliases are now fully managed on icloud.com. Go there in your web browser, log in, and go to Mail.
• Go to the Mail prefs (gear icon, lower left), then the Composing tab. There you'll see an item called “Choose which addresses you would like to be able to send from.” (It’s light gray and easy to overlook.) In the rectangle below that, you'll see various email addresses. (I can see 4.) (See attached screenshot.) Turns out that’s actually a scrollable menu of email addresses. But since there’s no visible scroll bar — even when you mouse over the rectangle — there’s no indication that it's scrollable.
• You must click inside the rectangle and drag upward to reveal any hidden addresses below the first few. Depending upon how many addresses and aliases you have, your aliases (if active) should be somewhere in that list. (In my case, the 4, visible addresses were NOT my aliases. But upon scrolling down, there they all were!)
Inexplicably, not only has Apple changed the location of this stuff, they've disabled our aliases without any explanation! That's why the aliases are missing from Mail.app.
• Tick the checkbox in front of any address that you want to appear in Mail.app.
• Click 'Done.'
That's it! If Mail.app is already running, quit and relaunch it — and your aliases should now be available!

Connection Pool Name Missing from Drop Down when Creating a New Datasource

I'm running Weblogic Server 8.1. I've successfully created a connection pool for DB2 using the Non-XA JDBC driver from IBM (Version 7.1). When I attempt to create a datasource for this pool and un-check the "Honor Global Transactions" checkbox, the connection pool is missing from the dropdown on the next page of the wizard. If I check the checkbox, the connection pool appears in the list.
I experience this behavior on one instance of Weblogic Server, but not on another (I can see the pool whether or not the check box is checked).
Is there some setting on the connection pool that could cause this behavior?
Any help would be appreciated.

I would have you compare the JDBCConnectionPool entry
between the two instances.

Acrobat Color Management - Color Profiles Missing from Drop down list

I have created a custom .icc profile for my large format plotter. The .icc file is located in C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color, but it is not visible in my Color Profile drop down list, in the Color Management section of the Advanced Print Setup box, which is available via the Advanced option in the print dialog box. I have set up 10 users, some have Acrobat 8, some have acrobat 9. Of those 10 the profile is not showing up on one of the Acrobat 8's and one of the Acrobat 9's. To complicate matters, last night I sucessfully created a preset for an Acrobat 9 user and linked the profile, but after he logged off and back on today he can no longer see the profile either. New Content option missing from drop down

Hi,
I have created one folder, when i try to add content inside that folder.. In "Action" drop down i'm not able to find "New Content" option to create new content inside that folder.

Could be multiple different things.
1. do you have RW access to any content security groups? User Profile -- your security Roles will be listed as well as Account access if the system has them enabled.
2. Can you check in a file in the normal interface (normal check in page) with that folder value and it works?
3. Is the metadata for that folder locked to something you do not have access to? Owner made it read only? Security group defaulted to one you can not access?
It could be others too. Those are just ideas.

Facebook/Twitter missing from drop down menu.

For some reason my Facebook/twitter "quick" posts from the notification center pull down are not there and I have spent hours trying to figure it out... Any suggestions??

Creating New Smart Playlist by Album name - Missing From Drop Down List

I hope i'm not the only person with this issue but since upgrading to Windows Vista i have noticed a very annoying little bug with iTunes.
When trying to create a Smart Playlist there is no longer the option from the dropdown list to create a smartplaylist using the perameter 'Album'.
Any lists created when my PC was using XP still have the correct parameters in place but you cannot create any ne ones.
I have tried creating a new library without success. If i revert back to XP there is no problem.
Are Apple aware of this issue? If not, how do i contact them to report this bug?

Save As missing from drop down menu.

I don't have the Save As option in my file dropdown menu. I would like to save pages documents as word, I am unable to check that box its grayed out. if anyone can let me know how to resolve this issue I would greatly appreciate it. It only has a Save option and that does not allow me to save as word.

Before "saving" as Word I advise you to save the document in its native format, .pages. The conversion the Word isn't perfect. Then to get a Word document you have to Export to Word, either from the File menu or from the Share menu in Pages.

Mobile Me Alias not showing up in "From" drop down list in Mac Mail

I have a couple of older .mac/Mobile Me email aliases that used to show up as either [email protected] or [email protected] in Mac Mail in the From drop down list, as recently as yesterday. Today, all I can see for any alias that has both the .mac and @me options due to their age, is the @mac.com version. I want to use the @me version of the alias, but this option no longer shows in the list. Newer Mobile Me aliases only have the @me.com address and they show up fine. One last point. If I use the Mobile Me web mail app, I can see both the @mac.com and the @me.com choices in the From drop down list, so it's working as it should.
Mail isn't working correctly, but since I've not updated the Mail app recently, I suspect Mobile Me isn't sending both versions of the aliases over when the list is refreshed.

It started about a week ago. The "From" drop-dow is now missing in Mac Mail. It should appear beneath the subject line. I was working with MobileMe Chat support for about 3 hours. They cannot solve the problem and have now escalated it to the "Senior Advisor Team."

Inactive field "Project Versions' - from drop down

I have created two versions of project through Tcode CN41. When I am looking for comparision, the field Project Versions from drop down is Inactive ie Edit >Comparisations > Project Versions. I am sure that I am missing somethig but unable to detect the same to activate Project Versions.
Would appreciate any one can help me to find out how to get activation of Project Version from drop down.Reward points can be awarded for suitable solution.

Hi Sudhakar,
I guess you are referring to project versions, not CO versions...
In this case, please make sure you select at least one version and the current data in the selection screen or more than one versions in the selection screen.
You need to select the versions in the selection screen in order to compare them.
If you cannot find the relevant fields to enter the selected version in the selection
screen, please call the database profile and tick the flag on "version data".

You will find that this is application dependent. Most Apple applications such as Safari and Mail will use the "sheet" type of dialog boxes that you are referring. There is no way for the user to change that behavior. Other, non-Apple, applications like Firefox use a "modal" dialog box for printing etc. The modal boxes can be moved around so you can see the page behind.

Try Mail>Preferences>Accounts icon>Account Information tab>Click on the Outgoing SMTP server drop down, choose edit Server list, highlight the old one & click Remove.
(Such convolution is worthy of Windows® in my estimation)
