  • I have used EudoraOSE for many years and could click URLs in emails and be immediately connected to the website, sadlythis facility has been lost, help?

Eudora Open Source Edition Ver 1 powered by Mozilla. The version of Mozilla is 11.
The loss of the facility to click URLs in emails and be connected to the site is good. Now I have to copy and paste the link, a backward step. Help will be appreciated

This "original file cannot be found" thing happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

  • Error message when clicking link in Email

Hi, for the past day or two I have had a problem with clicking links in emails sent to me - mainly, I think, when confirming that I have signed up to a newsletter or forum, and needing to confirm my email address. This happens in Windows Mail, though I am sure I have been able to do it ok in the past. (I also use Internet Explorer 8 and can activate the links ok if I open the email in BT Yahoo Mail). So guess it is something to do with Windows Mail. The error message just says 'Application Not Found'..... can anyone help me get this sorted please? Thanks in advance!
NOTE: Have found the answer to this elsewhere. For anyone who needs to know, it is: Go to START button, select DEFAULT Programmes > Set Program Access and Computer Defaults. Make sure Microsoft (Windows Mail) is selected.

I randomly started getting this problem and fixed it by doing the following:
    # Close both the Firefox and Outlook (2010) programs. Make sure the processes have exited.
    # In Control Panel, go to "Default Programs".
    # Go to "Set default programs" and set Firefox as default.
    # Go back and then to "Set program access and computer defaults" and set Firefox and Outlook as your default browser and email program respectively.
    # Restart Firefox and Outlook at the problem should hopefully be fixed.
If this doesn't do the job, then you may want to attempt the registry hack described [http://www.pcworld.com/article/200103/fix_outlook_general_failure_error_for_email_links.html here] here.

  • Clicking links in emails in Thunderbird, Firefox disappears from view

When clicking links in emails in Thunderbird Firefox disappears from view along with its task bar button. Firefox is still open and works, if you know what you are clicking on and prevents other still visible windows being worked with as the mouse only "sees" the Firefox window invisible to human eye!

The irony that you sent me an email to confirm my post...by clicking a link... is not lost on me.

I'm downloading adobe software via my dad's account and when it's done loading, it has a message where it says it sent a verification email to my email address, but when I check it shows that it hasn't been set.  I keep clicking the resend email and it claims it does but it still hasn't sent the email to my address.  How do I fix this?

It is probabl,y sending the email to your Dad's email address if you are using his account.

My sister and I share an itunes account so she can click on my email and receive my imessages how can I make sure this stops happening?

One of you needs to use a separate Apple ID for iCloud, FaceTime & iMessage.
The Apple ID needs to be a verified email address. Once you have an email address, that can be verified, go here & create the ID:
    https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/wa/createAppleId
Then on one of the phones, turn off Contacts, Calendars, etc. for iCloud. You'll be prompted to keep the data or delete it from the phone, then turn off iMessage, FaceTime & delete the iCloud account...Settings>iCloud...scroll down...delete account. Then, setup iCloud using the new Apple ID, turn on iMessage & Facetime.
This will have no affect on the ID you both share for iTunes content, & you can continue to do so.

    Why, Please help.

Try giving your iPad a reset. HOld down the sleep and home keys, past when you see the red power down slider and until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again. If there's a glitch that can clear it.

  • I changed my password and it still doesn't take.

How many times must I tell you the same thing.  I changed my password and jot still doesn't take!

This password prompt is presented by your operating system, and is intended to keep you from accidentally installing software.
If this is your personal machine and you don't need a password to log into the computer when it first starts up, you can probably leave the password blank and click OK to get past this prompt.  If this is your personal machine and your normal password isn't working, check to make sure that CAPS LOCK is off, and type the password carefully.
If this is your work machine and it's asking for an Administrator password, well, you'll need to have a conversation with your friendly IT person.
If you're still stumped, you may need to reset the password on your Mac:

  • Google mail, click on a link in email and I have to click on "Allow" everytime, why?

I have attempted to fix this by uninstalling/reinstalling Norton, and I called Windows to no avail. They are telling me that it is Firefox/Mozilla that is doing this. It started happening about 3-4 months ago, just about the time that I thought that it was Dell remote support that did something to my laptop when they worked on it. They didn't touch anything in Firefox at all. The Pop-up says that Firefox is blocking and to click "ALLOW" or an "X" to close it out. You can click allow 10 times for the same website, but it still will have "allow" it to open. What is going on with your program? This is insane!!
I have https://mail.google.com open, and I click on the link in the email. It could be Applebee's, or Orchard Supply Hardware, or Sam's Club, It doesn't make a difference who I click on, I still have to click on the "Allow" in order to see the website. I have even put these links into the exception box under pop-up blocker and it still blocks it. I even unchecked the pop-up blocker to allow pop-ups and it still doesn't work. What am I missing here?
Even when I click on your link below, and the box pops up, I click on allow and it says:
The add-on could not be downloaded because of a connection failure on support.mozilla.org
(It is not the DirecTV program, because I just loaded that on today, and this problem has been going on for 3-4 months.)
Please have someone contact me to fix this.
    Version: 22.0
    Thank you...

I do not have that box checked... so now what?
    Thanks

  • How can I click on a link for email and have my email come up?

When I want to send an email from a website, the link will not connect to my email program. It does from Safari and other people's Firefox. I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it. It still doesn't work. HELP!

What email program or email site do you want Firefox to fire up to send the message?
In the Preference dialog, you might be able to select the program from a list. In some cases, you need to take extra steps to add it to the list.
    Firefox > Preferences > Applications
In the search box above the list, type '''mailto''' and then pause to let the list filter down. Does the drop-down control on the right side let you choose your preferred email program?

  • I can no longer open up any links on emails to any website. It just takes me to firefox but keeps the last page I was looking at. No problem using Safari however. ONly has happened since last update

I have an imac and using lastest firefox update. No links open to any website using firefox when I click on link on email. No difference if I right click and choose to open the link either

    Hi Olivier,
Thanks very much for that. it worked on my powerbook(running Tiger). I went to the link and followed the instructions and it worked. Did i mention that my dad who has a iMac running Leopard now has the same problem. I thought i would just do the same but the Preference in Mail for Leopard is of course different. There is no icon called "Server Settings" under Accounts section like there is on mine. Do you have a link for the same kind of instructions for Leopard?
    Thanks again,
    Bryce

  • There was away (before Mavericks) I could single click on an email and it would highlite but not open.  I could either delete or second click and the email would then open.  Can anyone tell me how to configure the prevue pane to that end with Mavericks?

There was a way (before Mavericks) I could single click on an email in the "prevue pane" and it would highlite but not open.  I could then either delete it or click again and it would open.  With Mavericks that doesn't seem to be available making it impossible to delete an email in the prevue pane before I open it.  Its frustrating to have to go through all the monkey motions when I know I want to delete it from the get-go.  Does anyone know who to configure for that operation?  I'm using an iMac.

Wow,  have you ever seen 1 Billion in hard cash?  If not, I assure you it exists as well.
Try not to pick apart what others write because you "have not seen it."
I run TWO programs for protection of my MAC now and have been for sometime b/c developers of them become complacid thinking MAC is impermeable.
My MAC locked me out of it and two externals and when I finally did get back into them Norton Anti-Virus found a "worm."  When I asked the program to find the origin, it was traced back to an email, as you said, that I opened unintentionally.  I still have two external HDs for backup and a cloud backup now.
When ClamX ran after Norton was finished, ClamX found what it called as "spyware," and it's origin was in my email also.  I tried to delete the emails after the programs (both) identified the infected files, however once deleted and the computer is restarted, they were still there because I ran the scans again.
Now since we are no longer talking about how to turn on and off the view pane in apple mail; riddle me this,  why can't the developers of these antivirus and antispyware/malware programs get together and develop ONE PRODUCT that catches 90-95% of the viruses/worms/spyware/malware ect that get onto MAC's?  Is it because they are too busy thinking they don't exist?
I still run both programs and feel protected between the two.  If Norton said it was a "worm" then I believe it was a worm and if ClamX called it "spyware" then I believe it is spyware.
I had to wipe my MAC and do a fresh install to get it working again, then I had to open one of those externals (which was very, very difficult) multiple times until finally it displayed the message "you can view, but not change the data."  I exported as much as I could to my cloud and I had to format both of those too.
I still run both programs as I feel protected between the two.  If Norton tells me it is a "worm" then I believe it is a "worm;" if ClamX tells me it is "spyware" then I believe it is "spyware."  If it happens again, which my hope is that it won't, I will be more than happy to send the infected files to you!!
Try not to "forum rage."  Support forums to post experiences and find answers, not nit-pick or claim not existance b/c you have not experienced it for yourself.

  • Zzxc: Links from email and web pages

When I click on an email link - Firefox opens two browser windows - My homepage AND the page relating to the link. Tried setting up DNS and that hasn't helped. This problem began with version 3.6 and none of the subsequent updates have addressed the problem.
    == Operating system ==
    OS 10.5.8

The suggestion to change the DNS server was to address the problem with "Server not found" appearing part of the time. Is this still happening?
Both tabs opening when clicking a link from e-mail is a known problem in Firefox 3.6.x versions. It has already been reported - and is currently targeted to be fixed in the next major version of Firefox (4.0).

  • How to reset apple ID security questions when theres no reset link, rescue email and apple support cannot be contacted?!?!!

I'm trying to purchase music with a iTunes gift card and iTunes is prompting me for ID security answers (which I swear Ive never answered before). I cannot reset them as there's no link, my account does not have a rescue email and...apple support seems to be down at the moment and I cannot find a contact number.
Any ideas on how to correct this issue?

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed, filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.
