Client device selfdelete?

Hi everyone.
Is there a way for a Clientdevice to delete itself from the Zenworksserver (something like a 'zlman sd' for clients) ?
I tried 'rug sd', but this command does only unregister the service. After unregister the devicename is still known at the Zenworksserver.

On the ZLM server you can configure in ZCC / Configuration / Inactive Device Cleanup Schedule that inactive devices gets automatically deleted. So if you remove the service from the device using rug sd, it does not refresh anymore and the ZLM server would see that they are inactive and would delete them depending the time you set.

Maybe i should explain my intentions for removing a server.
I want to reinstall a server. We have a unique installprocess for all servers, regardless of the OS. Our Servers uses a servicepartition. Removing the servicepartition will end up in a complete new installation of the server after the next boot.
i made a small filebundle to unregister the device, deleting the servicepartition on the server and reboot the server.
after that i've got a unregistered server and a registered server with a cryptic name, because of the identical servername.

After logging into the router's web interface, and trying to access the "wireless" settings screen, I get the following message:

(1) I set up this router several months ago, with two client devices. At the time, I did not get this message. Instead, I was able to access the web interface the way I always have with earlier Linksys routers.
(2) This happens if I access the router via wireless or Ethernet cable.
Any ideas on how I can get past this screen? The client devices are an iMac and MacBook Pro.

Hard reset the router for 2-3 minutes ..... once resetted ... power down the router for few seconds ... power up & reconfigure the router ...
See if it works or not ....

Possible to use wired 10/100 ethernet for client device?

I can't seem to find an answer to this question...
I have a Airport Express that I connect to my stereo for streamed music in my living room. It's connected to my existing wireless network (Linksys WRT54G, WPA on). Works great. Airport Express is not configured as a network extender, just connected to the existing network.
With this configuration (or any other configuration) is it possible to connect a client device (in this case my Tivo) to the wired ethernet port on the Airport Express and have it function? I currently have a wire pulled down my hallway to connect my Tivo, I'd love to get rid of that wire. And since my Airport Express sits right behind my entertainment center, it would be great if I could use it in this fashion.
Anyone know if this is possible? I guess the short version is, can I connect anything to the AE's 10/100 ethernet port and have it be a member of my network?

Well, I gave it a try. It's not quite working though. I get through the entire WDS setup with no problems. Configuration went fine. Yes, it has to be WEP, not WAP for setup with WDS.
It doesn't work though. The light on the Airport Express stays solid green, showing a valid connection. But I can't see my AE anymore, in iTunes or from the Airport Admin Utility.
In the Airport Admin utility, I did set the ethernet port to be active. When I connect the AE to the router via the 10/100 port, everything works fine. But it simply won't show up with just the wireless. Maybe you can either connect the AE to your network via Wireless WDS OR the ethernet port can be active, but not both?

Requesting location information from a client device (7921G)

Hey gents,
Can a client device such as the 7921G gather its own location? I think I remember a configuration example for location presence information on a client. But unfortunately I can't find the configuration guide anymore.
Can anyone point me in the right direction, please?

SCREEN LOCKED error "Searching for your client device. Please wait..."

This error is locking my routers configuration screen. "Searching for your client device. Please wait... If you haven't clicked on the Wi-Fi Protected Setup button on your client device, please do so now."
Is there a fix for this issue without restoring to the factory defaults?.
Your work around is not an option because restoring the factory defaults and reconfiguring the router manually is would be too time consuming in our small office and can afford the downtime. Is there a fix for this issue without restoring to the factory defaults? This problem has been crippling many of the Linksys routers for some time now; just search the error on goggle.

Power cycle the router. Unplug the power cord for 30 seconds and power it back on. If it still won't work, then you will have to reset and reconfigure the router. Please check the links below on how to reset the router and set it up for either cable or DSL:

Considering iPad as our client device from enterprise's perspective

Hi all,
We are working on the proposal to consider iPad as our client device (to access our server), which needs to develop our own application for iPad, and then install that application on the iPad & then sell our system (both client device & server) to the customer. Don't know whether the above solution is appropriate or not (from both legal & technical perspectives). And, don't know what technial support we can get from Apple company.
It should be great if you can help to connect to the right person in the Apple company and forwarding some related documents/process to me.

Time synchronization on client device

Is there any functionality in OLite 10g R2 which can maintain time synchronization on client devices (WM5 PPCs)? Obviously we could use some special application for such purpose, but it would probably need some user interaction, which we'd like to avoid...

I already have one working solution, but I don't like it at all, because it's too complicated for such trivial task. I created new OTL command, which takes an application executable filename as parameter and launches it on the device (this OTL script also has to be present on the device). Than I created simple SNTP client application and published it on the mobile server for client devices. Now I can schedule a device command which launches this application to perform time synchronization with some time server on regular basis.

CSM client device config

Hi,
On CSM Client >device> Access rules is showing the old config and not showing the active running config. Where as tools>preview configuration show me the running config.
How do I make the csm client show the running config.

When managing devices with CSM, it is expected that all configuration changes made to the device are made via CSM. Any changes made via PuTTY will not be reflected within CSM without first re-discovering the device's policies.
The screenshot does not indicate a specific error, only that policy objects alreadty present in CSM were re-used with this device. For the yellow triangle items, you will need to highlight each item and reference the matching description pane. But from the overall status, the discovery was completed successfully with three warnings.

Bind client device to specific platform

Is there any method how to force a device to register on mobile server as some specific platform?
To speak concretely - I have 2 WM5 PDAs on my desk. The first device (Symbol MC70) has XScale CPU, the other has ARMV4 CPU (Acer n300). I used the same installation cab for both devices (the cab for PPC2003 XScale), but each device registers itself to different platform in Oracle Lite Mobile Server (Oracle Lite PPC2003 ARMV4 versus Oracle Lite PPC2003 XScale). So I need to publish each application twice to be available for both devices even though both devices/platforms are fully compatible - this is very uncomfortable for application evolution...
I would be probably able to change the platform in the mobileadmin.dm$all_devices or something like this, but this would be no system-solution and could maybe cause some problems on client side (the platform is also stored on client device in polite.txt file afaik - "TYPE=WINCE_XScale_CS_OLITE_2003").

What you are deploying is a Client Settings policy, not the client itself. This is akin to a Group Policy Object being linked to an OU. The machines in the collection which already have the ConfigMgr client will process those policies, but additional non-client
machines added to the collection will not automatically install the client.
As Torsten indicated, you can deploy the client to these machines using the manual client push method. Simply right click on the clients themselves (or the collection) and select Install Client. If doing it at the collection level, I recommend
against selecting "Always install the client software" in the wizard as it will force an unnecessary repair of the existing ConfigMgr clients. I would recommend testing this on one machine in the collection in question before attempting to do them in bulk.
Note that this requires that a Client Push Installation account be configured (Administration > Site Configuration > Sites > Client Installation Settings > Client Push Installation > Accounts tab) which has admin rights on the clients.
You *DO NOT need to enabled site-wide client push installation* to be able to use the Install Client method in the console. Enabling this will force the client to attempt installation on ALL systems that ConfigMgr sees.

1242AG WGB and Client Devices

Hi, is there a way to connect multiples AP to a root AP which is connected to the LAN and at the same time allowing client devices to connect to those AP. Perhaps, using 2.4 Ghz for client devices and 5 Ghz for WGB. Or perhaps using the AP as a repeater?

Home Sharing not indexing properly on client devices

Just installed updated to iTunes 11 on my WinXP box (I know, I know get with times.) I turned on Home Sharing for use with the iPads in the household. I can see(and I think play) all of the songs in my libary. The problem I am having is indexing. The iPads and iPhones only recognize about 1/50 albums and 0 artist tags for sorting purposes. The artist sort is empty. If I sort by songs and click on a song (again, all songs are there) they do in fact have album artwork, album and artist. But if I sort songs by artist, all but 1-5 sort under A (as if they had no artist tag). If I browse the songs the computer everything is behaving properly. All client devices appear to be getting the same index, which means problem is the host?
I am not sure whether it was working in iTunes 10 or not.
I have done the following:
Turned Homesharing off then back on on the host
Uninstalled/reinstalled iTunes
Repaired Bonjour
Deleted and re-added the library
Reset all devices including routers.
Any ideas?

Let's use contesso.com as an example. Let's say the Exchange 2007 server's internal and external
name are currently mail.contesso.com. Now I am going to introduce a new Exchange 2013 server named mail2.contesso.com. The Exchange Server Deployment Assistant says that we should make the external DNS entry point mail.contesso.com to the 2013
server and legacy.contesso.com point to the 2007 server. That takes care of external clients. I don't understand how internal clients will find the correct server because they are all configured for mail.contesso.com which internally points to
the 2007 server. We have over 200 users with multiple devices. We do not want to be forced to create new Outlook profiles or change the configuration of their mobile devices.

Client Device printing.

I am trying to get printing setup so that I can print from my Unix Application Server to a printer on my windows desktop. On my Servers I am using CUPS for print services and I can see jobs moving from the Application Server to the SGD Host which I have only one. I can see the jobs show up in the spool but they do not show up in the webtop queues. The print log shows the following when I try and print on the SGD Host:

Yes, I have been through the documentation. I have isolated the problem to the SGD Server by working my way through the checklists. The results on the check for display say:
- Printing services available
- Jobs spooled: 0
Total jobs spooled: 0
I have checked the Printing tab section of the admin console and everything is in order there.
I am not using an array just a single host and trying to configure for the first time.
Ghostscript is found and worked in the scripts.
I tried printing the testpage using the script and I also tried direct but received nothing on the client.
Using the lpstat -t command I get the following:

I have verified that print jobs are transferred from the Application hosts to the SGD Server. I am able to locate them in /opt/tarantella/var/spool where they stay for awhile then they disappear. If I watch the CUPS console I see the job appear and it shows as completed then it appears again as a held job and then eventually aborts.
it appears that what ever is supposed to be sending the job to the client is either not receiving the job or is failing but I am not sure what and cannot find any errors that point to a problem.

Agentry Android Client - Device Language Problem

Hi all,
We are using SMP 2.3 SP04 and Agentry 6.1.4 versions both for client and server.
There is no problem when the client's device system language is English. But when it is a diferent language, gives an error.
Check the screenshot below,
Previous client versions are worse, because they all just crash after "Checking Style Definition" step.

One idea for non-English language is that all the localization files or configuration files (*.ini) or any edited files were saved in encoding type: Unicode. If you are using Notepad to save your changes, when you press save or save as there is an Encoding type selection next to the "Save" button. Make sure it is Unicode (not Aschii).

If you look at the Wiki Unicode characters support Non-English or character type better.
The above is just a trick we use in support. Also when Agentry implemented multilingual support the code supported Unicode encoding.
This is one idea.
Another idea is to dive in the log files just before the failure occurred for Replacing Definition for EditFieldStyle. Check which file it used. Try opening it in Notepad and click Save As - See what encoding it is using (The Encoding will be displayed next to the Save button).

Clients Installed on client devices but the CM2012R2 server says no client

I'm working with the evaluation version of Configuration Manager 2012R2. I've gotten through to the point where I install the clients, which I have set up to push install. When I check each computer's task
manager, I see that ccmsetup.exe is indeed running. However, the Configuration Management Console shows No Client for every device on our network. I'm working with about 80 devices in total all through one Active Directory site (the sole Active Directory for
our network). I haven't been able to find much help on this yet and was wondering if anyone could offer any possible solutions?

Thanks for the help! I'm working with a standalone primary server (small environment - 80 or so devices). I had "use HTTPS or HTTP" turned on in the site properties, but I did still have HTTPS selected in the Distribution Point properties. I changed
the setting to HTTP and tried running the ccmsetup.exe file again on my client.
