Client logon user name

Hello!
I would like to control who is accessing to some of our intranet web pages, and I want to take their logon user id , but without prompt.
According to what I have read here, it is not possible in jsp.... I want to catch the client's user name.
But could it be possible with a signed applet? I have never signed an applet. so I want to know if the solution could be to create a signed applet to get this information and store it into a database.
Can anyone help , please?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Satesh,
this information is stored in the ZLOGIN_SCREEN_INFO document, General Text document class (created in Transaction SE61).

  • Last Logon User name query attribute not populating

I have created a query that looks for all desktops in my environment and returns the hostname of the PC, the computer system model, and the last logon user name of each machine.  The problem is about 200 PCs do not have the last logon user name field
populated.  The remaining 350 desktops and all laptops are reporting this.  I have been looking at this for the last several days but cannot find a reason why.  I verifed the PC have had at least one person log into them.  I thought maybe
it is an issue with the SCCM client on the PCs so I have tried unistalling/reinstalling the client on a few machines.  After the reinstall is complete, the query shows my domain account as last logged into that PC, as I would expect.  However, no
matter how many times I log into and out of the same PC with a different domain account, the query doesn't show this.  Can anyone help with some direction with this?  I am running Config Manager 2012 SP1 CU2.
    Thanks in advance.

Audit logon events it set to capture success and failures.  The Heartbeat Discovery is set to send every week.
Check your DDM log on site server and look for any error messages.
I personally run my heartbeat discovery every day.
You can try to adjust your discovery interval and see if that helps. If you can run it manually and it works, I can't think of anything that it would prevent it from working site wide with currently scheduled interval.
Also, if you have adjusted your aged data maintenance tasks, this is something worth noting:
The default schedule for Heartbeat Discovery is set to every 7 days. If you change the heartbeat discovery interval, ensure that it runs more frequently than the site maintenance task Delete
Aged Discovery Data, which deletes inactive client records from the site database. You can configure the Delete Aged Discovery Data task
    only for primary sites.

  • Custom report toshow the "Last Logon User Name"

Is it possible to create a custom report to display the "Last Logon User Name" field that appears in the Properties of each computer object ?

Yes, download the RDL file and modify the report. If the user name is not in one of the current datasets, then you have to add it first.

  • Clear last logon user name

I have seen various threads that you can clear the last logon username by registry or policy but I only want to do it once - i.e. logon as local administrator, do some work and then reset the logon screen so it is blank fresh for user. In XP it was simply
a question of clearing a couple of registry keys - any way to do the same in Win 7 ?
    Thanks
    Ian Burnell, London (UK)

    Hi Ian
It isn't clear what exactly you are trying to do?
If you enable the policy to clear the last logon user name, this changes the logon screen to one that does not display any user names. Each user must type their user name and password to log on.
If you disable this policy, then the standard logon screen is displayed with all user names visible. The user is still required to type their password.
It would be very easy to quickly switch this screen using the registry.
    Create 2 registry files.
    1. DontDisplayLastUserName_Enabled.reg with the following text.
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
    "dontdisplaylastusername"=dword:00000001
    2. DontDisplayLastUserName_Disabled.reg with the following text.
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
    "dontdisplaylastusername"=dword:00000000
To switch the logon screen simply Merge the appropriate file.
    Hope this helps.
Thank You for using Windows 7

  • Logon user name

    Hi All,
How to get Logon user name for the partner (Inside sales person ) of the customer.
    Thanks
    Saritha

    Hi,
Take the KUNNR or ADRNR field from KNVP(by passing that customer No and Partner function(PARVW) of Sales Person) or
from VBPA  by passing the Sales Doc no and PARVW of the Sales person and pass that KUNNR or ADRNR field to KNA1 table and get the name for that Customer.
Use USR02/ USR03 and USR01 tables to get the User related Info.
    reward if useful

  • How to get the CLIENT OS USER NAME using Apex

    Dear All,
I know there are many other posts (some of them are very old) discuss about this issue. But unfortunately most of the posts endup with NO PROPER ANSWER. But still I believe that tehre has to be some way to do this. So this is my requirement.
I am using custom authentication module and I want to get the CLIENT MACHINE OS USER NAME for that. But I do not want to do any authentication against the client user domain.
    How can I get this?
    * There are some other way to get this using VB Scripts. But thats not a real solution for this due to followings
    01. User has to manually allow to run VB scripts. So if user dissable that then we canot get the required info
    02. Its working only with specific browsers(Mainly in IE and also we can get that thing work after installing plugins to Firefox.). So this is also depends with the bvrowser and plugings.
What I want to do is to get this info using a common way which is not depends with the browser or any thirdparty plugins.
    Thanks,
    Alex

Its good that you did some searching in the forums before you posted the question.
Most modern browsers would consider what you require as a security/privacy issue and prevents such information from being transmitted available(easily). IE might let you pull out this using a VB script or activex control. Browser specific addons/extension could work but they need some kind of installation to start with. Java could be a way to do it with all browsers, but the end user still has to grant access before it can do any such thing.
Lets say you were able to pull out such information from an end user, what would be next, get his mail id from outlook ? , access his browsing history, steal credit card information or read cookies?
Add to that , what if the end user accesses it using any other OS(linux, macintosh or even a smartphone) ? what about windows vista and windows 7 OS's , are you going to write code to handle all those cases too ?
Here's a blog posting which explains using NTLM authentication with Apex(it still needs configuration from the end user)
What I want to do is to get this info using a common way which is not depends with the browser or any thirdparty plugins.I guess if this is the question, then the answer would have to be no. I don't think you will be able to find a method that passes this information from the client side without any modification/configuration at their side

  • How to change the Client n user details for a model in Production

    Hello Friends,
I have an application which is calling RFC function module from SAP R/3.
In development system while creating Model I have entered the Back end details like Client, User Name and Password.
If I transport the application into Production, The Client and user name will be different. In this case How would I change the client n user name details.
Do I have import again in Production. But does sounds a good idea.
    ThanQ for Ur time.
    Cheers.. Sam

When you create Model first time, to import Interface of RFC you would need to logon into R/3. But once you are done with the Interface, your connection to R/3 will be determined by the client and UID details in JCo connection.
Now when you transport your code from DEV to QA system, the JCo connection with the same name should be there. or else, you would need to create the same in the new server. I dont see a need to reimport the model. If that is the case, then developers would have to spend huge amount of time doing this job alone.
    Hope this solves ur problem.
    Regards
    Murali.

    Hi Ychinnari,
I have tested on my local environment and can reproduce the issue, as
Vaishu00547 mentioned that the issue can be caused by the Execution Account you have configured in the Reporting Services Configuration Manager is not correct, Please update the Username and Password and restart the reporting services.
Please also find more details information about when to use the execution account, if possible, please also not specify this account:
This account is used under special circumstances when other sources of credentials are not available:
When the report server connects to a data source that does not require credentials. Examples of data sources that might not require credentials include XML documents and some client-side database applications.
When the report server connects to another server to retrieve external image files or other resources that are referenced in a report.

  • Save user name after failed attempt to login in EPM add-in logon window

    Hello,
In BPC 10 for NetWeaver when  wrong password is entered in web client (in logon window) the error message shows but the user name field isn’t cleared. So, user doesn’t need to enter his user name again, he just needs to enter the right password. When wrong password is entered in EPM add-in logon window, the user name field is cleared. So user has to enter his user name again. Is there any way to make EPM add-in logon window to behave like web client logon window, i.e. not to clear the user name field?

    No.

I am attempting to apply a group policy to a group of computers and I will get this event ID and error code generated.  I can unc to the gpt.ini file.  What can I do to resolve this problem?  My structure is like this:  I have a 2003

to the local DC that is much closer - how can I change how GPO is processed on this computer?

I have two Domain Controllers Main ( Main DC Win 2012) and Second DC Win 2008.
the date of some policies is not out of date....
please check these files to know the problem.

It is not possible to create a new iCloud account using a Windows machine. You must create the account using a Mac (10.7.5 or more) or an IOS device (iPhone etc). Once that is done you can sign into and use the account on your Windows machine.

  • "Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password" even with correct Credentials

I have networked PCs before many times successfully, so this is not my first time trying to network PCs in a home environment. Though I’m wondering if Windows 8.1 is part of the problem.
I would have thought that for sure, until one of the new laptops running W8.1 would not connect to any of the other three PCs/Laptops running W8.1. Yet these other three W8.1 PCs/Laptops CAN connect to this laptop. Then it gets a little more interesting:
this same laptop that couldn’t connect to those three W8.1 PCs/Laptops, CAN connect to a Windows 7 desktop, and a XP Laptop, and those two can also connect back to it without issue. It’s almost like my network is divided in half, and only half can talk to
each other. But then when I thought it couldn’t get any more interesting, I realized the first three W8.1 PCs/Laptops can talk to the others, it’s just that the others (W8.1 Laptop, W7 Desktop, XP Laptop) can’t talk back to them without getting the error,
"Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password” even though the username and password are 100% correct.
I don’t fully understand this error, because on the surface, it’s just WRONG!
My username and password are correct, but it appears something somewhere is interfering or hijacking the authentication process. Three of the computers (laptops) are brand new, just purchased last week and setup this week. The HostPC is also fairly new,
    just purchased last month.
I am not using a HomeGroup, and have removed all computers that were part of a HomeGroup. I have enabled file sharing and network discovery and enabled “Use user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers” on all PCs.
I have DSL and am using the wireless modem provided by my ISP which has router functionality built into it. It is a Sagemcom Model: F@ST 1704N.
All computers are connected wirelessly. Time is correct on all PCs. I cannot use Group Policy, since they're all Standard or Home edition. DHCP is enabled and all computers are on the same subnet, using the 192.168.254.x range of ip addresses.
The six computers are as follows: (I figured this may make is easier to visualize the layout)
    HostPC: HP Desktop W8.1
    PC Name: DrsBlend
U/N: DrsBlend  p/w: 123456 (not showing my real password)
    PC1: HP Laptop W8.1
    PC Name: DrsBlend-1
    U/N: DrsBlend    P/W: 123456
    PC2: HP Laptop W8.1
    PC Name: DrsBlend-2
    U/N: DrsBlend    P/W: 123456
    PC3: HP Laptop W8.1
    PC Name: DrsBlend-3
    U/N: DrsBlend    P/W: 123456
    PC4: HP Desktop W7 SP1
    PC Name: DrsBlend-4
    U/N: DrsBlend    P/W: 123456
    PC5: Dell Laptop XP SP3
    PC Name: DrsBlend-5
    U/N: DrsBlend    P/W: 123456
Every PC stated above has the same user name and password and is logged-in with the username, DrsBlend and the password 123456. The "Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password” happens when trying to access HostPC, PC1, or PC2 from PC3, PC4, or
    PC5.
The HostPC can see and connect to all the PCs, but only PC1 and PC2 can talk back or access the HostPC.
It’s like the HostPC and PC1, and PC2 are in their own little clique, and can talk back and forth to each other. Those three PCs can also talk to PC3, PC4, and PC5 as well, but PC3, PC4, and PC5 cannot talk back to them (HostPC, PC1, PC2).
Profile corruption? I would have entertained that thought, but the fact the first three PCs can access and talk to one another kind of defeats that idea, and the fact the PCs were just recently setup.
Firewall? Disabled, and disabled TrendMicro with no change. With them on/off, the first three PCs can still talk to each other and the rest of the PCs.
    Anyone have any additional suggestions?

    Hi,
How did you connect to other PCs? Do you use RDP to connect to other PCs? If so, check the version of the RDP, as I know, some low version RDP can't connect to higher Windows like 8.1.
And could you please tell us the detailed information about how the six PCs connect to the home network?
    Can PC1, PC2, PC3 ping back to host PC, PC1 and PC2?
You can also run command " rundll32.exe keymgr.dll, KRShowKeyMgr " view the credentials stored in your PC,check whether this issue is related with some old credentials stored in your system.

How we can find how many Users Logon into the Portal and how we can find that users Names in Portal.

    Hello Vijay,
If you are at all interested in a 3rd party application to make your life a bit easier getting stats on your users, you could check out Click Stream by Sweetlets.
Click Stream uses the Usermanagement (UME) API to get more information about the user, groups, roles, LDAP attributes etc. and offers you the ability to filter this information in nearly any report at the click of a button.
Click Stream also uses the PCD API to get information about the pages your users are visiting too.
In the very near future Click Stream will also have iView recording to monitor iViews, telling which iViews have been clicked, etc.
Here are some reviews on the SAP EcoHub from people who have used it: http://ecohub.sdn.sap.com/irj/ecohub/solutions/clickstream
Please just let me know if you have any question or if you are open to test drive Click Stream. We will certainly help as best as we can.
    Good luck.
