Client proxy Http connection

Hi experts,
When doing abap client proxy.. in receiver channel i speficied XI adapter.. its asking the Http destination... so i went sm59 tcode and trying to create Http connection.. what are the parameter i should give...
Connection type is "H"
in the host name what should i give host name of PI or R3.. and what is the service number how to find out the service no? what should be the prefix string. what is need of this? .. in logon & security tab.. In user name and password , do we give the values of R3 system or PI system...
Actually i gave the values like
, in Host ---> i gave the Hostname of PI system and service no as 8000
in prefix string --- > i gave '/sap/xi/engine?type=entry'
(but i got the error like 'Query string not allowed')
Please guide me
Regards,
Balaji

Hi abhishek,
There is no destination for r3 in type "H".
i want to create the HTTP connection to r3. so i gave the hostname of R3 system.. the system instance is '00'' so i gave the service name as 8000... i gave the user name , password of r3.
other setting are
Logon procedure---> SAP standard
status secure protocol----->
              SSL--> Active
SSL client certificate---> Default SSL client (standard)
I dint give the single course  i gave /sap/xi/engine?type=entry only. But still he saying "Query string is not allowed".

Balaji

Any suggestions on what I can ask my IT department to change on the server so I can connect would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Jeremy,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
From the error and other description it seems that there is some misconfiguration with setup. You need to provide the FQDN name of the server as might server name is not resolving its name properly and so facing issue. As seems from below details:
    [2014-Nov-26 15:52:20] RDP (0): Final rdp configuration used:gatewayhostname:s:gato.gibbscam.com
    screen mode id:i:0
    use multimon:i:1
    session bpp:i:24
    full address:s:dev-JeremyS2.gibbs.local
Configuration used and full address name both appears different so please verify configuration accordingly.
Please check the DNS record, check certificate whether it match FQDN name of the server with certificate name, also try to check to connect with IP address and see what result you can find.
You can follow below guide to configure RD Gateway and after that verify the result.
    1. Deploying Remote Desktop Gateway RDS 2012
    2. How To Work with RD Gateway in Windows Server 2012
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.

  • Proxy https connection with client certificate credentials

Hello, we are building a application like netvibes/iGoogle which allows users to have portlets with rss feeds in them. The portlets are all loaded using ajax and therefore, the RSS feeds must exist on the same domain as the portal. If they don't, you run into problems with cross-domain security issues with ajax. Usually to get around this you just proxy the connection on the server which is very simple with rss feeds that are exposed via http. We however have many feeds that are exposed via https. These feeds likely require a client certificate to authenticate them. Therefore, just doing a basic proxy (take the distant url and open a new connection on the server) won't work because it will build the new connection with the servers credentials and not the users.
Is there a way to build the connection on the server using the users credentials?? How can we proxy this connection over https?
If anyone has ideas, please let me know.
    Thanks!

in fact you are more using a reverse-proxy than a proxy since it is on the server part..
You have to put all the SSL server part on the reserve-proxy itself and not on the final RSS feed. Then, the reverse-proxy will authenticate your client and gets its certificate. After that, either this proxy will open a plain connection (no ssl) towards the RSS, or you can also open a ssl connection but this means you must create a client certificate for the proxy. It just depends on the security level you need, and I used this solution many times in professional hosting.
    hope it helps !

  • Client Proxy - HTTPS?

    Hey
Client proxy based on objects in PI -> The communication between the implementing ABAP code in SAP ERP and PI when calling the proxy, can this be HTTPS or is it default/always HTTP?
    Thanks!
    regards Ole

    Hi,
There is a concept of Logical Port that can be potentially used with ABAP proxies to integrate with XI using HTTP destination (RFC destination of type HTTP with url and HTTPS port for SSL communication)
Probably you can look for it.
As per your above post the previous destination willbe replaced.
At a time only one destination could be maintained either for HTTP ot HTTPs
    Thanks

  • Client-Proxy-Server:  Connection refused

I was meddling with a client-proxy-server toy program.
Pardon my poor code construction. I have never had any previous knowledge in this field.
I have created  a client side program with my main that handles IO serially.
ProxY consists of 2 unscynchronized threads each interacts with client and server respectively.
Packet exchange within ProxY is relayed using a PacketBuffer object.
Server consist of a single threaded service. Below is the code for my main.
    import java.io.IOException;
    import java.net.ServerSocket;
    import java.net.Socket;

  • TMG Proxy not connecting internal HTTPS connection

    Dear All,
I am working government org, and there are many internal HTTP and HTTPS sites which is going/thought to proxy tmg(2010) server.internal clients are able to connect to http sites but they are not connect to https sites and all server application are come
    to internal intranet network
i am trying to add https access rule and some basic troubleshooting but governmant clients not able to open internal application https sites.
my question is that is that possible?
if possible how to make a rule or redirect https connection?
    Thanks for advanced

    Hi,
    Pelase check the article below.
In some business scenarios, internal clients protected by Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2004 may require access to secure Internet Web sites. This scenario can be configured as follows:
Configure a tunneled Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) end-to-end secure HTTP (HTTPS) connection between the internal client and the external Web site.
Configure clients to request the external Web site using Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), and then redirect the request from the ISA Server computer to the site using HTTPS.

  • Using ACE to load balance HTTP/S traffic between client & proxy server using tcp 8080

    Folks,
I have a scenario where ACE is in load balancing connections to a bunch of Websense servers in a one-armed topology.  ACE presents a single VIP to web browser clients and each client's browser proxy configuration is populated with the VIP DNS name.  Traffic then gets load balanced between the Websense servers.  The problem arises due to Websense requiring the 'X-Forwarded-For' HTTP header in order to obtain the source IP of the client.
ACE inserts this header into the standard HTTP 'proxied' traffic but doing this for HTTPS traffic has required the configuration of the ACE SSL proxy client server.
So the problem I have is this:
How to configure ACE to load balance both HTTP & HTTPS applications using a single VIP and tcp port number ie tcp 8080
The ACE hardware being used is ACE20-MOD-K9  -  MODULE
I have attempted to use a L7 class map to match all ciphers and attach this to a L7 Policy-Map but the documentation highlights the fact the 'match cipher' configuration is only available on the ACE appliance.
I believe I am on the correct track.  The HTTPS traffic must be identified and used to match against PolicyA and HTTP traffic matched against PolicyB
I'm looking for ideas!  I'm hopeful someone must have solved this problem previously!!
    Regards,
    Simon

    Hi Simon,
The classification has to work on different ports. Whether client types http or https doesn't matter to client. His request will reach VIP which will classify the traffic based on port, protocol first and then it can look into further detail to send the traffic to appropriate serverfarm.
    You can class-map match-any xxxxx
    2 match virtual-address x.x.x.x tcp any
and then you configure further classification on the basis of L7 like  url, header etc.
But again, you will still need SSL termination on ACE.

    Kanwal

  • How to establish an Https connection from a html client

Hi! Im totally new to Java so my question is rather"stupid". I have an html page that sends a post to a servlet
    <form name="form" action="servlet/ServletLogOn" method="post">
I want to establish an https connection between the client and the servlet. How is it?
    Thanks in advance.

Ignore the previous poster's reply - he was obviously mislead by my original post re: JSSE.
How you install an SSL certificate on your webserver is completely dependent on the webserver you are using. Ususally there is some functionality for doing this from the administrative interface - usually involves pasting some text from the CA's (certificate authority, e.g. Verisign) site into a text box and designating a port number for SSL traffic (use 443, it's internet standard). I've actually only done this for Netscape Enterprise Server - you may want to find a forum for users of your webserver to ask for specifics.

    hi
This is the problem relleated to the HTTP connections, since using the proxy theXML travels to the destination, on your receiveing system make sure HTTP service are active.
in R/3 run this report :SPROX_CHECK_HTTP_COMMUNICATION  you will get the error then proceed with the below steps to fix it.
YOur HTTP seriveces on the R/3 have some problem.....
Goto SMICM>goto>servicess you should see the HTTP service running with the ABAP port entry, if this is up then check
SICF--->press f2 you should not have any proxy check there.....
if these are fine then problem is with the Sproxy configuration........

  • How  to create and test HTTP connection for proxy

    HI
Can anybody help me by providing step by step guide for how to create a HTTP connection for inbound abap proxy?
How i will get sure that connection is working properly?
    Thanks
    Debraj

    Hi Debraj,
You should be able to do that in SM59 of the XI Box.
Create the connection under "HTTP Connections to R/3 System".
Provide the Target Host IP Address.Service Number and Path Prefix.
Select the logon procedure as SAP Standard.
    SSL Inactive.
    Provide Logon details.

  • OSB call to remote Web Service via https proxy and https CONNECT problem

    Hi
I have a service that calls a web service on another server as a web service. This call is via https and the certificate validation raises no errors.
I now want this call to go via a squid httpd proxy on port 3128 on some machine. So I would like to use HTTP CONNECT (RFC 2817) proxying,. But when I set up this as a proxy, I am getting "Certificate chain" error messages. The certifcate chains is no different now from when I called without the http proxy, so what am I doing wrong? Does OSB support HTTP CONNECT?
    -Johan

The exeption we are getting is BEA-380000
General runtime error: [Security:090477]Certificate chain received from XXX - 123.123.123.123 --> test.salesforce.com was not trusted causing SSL handshake failure.
This is of course not relevant if the callout were using CONNECT. In the CONNECT scenario, OSB would not care about XXX's certificate.

  • Configuring Sender HTTPS Connection -- Server/Client Authentification

    Hello together,
I need to configure an HTTPS Sender Connection with client and server authentication. I have already check the documentation however I am still not sure about the particular steps. My questions are as follows:
    - Do I configure the HTTPS connection on the ABAP or JAVA stack?
    - Is it necessary to setup an HTTP sender communication channel
    - How does the URL look like (compared to HTTP connection)?
I have provided XI certificates to the client and the client has provided the certificates to me already. So I guess I have to import them somehow on XI.
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thank you very much.

    Hi
Please follow below steps for HTTPS configuration as sender
You need to use either SOAP adapter or XI Adapter for HTTPS connectivity.
Here configure the Security Check for Inbound Messages.

No configuration is required in the adapter-specific sender channel configuration (inbound) of the Integration Directory.
The authentication/authorization is performed by the J2EE Engine and therefore needs to be configured with the Visual Administrator. This configuration is described in the J2EE Engine Administration Manual and is outlined in the following section.
When a message is to be sent to the Adapter Engine (and ultimately to the Integration Server), the J2EE Engine serves as the SSL Server and presents its server certificate to the client as part of the SSL handshake procedure.
    Client-Side Configuration (Required)
The public certificate of the trusted authority (CA) that signed the public certificate of the SSL server needs to be imported to the list of trusted certificates of the SSL client. This allows the SSL client to accept the certificate of the server in the SSL handshake.
    Server-Side Configuration (Optional)
If basic authentication is used, no additional configuration is required on server side.
If client certificate authentication is requested or required by selection of the corresponding option in the SSL service and configuration of the ClientCertLoginModule in the SecurityProvider service (using the J2EE Administration Tool), additional configuration steps are required.
If the server certificate check on the client side is successful, the client sends its public certificate to the server as part of the SSL handshake (when requested). The server needs to map the certificate to a user for authentication and will then check the authorization based on the security roles of the user.
Perform the following steps to allow the J2EE engine to map the client certificate to a user:
           1.      Import the CA cert of the client certificate to the list of trusted certificates (TrustedCAs keystore view in the keystore service) and import the client cert to an arbitrary keystore view.
           2.      Map the client certificate to an existing user with role SAP_XI_APPL_SERV_USER by using the Visual Administrator, SecurityProvider service, UserManagement tab page.
