Coldfusion 8 on linux virtual dedicated server 500 error

I've been trying to get my coldfusion server running on my virtual dedicated server for two days now and am stumped.  Server boots and connects to the apache server with no error messages displayed in SSH, but when I go to the administrator page I get the following error displayed :
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator to inform of the time the error occurred and of anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
My cfserver.log file reads (from the last reboot) as follows :

I'm desperate for help... this is wracking my brain.  Thank you in advance.

got it fixed.  turns out that somehow during either my installation or someting i did after installation corrupted my liscense file for CF.  Uninstalled (with a lot of hesitation) and re-installed, and wallah, my cf server is running great!

Dreamweaver's CS4 & CS5 Database etc cababilities needed Dedicated or Virtual-Dedicated Server Hosting to work, NOT shared hosing environments?

What if my shared database can NOT accessed by external programs?
It's not clear what you mean by this. However, I think you might be referring to the security restriction imposed by most hosting companies that prevents connection to MySQL from another server. This is quite normal, and has no effect on the way Dreamweaver connects to the database.
When you upload your files, they connect to the database locally on the host's server. Also, if you are using your remote server as a testing server for your site (not recommended), Dreamweaver uploads a hidden file to the remote server to connect locally with MySQL, thereby getting round the problem of connecting from an external source.
By the way, please don't change the subject line of posts in a thread. It makes it difficult to follow a conversation through email.

  • Internal server 500 Error

We are using OC4J 9.0.4 version. I deployed an application and the problem is we get "Internal server 500" error intermittently. The application runs fine usually but it does not run on few occasions. Any ideas?

    Hi,
    There could be many reasons.
    Check
the permission levels of Containers are set properly.
Try creating the containers manually and run the app, so you can distinguish what goes wrong
Check the URL, storage key, SHA if using it
If you found this post useful, Please "Mark as Answer" or "Vote

  • CF10 Server 500 error

    Hi There,
We have just installed CF10 on a Win 2008 R2 server setup with IIS. We are in the process of migrating an existing CF9 application that functions 100% to CF10.
On testing however the application generally works however two programs (one returning a editable list and the other that renames an image both throw IIS Server 500 errors. CF10 is not providing me with the normal web error messages. The exception log is cryptic to me and is of no help.
Any pointers as to what could be the cause or how to make CF10 supply the normal error message so that I can identifty the problem and resolve it?
    Regards

    Hi RichardHR,
Could you please follow these steps to enable Detailed Error Messages in IIS7 and try again?
    Thanks!,

  • Video Tut: Arch Linux (x64) Dedicated Server Setup (vncserver, lxde)

I was bored this evening so I decided to throw a small video tutorial together about this.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-jcl9an3es
Could this be useful for some people? Oh and if you guys have any constructive feedback to say about the video please tell me.
And yeah I know, you shouldn't be using Arch if you need a video tutorial for installing it. It's meant to be a shortcut for people who already know most of their shit but can't be arsed to google around for a few commands and procedures they can't remember IF they can check them all from one package.

I cannot open your FTP from chromium. Filezilla works.
I don't see any OpenSSH, VNC is very insecure to be exposed.
Hmmh... Good points. I don't think the beginning of the video needs to be separated, but oh well, I could put a caption there which would indicate viewer to skip through the beginning if he wishes I guess...
Anonymous FTP browsing Is working fine for me via browser? I even asked a few friends of mine to check and for both of them it worked in Chrome, Firefox and IE.
And about OpenSSH, I should've really included that in the video, god damnit, how can I forget something as essential as that? I guess I'll have to make a part 2 for it plus a few other things when I find some free time again... And using VNC for a remote desktop experience is just something I prefer.
    Thanks for the feedback!

  • Multiple iCal icloud errors. One saying username and password incorrect the other Server 500 error when removing event

    Good day all
One of my clients is having intermitting issues with her iCal on her Macbook. Her iCal is connected to her iCloud account along with her contacts, she access the iCloud data via her iPhone and her iPad.
The syncing between her devices with the iCloud gives her no issues when it comes to her contacts but her iCloud on her Macbook is causing a lot of grief. She can accept and add iCal events most of the time but every now and then she gets the error "iCal can't log into your iCloud account becasue your password may be incorrect. The server did not recognize your username or password for the account iCloud. Make sure you enter them correctly". Here is a picture of the error.
I can confirm her username and password is correct by clicking ok to the error and making an event in the calander or making a new contact in her contacts and confirm on icloud.com that the new additions did make it to the iCloud.
On top of the above error she also gets the following error intermittently (seems to happen the most when she attempts to remove a calander item). The error is "The server responded with an error. The request for "Meeting name" in "category" in account iCloud failed. The server responded with 500 to operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation. Stay offline/Revert to Server/Go Online" once more below is a picture
Any help on this subject would be greatly appreshated

  • ColdFusion 8 HTTP 500 Error on IIS 5.1

I am installing ColdFusion 8 on my Windows XP Professional computer. I am installing it to work with Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.1. I stopped the server when I installed ColdFusion. I select my IIS web site in the install wizard. When the installation finishes, and I go to the ColdFusion administration site, I get a HTTP 500 error. I tried accessing other ColdFusion files, and I still got a HTTP 500 error. What can I do? Thanks.

Yes, the files are all located in the CFIDE directory in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot. What can I do?

  • Question on potential configurations for resource cluster as virtual machine server / beowulf / render farm

I am looking for a starting point on where to focus my efforts in researching a desired configuration.  Of course anyone who spends anytime researching in forums knows that one thing that people hate is for people
to ask questions that can be easily answered with a simple Google search, so let me start by saying I have done many hours of research on this already.  The problem I am having is that although there is a huge amount of information out there on what I
am looking to do, I don't believe many people have attempted this on as small of a scale as a single user system.  Also, the amount of routes to go down seems endless, which for me so far has led to many hours of wasted trial and error.  So keep
in mind that I am not so much looking for a handout on answers but rather a more narrowed path of searching and researching.
What I am looking to do is take the current equipment that I have and consolidate it into a 9-12U server rack using mounted 2 or 3U atx cases so that I can have a more organized, space saving setup.  That is the
easy part, what I have been looking into though is the combining of cores and processing power to make a "super computer" yet I use this term very loosely.  From what I have read, the closest thing I can compare the idea in my head to is referred
to as a Beowulf Cluster, or a Render farm but I believe as the name suggests that this is more dedicated to a single task of rendering.  I like the idea of a virtual machine server where I would never actually locally use this machine but rather set up
many virtual machines that I can remote into.  I started to compile a ProxMox Server, and this was the right idea, however when running a VM, that VM is constrained to the hardware resources of the single node that it is assigned to.  If there is
a way to be able to have a machine that would utilize the 20 some odd cores that I would have in the cluster, along with the 40-50 gigs of ram, well that would be ideal but sounds too good to be possible. Also, ProxMox isnt quite there in compatibility for
a home/home office user. I understand that the programs that are used have to be written in a way where the architecture allows for such, but if it could even be used for speeding up my render time with Adobe and Autodesk (which I know do have such functionality)
    that would be wonderful.
So without writing a whole book I am looking for suggestions on how to proceed.  Can I literally build a "super computer" that is not really that super... more mediocre super... or am I better off just consolidating the hardware but not the
OS's and programs.   Also, I do currently use three or four different distros of Linux, mostly for ethical hacking and security type work like pen testing.  One thing I have never been a fan of though is dual booting.   Perhaps investing
in a hot-swap HDD chassis that I could load all the different OS's on where I could just pop in whatever OS I am looking to use.  As you can see I am far from knowing where to spend my efforts in research.... THANK YOu for ANY help.
I was recently suggested Microsoft HPC Pack as a platform?  Anything?
Here is what I currently have:
    these are all fully built)
    Intel i5 3.7 quad core
    Nvidia (ASUS) GTX-760
    16 Gb DDR3 @ 1600 Corsair
    ASUS Sabertooth Z87 MoBo
Autodesk - Inventor, Revit, 3Ds Max, Maya, Fusion 360, Flow, etc.
Adobe - PhotoShop, After Effects, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, etc.
Basically as you can see this is used for my work in 3d modeling, rendering, and drafting along with 3D printing.
    Sys. #2
    AMD 4.7-5.0 8 Core
Nvidia GTX 760 (Same as sys #1)
    16 Gb DDR3 @ 2400 Mhz
    ASUS Crosshair V Formula Z
Various programs for programming, app development, gaming, etc.  (This is my daily driver)
    Sys #3
    AMD 4.5-4.7 8 core
    16 Gb DDR3 @ 1600 Mhz
Asus Crosshair V Formula Z MoBo
Not currently using this one but is fully functional.
    Sys #4
HP built i5 3.4 quad core
    12 Gb DDR3 @ 1600
Nothing Special - this is the one I was using for school work but being that school and programming became one and the same I have all but abandoned it.
THANK YOU AGAIN TO ANYONE WHO HAS MADE IT THIS FAR in reading this.

The cluster works only for standalone webcache and httpserver installations types.
If you want to do this you have to use dcmctl command to change from one farm to another.
try checking with dcmctl command with out options an dyou will get a full list of options.
then run dcmctl usage(orhelp) option to see what you need.
    As far as I remember
you have to check the farm id of the server you want to be the master
then in the second, you have to run dcmctl joinfarm or something like that.
    Regards.

  • Shared and Dedicated Server...

    Dear All,
Can anybody tell what's the difference between shared and dedicated server? Our database is Oracle 9.0.1 in Windows 2003. Our total session is around 200. Our server is dedicated server. What will be the benefit if we change our database to shared server for specific users???
    Shared pool size = 728MB
    Buffer Cache = 592MB
    Java pool = 104MB
    Large pool = 60MB
There is no pga_aggregate_target in our database. Is the configuration ok for more than 200 users??? Most of the times we get 'out of process memory error'. What should we do in this situation??? Plz suggest.

Can anybody tell what's the difference between shared and dedicated server?Dedicated server is the default. It means that each and every user session is serviced by a dedicated Oracle server process. 200 user connections? 200 dedicated server processes.
On Windows these are however threads inside the physical oracle.exe process (and not actual separate process images like on Unix/Linux for example). A standard thread on Windows needs around 2MB of kernel space. So 200 threads, for 200 dedicated server connections, need 200 x 2MB RAM.
Shared server works differently. A pool of dispatchers and shared servers are created. The dispatcher processes deals with the communication between the Oracle client and the Oracle instance. A dispatcher places client requests on a virtual circuit. These requests are picked up by idle shared server processes and processed. The results are send back to the client via a dispatcher process.
So instead of having 200 dedicated server processes to service 200 users, you can for example use 5 dispatcher processes and 30 shared server processes to service the 200 sessions of those 200 users. In this case 35 processes are used that translates into 35 threads at a basic 2MB RAM cost per thread. (also note that the UGA now moves from the Oracle PGA to the Oracle SGA and the SGA needs to be sized accordingly).
However, should such a user session send a long and complex request, that will tie up that shared server for a long time.. and this is bad. When the shared server process is busy, it cannot service any new requests. When all the shared servers in the pool are busy, no new request can be serviced. So you want the requests from the clients to be short and sweet - with a shared server not spending more than a few seconds per request.
So typically OLTP requests are fine for shared servers.. OLAP requests not.
Our database is Oracle 9.0.1 in Windows 2003. You should have been on 9.2.0.7 (last 9i patch set). You should currently being in the process of upgrading to 11gR2. 9i is basically an unsupported product. It is not a good idea to use an unsupported product in production. Even worse when you are not using the latest patchset for that product.
As for using Windows.. why? 32bit is old hat. 64bit CPUs are standard even in today's desktop PCs. Consider using Linux instead. It is Open Source, is free ito purchasing (you only pay for support and maintenance) and it has had de-facto 64bit support for many years now. There's no need to hack the operating system, like Windows with its AWE extensions to address more than 4GB RAM.

  • HTTP 500 error when opening "App Server Control" (EM) in OAS 10.1.3.5.0

    Hi,
I have some (but not much) experience with OAS and am currently stuck. So hope to find someone who can help me further here.
When i open Oracle Application Server Control from the SOA Suite 10.1.3.5.0 home page i get most of the times an HTTP 500 error.
Initially i got this even when i opened the login page (/em) but worked around this by increasing the ThreadsPerChild from 100 > 250 in the httpd.conf and replacing the loopback adres 127.0.0.1 in the dms.conf for the virtual host configuration to the actual (fixed) ip-address.
The current situation is that when i restart the environment (opmn stopall & opmn startall) i can open the the EM login page.
After logging in om the Enterprise Manager, the page is partly loaded and a HTTP 500 error is shown when i refresh the page.
    The apache log files now still shows the following errors;
[Tue Sep 07 15:46:19 2010] [error] [client 10.157.1.68] [ecid: 1283867060:10.150.50.110:10312:9568:5,0] mod_oc4j: Failed to find a failover oc4j process for session request for destination: application://ascontrol (no island or jgroup).
    [Tue Sep 07 15:51:20 2010] [error] [client 10.157.1.68] [ecid: 1283867060:10.150.50.110:10312:9568:5,0] mod_oc4j: request to OC4J SOA-WTST:12501 failed: Connect failed
    Any hints ?
    Kind regards,
    Peter

    If finally found the cause of the problem, lack of PermGen space for the home instance;
When opening the EM Console most of the times i was able to open the login page, under stress opening this page failed most of the times.
    The ascontrol-application.log pointed me in the right direction;
    10/09/07 15:26:59.111 ascontrol: Servlet error
    java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space
When monitoring the PermGen of the home instance, is showed that the system was running out of PermGen space.
Increasing the PermGen size for the home instance in opmn.xml did the trick
    <data id="java-options" value="-Xrs -server -XX:MaxPermSize=128M......"

  • Windows Azure Pack - Server returned HTTP response code: 500 error while accessing the public tenant API

    Hi,
We are facing the following error while trying to access the given Windows Azure Pack Public tenant API to query the virtual machines list along with network adaper details -
java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 500 for URL: https://<hostname>:30006/<subscription-id>/services/systemcenter/vmm/VirtualMachines?$expand=VirtualNetworkAdapters&$top=10000&$skip=0
The response is proper when we access the following URL -
    https://<hostname>:30006/<subscription-id>/services/systemcenter/vmm/VirtualMachines
Only on adding the $expand=VirtualNetworkAdapters, url parameter we are getting the above error.
Where can we check for the error logs on the Azure Pack server ? We checked for the logs using Windows Event Viewer but did not find any for the public tenant API.
What should be the cause for such an error and how can we fix this to get the proper data?
    Thanks in advance.

Yes, we tried this, $top=10&$skip=0 works for the following url
    https://<hostname>:30006/<subscription-id>/services/systemcenter/vmm/VirtualMachines?$top=10&$skip=0
It is only when we add $expand=VirtualNetworkAdapters,
the server returns the mentioned error response -
URL for which the server returns the 500 error -
    https://<hostname>:30006/<subscription-id>/services/systemcenter/vmm/VirtualMachines?$expand=VirtualNetworkAdapters&$top=10&$skip=0
    Can
you point to the error logs for Windows Azure Pack and SPF ?

  • 550 5.7.1 NDR's as mail volume from IIS Virtual SMTP server to Exchange 2010 increases

We have a virtual win 2008 server that has a Virtual SMTP server running via IIS. A separate application on this server drops emails in the pickup directory to forward to our Exchange 2010 environment and this works fine. The odd issue is that as the volume
of messages being dropped in the pickup directory increases to over around 500 per minute we see a huge increase of bounced emails ending up in badmail directory on this server. The NDR we receive from our exchange environment states the following
550 5.7.1 Anonymous clients does not have permissions to send as this sender
As soon as we throttle this application the issue stops. And the same emails that bounced can be resubmitted with no issues
This particular virtual SMTP instance sends to only a handful of mailboxes in our organization, but it does send a lot of messages
We currently have a receive connector for all internal relay servers, and this server is called out in the accepted IP range and the message rate is sent to unlimited. Here are the edited version of the details of one of the internal relay receive connectors
on one of our hub transport servers. Is there something we have setup on the these connectors that might be causing this?

Just to clarify, this is not a pickup directory on an Exchange server but on a Windows 2008 server running an SMTP Virtual server in IIS 6.0. The problem happens only when the message volume from this server to Exchange increases to over ~500 messages a
minute. When that happens the messages get bounced from Exchange with the following info in the NDR
550 5.7.1 Anonymous clients does not have permissions to send as this sender
If we resubmit all the bounce messages at a lower volume per minute we do not see the issue. I'm still working on replicating the issue now that we have logging turned up on the receive connectors.
In addition some messages are being bounced with the following NDR message
    554 5.6.0 Invalid message content
These messages are always between 65-70KB and have around 200 recipients
In the Exchange receive logs for the receive connector for these messages we see the following message (with different sizing)
A parsing error has occurred:MIME content error:
    Singletext value size
    (32781)exceeded allowed maximum
    (32768).
The messages dropped in this pick-up  directory can be anywhere from 1KB to 10MB, so it's not that it's viewing each batch as a single email but something different with this particular email. I've tried searching for where to increase this MIME value
but can't find out where it is stored in Exchange.

  • Installing Adobe LCCS on a dedicated server

    Hi,
Recently, I was trying out Adobe LCCS for screen sharing and file publishing features, and indeed found it as great collaboration service for all the flex application build around the world.
We have a application built on Flex and .net for virtual events domain. I want to use Adobe LCCS to leverage features like web conferencing, screen sharing etc. By going through the site and other blogs, I could understand that this service is provided as S-a-a-S but I want to install this service on a single dedicated server at our end and avoid any dependency on the external server. Does Adobe provides LCCS as a offering of this? Even a pre-installed server could be an option? Also, we are using FMS for our application, can this FMS instance (instead of fms.acrobat.com) be utilised for file sharing, video confering and whiteboard.
    Thanks,
    Anubhav Bisaria

    Sorry Anubhav,
We have had such requests in the past, but currently we dont offer that option.
    Thanks
