Color banning on raw files on Nikon D800e & Canon Mark ii 5d.
I have a stand alone photoshop CS6. I am getting color banning in my raw files not my jpegs on both of these cameras. Any ideas?

The secure disk is the one used in the Nikon 800E, the camera store sent me a 32gb Pro Master when I bought the camera, when I started seeing this problem pop up I thought it was the disk so I bought a new one a SanDisk 32gb but the problem stayed. So I thought the camera was the one with the problem, it is now at the Nikon repair place. The other weird thing about this problem is that the color banding will only pop up in the images at the front end of the shoot. In the first 30 shots, and no more then a few images would be effected in that 30.
No after updating the drivers of the video card and changing to the 16 bit I opened the downloaded Canon & Nikon files on the computer and the problem was still there but when I open the files on the card with the computer reader there is no problem.
I did do the memory diagnosing and it showed no problems. I also went into Bridge and pruge the cache.
As for the position of the shot of the young lady's feet. I have a lot of full body Mom wanted some close up's and since my Nikon is in the shop I was using my Canon and I don't own a zoom lens for the Canon. But cropping takes care of that.
Canon uses a Compact flash and Nikon uses a Secure disk card so no to that question.

When you say a single purpose USB card reader are you talking about one dedicated to Compact Flash and one just for Secure Disk? Also I always, ALWAYS format my cards in CAMERA.
Dennis, I wouldn't use the corupt photo because of her eye position but I would crop like this.
I cannot wait until I get my Nikon back to see if all what you guys have helped me with has fixed the problem. I will be watching my raw files to see if something pops back up. If I think of anything else that seems to be linked to this problem I will post here.

I am running CS5 on a newer computer (2012)... Every time I try to edit raw images taken with my Canon Mark III, a text box appears alerting me that my camera model is not supported by camera raw. I have tried various updates and software installations, but I have been unsuccessful in remedying the problem. Can anyone help or tell me what update/ software to download? I apologize if this thread already exists.
Canon Mark III do you mean Canon 1D Mark III or Canon 1DS Mark III or Canon 5D Mark III ???
In any case CS 5 ACR update 6.7 should handle all those cameras.

when I open a raw file (NEF Nikon 7100) and apply setting then click save, I get an error ( could not complete your request because of a program error ). Ideas?
Oh, dear.
If you use PSE as your external editor for iphoto, you need to save the images back to iphoto by using Save, not Save As and not changing anything like the name or format that would bring up the Save As window. (You may need to adjust the editor prefs>saving files>on first save to save over existing.)
OR you can export the photos from iphoto to the desktop, use file>open in the editor and then change whatever you want and either import the saved image to the organizer or import it back to iphoto as a new file. What you are doing is extremely risky, particularly to the iphoto library which you may easily damage by your workflow.
I would start the organizer holding down the shift key, then create a new catalog and switch to the new one. Then try opening the editor without opening an image and see if you get any farther.
PSE and iphoto are not designed to be used as you've been doing. You are trying to write to the iphoto library from outside iphoto, which is the fastest known way to corrupt the library and lose all your photos. -
Since my last update to 10.8.4 RAW - Files from Nikon D800 are not shown correctly in the Finder as small prewiev. Can anybody help ?

ACR 6.7 would be for an older product, PS-CS5 or PSE10 or PRE10.
What does Help / About Plug-ins… / Camera Raw… show in PS-CC for a version for ACR and is there more than one version of ACR in the Help / About Plug-in list. Help / About Plug-in is what I’d do on Windows; I’m not sure if the menu path is the same on a Mac or not. -
Raw files for Nikon D810 not showing a picture in preview for photoshop cs6 . Have camera raw plugin 8.6.0.250 File will open in ACR and process but no picture before opening raw file.
Are you referencing Apple's Preview application or the Preview panel in Bridge? Huge difference.
Try purging the cache for the offending folder(s) through the Tools menu in Bridge. -

See for yourself which version of ACR is needed for that camera’s RAW files

then check your version (Photoshop > About Plug-In > Camera Raw).
Your version of Photoshop does not support that version of ACR.
You could use the free DNG Converter. -

I'm having troubles converting my raw files from Nikon D5200 (NEF) to DNG. I tried using Lightroom 4, but it didn't identify the folder containing the files. So i downloaded the latest DNG converter but that too didn't identify the files kept in the folder location. So I downloaded DNG converter v7.3 for D5200. It identifies the folder and files; but it is giving me parsing error on trying to convert files. I'm running Windows Vista Home Edition SP1. Kindly advise. Thank you.
I probably missed this detail in what you’ve posted, but do you see the thumbnails of the three cameras’ raw files in Finder if you don’t convert to DNG?
What has happened in the past is that the Apple raw interpreter doesn’t read thumbnails of DNGs it doesn’t like, where at least one thing it didn’t used to like was embedded lens corrections for mirrorless cameras. Are the Olympus and Panasonic mirrorless—meaning there is no optical viewfinder and everything is seen on an LCD screen or perhaps an electronic view finder? If so the reason these are different is that the camera is doing the lens distortion corrections automatically and this information is stored in the raw files and in the DNGs but Apple doesn’t know how to use these embedded lens corrections or doesn’t know how to read the newer DNG spec that does allow for this information to be embedded in the DNG, at least.
Apple could just extract the embedded jpg preview and ignore the other parts of the file it doesn’t understand, but it apparently doesn’t do this.
What I’m not sure about is if the Apple raw interpreter still has this problem or if you’re on an older system without the latest updates for camera raw decoding by Apple. -

You can check the ACR version installed from Elements Editor.
If you are on Windows, go to Help> About Plugins > Adobe Camera Raw.
if you are on Mac, go to Photoshop Elements Editor> About Plugins > Adobe Camera raw.

Download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your original files as backup).

You could try Help > Update, but that was a flakey process in CS5 times.

Hi to all, I use Windows 7, 64Bit and Lightroom 5.7, Camera Raw 8.7, when I develop or export files (mostly Raw Fils from Nikon D810) after 10 to 20 pictures my computer shuts down or I get a bluescreen. Please tell me why.
Blue screen/Computer shuts down is almost always a hardware malfunction or a driver problem.
Make sure your video driver is up to date.
If it is, then the next suspect, in my mind, is overheating, make sure all of the fans in your CPU case are working properly.
