Color Settings issue in Photoshop CS6

We are currently using G7 Workflow for our profile. I have a couple of questions concerning the color settings.
1.We are also not able to hold these settings even once we leave it as "Custom". It defaults back to U.S. Sheetfed Coated Profile.
2. When trying to set color setting with our profile, it says it is not supported by this version of Photoshop (CS6). It will set this to "Custom" instead of G7 Workflow. What can we do to fix this issue? Please see below for the screen captures.
Please help! Thanks in advance!

Where did you get that color settings file?  How was it created?

  • 30 bit color issue with photoshop cs6

I have 30 bit deep color enabled for my photoshop cs6, but whenever and wherever I hovered my brush tool above the image, it will wipe away the 30 bit information(note by switching to a different tool, it will automatically update everything back to normal)? By the way, I have a firepro w7000 video card.

    PSD = Photoshop
AI (which PS can export) = Illustrator
As you can see, mine saves as and AfterEffects file in Vista (CS4)
After selecting Photoshop, the icon changes and it opens with the proper app.
On the Mac I click the file and "get Info", and choose PS CS6.
It's now a cross format PSD.

  • Need  help using color checker passport with photoshop CS6

    Hello all,
I'm having an issue using the Color Checker Passport with Photoshop CS6.  Here's my configuration:
Mac Mini using OS 10.8, but very recently updated to 10.9 (Mavericks).  My problem is the same on either OS version.
    Photoshop CS6 ver 13.0.6 64 bit extended
    Adobe Camera Raw 8.4
X-Rite Color Checker Passport ver 1.0.2
Canon 70D shooting RAW in sRGB color space
NEC Multi-Sync LCD monitor calibrated with Spyder 3 Pro ver 4.0.5
Now here's the issue.  I go through the recommended workflow and generate a profile with no problem.  Then in Camera Raw (after restarting all applications) I apply the profile to a photograph and instead of getting a nice color-corrected image my image has a greenish-yellow tint to it.  It's very noticeable and I haven't been able to figure out what I'm doing wrong, if anything.  I re-calibrated the monitor, re-did the workflow with other pictures, but still get the same result.
I greatly appreciate any help or ideas on how to remedy this.  I've sent an inquiry to X-Rite via their Support Web Page, but haven't heard back from them yet.
    Thanks,
    Kevin H.

  • How to use Color Splash Effect in Photoshop CS6?

    Hi everyone
Can you guy help me out How to use Color Splash Effect in Photoshop CS6? I need to use in slide in my web
    Thanks

You mean "leave part in color and make the rest black and white"?
Just select or mask the part that should be B&W and desaturate, or use the B&W adjustment.
Or you can add a B&W adjustment layer and mask out the parts that should stay in color.

  • Color issues in Photoshop CS6

A few days ago my Photoshop installation began muting all of the colors. Nothing I've found has been able to change it. Color Settings are set to North America General Purpose 2, I even tried deleting Photoshop's preferences file and letting it recreate it to return everything to default, no change. Here's a perfect example of what I'm talking about http://i.imgur.com/EpFgI.png
On the right is a website pulled up within Chrome. On the left is a screenshot taken (via Print Screen) of that exact same web page and then pasted into a default web RGB settings file. It's easy to tell the difference when you look at the blues. This is happening to everything I load in photoshop, color profiles or settings don't make any difference, and no other applications have this problem (including other Adobe applications). Any ideas?
If it matters, I'm running Windows 8 with 2x AMD 6950's in Crossfire.

Thanks for helping. So I downloaded the Whacked RGB file and opened it in photoshop, I get this message http://i.imgur.com/xQ8VV.png and the file looks perfectly normal if I open it with the embedded profile or if I convert it to the working space. Discarding the embedded profile makes it blue. Does this help at all? The link you sent says "In conclusion, if your setup is displaying the WhackedRGB file at least okay, then the problem points to your "problem" files — they either have profile issues or the actual problems Photoshop is showing you. Period." when this is the case.
I also found another quirk while messing with this, the color actually looks fine in my other monitors. If I drag the photoshop window over to my primary monitor, the colors stays perfectly fine until I actually drag my cursor over the file, then it changes. I recorded a screenr to showcase this http://www.screenr.com/FFC7 so you can watch it in real time, just keep your eyes on the blue. It must be a monitor profile issue specifically with photoshop, I'm just not sure how to fix it.

  • Color management issue from Photoshop Acrobat

I'm having an issue that I believe has been isolated to Acrobat X related to Color Management, but was referred to this Photoshop forum because more experts in color management tend to read here. My thread in the Acrobat forum with several updates on tests is here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4646650#4646650
The short version is that any RGB image I create in any app (including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, a non-Adobe app with Word, and Acrobat's own PDF from Screen Capture feature) displays in both Acrobat X and Adobe Reader with dull colors, very similar (if not identical) to how an RGB file with full intensity colors (i.e. R255 or G255) looks when converted to CMYK.
I've tried numerous settings in the Color Management system, and have Synchronized my Color Settings via Bridge across all Adobe CS6 apps. I've tried synchronizing to both the default North American General Purpose 2, and the (sometimes suggested) Monitor Color, using a calibrated profile for my Dell display from OS X's built-in tool. Have also tried various settings of Preserving Embedded Profiles, ignoring them, Assigning a new Color Profile to a document, turning off color management completely, etc. No change in result.
I have a multi-monitor setup (3 external Dell displays connected to a Macbook Pro, 2 of them via USB video devices), but I've also tried making each display (including the laptop's built-in display) my Primary monitor and can see the color shift on each one, so it doesn't appear to be a calibration issue.
This issue is on my Mac at the office. I have a similar setup at home (albeit a MacPro 1,1 vs. a laptop) but with the same Dell monitors and CS6 software installation, and I can take the same document (whether it's InDesign, Illustrator, or Photoshop), make a PDF of it, and it displays with 100% accurate colors when viewed in Acrobat X.
In addition to the tests mentioned in my original thread, I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling both Acrobat X and Adobe Reader.
I believe the issue is related to Acrobat, as I can repeat the issue with no other apps than Acrobat in the workflow: if I display a full-intensity RGB image on screen, then use Acrobat X to create a PDF from Screen Capture, the resulting PDF immediately shifts to the dull colors.
Have also thoroughly checked through Acrobat's preferences, as it seems almost as if there's a setting somewhere along the lines of "View all PDFs in CMYK color gamut", but no such setting exists. I did a complete uninstall of Acrobat X as well, which I imagine would also dump its Preferences, so it would be a clean reinstall.
Another interesting note: Apple's Preview app seems to display the PDF with accurate RGB colors, so I know the PDF actually has the correct color definitions intact. But the same PDF opened in Acrobat X or Reader side-by-side displays the dull colors.
    Any thoughts?
    -R

i wasn't able to follow your lengthy post, and the color management chain is too complicated (for me) to address here other to say Acrobat reads tagged elements and converts their colors to Monitor RGB (so you must have stripped the profiles in the PDF, and the Acrobat CMS is applying or passing through the wrong profile)
further, if you don't want to rely on profiles, your safest bet (for screen viewing) is to CONVERT everything to sRGB (but i would still include the profile in case someone wants to display or print the document 'accurately'
Here is a look at a several critical color setting in Export to Acrobat that control: Downsampling, Compression, Color Conversions, Destination, and Tagging (click on image for blowup):
    PS:
these panels were grabbed from an InDesign Export PDF process, but Photoshop should have similar options somewhere

  • Performance Issues with Photoshop CS6 64-Bit

    Hello -
Issue at hand: over the course of the last few weeks, I have noticed significant issues with performance since the last update to PS CS6 via the Adobe Application Manager, ranging from unexpected shut downs to bringing my workstation to a crawl (literally, my cursor seems to crawl across my displays). I'm curious as to if anyone else is experiencing these issues, or if there is a solution I have not yet tried. Here is a list of actions that result in these performance issues - there are likely more that I have either not experienced due to my frustration, or have not documented as occuring multiple times:
Opening files - results in hanging process, takes 3-10 seconds to resolve
Pasting from clipboard - results in hanging process, takes 3-10 seconds to resolve
Saving files - takes 3-10 seconds to open the dialog, another 3-10 seconds to return to normal window (saving a compressed PNG)
Eyedropper tool - will either crash Photoshop to desktop, or take 5-15 seconds to load
Attempting to navigate any menu - will either crash Photoshop to desktop, or take 5-15 seconds to load
Attempts I've taken to resolve this matter, which have failed:
Uninstalled all fonts that I have added since the last update (this was a pain in the ***, thank you Windows explorer for being glitchy)
    Uninstall application and reinstall application
    Use 32-bit edition
Changing process priority to Above Normal
Confirm process affinity to all available CPU cores
Change configuration of Photoshop performance options
61% of memory is available to Photoshop to use (8969 MB)
History states: 20; Cache levels: 6; Cache tile size: 1024K

  • Configurator 3 Panels Cause Issue in Photoshop CS6 for Windows 8

I've come across an issue in Windows 8 when creating panels with Configurator 3 for Photoshop CS6.  I hope there is a solution.
After I create and install any panel from Configurator 3 for Photoshop CS6, working on a Windows 8 machine, the speed of clicking on and selecting layers in the Layers Panel is quite delayed, sometimes to the point of seconds. This definitely is disruptive and impedes smooth workflow entirely.  In further detail, when the panel is up and running, and then I click on a layer in the layers panel, or multiple layers, or try to switch between layers, the response is terribly lagging and slow, and layers aren't instantly selected as they were before.
Please note, I'm getting this same issue on two different Windows 8 machines with Photoshop CS6 with any panel I create in Configurator 3.  I'm also getting this issue on a panel I didn't create, for example, the HTML Sample Panel from Adobe, downloaded from the Adobe Exchange Panel.
I've also tested creating a panel on a Mac and installing that .zxp file on my Windows machines, but I get the same result.  Note, this is NOT happening in CS5 with panels created in Configurator 3 using Windoes 8, and it's not happening on a Mac with CS6, using the same panels.  It is also NOT happening on a Windows 7 machine.  This appears to be an issue with Windows 8 and CS6 and Configurator 3.
If I close out the extension's panel tab, and then restart Photoshop, everything is back to normal, but as soon as I open the extension again, it's back to delayed interface.  And, if I don't fully close the panel and restart, the issue does not go away.
Please let me know if you've come across this and if there is a solution.  I hope someone or Adobe can help.
    Thank you.

Nick, do you have a virus scanner or malware protection software? I do and I have found that if I exclude Photoshop.exe as a process from being monitored, the problem goes away. My malware protection software has "real-time protection" and "behavior monitoring" and if I configure it to not monitor Photoshop, which uses a bunch of javascript for panels, then the slow-down goes away.
Let me know if that works for you as it did for me!

  • Color Settings issues in Lightroom.

I'm new to Lightroom, and I have been using it for sometime with no issues, until recently.
I normally shoot with a Nikon D800, and haven't had any issues with it, importing, and reading colors.  Recently I rented a Fujix100 for a job, and used lightroom as well to process all those images, but I feel like it may have changed a preference setting in lightroom because now when I import from my Nikon, where there should be a subtle gradation, I get magenta banding.
Strange thing is, this only happens in the Lightroom workspace.  When I export the image, I don't see the banding, and even on a friends monitor, they don't notice the banding.
Im getting my Nikon checked out as we speak to make sure its not my sensor, but my question is, is there anyway to reset the color settings on Lightroom just to be on default?
And is that information then attached to my different catalogs, or just the application?
    Thanks.
    -J.
Edit-  I should also add taht I had to replace the monitor on my computer be cause of yellowing, so I know that my monitor is new (unless they replaced it with a faulty monitor, but then I would see banding everywhere.)

I think the problem is with the new monitor, not with the cameras.  Shooting with a different brand or model shouldn't have any impact on another model.  If you are talking about resetting default cameras settings, yes you can do that.  But using the Fuji should not have impacted the Nikon at all.  You either need to calibrate that new monitor, or exchange it for another if you have that option.

  • Color  settings issue

I am using CS3 under Vista Ultimate.
I'd be grateful for help with a couple of problems:
    1. When I customise my color settings the customisarion is not sticking - that is, when I save the customisation, close the settings box and reopen it - the settings have returned to North America General Purpose 2. Similarly, if I load a customised setting it has always reverted to North American General Purpose 2 when I next look at the color settings.
    2. For reasons I don't understand, recent photos have started to look over saturated with a blue shift when I Save (them) For The Web. My work is all for the internet and my workflow is all sRGB. That's why I am surprised by the colour problem. It's definitely something to do with the colour profile of the photo I am working on - when I take photos I have worked on a few weeks ago there is no colour shift when I Save for Web. I have converted the problem photo to sRGB but that has not solved the problem. I know I'm doing something dumb but I can't work out what it is or how to rescue the photo I have been working on.
    Thanks for any help.
    David

    I spoke too soon.
The impermanent color settings have returned.
The reinstall did not solve the problem. Whenever I open the Colour Settings box the settings are all back to the North America General Purpose 2 profile.
I have contacted Adobe tech support who replied that it was not a technical problem but a usage problem (pilot error). At my request they had another look at the issue and have replied:
"Try to resett the preferences as you can see in the following doc.
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb400950
if preferences did not solver your issue, create a new admin account and try to recreate the problem in the new admin account."
I have tried resetting the preferences a number of times and that did not work. I will create a new admin account as suggested but I am not hopeful that this will solve the problem.

  • How to resolve Update installation issues for Photoshop CS6

I keep getting install error u44m1u5 when attempting to install Photoshop camera raw update 7.2   How do I resolve this?  I also get same  error  code for adobe bridge cs6 5.0.1.1 update and extension manager 6.0.4 update.  Adobe application manager also reports error code u44m1p210 along with these others.   I am running Win 7 sp1 64 bit and my Photoshop CS6 version is identified as 13.0.1.
thanks for any help or suggestions.

This link took me to location where I chose the appropriate version of Bridge update and it worked.  My verion was updated to 5.0.1.23

  • Compatibility issue with Photoshop CS6

After I create a file in Photoshop and save it, it for some reason saves as an Illustrator file. Why is this? Before I saved, there was a dialogue that popped up saying something like maxamizing my file compatebility and that it could be turned off in Preferences > File Handling > File Compatibility. I'm not even sure if that ties into my main issue, but I tried turning it off and on, but my file is still an Illustrator file rather than a Photoshop one. Can anyone help me figure out why this is? It doesn't make sense.

    PSD = Photoshop

  • Color Range command in Photoshop CS6 13.0.4 no longer works after update

I just updated to 13.0.4 at the end of last week.  Today I went to use the Color Range command and it will not select any colors.  The Eyedropper tool works fine.  Adjusting the fuzziness and other options doesn't make a difference.  Nor does selecting multiple instances of a color to add to the selection.  Since I use this command regularly,  I feel confident that it is a bug with the update and I would love to hear of any possible fixes.  Or, is it possible to downgrade back to 13.0.3?  I didn't realize how much I used this and it's a major inconvenience.

I feel confident that it is a bug with the update and I would love to hear of any possible fixes.
Some people, when encountering unexpected behaviour in Photoshop, seem overly prone to use the term »bug«.
Have you performed the usual trouble-shooting routines (trashing prefs by keeping command-alt-shift/ctrl-alt-shift pressed while starting Photoshop after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed, 3rd party plug-ins deactivation, system maintenance, cleaning caches, font validation, etc.)?
Could you please post a screenshot with the pertinent Panels and Dialogs visible?

  • Photoshop color settings - what is Photoshop doing?

Hello, I'm trying to understand how converting to different color profiles within Photoshop works.
What I'm trying to understand is why, when I have a document saved in with an embedded color profile of "Adobe RGB (1998)", when I *convert* the color profile to "Adobe RGB (1998)" (the same profile) the colors change dramatically. If I am converting to the same color profile, shouldn't the colors remain the same, and not change?
Please note, I'm not having any problems, just trying understand what Photoshop is doing. Thanks for any help!

This is what I'm seeing, the original image is on the left, the preview image is on the right. Once I click ok, I'm left with the original image. This happens consistently whenever I convert a color profile to itself. Thanks for all your help!

  • Opening a color .JP2 file in Photoshop CS6 it's grayscale instead

I have two .JP2 files that i need to open and apply an artistic filter to. When I open the files they open as grayscale instead of color which they are.
Am I missing something i have not worked with JP2 files before.

I was curious so had a look around. I found this site http://www.microimages.com/gallery/jp2/ that has some .jp2 test images on it. I downloaded the world map image (right click and save link not save image or it will save as a .jpg).
On my system - Windows 7 64bit Photoshop CC the file loaded in as a colour image.
So I suspect that CurtY is right that your origional image has been sent to you as a grayscale image.
    Just my 2 penneth!
    Cheers
    John
