Column Value change in BO report vs HANA calculation view

Hi,
We are having BO  reports on  Standard hana views.
We have some columns  in calculation view as below in Hana studio
Column Name     Column Purpose
1.Cost Center---(Gives cost center number)
2.Cost center Name--(Gives description of cost center )
3.Cost Element-which --(Gives cost center number)
4.Cost Element Name-(Gives description of cost center)
when we preview the data with these coulumns in hana studio there are giving the result as specified above.
But if I run the report in BO using the above 4 columns ,I could see only descriptions for all the four columns as below
1.Cost Center---(Gives description of cost center)
2.Cost center Name--(Gives description of cost center )
3.Cost Element-which --(Gives description of cost center)
4.Cost Element Name-(Gives description of cost center)
As per our requirement we should get numbers for cost center and cost element.
I have observed in semantics that cost center and cost element have label columns mapped to them as below
cost center has labelcolumn as costcenter name
cost element has labelcolumn
Please see the attached file . Is this happend because of the labelcolumn mapping
we want the cost center and cost element to be displayed as numbers only.  Please suggest me on this.
Thanku

Hi Chandra,
TEXT is coming because you have defined as "Label Column" . In HANA, Data preview the column names will only come but not "Descriptions".
What is your reporting tool?  If it is AO, have a look on the below blog:

  • Error while creating a BO Universe (using IDT) on top of SAP HANA Calculation View with Input Parameters

    Hi All..
We are trying to create a Universe (using IDT-Version4.0) on top of the HANA Calculation view. The Calculation view has 4 input parameters, So
in Universe side we have created the respective prompts. For the creation of derived table we have used the following code
    SELECT *
    FROM "_SYS_BIC"."<schema_name>.<CV_Calculation_View_test>"
    'PLACEHOLDER'=('$$IP_A$$','@Prompt(A)'),
    'PLACEHOLDER'=('$$IP_B$$','@Prompt(B)'),
    'PLACEHOLDER'=('$$IP_C$$','@Prompt(C)'),
    'PLACEHOLDER'=('$$IP_D$$','@Prompt(D)')
While validating the above code we are getting an error.
I have attached the snapshot of that error for your reference. Please find the attachment and help me in resolving it.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello George,
I don't have any personalization set on the info space. Also I am using mapped Account in BI to connect to HANA. The confusing part is that it is able to validate the infospace with the input parameters and index it. However query does not return any results. I even tried running the same query which explorer sends to HANA in the SQL editor and there too the same results, the query does not return anything. The model does return data when I do a data preview and if accessed from other tools like AAO.
Also when I use SSO connection to HANA, indexing of the infospace fails. Where can I see the error log?
    Thanks,

  • Scheduling AFO that uses HANA Calculation View

We are using Analysis for Office against a HANA Calculation view.
We are saving the Analysis for Office workbooks on the BI platform.
I am able to create a publication, schedule the workbook emailing it to myself.  It shows that it successfully completed, but I never get an email.
I am able to open the workbook from the BI Platform in AFO and it does refresh.
    Any ideas?

are you able to see the output of schedule in the History?
Do you have any issues with the SMTP? are you able to get the Email from BO server?

You should not create checkboxes like this. Either use the APEX_ITEM.CHECKBOX2 API or change the Column Type to Simple Checkbox.

Depends in how you are invoking/triggering the change event. Are you using DA or have you written an "onchange" event on the element?

  • Using md5 in a manul tabular form to compare if column value changed

    Version: Application Express 3.2.0.00.27
    Hello,
I am creating a manul tabular form using apx_item in my select statment that is the source for the query in a report region. I am using a collection. The collection creation statement is:
        apex_collection.create_collection_from_query(
           p_collection_name => 'DELEG_COLL',
           p_query           => 'SELECT authid
                               ,empid empid
                               ,to_char(deldate,''DD-MON-YYYY'') deldate
                               ,delscope delscope
                               ,dellimits dellimits
                               ,subdelrights subdelrights
                               ,to_char(delexpiry,''DD-MON-YYYY'') delexpiry
                               ,to_char(datedelremoved,''DD-MON-YYYY'') datedelremoved
                               ,delremovalcomments delremovalcomments
                               ,delegator delegator
                               ,''O'' original_record
                               ,wwv_flow_item.md5(delscope, dellimits, subdelrights,

                                  to_char(datedelremoved,''DD-MON-YYYY'') datedelremoved,
                                  delremovalcomments, delegator)
                               FROM tbl_delegations
                               where empid = v(''P12_EMPID'')',
p_generate_md5     => 'YES');The above code is giving me an error in the function
    wwv_flow_item.md5(delscope, dellimits, subdelrights,
                                  to_char(delexpiry,''DD-MON-YYYY'') delexpiry,
                                  to_char(datedelremoved,''DD-MON-YYYY'') datedelremoved,
delremovalcomments, delegator)It doesn't seem to like where I attempt to convert date column delexpiry and datedelremoved to a varchar. I am doing this as in the db they are dates and inorder to using the md5 function to compare if the values have changed and only update rows where the values changed.
There error that I get is:
    ORA-20104: create_collection_from_query Error:ORA-20104: create_collection_from_query ParseErr:ORA-00907: missing right parenthesis
In the collection I am trying to store the md5 hash result. I haved all the update and insert logic working expect for date type columns. THose give the above error.
I thank you ahead of time for your assistance!
    A. Shalon

    Helen,
Not sure I fully understand your goal.  We don't use "tasks" at all but if you are looking to have your workflow check certain valus and be able to send email messages to people based on whatever, then you can certainly do that (as long as your Sharepoint
has the email setup.  We do this for alot of workflow tasks.
So, in the workflow you can have a blanket statement like what I previously listed:
if Current Item:hiddenStatus  not equals Current Item:Status
        .... do something
or you can do something like:
    if Current Item:hiddenStatus equals "In-Progress"
        .... do something
Else if Current Item:hiddenStatus  equals "Completed"
        .... do something
or combine the two and do nested "if" statements.  Then you add an email statement wherever you need it like:
    if Current Item:hiddenStatus  equals "Completed"
       then email "these users"
To add the email part, just type in "email" on the line where you want to add a statment.  There is only one option to choose from.  That will display the line "then email these users".   The "these users" will be a link.  When you
click it you will get a popup to add the email info.  We typically will send the email to a user (or users) that are already listed in one of the PeoplePicker fields.  On the email form, you can type in your own text, designate that a value is based
on a column value (like our PeoplePicker), designate that a value is based on a workflow variable, add a link to the current item, etc.  To get to these options you will click the button to the right of the fields or use the "Add or Change Lookup" button
in the bottom-left for the text area.  There is alot you can set in the mail.
Does this help answer your question?

  • Count a distinct column value in an interactive report

    Hi,
I'm struggling with this and would appreciate any pointers.
I have built a view here:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=11189:1
The report can have duplicate column values. I'm tying to find a way using the interactive report functionality (i.e. without modifying the underlying SQL) to count a distinct column value. For example, in the example following the link I'd like to be able to count the unique customer_ids and return 7.
This may be fundametally impossible depending on the way the SQL is generated for the interactive reports. If this is the case can anyone confirm this?
    Many thanks
    Yog.

<B>"Not modifying views is fair enough. But not wrapping a SELECT around them? Really? Why? And as I said, that's imposible, the IR already does it."</B>
This is not a problem. However for the IR's it's a development decision to keep all reported columns ( and analysis on these columns ) as a seperate development process to be controlled centrally by a seperate team. The point to remember is that the app looks at hundereds of views and it was decided that modifying each report to fit each instance would become cumbersome to manage and to put it simply there are not the resources to do it.
again, I'm not here to justify any of that!
<B>SELECT *" ? Every single time? Even when you want to populate a LOV with some names</B>
No just the Reports. It is a very very simple app; a big list an a page for each report.
<B>"I think you should always ask what you want, not less, not more"</B>
I agree, and that should include select * from view.
<B>"Why fetch data you don't want to see"</B>
Some users will want to see some data from the view and other users will want to see other data, Over the whole user base someone somewhere will want to see all of it.
<B> Actually, there is something good in this, in the future, when you will be asked to check and try to improve the load time of some page, here is the first place where you should look</B>
    Brilliant! Like it!!
<B>Does it by any chance fetch a bunch of 20 meg LOBS and then discards them</B>
No, Thankfully a few varchar2 columns and a lot of numeric columns, nothing huge. The reports are acutally pretty fast at the moment...

  • Summary column value changing to NULL in RDF

    Hello Everybody.
For the existing query column in RDF, which is used by one of the summary column as source.
If the query is getting changed as per the bussiness requirement, the source of the Summary column is changing to NULL.
Is there any way not to allow this change in RDF. Because lot of query modifications are done. And it consumes lot of time to change every source of the Summary columns being used.
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks.

In general this shouldn't happen. Did you define proper ALIAS'es for the column the summaryitems are based on?

  • Hierarchy on HANA Calculation View with Optional Input Parameters Fails

    Hi,
Has anyone succeeded in building a hierarchy on top of a calculation view with optional input parameters, where an input parameter is not filled?
The original requirement came from the wish to create a parent child hierarchy on a calculation view that was copied into the customer space from a HANA Live Financial Statement query view, but I have found the following when creating a simple level hierarchy on a calculation view that consumes one table. The Calculation View has one Input Parameter where the 'mandatory' box is unchecked.
Calculation view reads ECC table FAGLFLEXT
Simple level based hierarchy on fields PRCTR, RACCT and SEGMENT
Input parameter is used as a filter for PRCTR with logic ("EMPTY" = '$$P_PROFITCTR$$' or "PRCTR" = '$$P_PROFITCTR$$')
When I run the view I see the following behaviour in HANA Studio and Analysis for Excel
Before building the hierarchy I could run the view with or without the Input Parameter
After building the hierarchy I can run the view with the Input Parameter filled, but it fails when the Input Parameter is not filled.
Error message is "error: search table error:  [2426] missing placeholder; missing value for mandatory parameter P_PROFITCTR"
P_PROFITCTR is not a mandatory parameter, but the selection for the hierarchy view thinks it should be. I don't find any notes around this issue, so I don't think it's version related, however the version I have used for this test is 1.00.70.
It's a shame we can't currently build the hierarchy as the parent child relationship is provided in HANA Live view NewGLFinancialStatementQuery.
    Thanks,
    Ken

    Hi Ken,
We have been facing similar issue. We have even tried to set default value and as optional parameter. View still fails to create hierarchy (we are not using HANA live). As mentioned on page 97 of HANA modelling guide input parameter is mandatory from engine point of view. Hierarchy is generated as column view during the initial activation of calculation view and therefore expect a value by caller.
This seems to be a product error. Some one from HANA development team should explain this issue in detail. I would expect someone like Thomas Jung reply to us.
At the moment, we cant use input parameter for date prompt which gives us calendar popup feature for date selection. Hierarchies just don't work with input parameter. We are missing something.

  • Filters from BW in HANA Calculation View

    Hi, Gurus!
We start using HANA modeling and faced with some issues in filtering. Hope someone can help us, maybe anybody faced with same error and give us they expirience.
    Well, we have following model
On this model we create Virtual Cube in BW. All objects mapped.
So, when we try to open query for 1 day, or for 1 month, or even for 1 quarter time of execution the same. Of course in simple models (one analytic view on them projection and after aggregation) this situation not occurred.
We tried to find some information about this case, but all in vain. As we think filter from BEX Query or ABAP cube preview must transfer to all objects in calculation view but in fact, we fully sure about it, block 1 (look at picture above) not limited...
Maybe this happen because our usage this block (type of join, or maybe characteristics which joined) :
So any help about how to understand this behaviour of system, or how correctly create CALC View to using all filters from BEX, or how debug in HANA call of CALC view from BEX, will be very useful!
    Thanks in advance!
    Best regard,
    Alex

I'm not sure I understand your question, but I think you are saying that your execution time is the same for any query, even if you filter heavily.
This can be the case if you join between two fact tables. Avoid this by using Attribute Views or a Union with Constant Values.

  • Composite provider accessing remote hana calculation view

I have a scenario to combine data
1). master data from BW system or DSO data (HANA DB )
2).Calculation view ( utilizing HANA live views resides in another HANA DB ).
Wondering different possible scenario's based on 100% HANA system landscape environment.
    Thanks

    Hi,
I guess you publish the view into BW as a TransientProvider and then combine it with other InfoProviders in a CompositeProvider.

  • Column name change in Interactive Reports

    Hi,
I am new to Interactive reporting. We have a report that is resulted from Essbase query. Now in the report, we want to change the column names which are basically the essbase dimension member name. Is it possible to chang ethe names per our requiremnet?
    Please help.

    Hi again,
I think that you may have posted your question in the wrong forum. This one is for Oracle Application Express and maybe that is the reason why you didn't understand my response. If your issue involves Hyperion Interactive Reporting Studio or Hyperion reporting in general then you should ask in this forum instead:

  • When Requested for a Grand Total the column values changes to zeroes

    Hi,
I have a report with 2 dimensions and 4 facts. The report is showing the correct data when compared with EBS, but when we are applying grand total in Table View then for fact values are displaying zeroes. However the grand total is correct but for some dimensions the measures are displaying zeroes.
At this point i have modified the Aggregation rule of 1 measure from Default to SUM and when i clicked results Wonder, i can see grand total and the zeroes were replaced with actual values. When i have compared logical queries before applying the aggregation and after, the measure is surrounded with function REPORT_AGGREGATE and REPORT_SUM respectively.
Can anyone explain me why is this behavior occurred, i got the solution but i am not in stage to explain to client why it happened.
Kindly help and i will make sure it is definitely marked.

    Re:  Bottom Line Grand Total
Use the Subtotal function instead of the Sum function for all totals.
The Subtotal function ignores other Subtotal functions in the column you are summing.
Your three "Sum" functions would look something like...
    =SUBTOTAL(9,J3:J7)    '300
    =SUBTOTAL(9,J8:J14)  '900
    =SUBTOTAL(9,J3:J14)  '1200

  • Updating a timestamp when a column value changes

    Hi,
currently i have a table that stores an assigned_to column and an assigned_on column.
what i would like to do is update the assigned_on column with the systimestamp when the old value of the assigned_to column is not the same as the new value.
i have tried using a trigger to fire when :new.assigned_on != :old.assigned_on, however, i experience the mutating table problem.
i have looked around and tried using 3 triggers (before and after row and after statement) in conjunction with the package, however, have not been able to fix it.
can someone suggest an alternative, short of putting the the assigned_on value into a different table.
i already have a trigger that is copying the the row across to a log table, but i don't think that is causing the mutation errors.
your help and suggestions are greatly appreciated in advance.

  • Reporting on HANA Model using EPM Add-in

    Hi All,
    BPC 10 NW on HANA
    EPM Add-in SP 15
We have imported two models from BPC into HANA and using HANA calculation view, we are able to do certain cross-model calculations within HANA. However, when we try to report that using EPM Add-in, that's where we are facing the problem.
We have created a local connection -> SAP HANA MDX Provider and while creating the connection we are selecting the same HANA package where we have built the required calculation view. The connection is successful, but when I try to create a new report there are no available dimensions in the report editor window?
Any thoughts - do we need to turn some settings on, some access issue?
