Combine Files and OCR

My team here has various files that we combine to make a report which we will then process and disclose. We need the files to be either OCR'ed or optimized to do our job effectively. Some of those files have renderable text and others do not (they are scans). Is there an option where we can combine while also OCRing the scanned docs?

We combine our reports and have the user OCR it before they begin their process. We combine both types of files, renderable and non-renderable, and then the user OCRs the mix. The process will skip the pages that don't need OCRing so I'm not sure where you are getting the idea that you can't.

  • Combining files and reordering pages

I have a Word file and PowerPoint file. I'd like to convert both into pdf's, combine the files into one, and then reorder the pages - e.g., some of the ppt-source pages followed by some of the Word-source pages followed by some of the ppt-source pages, etc. How do I merge files? How do I reorder pages once the files are merged into one?

The easiest way is to probably print the desired pages from each application to PDF files. Then open the first file. Then follow with each file and use PAges Insert.

  • Need to delete the old page number from a combined file and replace it with the new number. is there a way for me to do that using JavaScipt

is there a way of using JS to delete the old page number (1,3,32,78) on a combined PDF and inset it with a new page numbers (1,2,3,4) Thank you

Depends. If the page numbers can be located by their location on the page then a script can be written to redact that area, and then add new page numbers in their place (or somewhere else).

  • TIFF files and OCR

I previously setup Sharepoint 2013 on Windows Server 2008 R2. In this scenario the TIFF files appeared to be indexed by default and the parser did an OCR on the files (which was very slow).
I have since built a new Sharepoint 2013 farm on Windows Server 2012 and, after some research, it appears the TIFF OCR engine doesn't exist under Windows Server 2012 and TIF files are not indexed by default. As such, I expect OCR of TIFF files under Sharepoint
    2013 will no longer work.
    Is this correct?
BTW: This isn't bad, it is actually perferred behaviour. However, I just need to confirm the behaviour.

  • Combine files

When I try to Combine Files, and I click on Add Files, Acrobat tells me my psd and InDesign files are unsupported and won't include them. These are the main ones I want to use. What can I do?

You can make PDF files directly from InDesign or Photoshop, no need to
    use Acrobat.

    Hi SeaWest,
I apologize for the trouble you are going through.
Are you trying to combine big file(s) or complex file(s)?
Please try it once again or share your files with me if possible.
    thank you.

  • Once combine file, it is too large to email. Is there a way to reduce the size of the file?

Combined files and now it is too large to send. Is there a way to reduce the size of the converted file in Adobe?

    Hi yodonna,
Adobe Reader doesn't allow you to reduce the size of a PDF file, as Acrobat does. But, you could upload that file to your Acrobat.com account, and create an anonymous link to it using Adobe Send. Then, you could send that link via email. You can access Adobe Send at https://cloud.acrobat.com/send. The Create an Anonymous Link feature doesn't require that you have an Adobe Send subscription.
    Best,

I have Windows XP and Adobe 9 Reader and need to send a series of large documents to clients as a matter of urgency When I convert 10 pages a MS-Word file to Pdf this results in file of 6.7 MB which can't be emailed.  Do I combine them and then copy to JPEG 2000 or do I have to save each page separately which is very time consuming Please advise me how to reduce the size and send 10 pages plus quickly by Adobe without the huge hassles I am enduring

What kind of software do you use for the conversion to pdf? Adobe Reader can't create pdf files.

  • I imported pics to catalogs on different external hard drives.  Later renamed external HDs.  I want to combine catalogs and have my source (NEF) files all together on one drive. Can I merge cats and will new path to source files be correct if when inporti

I imported different trips to different catalogs on different external hard drives.  Later renamed external HDs.  I want to combine catalogs and have my source (NEF) files all together on one drive.  I’m not really sure how to get those source files back and get rid of the extra long path to where the source files are now located. If I re-link files to their current catalog (many different paths to files in same catalog) can I merge (import catalogs) into one master catalog?  Will the new (Master catalog) have the correct link to the source file?  If not, how or can this be done?
I have tried to explain my situation as clearly as I can.  Do you understand my situation?
This maybe something you don’t have time to help me with.  If not can you suggest somewhere I can get an answer?  I really need help.  PLEEEZZZ HELP ME.

Is there any solution (other than buying
I really think 'buying' is the best solution on this one.  Ideally, you would have at least five internal hard drives.
    System
    Projects
    Cache/Scratch
    Media
    Exports
Use externals and network drive only for backup.

  • Combine files to PDF and selecting files one at a time - Adobe CreatePDF online application

Are you able to select up to 10 files at one time through the "select files" browser window?  The instructions at https://www.acrobat.com/createpdf/en/merge-combine-pdf-files-online.html seem to indicate that you are able to select up to 10 items and then convert and combine.
"1 Sign in to your CreatePDF account online
2 Click on Combine files to PDF, then Select Files
3 Choose one or more files to merge into a single PDF
    4 Click Open"
At this point I am only able to select files 1 at a time, which means steps 3 and 4 repeat up to 10 times if you are combining the maximum 10 files at once.  I have tried using shift select and ctrl select to no avail.
Thank you for any help on this issue.

I think I found my answer at a different set of instuctions at http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat-com/kb/using-createpdf.html.  This set of instructions clearly indicates that files will be selected 1 at a time.
    Click Combine Files To PDF.
    Click Select Files.
Select one of the files that you want to combine.
    Click Open.
Click Add Files and select additional files to combine. Click Open."
If anyone has any ideas on how to more quickly combine files, any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Combine functionality Batch Create Multiple files and Set Security

    Greetings,
Is there any way to combine the functionality of Acrobat Pro’s “Batch Create Multiple Files” (File (drop down) -> Create PDF -> Batch Create Multiple Files…) and running a batch process (Advanced -> Document Processing -> Batch Processing -> Batch Sequences -> Set Security)?
    Ideally I’d like to either:
    1)      Add the “Set Security” batch process to the “Batch Create Multiple Files … command located under the File (drop down) -> Create PDF
    or
    2)      Be able to create a batch process that first allows me to select the documents (Word, Excel, etc.) I want to convert into PDF files, then converts them, then runs the Set Security batch process.
Right now it isn’t too much trouble to first “Create Multiple Files…” then run the batch process Set Security, but it would be nice to be able to do both with a single command.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you,
    TPK

The first file is the problem file.  If you create this file separately, Acrobat will convert it perfectly.  But "Batch create multiple files" and the graphics are deconstructed on page 8
