Combobox and button renderer
Hi all,
I read the documentation about JTables but couldn't figure out how to solve my problem. I want to render combobox and button in the same JTable cell like in Netbeans. How can I do this? Any suggestions?
Anyone with ideas?

ComboBox and button symbol interaction
(Sorry-- I had this posted in ActionScript as well -- not
really an AS issue...)
I thought it would be easier for folks if they didn't have to
create this from scratch:
Here is the
Sample
SWF
and the
Souce
FLA
Greetings --
I traced back a bug that I was having to its most basic level
and was surprised that it happens with only a ComboBox component
and a button symbol... I traced it back so far that it got rid of
all of my ActionScript and was left with only these two interface
elements:
Set-up: Create a new Flash document, ActionScript 2 / Flash
8. Drag in a combobox component and add a label. Create a new
button symbol and define up, over, down and hit states and drag
this in as well...
When you try test this movie, you get strange behavior...
Give the button a few clicks to see that it is working properly.
Then, click on the combobox to open it and then go back to the
button. The button will work the first time tried, but will not
work properly with subsequent attempts. It seems that the states of
the button are getting confused after the combobox is used?
(help!?)
Could there be a work-around to this? Thank you in advance
for you assistance with this issue...!I have Flash Player 9 (9,0,115,0) on my Mac, and am getting
the same behavior on Windows XP...
Perhaps try not moving the mouse between subsequent clicks
will make it more apparent... I select something from the combobox.
Then, the first click on the button works properly... but when you
release the button (and don't move the mouse) it returns to the "up
state" (not "over state"). Additional clicks don't respond with a
"down state"... it just flashes the "over state" momentarily.
It's causing me troubles because my interface asks users to
first select from a combobox to navigate and then they can click to
subsequent items with a button: next, next, next... to page through
the selection. But this strange interaction is hanging up the next
button on the second click (it never gets the down state).
Thanks for checking it out... I sure would appreciate any
thoughts on the matter... -

Menu and Buttons not showing up!?!
OK. I was trying to burn a iDVD project on my dual G5 desktop w/iDVD5. I would get "there's an error while rendering". After fiddling with it for a day and getting no where, I switched to my laptop (G4/1.25ghz/10.4.8) with iDVD6.0.3. I started to re-assemble the project and the Themes button appears with the themes, the Media button appears with the media, but both the Menu and Buttons buttons show up with nothing but a empty white area! I need to reposition some buttons, but I can't.
Please help.This frequently helps solve some problems. Quit iDVD. Search for the file named com.apple.iDVD.plist and trash it. (A new one will be created next launch of iDVD.) Or look in: User/Library/Preferences. This may solve project loading errors too. Restart and use Disk Utility to Repair Permissions.
You'll need to reset some Preferences. -
Combobox and checkbox in jexcelapi
Hay Gays,
with Writing Spreadsheets i want to cells which contain combobox and other cells which contain checkbox ,i need help with that i tried alot of things ?You simply write your own TableCellRenderer that returns a different Component instance for each row.
It could do this by having three TableCellRenderers installed in it and it simply delegates the call to getTableCellRendererComponent to the appropriate renderer:
public class CompositeTablecellRenderer implements TableCellRenderer
private TableCellRenderer[] cellRenderers;
public CompositeTablecellRenderer()
// create your nested renderers here
public Component getTableCellRendererComponent(...)
TableCellRenderer renderer = cellRenderers[row % cellRenderers.length]; // For example!
return renderer.getTableCellRendererComponent(...);
}It's up to your application to determine which renderer to use for which row. Cell editors create another level of complexity but it's still achievable (I wrote one that mapped Class to TableCellRenderer so it could determine the renderer based on the value's class at runtime - it sort of works but subclasses prove tricky).
Hope this helps. -
Hi,
I have over 200 short videos that need:
-To have the beginning and end trimmed off
-To have a static title added at the beginning and end
-Rendered into over 200 separate files.
-Some videos need to be split into 2 or more separate videos, with the titles added.
What is the best way to do this?
Right now I have to:
-Drag the video into a new timeline with the mouse
-Hit "C" and trim the ends off
-Drag the title into the timeline with the mouse, option click and move the title to the end
-Sometimes, command-x a clip, create a new timeline, and command-v to the beginning of the clip.
-Render the file
Any small efficiency I can find: saving a mouse click, saving a keystroke, can result in hours of saved time. Any way I can improve this workflow? Thanks so much.
-NeilHello,
For repetitive tasks like these, I've found great success with Keyboard Maestro. It can let you very easily create a macro that can process all the clips on the timeline after you've recorded the action on just one.
Use the Up/down arrow keys to move the playhead to the start/end of a clip and then use Shift + left/right arrows to set a trim distance than then Q & W to trim. You can specify the Step forward/back distance in the Preferences (under Playback) if you wish.
To export, you can use the Ctrl (or is it Command?) + down shortcut to select the next clip, use "/" to mark the selection, Command+M to open the Export dialog, then count the number of times you have to hit Tab to get set focus to the 'Queue' button and hit Spacebar to press the Queue button.
Once you have a working macro, everything should finish in less than a minute, even if you have hundreds of clips.
The only thing to watch out for is to set a decent enough pause in Keyboard Maestro between actions so that Premiere has enough time to finish each action (usually around 300-400 milliseconds does the trick for me).
This is one of the abilities of OS X that I sorely miss on Windows.
Edit: About the titles you mentioned, you can also get a macro going for this - a few things need to be set in motion for that, but I can see how it can work:
- If each clip requires a unique title, you're obviously going to have to create that manually.
- Before creating your titles, set the default image duration in the preferences to the duration you need your titles to be. Then every title you create will be the correct duration.
- Set the preference to set focus on the Timeline when performing insert/overwrite edits.
- When creating the titles, name them so that they're sorted in the same sequence as the clips.
Once you have the titles prepped, you can use the up/down arrow keys to position the playhead in the Timeline, use the Shift+1 to switch to the Project panel, press down to select the next title and then "." key to insert the title (focus will shift back to the Timeline because of the changed preference and you can use the down arrow to move to the next clip and have the macro repeat the process for you.)
Good luck. -
Hi To All,
A comboBox with Button CFL is used in System Form.... PURCHASE ORDER -
> Contact Person ... For what purpose Combo box is clubbed with button cfl......Hi Sridhar,
i guess SAP did this because you can't search in the ComboBox.
And in the CFL you also see more data, but in the Combobox you see only the name.
it's just a userfriendly function.

Custom Button Rendering/Disabling with Velocity Templates [SOLVED]
I have a custom button in my application that I only want to show up on specific pages and I can't seem to figure out a EL expression that will let me disable or not render the button on the following criteria,
- The velocity template will be installed on tableForm configured groups.
- I only want the button to be activated/visable when in the 'Details' view for a specific row
- When the group has insertions permitted.
I have tried to steal some code from the *.vm files for other buttons and items used by JHeadstart, but none of the expressions seem to be solving my problem. I have always found the Data Binding through EL Expressions with the ADF very confusing to work with so any guidance would be greatly appreciated. (Is there a way to 'debug' EL expressions to see the actual data that is available to me at any given time?)
Thanks.

[svn:fx-trunk] 11737: ComboBox and DropDownList bug fixes

ComboBox and DropDownList bug fixes
SDK-23635 - Implement type-ahead in DropDownList
Added code in DropDownListBase keyDownHandler to listen for letters and change the selection if there is a match. At some point, we should modify findKey and findString (I'll file an ECR for that). For now, I've just overridden findKey and cobbled together the logic from List.findKey and List.findString. In ComboBox, we override findKey to do nothing since ComboBox has its own logic that relies on textInput changes.
SDK-23859 - DropDownList does not reset caretIndex when selection is cleared
Fixed this in two places. In ComboBox.keyDownHandlerHelper, we update the caret index when ESC is pressed. In DropDownListBase.dropDownController_closeHandler, we update the caret index if the commit has been canceled (ie. ESC was pressed).
SDK-24175 - ComboBox does not select an item with ENTER when openOnInput = false
When the ComboBox was closed and the arrow keys were pressed, the selectedIndex was changed. When ENTER was pressed, it was committing actualProposedSelectedIndex, not selectedIndex. The fix is to override the selectedIndex setter to keep actualProposedSelectedIndex in sync if selectedIndex was changed. Usually it is kept in sync when the dropDown is opened.
SDK-24174 - ComboBox does not scroll correctly when openOnInput = false
When typing in a match, the caretIndex was changed, but not the selectedIndex (because matching when it is closed doesn't commit the value until you press ENTER or lose focus). When closed, the navigation keys were changing the selectedIndex relative to the previous selectedIndex. I updated this to change relative to caretIndex instead. In most cases, caretIndex and selectedIndex are equivalent while the dropDown is closed.
Other changes:
- Replaced some calls to dropDownController.isOpen with isDropDownOpen.
- Added protection RTE protection to ComboBox.changeHighlightedSelection

flex/sdk/trunk/frameworks/projects/spark/src/spark/components/DropDownListBase.asThis bug figures out also when creating a custom spark ComboBox, then trying to programatically update the userProposedSelectedIndex property. The proposed selected index is selected, but does not apply the same skin as when mouse is on rollover or item is selected due to up and down keys.
The issue seems like updating the status of the item renderer to rollover or selected to get the same skin applied.
Please could you attach DropDow nList.as that you edited ?

I have to add a change event listener...
I did add one something like this....
Private function Change(event:Event):void{
inputtxt.txt+=event.currentTarget.selectedIndex;
vs.selectedChild=vsRef;
<mx:TextInput id="inputtxt"/>
<mx:Button id="searchBtn" label="Search" change="Change(event)"/>
***This does nothing for me though***
OR
[Bindable] public var Emp:String;
[Bindable] public var ary:Array = ["Emp name", "Emp number", "Emp id"];
This is my combobox array now I have a text box next it, so that the user can enter name, number or id...
What should be in my change function?, I have:
private function change():void{
if (cb.selectedIndex==0)
Emp=cb.selectedItem
else if (cbEmp.selectedIndex==1)
Emp=????
else
Emp=????
<mx:ComboBox id="cb" dataProvider="{ary}"/>
and how do I store what user has enter....
which one is the right approach and how will they work... I'm just a little confused....
Thanks...can you show me how to incorporate valueCommit with TextInput, combobox and search and I do have to search based on what the used enter...
So if I have
<mx:Script>
<![CDATA[
[Bindable] public var Emp:String;
[Bindable] public var ary:Array = ["Emp name", "Emp number", "Emp id"];
]]>
</mx:Script>
<mx:ComboBox id="cb" dataProvider="{ary}"/>
<mx:TextInput id="inputtxt"/>
<mx:Button id="searchBtn" label="Search"/>
<mx:ViewStack id="vs">
<src:Ref id="vsRef"/>
</mx:ViewStack>
Now what I want to do is when the user enter either Employee Name or Number or ID in the textInput box next to the combobox filter based on what is selected in combobox (name, number or id) I have to bring up the viewstack which shows the datagrid with data based on what the user has input...
Can anyone help me with how do I incoprporate valueCommit or cb.selectedItem....
I'll really appreciate that.
Thanks... -

Can you save your own theme and button set up so I can use the same format
Can you save your own theme and button set up, so I can use this same format for similar content. I want to keep the button content and the theme the same without having to create it everytime? I am trying to streamline the process for multiple dvd's with the same menu and buttons but different content. Does that make sense?
I am only new to this caper too, but I am pretty sure you can save a theme as a favourite by pressing the "save theme as favourite" button under file. If you have edited an existing theme but don't want to lose it, make sure you untick the replace existing button.

Hi
I am working on an Interactive PDF Portfolio document. The problem I have is with Multi-State object feature with several buttons going to states that need to be exported as a SWF and imported back into InDesign 5.5. See, the background of my entire doc. is GREY, but when I import the SWF (as directed in Lynda.com videos correctly) and export the entire doc as Interactive PDF and view it in Adobe Acrobat Pro (version 10.1.1) is when all the trouble starts.
When I try to get rid of the WHITE background around the Multi-State objects and the buttons for them (using Select Object Tool and then control+click on it to change the Properties to Transparent Background Appearance) it does not change, even when I go forward and backward to the page.
Does the option of removing white background and making it transparent work only for Animation, but not Multi-State feature with buttons?
Can anyone suggest any other tecnique to create a nice slide show that works in Interactive PDF in ID CS5.5? Please..
Sincerely,
in need of help,
EveI have 8 Multi-State objects in one stack on the left and the 8 buttons for each state in the stack on the right. The background of my document is dark grey. There is space inbetween Multi-State objects and the buttons that show the grey background. But after exporting as SWF the Multi-States together with the buttons and placing the SWF back in the PDF file, the space inbetween Multi-States and buttons that is supposed to show the grey background appears white. The problem is that I cannot even change this white background to transparent in Acrobat Pro, as well. I used to do that to animations and it worked, but not in this case.

Windows Vista 64 Bit and Button Support - Qosmio G30?
Windows Vista 64 Bit and Button Support?
Everybody claiming that Vista x64 (or Ultimate) can't be used with FN keys or Flash Cards is utterly wrong!
I have a Qosmio G30 running Vista x64 Ultimate, and have both FN keys, Toshiba Flash Cards and (partly) the hardware buttons at the top working.
After a lot of research, I found that Toshiba has released a 64-bit version of VAP called util_tvap_27581D. If you google it, you might discover it... -

Sorry but, i've never seen formula editor for altering position and size. If you know one please navigate me.
I guess you have updated formula editor beside "Lock size and position" - if yes its not right. There is only one editor beside 4 items and editor is actually for Suppress.
Anyways, A trick to change size a position is:
Create 4-5 copies (as many as you expect positions) of the text object. place each at different positions, right click, Format, Suppress and in formula editor for suppress write the formula: If your condition is true, Suppress=false, else true.
Position will not change but user will feel; for different conditions -position is changed
Hope this helps.
