Compare turnover actual month with previous month on monthly based report

Hello Gurus,
please help me with the following requirment:
In have a monthly based report with key figure 'turnover'. Now I want to calculate deviation turnover actual month vs turnover previous month from last year. How to handle this?
Example:
                         CalYear/Month
                         01.2010   02.2010   03.2010   04.2010
Turnover              10            20            15            20
Calculated          xxxx         xxxx       xxxx         xxx

Hello voodi,
it doesn't work. With offset function it shows the turnover only in the columns from last year. I need the turnover from last year in the columns from this year. Any ideas?

Compare month sales with previous year same month sales

hi all.
we need to compare given month of this year with same month of last year. we need to compare sales quantity and value.
the query is on 0RT_C40 multiprovider. We have tried all options using 0Calmon, calday, fiscal year... but whenever we specify offset, we are not getting data. there is valid data for previous year.
plz let us know what else to do? check with 0RT_C40.

Are you selecting the time period in a selection in columns or rows, or are you selecting the time period in the Filter or Free Characteristic area.
When you make the initial selection of say Period 11.2007 in the Free Characteristic area, and then within a selection but on an offset to derive 11.2006, the fact that you have made your selection of 11.2007 in the Free Char area will restrict the entire query results to this time period.
Both your picks on time should be in selections in the Columns or the Rows.

12 Months rolling forecast with prev. 4 month actuals - Integrated Planning

Hi,
What is the best practice for setting up a 12 month rolling planning with -4 months of actuals and +12 months of forecast with IP?
Let's think about a very basic setup, Cost Center planning:
- We have 2 infoproviders (for act/plan) and they are combined as a multiprovider and that is used on the aggregation level.
In the planning layout/query:
- On the lines Cost Elements are shown
- On the columns periods and keyfigures are shown.
The requirement is that actuals are shown for 4 previous months and planning is open & visible for the current month +11 months. We do not wish to show any actuals beside the figures for planning NOR old planned values beside the actuals for the previous months.
Versioning works as follows: Zero version is always open for planning and snapshots are loaded into different versions at a given point in time. Actuals are also loaded as version 0.
Value types are as usual: actual = 10, Plan = 20 and we use 0FISCPER for periods.
So the result should be that we'll show 16 periods for each line (cost element) with the 4 first columns as static cells displaying only actuals and the 12 latter as input ready cells open for planning.
All tips leading to workable solution are rewarded!

I cannot find this 300GB "Backup" in the Finder, only in the Storage info when I check "About This Mac".
You are probably using Time Machine to backup your MacBook Pro, right? Then the additional 300 GB could be local Time Machine snapshots. Time Machine will write the hourly backups to the free space on your hard disk, if the backup drive is temporarily not connected. You do not see these local backups in the Finder, and MacOS will delete them, when you make a regular backup to Time Machine, or when you need the space for other data.

I have restarted my computer, but the information remains the same. How do I reclaim the use of the 300GB? Why is it showing up as "Backups" when it used to indicate "Photos"? Are my photos safe on the external drive?
You have tested the library on the external drive, and so your photos are save there.
The local TimeMachine snapshot probably now contains a backup of the moved library. Try, if connecting your Time Machine drive will reduce the size of your local Time Machine snapshots.

Compare two months with time-dependent master data

Hi gurus,
I have the requirement to make a query that compares values from two months but the key figures are restricted by a time-dependent atributte, I created a structure restricted with an Exit-variable that fills the month in course and the month before, the issue is that query designer only accepts individual variables so only one month displays data.
Is there a way to use several key-dates so the time-dependent attributes can be used for especific months?

you still have the option (before your warranty expires) of purchasing an AppleCare Protection Plan, which will provide an additional two years of coverage. Once your warranty expires, you will no longer have the option of purchasing AppleCare.

Data per month and previous year

I have a requirement that is to show 2 columns, one for the actual data for a month and the other one to show the data for the same month of previous year.
For example:
Month   Profit_Center Actual Previous_Year
08.2010 10000           10.25 12.50
I know that I can create the second column filtering by same month-12, but when i show the Month,the result is:
Month    Profit_Center Actual Previous_Year
08.2009 10000            10.25   0
08.2010 10000             0         12.50
We want to show just one row with the actual month and both columns. How can I do it, without change the backend. I would like to do it in front end (in query designer).

Thanks for your answer. I have tried with offset also, but the data is filled in 2 rows cause of i am doing a drill down by Calmonth.

Hi,
The quickest way is to use wage type reporter (transaction PC00_M99_CWTR, report H99CWTR0_CE).
There you can specify two payroll periods and compare values by wage types, if necessary export result in Excel and do whatever you want.

Comparing the BOM usage with the actual usage for materials.

My client want to compare the BOM usage with the actual usage and have a report for this within a period? More specified they want to calculate the BOM usage, based on the requirement quantity from confirmation - but with out the scrap %. mulitplied with the confimed quantity of the header material.
The actual usage should be based on goods issuing from stock, either as goods issue to order (backflushing) or as goods issue to cost center.
I havent been able to indentiy a standard report for doing this - does some of you know a standard report?
- I was thinking of the following method:
Look at tabel RESB and compare it with MSEG, but I have some diferent problems with this.
- In resb there is no qty before scrap.
- The data amount from MSEG, is so huge so it is not possible to make a data search for a whole period (eg. month)

There is one std report MCRX which gives a comparison of quanity in order and actual consumption,
if it doesnt meet your need, you may have to create a custom report.
logic can be find the quantites as per BOM for the produced quantities
issued quantities to the order

MDX to fetch record from 1st of current month to 5th of next month and same for previous year

In my date dimension I have a attribute CalendarDate. I do have a hierarchy [Date].[Year].[Quarter].[Month].[CalendarDate] as well. I need to fetch data starting from 1st working day of current month to 5th working day of next month by MDX. I do have a attribute
to filter working day as IsWorkingDay. How can we get a dynamic MDX that will find the current month first and than it will filter the record from 1st working day of current month to 5th working day of next month. And same for the previous year same month
to compare.

You can use a calculated member to dynamically add all the days in the current month and the first 5 in the following month. You will need to change measure, cube and hierarchy names.

My requirement here is, I've want an alert on Percentage of Mins comparing its data with the previous day(Month for Tab 3 & 4) mins data. For now I've done this by creating a variable(with Relative Value Function) that stores the previous day or month's mins and stored the difference of these two data into another variable as Variation. I've put a percentage on the Variation variable and put a alert on it. It went well till here but, my requirement also has graphical alert on percentage. I tried adding the Variation variable and percentage and all available measures. But an error showed up with every try saying "Error in dataset values :#COMPUTATION"
Is there any other to do this report?
Note: I'm using WebI Rich Client v4.1 SP1

Parameter for Current Month and Previous Month

I'm trying to create a parameter for current month and previous month based on the ex_date, but not sure what i'm doing wrong.

I created a second dataset below for the values in the parameters.

Once I preview it I get "Conversion failed when converting date and/ or time from character string" I changed the data type to "date/Time" but that did not make a difference. The date is convert (varchar(10), ex_date, 101) so looks like
11/12/2014.
I've also tried expressions like =month(now()) to pull current month with same error so i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong. Any ideas?

i tired this real simple report
in the first dataset - my main report query - select name from sysdatabases where month(crdate())=@month
in the second dataset - select month(getdate()) as Month1
in the parameters - choose int data type and available values - select the second data set
in the first data set- add this parameter..( i am assumming you know this, since you have done)
in the preview you should get the drop down with current month number - 3
and if you run the report, it will display the database names that were created in march. remember we are no checking year, so will get all that were created in march across the years.

Answering your question would be easier given a screen shot of the source table and one of what you want the summary table to look like.
Is the data you want for each month in a single cell o the source table, or does the summary table need to collect February's data (for example) from several cells and do some math with those numbers before presenting them on the summary table?
