Compatiblity check for DB2E 8.2.4 with SAP MI Client 2.5 SP 20

Hi all,
We are developing a mobile sales application for CRM using xapps MSAHH 5.0. We are using SAP MI 2.5 SP 20 and DB2E 8.2.4 . We have configured the backend for activity related data, but when try to run the application on client it is giving a error pertaining to DB2e described as :
"MultiObjectFileStorage: Error in data read access to mapping file C:\Program Files\SAP Mobile Infrastructure\data\datreg.obj - Generating initial mapping (root cause: C:\Program Files\SAP Mobile Infrastructure\data\datreg.obj (The system cannot find the file specified) [java.io.FileNotFoundException]) "
Although file is present at the specified location.Onthe frontend the jsp displays an error message as :
"Download activities-related data and try again"
Can anyone please let us know wether DB2E 8.2.4 is compatible with the client or not.
And what else could be the problem .

Hi Sumit,
DB2e 8.2.4 is infact the correct version with MI 2.5 SP20. No other versions of DB2e is supported on this SP. The error you see w.r.t datrej.obj is not a problem and can be ignored. May be there is some other issue that is created the jsp error.

just try to use a StringBuffer or the more diffcult way put the string into a StringTokenizer and set for delimitters all the paragraphs and whitespaces and then tokenize the string. You just have to determine the length of the splitstring and then you know where the characters are you look for

Design Approach for 1:N Multimapping scenario with SAP ECC Receiver

Hi Experts,
I am trying to find the best approach to implement the following scenario. its desribed as follows:
Legacy Database ->XI -> SAP scenario.
1. Pick records from database table with status ='n'
2. The records picked can have one or more RefNos i.e. if 2000 records are picked 1500 can have RefNo :1111 and rest 500 RefNo: 2222
3. 1st condition is to split the records into multiple messages if reference nos are different, so for scenario in point 2 it will be 2 messages. Secondly if the no of records are more than 1000 then split further into 2 message. So 1500 Ref No would be split into messages with 1000 and 500 records. Hence we get 3 messages. I know something similar was achieved in this blog:

4. Once the data is forwarded to ECC and its successfully updated, we need to update the status of the database table on the sender side to 'y';
So the point where i am not very clear as of now is,
1. What alternative I choose for PI-> ECC call? Its a 1:N multimapping split scenario and as far as I know the call has to go via AE, so is RFC the only option or is there a way to have a call with Proxy/IDOC? Or will there be an option to limit such a scenario at the JDBC Adapter level so that split is not needed. I am not sure if that can be achieved and is a better solution.
2. If I go for either of the approaches mentioned above, what is the best way to achieve point 4, i.e. update the database table at the sender. As JDBC Adapter would be async and hence we either use a Aysnc-Sync bridge(for proxy/rfc receiver) or some other option like triggering a outbound interface from SAP side with the update data?

Use the solution # 2, make it like this:-
DB (async) -> PI -> Proxy (sync) -> PI -> DB (async)
Just out of curiosity, why you breaking the records into 1000's in PI? Why not you select only 1000 records when polling the DB? That will help in improving the overall performance.

Aironet 3602i not working with SAP (NetWeaver) client

Heres the scenario.
Wireless client connected to a 3602i AP running on 2500 series WLC with a latest 7.2 code.
Client will now connect to AT&T vpn client - success.
Client will connect to SAP application using netweaver gui - failed.
With the same scenario, except for the access point being used, client will connect to SAP application using netweaver gui
1242AP IOS/CAPWAP - success
1252 CAPWAP - success
3500 CAPWAP - success
Whats with the 3600 series APs that i cant pass traffic with the SAP application?
Troubleshooting done:
802.11n disabled - still failed
Clean Air disabled - still failed
MFP disabled - still failed
Any other solutions?

You are correct, same config, same WLC, one port is connected in 2500 WLC.
Here's the process for working SAP application
1. Client will connect to 1242/3500 wireless AP - success
2. Client will connect to AT&T Global Network Client (VPN Client) - success
3. Client will connect to SAP Logon (SAP Netweaver) - SAP GUI for Windows - success (see attached sap success logo)
Here is for not working SAP application
1. Client will connect to 1242/3500 wireless AP - success
2. Client will connect to AT&T Global Network Client (VPN Client) - success
3. Client will connect to SAP Logon (SAP Netweaver) - SAP GUI for Windows - failed (hangs on the logo), waited for 10mins but still stuck in this logo, i have to disconnect the VPN to terminate the connection to SAP

I can't seem to download anything on my iTunes when I use Check for available downloads. I have preorders that I can't download cos it just says 'iTunes store temporarily unavailable' even tho when I actually go on iTunes itself it work fine..

I've been in contact with Apple support team regarding this issue. I have about 9 items available for download(preorders mostly) but it's not listed under download. When I click on Check for available download, a message with 'iTunes temporarily unavailable' appears but when I go to the iTunes store itself, its working just fine. I've already been charged twice for the same movie which Apple have kindly refunded me for one of them but I still haven't managed to download that movie yet. Apple says its a problem with my computer and given me all sort of ways to rectify the issue and still no hope. Everything else seems to work just fine including the actual iTunes store, wifi syncing and cable syncing etc. Can somebody help me with this if you know how to solve this problem or if you've had the same issue now or before?
I am using the latest Software updates on my iTunes and these 9 items were purchased whilst on this new updates

Cancel Date in Void Checks for Payment

Ver. 2005, PL11: The cancel date (and update date) is not being set when voiding a check for payment which is associated with an outgoing payment.
Likewise, the cancel date (and update date) is not being set when a check for payment is voided when canceling an outgoing payment.
When reporting on payment activity, the ocho file is not accurate without the cancel date. Any idea if this is a setting? A bug? Fixed in 2007? Ideas on a work-around?

Ad-hoc payments, such as a cash on delivery order, an emergency employee loan or some other one-time payments are created using the check for payment screen, entered against an account number, not a vendor, and the "create journal entry" box is checked.
The check is then immediately printed using the document printing. The payment wizard is invoked weekly, and it ignores these ad-hoc, paid and printed payments.
Any ad-hoc checks for payment correctly have the cancel date and update date updated when using the void check for payment screen.
Checks for payment created from the payment wizard (which are "associated" with a previously created outgoing payment) do not have the cancel date and update date updated in the check file (OCHO) when using the void check for payment screen.

I'm using a Proxy, when I hit on Test Proxy button it fails to connect to login.oracle.com due to a 404. I've tried this URL with a web browser and it's also failing.

Apparently no progress yet on this, but since only the refresh list of update centers fails, you can try manually adding the standard Update Centers to the Search list on Step 2 of the wizard:

Integration of Oracle and Snap Engage with SAP Cloud for Customer

We need to integrate Oracle ( for opportunities, accounts and products ) with SAP C4C (Cloud for Customer).
And also Snap Engage ( for Sales Leads ) with SAP C4C (Cloud for customer ).

In 1408, we introduced two features in C4Service to enable Sales Contact Center scenarios
1. Follow-up Sales documents from Tickets such as leads and opptys
2. Flexibility to relabel the Ticket work center to anything you want to call the object such as "Sales Inquiry"
What this allows you to do now is have a Sales Contact Center which can process inbound sales requests from customers in a centralized organization across all supported interaction channels of Email, Social, Chat, CTI/Phone Calls, and coming in 1411 SMS. Given SnapEngage already provides certified integration for C4Service, you can basically setup the solution to create the following business process
1. Customer contacts company via SnapEngage
2. SnapEngage automatically routes and creates a C4Service Ticket (Sales Inquiry)
3. Sales Contact Center agent can evaluate the inquiry and decide to create a follow-up lead or opportunity, which automatically copies the sales inquiry information into the lead or oppty
4. Lead and Opportunity can use standard territory management capabilities to route it to the appropriate sales person for follow-up

Best practices of integration with SAP Netweaver

I'm totally new to SAP Netweaver but I have a task to integrate our system with SAP ECC (R/3). We are using SAP Netweaver 6.4. The goal of integration is to provide for user list of available modules (Sales and Distribution, Human Resource, Payroll, etc) and when user selected for example Payroll we need to display list of available BAPIs. In general weare able to create Enterprise Web Service for some BAPI and consume it. But the problem is that everytime when administrator changed BAPI process (for example added new field to Business Object) we need to regenerate wsdl and change our client application. Does Netweaver provide some Web Service which can retrieve list of applications, list of BAPI processes and can retrieve meta data of some BAPI? Something like Partner Web Service interface?
We are looking for best practices of integration with SAP Netweaver. We are trying to develop something like adapter which will be able to pull data into SAP ECC system is there any generic way to develop this adapter?

Hi Yura !!
As far as I know, this is not possible yet. Using SAP Netweaver XI/PI, although it adds value to the webservice scenario exposing BAPI functionality, it also needs to maintain a refreshed version of the BAPI definition in its repository. Depeding the complexity of the change in the BAPI structure, maybe PI may allow you to continue working without changes.
Maybe a good practice is not to make too much changes to a production BAPI, instead make a review in development environment, and once it is stable, use it in production. Other good practice is to keep older versions of BAPIs and add the changed ones as new versions to have back-compatibility

Using fragment library with SAP MIME repository?

I am new here so I hope I'm posting this in the right place.
We use Adobe LiveCycle Designer as part of the SAP Interactive Forms product. We want to use the fragment library but I am unclear how that will work unless we can connect to the SAP MIME Repository.
Does anyone here have any experience with making this work?
Also ... is there any online resource (other than SAP's SDN) with specific help documentation for using LiveCycle Designer ES with SAP?
We are on SAP Netweaver 7.01 and LiveCycle Designer 8.1.

Actually I did not find a way to use the fragment library with referenced objects. By 'referenced" we would mean to be able to change the object in the library and all referencing items would be updated. We did NOT find how to do that.
What we did find, that is still useful to us, and probably anyone working in a development team, is that we could create the library in a shared location and store common fragments there. To use the fragments, go to the library, drag the fragment from the library to your form layout, then 'convert to embedded object' (I think this is on the right click menu, Fragments> convert to embedded object).
This way you still get the benefit of consistency amongst forms using the same element, and only having to develop each element once.

Dear Ritu,
I can only assume from your Question that you are talking about advertising for job vacancies in a company through a recruitment tool like eRecruiting.
If so, then you would be defining a posting channel wherein you would be sending the details of the job (Job posting & publishing) to the website in question.
The frequency of sending the data, the format of sending the data & the mode etc will have to be decided with the website & an class will be written (posting channel) to take care of these details.
I do not think SAP can control what happens at the website end for this but can only send the relevant data to be advertised there.
