That will mostly work. I also have 'export INTEL_BATCH=1' in ~/.kde/env/compiz.sh. If it is still not good, try:

Driver "intel"
Option "XAANoOffscreenPixmaps" "true"
Option "DRI" "true"
Option "AccelMethod" "XAA"
EndSection
However, with the last configuration, XVideo will not work.
If you have some time, in a few months, a better, faster version of the intel driver will hopefully be ready, it is being worked on (search for intel-batchbuffer on google).

  • Flash animation not smooth

The animation I am currently working on is at a rate of 30
fps and when I test the movie and export it out to test it my
animation becomes jumpy and doesn't run at the specified frames per
second. I would like to know what can be done to improve/ fix this
    situation.

does your animation contain moving images or a lot of audio?
if so, this might be slowing down your flash player. you might want
to look at the export settings for the quality of your images and
audio. you might also consider loading images/audio
    externally.

  • Dock animation is not smooth after updating recent update

    Hi everyone,
I found that Dock animation (mouse move by) is not smooth anymore after I updated the most recently update (Thunderbolt, EFI recovery).
Just like... the FPS down from 60 to 25 !!!
Dose anyone have the same issue after the update?
My Mac is 2011 MacBook Air 13" i5
    Thanks!

It was the display driver that was in the Thunderbolt update.  Original/stock Lion 10.7 has driver 7.0.6.  This works beautifully - MC animations smooth, browser scrolling fluid - in other words what you would expect from a $1200 laptop   I pulled the trigger and did a Command-R 'reinstall' which put the original driver back on.
The TB update moved the driver to 7.0.8 and some folks are running 10.7.2 (beta ?) and it's driver is at 7.1.2.  So far - folks are reporting that all of these new drivers still have the choppiness
To find out what driver is on your system, run this in a terminal:
    kextstat | egrep 'Intel.*Graphics'
You shoud get something like below.  The number inside the parens is the driver version.
       71    0 0xffffff7f815e4000 0x2c000    0x2c000    com.apple.driver.AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB (7.0.6) <70 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 1>
       73    0 0xffffff7f8161e000 0xe1000    0xe1000    com.apple.driver.AppleIntelHDGraphics (7.0.6) <72 70 9 7 5 4 3 1>
So the real question - how can we escelate this with Apple ?  This is a regression and user experience impact on a brand new line/model (MBA).

  • When I open about this mac - more info and I switch through the tabs (display, memory, storage, support, service) it lags (fps drops, animation looks choppy not smooth). Why does this happen? (over 300 gb free, same programs installed, free desk-downloads)

When I open about this mac -> more info and I switch through the tabs (display, memory, storage, support, service) it lags (fps drops, animation looks choppy not smooth) even though all the mac (programs , interface ) works smooth . Why does this happen? (over 300 gb free, same programs installed, free desktop-downloads -no garbage there- everything neat and tidy.) Need some help. Only there it the animations goes like 2 fps and is not smooth. I do not understand why because the programs are the same so its the usage. Nothing is changed, yet i experience this little issue for a couple of days.

OK, I'm confused. When I do About this Mac > More Info in OS10.9, I don't see any animation other than the window resizing. Is that the animation you are describing?

  • Animation scroll not smooth in iOS

Hi! I figured out to make parralax responsive scrolling in adobe edge animate (with great help from tim jaramillo), but the scrolling is not smooth in ios.
Is there any way to make it smooth/elastic like a normal scroll in ios (ipad, iphone etc.) This would be so great to have! In normal browsers it's fine, though:
I know its tough to get parallax scrolling in ios anyway, so this would be aa big achievement to have...

    Here is your quick fix.
    1. Make sure your Predictive text is on
    2. Go to your messages app
    3. Make sure your keyboard is up in the messages bar
    4. On top of your keyboard in the center there is a small WHITE LINE
    5. Touch and hold on that spot until that white line is gray out
    6. Flick your finger/thumb up and Bam!!there is your predictive text.
    7. FYI if you are typing and somehow you flick your thumb down, you will close that predictive feature by accident.
    Hope this help you out!!

  • Dvd to appletv video not smooth

i downloaded the mac trial of dvd to apple tv and ripped a disk...the video is not smooth..it pauses every few seconds and makes it unwatchable...
any one have any thoughts on this?
i tried ripping on 2 different macs one powerpc and one intel
    help please

    http://download.m0k.org/handbrake/testing/MediaFork-0.8.0b1-MacOS_UB.dmg
anything above 1500kbps should work great. MP4 or MP4.H264 your choice... although both look excellent and H264 takes longer to encode with a marginally smaller file size.
are you synching or streaming? if you are streaming it is possible that your problem is with your network bandwidth.

  • I-chat video not smooth

    Can anyone help?
I just bought the new i-Mac w/intel processor.
My video is not smooth and seems to lag.
My internet connection seems fast enough. I am running at a speed of approx. 2.7mb.
    Any suggestions?
Or is someone free to test w/ me today?
My screen name on i-chat is roozzie.

my setting under streaming was on "automatic". I changed it to match via the options they gave me. (the closest match was 768Kbps DSL)
my upload speed is running around approx 640Kbps.

  • Flash files are not smooth

    Hi,
I am running DMP 4400G (5.2.3) with DMM server 5.2.3.
Every thing working fine except the flash files. All the flash files are not smooth. They are playing like fram by fram. I am using flash 10.

We've run every type of flash on the 4400. We've tried flash 7, flash 10, flash lite, action script 2 and action script 3. For the most part, flash will *not run smoothly* if:
    1. You have very large files, like imported bit map images.
    2. Large sweeping motions or tween animation effects.
    3. Multiple flash objects on a single page.
    4. Video embedded in flash will never play evern remotely reasonably well.
The best thing to do is:
    1. Keep flash objects small.
    2. Animations should have as few frames as possible, no tween effects, no big sweeping motions, in other words, make transitions small and very quick.
    3. Keep flash objects self contained, that is, don't try to pull in too much content from external sources.
Like I said, we've tried so many things, but when it comes to flash, the 4400 is rather restrictive.
    Good luck!

  • Basic 3d not smooth

does any1 has the same experience as mine when you using the basic 3d filter to rotate on the Y axis, it doesn't move smooth. I have only 2 keyframes on the Y spinning & it's not smooth. I've also notice that any animating motion keyframe would not be smooth. let's say I move my object form left to right & it's jiggering not smooth at all.
    any help?
    thanks
    JP

    hi
need a bit more information i thinnk. what are you animating, over what values and in what time scale are you doing it. I was using the 3D filter on the Y axis today and it was a smooth as smooth can be. (animating from 0 to 89 degress over 8 frames, and then back again)

  • Keynote transitions and quicktime movies very choppy, not smooth

When playing a slideshow, my slide transitions and Quicktime movies are not smooth, especially when using Magic Move for a transition. There is also a long delay for the start of a transition, even if delay is set to zero. I believe I have adequate hardware but any suggestions are appreciated.
Oddly, if I export a Quicktime version of the presentation or view in "Rehearse Slideshow," all transitions are smooth. Any tips for better playback performance while in Keynote? I would use the exported QuickTime for the actual presentation if there was a way to automatically stop/start playback at the end of each slide. Is there??
    Tech Specs
    Keynote version 6.5 (2110)
    OS X Version 10.10
MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013)
Processor: 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5
    Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    Graphics: Intel Iris 1536 MB

A number of recent posts have reported similar issues, all running on MacBooks.
I have not experienced these issues on desktop machines.
Try deleting Keynote, empty trash then install from Mac App Store
When playing Keynote, close all other open applications.

  • Background is not smooth when rendered video

    Hi,
I am trying to render a background which I applied from "textures". Problem with with it is... it is not smooth when i play it back.. it kinda stops and plays again.
i tried.. filed options (even/odd/none), changed size... nothing happens.. it is still not smooth. the frame rate is 29.97 and i will be using the clip in FCP 4.5.
can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

As far as I know there isn't any way to change the codec that LiveType uses on its render. Even if there was I'd probably still use the Animation Codec.
Even though your exported LT movie may not play back smoothly when you watch it in QuickTime, it should be smooth in your FCP project once it's been rendered out to tape or a more compressed format.

  • Spin behavior with particles emitter not smooth when close to camera

    Hello,
Just got Motion 4 and was playing with it last night with the particle system.
    http://idisk.mac.com/pixmation/Public/motionParticlesTest.png
As you can see in the screen shot, I have an emitter spinning and moving towards past the camera emitting particles at zero speed (leaving a trail). As it get close to the camera, the particle curve is not smooth. I am wondering if this is some kind of limitation or am I missing some setting?
    Thanks in advance,
    Edmond Leung

Without seeing a screenshot of the behavior settings, I'm gonna say that the problem is how you're animating the position of the emitter. You should look into the Motion Path behavior. I think it's much better suited to a curving animation.
It's certainly not a limitation of the software.

  • Quicktime not smooth between Slide Transitions...Quicktime

    Aloha from Maui:
My exported slide show to Quicktime is not smooth in Quicktime playback?
    Mahalo.
    Marty from Maui

I notice that the export to Quicktime works well if:
    1. You use single-pass encoding
    2. You turn off 'Reorder frames'
Otherwise, you may find that slides are dropped, animations don't appear correctly and the playback framerate in Quicktime appears terrible.

  • Tweening using AS3 - Not Smooth

Hi, im trying to develop a simple web gallery.
When the user scroll his mouse to the left side of the image the leftArrow will appear to allow him to move back
and same goes for the right arrow. Im using AS3 tweening using the tween class but the animation is really not smooth.
I saw this effect on a different website and the side arrows just pops out and a such a smooth way but i cant get it to work.
Any one can tell me why ?
    Attahced i the .SWF file.
    Thanks

Sorry ! just had to change the frames per sec !!

  • Launchpad transition not smooth

After upgrade to the latest OS X, everything looks great till now. But just be aware that the launchpad transition between pages is sometimes not smooth.I checked with other friends, They have similar problems. I think it might be a bug in the new OS X. Anyone experience similar problem if you just wipe left and right in the launchpad?

    Hello,
The same kind of problem happens for me. When swiping left or right inside launchpad, the scrolling is very slow and stops in the middle if I stop scrolling. I've been wondering if this is a wanted behavior or not.
Also, when computations taking a lot of computing power happen at the same time as you bring up launchpad using the trackpad gestures, the animation is very slow (not as in mountain lion) and even stops sometimes in between the desktop and launchpad. Does that happen as well for someone ?
    Thanks
