Compression help for skateboard web movie, please....

hi,
can anyone help me here?
ok,here is the situation.
i want to get the best compression (file size, quality etc) for a 6 min fast moving skateboard film with graphics and slow motion sequences.
i have compressor and quicktime pro too.
please give me some advice on whats best.
i would like to get near the quality of a normal mpeg comression.
thanks

I would stick with David's suggestion. You're going to have to compromise size and quality. Any time you're dealing with web media you need to be sensitive to file size and download times. In order to accommodate an acceptable file size that caters to your market you'll have to compress the video which in turn will degrade quality. If your not happy with 800 kbps h.264 try again with a slightly higher or lower bit rate.

    Hello all,
I need help for publishing web intelligence document (universe) into InfoView.
can't find this information in Business Objects Designer's Guide and in Business Objects Administrator Guide.
Can somebody give short instructions how can I do it?
    Regards, Slava

If the change between the 2 types of data has to happen dynamically during run time them
    1. Use 2 dataproviders
         a. Current
         b. Historic
    2. Merge the 2 dimensions
    3. Use Webi variable to switch between the measure of the current and historic universe
    Ex  if [year] < 2010 then historic.[expense] else current.[expense]
    Hope this helps,

  • Oracle Help for the Web 2.0 Production

Oracle Help for the Web 2.0 is now available on OTN Downloads.
Oracle Help for the Web (OHW) 2.0 is a major update to the previous releases OHW 1.1x and OHW 1.0.x, and is designed and recommended to replace both.
Some of the new features in 2.0 include the following:
    Support for Bookmarking Navigator Pages
OHW 2.0 no longer uses frames to store navigational state on the webpage. Each navigator stores its complete state on the URL, allowing each page to be bookmarked. This includes TOC locations, keyword locations, and search runs. In the view topic page, the frame information is also saved, allowing a user to forward the link via email, etc to the displayed topic. In addition, if you navigate to a named anchor within a topic page, this page position is also saved and is bookmarkable.
Multiple Locale Support in a Single Instance
OHW 2.0 can now support multiple locales in the same servlet instance. After you register the helpsets in the OHW configuration file, the OHW servlet will automatically determine the best locale to use for a user request (based on browser settings and what locales are available), and display the localized helpset (along with a localized OHW chrome) to the user. This feature also means that if you navigate to a topic in English, and then send the link via email to a user whose browser supports Japanese, if the Japanese helpset is registered, the topic link will appear in Japanese to the second user.
    Search Engine Support
OHW has been specially designed so that search engine crawlers can reach all hosted content (including table of contents, and index pages) and easily traverse within and between the available navigators. Page titles have also been redesigned to make pages easier to locate from within a search engine result set.
Ability to Share Resources Across Localized Helpsets
OHW can be configured so that helpsets can share resources such as images and CSS stylesheets. Since each localized helpset no longer needs its own resources, this can dramatically reduce the size of the deployed file.
    Relative Content Locations
Content locations can now be specified relative to the OHW configuration file.
    True Popup Support
OHW now properly supports Oracle Help popup links. Following this link will bring up a dynamic draggable DHTML window (or a normal popup window if the browser does not support it) with the requested topic page.
All Level Merging in the Table of Contents
Using the default TOC engines, each level of the TOC will merge like elements together. This change reflects modifications made to core Oracle Help classes and mimics the feature added to Oracle Help for Java (OHJ).
New Tree-based Table of Contents Navigator
The Tree-based TOC navigator shows the data in a heirarchical fashion and allows the user to see the full TOC (and not just a limited part of the TOC, as with previous versions of OHW). The tree-based TOC navigator is a standard navigator and can be added by including it in the helpset configuration file.

Yes, I am now able to access this page and download OHW.
    Thanks very much,
    Lucie

  • Compressing video for the web

I have had people ask me to make a short 30 clip for the web say of some of there sporting shots, what is the best way to go about knowing what kind of compression you use and what type of file is best.

Bill bill bill... billy B... Will!!! Willy.... BillyWill...
Search is your friend. This comes up three to two thousand times a week.
Don't expect me to spoon feed you... but export it as a quicktime conversion and use one of the presets.
I really like Broadband High... will be in h.264 and will be roughly 3 megs a minute-- will look a whole lot better than the demo reel you have up on your site right now.
    Good luck,

  • Compression options for making web-read wmv from larger avi

    Hello all,
    After spending about an hour rendering and re-rendering a file, I've decided I need some help.  I'm using AE CS4 to try and make a large, uncompressed .avi file smaller for the web.  Each option I try seems to destroy the image quality though.  I don't know what to do to make the avi smaller while retaining at least a professional looking quality level.  These files are for my online portfolio, so I need them to look as nice as possible...so I can try and find a new job ^^;
Any help would be monumentally appreciated!!!! -bows-
    Shawnna
PS:  I do have the raw files used to make these avi's, but it's quite a jumbled mess if I try and open them in CS4.  They were made in 6.5.

Also try to output to FLV and embed it into your website (see this thread for some tips). H.264 is certainly also an option, but be aware that it still may cause viewing problems for some users, e.g. crash the browser. Since you are on CS4, you could also do this in Adobe Media Encoder, which will provide some more encoding options...

  • Urgent help for extremely new newbie - please.

I have been asked to set up a Labview program to graph and log

My situation is complicated because I am told the experienced person who

  • Need help with long web movie workflow!

    Hi,
    Maybe a simple question...
Can FCP capture footage from the camcorder at a different resolution than "normal"? For example, can I capture a standard DV signal at 320x240?
Currently I am finding myself taping a lot of long government meetings where the ultimate goal is a 320x240 web based movie. What I do now is shoot the DV footage, download to the computer, and then compress to 320x240 (in FCE) but that takes forever (some of these meetings can go on for six hours). Need to have these up the next day, if possible. As a side note, if FCE can do this please tell me how!
If FCP cannot do this is there any software that can? I have tried Quicktime Broadcaster and used the saved file which works ok, but I've had some trouble with files going out of synch for no obvious reason.
Finally, if you know of a camcorder that can record to variable pixel dimensions that would be interesting too, expecially if the files where hard disk based instead of tape.
Sorry for the long post--thanks for your thoughts!
    --Darin

    Still pondering this one--anyone?
I did find a third party utility (Media Capture) that might work and I do see that Quicktime will import very small sizes. Wirecast seems seems like it will work (saving the file instead of broadcasting it) but it is $500.
Still hoping to find something better...

As stated in http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5167752 start reading the Java EE tutorial to get insights in the material.
what will be helpful to me of the UML.UML generally visualizes the core functionality. See http://www.google.com/search?q=uml+tutorial for some tuts.
What should i start first --- jsp or db design.Start with both and end with the best balance between both.
What should i use for web based project --- only use
jsp(presentation)+dao or jsp+servlet+dao.Depends on the business needs. Generally 3-tier webapplications are the best: web, business and data.
provide some nice link based on dynamic fetching of values from the
database and showing it at runtime.Check some SQL and JDBC tutorials how to fetch and process the data:
    http://www.google.com/search?q=sql+tutorial

How to process it in the business and web layer is stated in the Java EE tutorial I've linked in your former topic.

  • Compressing photos for the web

I'm new to mac and iPhoto.
When I bring in photos from my camera into iPhoto,
their file size is way too big for emailing and the web.
    (over 1mb)
is it possible to compress and edit photos in iPhoto?
Or do i have to use another program such as Photoshop?
    thanks

    teresita
If you're on a MBP then I'm going to guess that you're using iPhoto 6, not v5. (You've posted in the v5 forum).
Select the pics you want to use and go File -> Export and in the resulting dialogue you have the option to resize the pics, among other options. Then complete the export to the desktop. iPhoto will make a copy of the pics with your changes on the desktop. You can use these for emailing and uploading. After they're used, you can trash them - they are only copies.
If you're using Apple's Mail for email, you can resize the pics in the Mail window (look at the bottom right of the window. You can also create these emails from within iPhoto if you're using Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora.

  • Prevent drag and drop for QT web movies

I've tried protecting QT movies on my web site using kioskmode, like this:
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/tutorials/embed2.html#kioskmode
but despite what Apple says, drag and drop remains enabled. Anyone know how to fix that?
    conran

If your goal is to "protect" your videos the kioskmode="true" tag will be the weakest link.
    http://streamingmediaworld.com/gen/voices/praja/praja1.mov
You can open and save the file using the Safari (or any other browser) by using the Safari Activity window.
You can also download by dragging the link to the Download window.
I use the Save As Un-Editalbe droplet on some of my files. Needs some work to run on a Tiger OS and you can email me for a copy that is Tiger "ready". Screen name (left) @ mac.com.
But I still don't understand how drag and drop works if the file is "protected" via kioskmode="false" tags.

No one will do your work for you, particularly if it is schoolwork.
You would be cheating and whatever grade you might get would be false because it wouldn't be your work.
Here is the link to Oracle's documentation page.
From there you can get to the documentation for Solaris 11.

There is a lot of OS documentation there, so you had better start reading.
It will take some time for you to eventually undertand it all.

  • Help for an international wedding please!!!

Hi, I wonder if someone might be able to help me? My son is getting married in the USA and we'd like to set things up so that people in the UK can watch and hear the wedding. In addition, my elderly Father (who will remain in the UK as can't make the trip to the US on grounds of age and health) has been asked, by his Grandson, if he will give a Blessing during the service.
There will be a webcam at the Church in the USA - this will either be via one already installed there, or may be via my laptop!
I just wondered if someone might be able to advise the best way that we can set all this up - I guess the question is really "Is it possible to do a conference call via Skype?" as the people in the UK who would like to watch the wedding are scattered around and won't all be in front of one webcam!!
Really appreciate any help that you good people might be able go give, thank you in advance.
    Mike

    Hi Graham,
you have to buy the retail full install disks, regardless whether you upgrade to 10.3. or 10.4. Please also post the exact model of G3 you have. Not all G3s are compatible with 10.3 and only a few can run 10.4. You might want to check out the system requirements:
Requirements for Mac OS X 10.3
Requirements for Mac OS X 10.4
Be aware that you cannot upgrade directly from 10.1.x to 10.4! You either have to upgrade to 10.2 or 10.3 first or you perform an Erase&Install.
Most likely you will need a firmware upgrade prior to the upgrade: Firmware Upgrades

  • De-Facto instructions for Creating Web Templates, PLEASE

    Hello All,
I am adept at HTML, and am ok with Java. I have hand coded my entire site. And hand created very intricate web templates to use in Breeze Browser.
Now, trying to fully incorporate LR into my work flow, I am finding it frustrating to find GOOD instructions for creating my own web templates. I have followed several links, read what was said, read forum posts. But to be honest, there just is no good 1 stop source for the busy person to learn how to do this.
I am asking that someone, very knowledgeable in creating web templates, for both PC and MAC, please put together a well outlined post describing every step needed to do this. And then have the forum moderators make the post sticky so that it is easily accessible.
This is very important if LR is going to fit into many working pros current work flows. PLEASE somebody do this.
I will be eternally great full!!!!
Thank you in advance for any kind soul who considers doing this

    Hello Paul,
You're not the only one... I know of several people who are waiting for decent documentation of the XML/XSLT mechanisms so that we can create templates for our custom web sites. My own needs happen to be very simple, but frustratingly difficult to achieve (or maybe I'm trying the wrong approach).
All I want is a file called index.txt that contains a title for the gallery and a list of thumbnails and full size images, and then I want the thumbnails and images all in the same directory and named in a specific way (no spaces and 't_' prefixes on the thumbnails). Trivial in BreezebrowserPro, but so far I haven't managed it with LR (mind you my XSLT knowledge is virtually non-existent).
This is the only thing that's holding me up purchasing LR.
    Cheers,
    Simon

  • Help for mock web service (service skeleton and unmarshalling)

    Hi,
I need to create mock web service in which I want to read soap/xml responses from my hard drive and send it to web service client. The responses would differ based on some input parameter. (small business logic in mock service)
Till now, I created my mock service skeleton from Axis and used JAXB (JWSDP) to unmarshall xml to java objects. But problem is we can not cast object unmarshalled by JAXB into response object created by Axis. And so can not return those objects as response.
So, I want to know if I can use JWSDP or Metro to solve this problem. Will JWSDP or Metro solve my problem if I use it to create service skeleton as well as for unmarshalling?
If this is not possible, can you please suggest any viable alternative?

  • Help for a Mac newbie please!

    Hi all,
I just got my lovely MacBook Pro yesterday... and could use some help with these 2 problems...
1 - on my Windows PC I have a VPN connection to 1 of my clients. When I tried to set it up on the Mac it's asking for an IPSEC shared secret? Is there any way to disable this requirement, or does my client have to set a key on his server?
2 - I am having a problem connecting to my windows laptop through my home network...if I enable the Guest account on windows XP, the MacBook connects no problem. If however [as I really want to] I try to connect as a "proper" user with username and password, the Mac keeps telling me the username or password is wrong...which it definitely isn't!
My thought is regarding the "domain"...I don't have one set up at home...just a workgroup called "home"...so when I try to login I am only typing in the username...the tooltip for the usernae field says domain\username...do I need to put anything here for domain, and if I do, what...as there isnt one!
    Thanks,
