Computer doesn't recognize my Nano but does recognize my daughters.

I've been using the computer/Nano for over a year now. All of a sudden, the computer isn't recognizing my Nano. When I connect it, no drive is assigned although a new Mass USB Storage Device does appear in Device Manager.
I tried connecting my daughter's Nano to my computer and it is recognized. I reied connecting my Nano to my daughter's computer and it is recognized. It's just my Nano on my computer.
Any suggestions?

Also you might try forcing the iPod into disk mode first, then connecting it to your computer and see if that makes it show up in iTunes...

My ipod doesn't Sync or Charge, but does recognize USB cable

Hi There
I have a 4th gen 60gb ipod that has worked fine for about 2 years. As of yesterday it doesn't charge when plugged into a charger or USB port (2 different ports with 2 different cables) but the wierd thing is that it does sem to acknowledge the cable being connected/removed as the backlight comes on and it doesn't drain the battery whilst the cable is connected. Also it seems to charge a bit if I boot into the diagnostics menu.
Resetting has made no difference and it still responds normally otherwise.
Is it fried? What settings in the diagnostics menu should I be looking at? Is there anything else I can try? All help appreciated!

TS1363 itunes doesn't recognize my ipod but does recognize my iphone.

I tried to restore but it now my ipod is blank and my itunes library won't sync with the ipod. The ipod is recognized in My Computer.

If the iPod was not being recognized by iTunes (as it says in the topic title), how you were you able to run a Restore on it? iTunes runs the Restore, and iTunes can't do that if it can't see the iPod.

Up until 3-4 wks ago I could connect my iPhone and it would automatically activate iTunes and go into sync. Now my computer doesnot recognize my iPhone but does for my iPod.

I followed all the instructions on the suggested page. Many files in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\ and C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\ could not be deleted. Message said ""Cannot delete files: It is being used by another person or program"' but could not find iPodService.exe in task manager (also, the "Cannont delete ... " did not mention iPodService.exe).
Deleted all that I could. Reinstalled iTunes. Still same result. iTunes and computer both recognize my old iPod. Only the computer recognizes iPod Touch.

My iPhone 5s recognizes my fingerprint but does not always unlock. Sometimes it will unlock, and sometime it won't. It does not even give the "try again" message. Unrecognized fingerprints will give the "try again" message. Entering the passcode works fine.
Any ideas on correcting this?

Itouch cannot recognize in itunes but can recognize in iphoto

Sorry i am having problem with my ipod touch second generation. My itunes cannot recognize my ipod while iphoto recognize my ipod normally. However, when i delete itunes then reinstall it, the problem solved but the day after i turn on my Macbook, the problem still remain the same. Can anyone help me ? Thank you .

Windows doesn't recognize ipod nano, neither does itunes

Okay, just received my ipod nano 8gb in the mail, was very excited. Now I'm just tired of it.
I am running windows xp on an athlon 2400, connecting my ipod via usb 2.0. I have four usb ports, and have tried them all. I have itunes 7 etc installed.
Upon plugging in my ipod, the windows add new hardware dialog appears. I can ignore it, or attempt to run it automatically, and it fails either way. My ipod is installed as an "other device" named "ipod" as a yellow question mark. effectively, it isn't installed.
My ipod doesnt appear in My Computer as an external storage drive or anything else for that matter. I have no network drive to conflict with the naming standard, although I do have a CD and DVD drive labeled E and D, respectively. I attempted to rename those drives in case of conflict, and nothing happened.
When I run itunes, no ipod installer or updater appears. No device is detected. I cannot Sync my ipod. The diagnostic tool simply says that the ipod connection failed, and after visiting the accompanying Help link and attempting -every- solution, nothing has changed.
In fact, I have reviewed and attempted every single solution to every similar or somewhat-related problem that apple has posted at their site, as well as some from these discussion forums and others around the web. My point is, please hesitate before you link me to one of apple's support manuals--I've read them all, extensively.
I have a fair knowledge of computers, but this problem is simply beyond me. I have established that my ipod can connect to another computer (running windows ME) and appear at least in My Computer as a drive. I believe the problem is related to my USB ports, their drivers, or perhaps (god forbid) my OS.
ANY help or suggestions would be appreciated, even if they are redundant. I am at an utter loss.

You're pretty much describing a problem I had yesterday.
I've got the 2gb model and initially it was working fine. I run off a 4 port usb hub with other equipment running as well.
Everything was okay but I kept getting a balloon telling me that usb 2.0 would be faster, so I routed my extension cable directly to a usb 2.0 port on my computer and all of what you describe started.
The PC showed my nano as a removeable drive but could not be acesssed. If I managed to get it recognised in itunes (took forever) then it just said it was corrupted and was unable to restore.
After much cursing and trawling the internet for answers, I gave up and put the cable back to the hub.
And.....everything worked again !!
I can only conclude that my hub (quite old) does not work on usb 2.0, or putting the extension cable (5m) straight into my PC causes a power drop / signal loss ??
Are you using an extension cable or a hub? something to try.

Hey. If I plug my ipod into my laptop and computer, it does not recognize my ipod. It pops up a message that says that a unrecognizable usb device has been plugged in. It has, however, worked in the past. The ipod charges, but I'm not able to use it as a flash drive or to upload music or anything like that. What can I do to fix this?

Thanks for the link. It didn't solve the issue on my mother in law's desktop, but it did contain a link to another solution for desktops (and for laptops not helped by the link you provided).
The link reads: "If you don't have a PC laptop or the steps above did not help, see this document for more information."
Essentially, putting the iPod into disc mode caused it to be recognized by XP and all was well.
Anyway, your help is much appreciated as it's particularly difficult for me to work in the Windows enviroment since I so rarely do it.

My computer doesn't recognize my shuffle but it recognizes my ipod

I just got a shuffle when I first connected it, it recognized it but when I went to go load up my playlist, it doesn't recognize it anymore. If i connect my IPod that connects just fine, my computer acknowledges it. I'm frustrated, can someone help.

I have run out of ideas - sorry. So as a last resort...
By this time many iPods are out of warranty so it'd be easier just to get a new one if you're fed up with it and aren't bothered about loosing what's saved onto it.
I think you can take your old iPod into an Apple store and *get discount off a new iPod*, but I'm not sure if they're still running it.

My Mac won't recognize iPod nanos but it does recognize an iPod touch and an iPad?

So I tried troubleshooting didn't work the iPod nanos, tried differentt cords and USB ports and ended with the same result, iPad and iPod touch are able to connect but the iPod nanos don't even get recognize by the desktop. Usb stick doesn't mount on Mac, but does on Win

Hello all,
I've been looking for a solution for my issue allover, but it seems to be persistently difficult to find.
I got an unbranded 4gb pen drive formated as FAT32. The device works perfectly on Windows, but my Mac OS 10.8.4 doesn't recognize it.
I've tried to:
a) Look at the "Utilities Disk" and "Finder". Doesn't show up.
b) Format at any possible format with Windows (FAT32, exFAT, NTFS, even HFS+ using a software).
c) Use another usb stick in the same port. It works with any other pen drive.
d) Use the usb stick in another computer. Still, work only on Windows, not on Mac.
e) Use it with Windows. Works.
P.S.: I'm attaching a image of the mounted items. The two HFS are partitions of my external hard drive (disk1s2 and disk1s3) and the other is the Bootcamp partition (disk0s4).
Does anyone know what I could do to make the usb stick work on my Mac?
I'd appreciate any help on this matter.

OK, a SD/compact memory card type of thing used with cameras. The same solution/diagnosis still applies. Failing mounting the memory card directly in the MacBook, you could do it indirectly, via a cable that connects the camera or whatever it is used with, with the card in it, and the cable connected to your MacBook's USB port. It's a bit of a pain, but it's usually possible to do it that way.

One out of a dozen OAM files doesn't appear on iPad, but does in Preview

Throughout my Folio I have used many OAM files. When I Preview on iPad from the Folio Builder window everything appears great.
When I use DPS to compile the ipa file and install it on my iPad all of the OAM imports show just fine except for one. Each was published with Edge Animate with the same settings and has the same settings in InDesign.
Again, it shows when I Preview on iPad from InDesign, but not once I create the ipa file.
Thoughts?

This is my boilerplate respone for the "waiting apps" problem. Give these suggestions a try in order.
1. Tap the "waiting" icon and see if you can pause it. If it does pause, then tap it again and see if it will resume. If that works, repeat the same steps for each "waiting" icon.
2. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
3. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first.
4. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
5. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again. Apps may also be able to be deleted in Settings>General>Usage>Storage if you cannot get the X to pop up on the icon.
6. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
7. If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.
