Computer freezes while updating security.

Hello again. My computer's problems have only
intensified. Originally my computer would only
freeze while multi-tasking or under heavy graphic
stress. Now, the computer freezes while preforming
mundane tasks such as moving a window. It's branched
into other problems.
I cannot complete the download of the new security
update. My computer freezes mid-download, regardless
if I'm doing anything else or not.
My computer is even freezing while loading itself up.
I have been told previously that my computer has a
video-card issue and that the card was integrated
into the computer. Now, I'm not so sure that is the
problem. These freezes and glitches started some
time after I performed a virus and spyware scan. I
think that the scan may have corrupted a file during
it's search.

I had the same problem. It was finished with the update and when I pressed the restart button, it was ready to restart, then I got the blue screen with that loading image that goes round in a circle. I waited like 5-10 min and by the time that happened the screen was blank, but it still made noise that the computer was still running. So I did the cold shut down and restarted it.

Ipad 2 freeze while updating OS2

My Ipad2 2G (64Gb) freezed while updating OS5 yesterday, without finishing updated to OS5, the USB cable was unplugged to the PC itunes. Now ipad2 freezes with ipod logo on the middle of screen. If Ipad2 is plugged again with ITunes, iTunes can not identify Ipad2 with message "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone because an unknown error occurerd (OXE8000065).
How should it be solved? How to stop the freeze and restart Ipad2?

I found the way already, just push start button and home bottom simultanuously and hold for 10 seconds, than Ipad will shut down. After that, push start button to start up back to the system. It works.

Why does my entire computer freeze while opening or using After Effects or Premiere Pro CS5?

As for anything else giving me issues I haven't noticed anything besides a previous Graphics Card wasn't supported very well at all with 3ds Max, it would freeze while using the material editor which was fixed with replacing a GTX550 ti with a more compatible GTX480. Thought maybe the upgrade would also solve the fact that almost everytime I go to start up and/or use After Effects or Premiere Pro CS5 my whole system freezes. Whether or not I'm doing anything, it occasionally happened during "Scrubbing" the timeline, but also during the splash load up screen. Would take the time to wait for several minutes but nothing would change. Hard reboot was needed. After countless hours of searching online I stumbled upon what is called an "Unlock" for Premiere Pro/After Effects to allow accelerated GPU and CUDA cores. Simple procedure, seems as if things go faster... When it is working. But still, I encounter freezes on my entire system. It isn't a crash back to Windows or anytihng. Just a complete freeze on the entire system. I have not extensively used other Adobe programs besides Photoshop quite briefly just so I could open menus and force a freeze within 5 minutes and noticed nothing wrong. Which in AE & PP just running through any of the menu windows can quickly cause a sudden freeze.
note* I have alternated shutting off and turning on OpenGL as well as multiprocessing. Doesn't matter, it really doesn't seem to change much of anything.
Alas, I am absolutely sure, after checking and re-checking 80+ hours over the past 2 weeks that yes, everything is updated as far as each individual program, software or hardware will allow me to update them. I have reinstalled Windows as well as each program up to 3 times, and 1 system (restore?) I had Windows dump everything, started from scratch, backed up nothing. To reinstall everything from scratch, while not installed several "Utilities" or software components from stuff like the Motherboard and its XFAST USB/LAN or whatever, thinking maybe it was cluttering up anything.
Please, if anyone has any ideas upon this and could give me advice, whether you notice any other incompatibilities or anything. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
note* I do not have a wired Keyboard or mouse to disable the USB plugin and attempt that route.. at least not yet, its on my list of things to do. Also, I did run Memtest86+ during a boot and it claims that everything there had passed 100%. I am not "overclocking" anything either. I just wanted something I could work smoothly on, that would have decent rendering capabilities. I used to use my girls' laptop which was an HP with 3GB RAM and never experienced crashes or freezes and I could use AE, PPro, 3ds Max with some lag but not any issues. Rendering took forever on it, but I usually avoided that 'cuz it would start heating up pretty fierce. Saved my rendering for school computers where I could. But either way, now I have this expensive piece and it is getting frustrating that I cannot work on it.
note* Also, incase it does help, I have Windows as well as any major components installed onto the C: drive (aka SSD for my system) while all my secondary software, such as Adobe, Autodesk, etc. are all installed directly to my D: drive (or HDD) And everything is set up to go through Windows Firewall as well.

Thanks all. I have just tried a few things, installing them onto the C drive as you all specified as not being one of them. I can understand it, but at the same time i have a classmate who has their software on a seperate drive and it runs smoothe. I'm on my second GPU in 2 weeks, unless I have terrible luck it seems doubtful being that I can run games and a majority of the software no problem. Through further testing around with a corded mouse and keyboard I've noticed the following...
The computer freezes entirely only when I'm performing a "scrubbing" action or using a mouse. Left clicking, scrolling, or moving it around. Otherwise if I do not use the mouse and I make all my actions, such as "scrubbing" in AE via "Page Up & Down" keys, there's no freeze and it preloads the preview no problem.
"Scrubbing" does not load a preview (the green bar doesn't load at all while scrubbing). But, also noticed no matter how smoothe everything is running in 3ds Max as well as PPro, once I start performing a "scrubbing" action with whatever timeline I use, it will definately freeze my whole computer, Windows and all. Hard reboot is neeed.
With having gone through 2 GPU's, done a full memtest via Windows 7 and Memtest86+, there seems to be no issue with my memory or GPU. Like I said, I've run UDK without an issue. Whether the editor or game. The USB doesn't seem like it's the cause, I've used both wireless as well as wired keyboards/mouse. Still freezes, but now only when using a mouse to "Scrub".
Is it possible my motherboard could be incompatible somewhere? I mean, really.. everything is brand new but 2 weeks of troubleshooting.
And I do plan on trying to run my software off the C drive, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't something else, like I said, I've seen and used a computer where it all runs off the D drive and it runs perfectly, actually better on his computer than off the C drive at my schools. So if it is an issue would it lie within the fact that I'm using an Nvidia GPU? Considering my classmate is using a AMD/ATI Radeon or something like that.

Computer freezes while browsing the photos

It happened already few times that I was simply browsing the photos in Aperture and suddenly the computer (MBP Retina) has completely frozen and forced shut shut down had to follow. A bit strange ? (while database repair was done few times before, even database rebuilt). Something still not so good in the software ?

I have Nikk plugins but they are not used on those photos. This freezing, as I remember, started after Mavericks. I simply browse among photos (in the large view) and suddenly the cursor and the whole computer freeze (once in few days)
Plug-ins can be causing this, without being used, just by being installed, if they are incompatible.
Check the versions of your NIK plug-ins, if you have missed an update. In November the NIK collection has still been reported as incompatible with Mavericks, I am not sure, if that has changed.
Does a new Aperture library work? Create a test library and import a few images. Freezing might also be caused by having imported corrupted images or videos.

Computer freeze when updating from OS 9.2 to 10.2

I have a grey/blue ibook 366Mhz purchased the summer of 2000. I'm trying to update to OS 10.2. So far, I've updated from 9.06 to 9.2.1 to 9.2.2 (the required sequence), updated the firmware to 4.1.7, and installed third party RAM. I bought the install discs (10.2)from ebay. They are white colored and should work, according to the help files, although the seller did not send me the third "tools" disk.
When I try to install 10.2, the computer freezes at startup. A grey screen with the apple logo appears, and then the screen freezes and splits.
The point of this upgrade is to use our Verizon internet service, which requires OS X. If there's a way around that requirement, it would be just as good.
Does this sound familiar to anyone. Thanks for any help you can offer,

You apparently have an Upgrade Version, which requires that you have the previous version installed on the HDD. What you need is the Full Retail Version. Check the picture of the disks posted by ali brown by clicking here However, instead of upgrading to Jaguar, since you have to purchase new install disks anyway, I suggest that you consider upgrading to Panther, which is a lot more powerful and stable OS. Your computer will easily support Panther if it meets that other the minimum system requirements for Panther.
Panther is no longer available directly from Apple, but you can find the Full Retail Version of Panther, if you shop carefully, at online outlets like FastMac; HardcoreMac, AllMac etc. If you know what you are looking for, read all documentation carefully and ask questions of the seller, you may be able to get
Panther on eBay.
I will probably contact the ebay seller, since he gave the impression that he was selling the full retail version.
I definitely think you should do so.

Computer Freezes while importing and converting music

I recently updated to Itunes 10.1.2, and now anytime I want to import a cd to my library or convert a non-aac format song into aac format, my computer freezes. Whats weird is my computer only freezes at 99.9 % importing/converting. i.e If I want to import a cd with 16 tracks, itunes will import the first 15 and then almost finish the 16th when my computer freezes. The first 15 songs are then added to my library and run properly upon restart of my computer but the 16th is not. Converting does the same thing even i convert only one song. I've tried re-installing, and downgrading to an older versions of itunes (9.2.1.5) and the same problem occurs. Any suggestions?

Computer freezes while transferring information

Hello - if anyone can help me I would very much appreciate it! I bought a new MacBook today and was using a 6-pin to 6-pin firewire cable to transfer files from my old computer (a Powerbook G4). It all started off fine and then seemed to freeze while transferring documents. The blue status bar was about 40% complete and the note at the bottom of the screen said "about 22 minutes remaining". Nothing was happening after about 45 minutes - so I hit "apple-Q" to see if I could reset it (probably a mistake!!), the rainbow spinning circle appeared for about 15 minutes, then went away, then I saw this: "Mac OS X has finished downloading, continue?" and so I clicked yes. That was about an hour ago and still I have the same frozen screen: Transferring documents, about 22 minutes remaining". HELP!!!

Thanks. After canceling the transfer (by unplugging the firewire cord) there was an error code that showed the names of the files it had trouble with. After deleting them, I was able to star the process over.
It seems to have done the trick. Thanks for your help!

Computer freezes while running Endeca Tools Service

Why does my computer freeze when updateing if i have enough disk space and no disk repairs are needed?

I have problems updating my softwarebecause my computer freezes when it restarts to install. I have enough disk space and I checked for disk repairs and everthing is ok. Still can't update and not my cumputer is taking longer to turn on. There is an earth blinking then i get the apple logo blinking before it turns on and this takes close to 5 minutes.

When you say, "disk repairs" are you referiring to permissions or verifying the disk because clearly there's a problem.
Boot from your install disc, run Disk Utilty to "verify" and if necessary repair the startup disk. (Not Verify Disk Permissions).

N82 Freeze While Updating Plz Quick Help

i was updatig my N82 firmware and suddenly my computer freeze after it says failed to update remove battery and try again when i was trying again my computer freeze and i had to restart it and my phone shutdown and turned off when i try to open it nothin happen and even when i try to reupdate it says unable to find phone.... plz help wht should i do ? i tried to reupdate 10 times and always say same thing.... and i can't send it to nokia care cause using N82 on egypt is illegal and they dont fix it here...

Computer freezes while checking NVRAM

my keyboard doesn't work after the computer boots up. It's like my computer freezes right after it boots and where it asks if u wanna enter the set up screen or logo screen. If I press the tab button rapidly while the computer starts up, it goes to the logo screen and then freezes. On the boot up screen it displays my memory size correctly, my clockspeed incorrectly (1250mhz instead of the correct value), and the DRAM clock = 200, SDRAM CAS Latency = 2. It displays "CHECKING NVRAM" and freezes there.

Your problem is one of the most common one - either CPU heatsink installation, PSU underpowered or RAM. The resolutions were addressed in the thread above.

IOS 6 freezing while updating.

While updating my ipod touch to the iOS 6, it went to the start up screen and the loading bar was stuck at half way and it froze for about an hour and did not move. I restarted my ipod and put it on my dock and took it off and restarted it multiple times and it goes to either a blue, white, black, or a dark screen with a faint apple icon. I need help to get my ipod back on or how to restore it, because the computer does not recognize that my ipod is connected and I do not know what to do from here. Please help!

My daughter got her iPod Touch 4th Gen stuck early Saturday morning while trying to update to IOS 6. Thanks to a post by you, I was able to get it out of the white screen and updated via restore function in iTunes. It tried to fight me though. When I got the iTunes logo with USB arrow, all was going well with restore until while the IOS 6 file was downloading, the iPod's screen went back to white. iTunes continued to download the update file (850 MB). I had to unplug and let the battery die again. I plugged it back in to get the Apple logo to come back on the screen. Note: I had to be paying attention when it appeared because it didn't give me long to go through the instructions in your post. I missed it once and I had to start over. What I had to do was hold the power and home button at the same time after the Apple logo appeared to get the iPod to tun off. Then I held the home button and plugged into the USB port on my PC and then the iTunes logo with USB arrow showed up. Initiated the the restore function and all went well that time because the file was already complete and ready when iTunes needed it. It can be frustrating, but don't give up. Stick with it and try to get useful information on the web like I did because the iPod is useless with that horrible whie screen. It got stuck on the Apple logo 2 weeks ago and had to turn to the web to get help on that too. BIG SHOUT OUT TO YOU SUPERMURPH!!!!!

Computer freezes while reading from serial port

My computer freezes when i tried to read from a serial port for a longer period of time such as 10 hours. I always close the serial port after reading. please, help me solve this problem

I too experienced a similar problem twice on my machine and I have no idea how to stop it because it is so intermittent and I cannot replicate it.
Perhaps I can offer some clues.
The Labview screen cannot be stopped and some parts of Windows appears frozen. Oddly enough I can switch to the block diagram but thats about all I can do. The LV stop button will indicate a mouse click on it but the VI does not stop. iT also cannot be closed.
Even the reset button and power button on the PC does not work. I am forced to power down the PC (pull the plug) to get back control.
I believe it is related to a visa call to my serial Balance.
ANyway no solution but hopefully some clues.

Computer freezes while syncing

I am trying to sync my Touch to my laptop for the first time. At the top of my iTunes screen in states that it is optimizing photos and beneath that it states a number out of 3750. My entire computer freezes when it reaches 835 of 3750. I had to actually take the battery out of my laptop in order to unfreeze it and restart.
I've tried twice now to sync and it froze at the exact same spot both times.
What do I do?
