Computer keeps Configuring and setting up for first time use
I have a toshiba A505-S6980 that has been working fine for a couple years. Recently I had performance issues and suspected virus, spyware so I did a recovery with the original discs I made when I first got the computer. Four of the six discs reloaded fine. It did not ask for the last two discs "Environment 64 bit and Applications and Drives. I also have a System Repair disc. After loading the four recovery discs the computer now keeps recycling between preparing for first time use, configuring system, reboot and then back to preparing for first time use,etc. I think I'm close to getting this, but need a last bit of help.

It's been a couple days since you posted this problem. Did you get anywhere, or are you still stuck in that loop? If it's still stuck, you may just want to perform the recovery again.

SQL Server Management Studio - Configuring the environment for first time use

I have recently switched my local 'My Documents' folder location to a network drive that I 'make available off line' to allow on-line/off-line work and synchronisation when I am working in and out of the office.
When I load my SQL Server Management Studio 2005 I frequently get 'Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio is configuring the environment for first time use'.
Management Studio them loads and I can continue without problem.
I am guessing it is trying to make reference to some settings file. Any ideas? I wonder if I can change/move these settings elsewhere to a local drive?

X230 - Setup Is Preparing Your Computer For First Time Use
Dear all,
I just received my X230 bought on Ebay and as I first turned on the computer, Windows was frozen and showed "Setup Is Preparing Your Computer For First Time Use" for hours (I guess its a whole day). Since I do not have any recovery media provided, does anyone has alternative solution?

Yes, you are right, X230 is a good machine and acutally I was thinking to puchase X240 since there is kind of back to school program that you can purchase X240 at a deep discount price. After so many bad comments I chose X230 instead for:
1. Physical Trackpad button (which is extremely important as I ONLY use trackpoint)
2. 2 ram slots
3. normal voltage CPU

I need help. I have an Iphone 3GS and so does my teenage daughter. I had not ever updated her until last night and I updated it using my Apple account. I did not think that I needed to make a separate account for her phone as the phone belongs to me and we share apps and such.
The update went well except all of her contacts were deleted. However, all of my phone's contacts were placed on her phone instead of her own. This was not a real problem for her as she did not have a great deal of contacts. But she did need to start delating mine from her phone. It was not until she had deleted all the way down to the H contacts that we realized as she deleted contacts from her phone, they were also delteing from mine!
I need help in retreiving all the contacts that she has deleted. There are important business contacts that I so did not want to lose!
What can be done? And how do we keep this from continueing to happen?This information will explain it:

CS5 is not for sale any longer if you are looking to purchase it, at least not thru Adobe.
CS6 is still being sold. I run CS6 on a Vista system without any issues. You might try downloading the trial version and see if it works for you.

Problem|Install iTunes problem! help for first time using iPod touch (2G)
Look i try to install the iTunes, but after press the install button, its write:
"The installer ecountered errors before iTunes could be configured.
Your system has not been modifited. To retry these operations at a later time, please run the installer again."

It's October 23rd and Muse still crashes, first time using it
I just downloaded the trial and I started planning my project, then I added a background image and Muse crashed, it happened like 6 times until I gave up. It gives me the 1009 Error. I read many questions asking and complaining about it since the year started and still no fix? Help!

Do you receive this error even when you start working on a new file ?
Also, Can you try creating a new "admin user account" in your system and then try using Muse using that user account and let me know if you are still receiving that error.

What says appsrv.log ? Which user are you using to start the appserver ? Which user have you specified when sreating the database ?

Qosmio F60 - Each time it starts up, says it is first-time use
My notebook has just come back from being repaired (they replaced the hard-drive). Now every time I turn it on or it restarts, it says that Windows is configuring the computer for first-time use. Once on, the control panel pops up with 'How to customise your computer'. Plus, a small window pops up with "System Preparation Tool 3.14" and even if I click OK, it doesn't work.
Otherwise my computer works normally.

And what happens if you dont click on this tool?
Maybe the notebook was reinstalled from authorized service provider and so the installation must be finished.
Otherwise I would recommend reinstalling Windows from Toshiba recovery disk again. Maybe something went wrong during installation and so it would be necessary to reinstall Windows again.

Time Machine has to erase the external disk in order to make backups. Before setting Time Machine up, copy the files of your external disk to the hard disk of the Mac in order not to lose them, and then, set up Time Machine. The first backup will start automatically.

Under Part 9. Verify that USB drivers are installed, did you try the steps in If only "Unknown Device" appears? That appears to be your situation.
Also, you said that the shuffle initially worked well enough to do a sync, then it had the same problem again. If you can get it to work again initially, before doing anything else, try the following. Select the shuffle in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES. Over to the right, go to the Summary tab. By default, the checkbox for Enable disk use should be unchecked. If so, check it and Apply the change. See if that makes any difference.
(If Enable disk use was already checked, try unchecking it and Apply the change. Basically, set it the "other way" and see if there is any improvement.)
NOTE: When disk use is enabled, you have to eject the iPod in iTunes before disconnecting it physically.
If the disk use change makes a difference, that may provide a clue about the actual cause. -
i have set up my wifes ipad mini wirelesly, i am now connecting for first time to itunes it asks if i want to set up as new ipad or restore from previous backup (my iphone not ipad), i have backed ipad up to icloud when i connect back to itunes will it give me an option to restore from icloud, i dont want to lose the apps and data my wife has already installed through her account... any thoughts
