Computer lags while using internet

Recently, my computer has been lagging while I use the internet. It's not a significant lag, but it shouldn't lag at all given the processing speed of the computer. Here are some examples,
-Picture slideshow delays for 2-3 seconds when I click "next"
-Video picture freezes for 2-3 seconds while the audio continues
-As I type right now the cursor will stop for 2-3 seconds and then continue
This started recently. I noticed that Safari has less of an issue than Firefox, but both seem to lag. For a little while, Firefox wouldn't run any videos at all. I ran a virus check and nothing came up.
Any thoughts?

Will I need to re-install anything if I run repair disk?
Running Repair Disk does not necessitate reinstalling anything. However, it is good practice to maintain an up-to-date backup, especially when you have difficulties which you are not able to identify. Indeed, many of us maintain two or three backups as a regular practice.

Used to zoom computer screen while using apple tv, since update, my screen is mirrored, but zooming doesn't show up

I used to be able to zoom in and out on my computer screen while using apple tv. For example, zoom in on a certain URL or ribbon. Since the update, my screen is mirrored, but when I zoom in and out to show my Word ribbon up close, etc., the zooming doesn't show up. My zoom preferences are set on computer.

You might try restarting your device, your router and your Apple TV.

Wifi hangs up on start-up, and computer hangs after using internet for 5 min.

HP Touchsmart tm2, using Window's 7 64-bit. There are no error messages popping up, but what happens is I start my computer, and my wifi/internet connection icon seems to freeze while loading possible internet connections. If I turn off my wifi and then turn it back on using the button on the side of my computer, it seems to work correctly, then.
But, when I get on the internet, no matter what site I go on to, my computer will just hang up after being online for at most 5 minutes. Mozilla Firefox will go into a Not Repsonding mode, and I can't minimize it or click/open any other programs. CTRL+ALT+DEL doesn't work, and when I hover over any icon, nothing seems like it's recognizing my mouse. The mouse moves, though, and the time even keeps going (it'll change from 9:13 to 9:14 and so forth).
It ends up figuring itself out, though, after another 5 minutes (literally an entire 5 minutes) and then seems to work okay.
Recently, I updated CCleaner to the newest version, cleaned out my internet cache, defrag my computer using Defraggler, used CClean to also wipe by free space, and updated Avast! Antivirus to the newest version and ran a full virus scan with no threats detected... :/

Hopefully No real Damage was done.
A Surge Protector works fine with items like Lights, Lamps and small electrical items. Where the problem arises is with Computers, which are precision electrical devices. The only real protection is a Battery Backup like an APC.

When there is a Power outage no matter what the source. can also create tremendous Power Surges. This can happen when the electricity is turned back on and can cause frying all of your Electrical Appliances.
Having an APC will save all of your Computer Equipment including your Modem, Router, Printers, Scanner, Computer, as well as Phone lines.
A simple Surge Protector simply isn't enough protection and especially the cheaper models.
Here is the simple way to check and see if your equipment is still operable.
Turn your Computer clear OFF and pull the Power Plug
Pull the Power from both your Modem and your Router.
Wait a minimum of 5 minutes. After the 5 minutes Plug in your Modem and wait a minimum of 3 minutes.
Now plug in your Router and again you must wait 3 to 4 minutes.
Now you can plug in your computer and restart it and don't touch anything. If your computer starts up then you got lucky If not you will probably need to take it to the genious bar at your closest Apple Store. Chances are that your computer has components that have been fried from the power surge. Good Luck and hope your computer restarts.

Ipod Touch 4G music lags while using Apps

When I play music and use the app called "Tiny Tower" then the music lags very heavy while using the app and it's not possible to enjoy it anymore. Is it just me or is anyone else experiencing such issues (maybe with other apps) too?

iPods, and any electrical equipment, produce heat when used, it's simply something that happens.
If it is getting too hot to hold or seems to start burning, take it to an apple store near you and have it looked in the Genius bar, nearly all appel stores have one. If your's doesn't, just ask a member of staff.
Maybe try backing up then restoring your iPod, see if that helps. if it does help, restore it from the backup you made before restoring.

Scroll bar keeps sliding while using internet

While using the internet, on certain web-pages, the scroll bar keeps sliding down or up and page will turn dark in color. I have linux operating system. What is causing this and how can I fix the problem.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Of course. If your other Mac is compatible with Logic Pro X, simply copy Logic Pro X from Applications folder to the external disk. Then, connect your external disk to the other computer, and move Logic Pro X to Applications folder.

Messages not working while using Internet sharing from my iMac ... Any troubleshooting tips/approaches ?

I am connecting to the internet using the Internet Sharing from my iMac ...
The trouble is the messages in the Messages app are not sent when I am connected through my iMac ... When I key in a message and hit send a progress bar appears fills up till 90% and just gets stuck there and after a while the red exclamation mark stating the message was not sent appears ... Now if I connect through my wi-fi router or thether through my phone it works fine ... I can send / recieve messages ...

Powerline adapters use your home powerlines (mains a/c) to connect your devices via ethernet to your modem, they're easy to set up and the they TOTALLY fixed my ATV problem, the problem seems to be with the wireless. Computer crashes while using Photoshop

I have Windows Vista, 3 GB of RAM, and am using CS3. There are times when I use certain tools in Photoshop (as well as Illustrator) that will cause my computer to shut down or crash without warning. The tools that seem to trigger this shut down is the lasso tool, path eraser, and really anything that causes prolonged clicking and dragging. I have no idea what to do to fix the problem. I've tried limiting what programs I use while Photoshop is open, but it doesn't prevent it from happening, even when Photoshop is the only program running. It's not malware or a virus, or overheating. It sounds like a hardware issue, but I don't know where to start. Nothing else will cause my computer to shut down other than this instance. What do you think? I really want this problem solved - I've lost work countless times. Thanks.

If the whole computer shuts down or reboots: you're looking at bad hardware, drivers, or OS install.
Photoshop does tend to stress hardware more than other apps and has exposed hardware problems easier than other applications.
The most likely source of problems is RAM, followed by the hard disks, CPU and motherboard.
A bad video card could also cause problems - especially if using OpenGL drawing.

While I'm listening on spotify or seing a movie, theres a small lag every 10 or 20 minute.
I bought this laptop 3 days ago and haven't used it that much. Any idea how I can fix this?

On this virtual way it is not easy to say what the problem is but, to be honest I dont think it is hardware related issue.
Maybe this small lag is result of some background activities. I dont know how you have configured your notebook and what is running in the background but you can make test and sop some useless background activities before you start video player.

Computer freezes while using itunes

I have a eMac running 10.4.8 and the latest version of itunes [ I also use a wireless card with airport express ]. When I try to do antthing else with itunes running my computer frezzes up and the only way to fix it is to restart. Spent yesterday on the phone with Apple care and they had me empty my catch and order a memory chip that they said should help run faster. Ant other advice?

I'm having the same problem using 10.3 and the latest iPod update. I get a message that I have to reboot every time, but then when it starts up, everything freezes. And, I can't upload new songs into the iPod.

If I delete a song off my personal computer iTunes while using Home Sharing will it delete that song off of anyone else's iTunes or just mine?

When you are using Home Sharing, you are streaming your music to the other devices that you've set up on your home network. Your music does not reside on any other device or computer unless someone copies a song to their device.
So, if you delete a song from your iTunes library, the other users in your household will no longer be able to play or copy the song. Does that make sense?

Forwarding Ports While Using Internet Sharing

I'm trying to get StarCraft working (being able to host games) on my MacBook Pro which is connected to the internet through an iMac G5 which has Internet Sharing turned on and is connected directly to the cable modem. I found some directions online involving using natd on the iMac to forward the ports manually. I have set natd to run on startup with a "-f natd.conf" flag, and my natd.conf has these lines:
redirect_port tcp 10.0.2.2:6112-6119 6112-6119
redirect_port udp 10.0.2.2:6112-6119 6112-6119
10.0.2.2 is the IP address that the iMac has given my MacBook as stated in my Networking preference pane. However, hosting games in StarCraft still does not work and according to this site my port 6112 is still "closed".
Any ideas?

Cause more problems than they solve...not really
Two firewalls (mac's and this intego thingie) will cause more problems than running two antivirus programs on a PC.
Folks need to come up with really good reasons to use more "firewall power" than mac's excellent firewall.

I have Nokia E63 and data plan from my mobile service provider. When I listen Internet Radio, it’s not allowing any incoming call, no screen intimation of incoming call nothing. May be i am missing some setting or so!

Unreal lag while using certain app

I want to use some text edit app or just note app i found on the app store but my ipad1 seems to not handle them by lagging like **** .
Whats happenning please ? What can i do to avoid this ?

Quit the lagging apps completely and reboot the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
Then try one of the apps again.
