Computer screen is unresponsive

Ok well I opened my computer from sleep mode however it didn't wake up from sleep mode. When I open the computer the screen is still black and the sleep light is on but does not go dim. The only way I can turn the computer off is to force shut down but when I turn it back on it makes a sound like its waking from sleep mode but the screen stays black. I inserted a cd it and the computer ran like it should however after a minute the fan stopped and now I can't get the cd out. I have the apple care protection plan and I'm certainly glad right now. Any help would be appreciated.
Please note: I went on to the trouble shooting page and followed the steps but they clearly didn't help or else I wouldn't be posting this.
thanks

If possible, connect an external monitor and see if the problem also appears on the external one. If the External remains blank, then you have have this issue covered in this Repair Extension Program:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2377
You don't post your processor speed so I'm not 100 percent certain this apples to you. Older MBPs with ATI video chipsets have also failed but they are not covered by this or any other program.

    Hi,
Some "movies' are actually Flash files.
This means the Flash App will play them (possibly in a browser in some cases).
Depending where this item is and how it is playing it may be effected by other things
A web page can include javascript.
Apple uses javascript here to help with creating the posting box, the Edit options, Adding pics/smilies and the like.
Sometimes the javascript can be what is called a runaway process and gets sort of stuck in an endless loop.
If it is a free standing item then it might be triggered by AppleScript on the Mac. (or be modified in some way)
Again if the Script (normally written with a upper case S) is not perfect it can cause problems.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer

  • Updated ios 7.1.1 now screen is unresponsive

I updated to the ios 7.1.1 on my iphone 5 this morning and now the screen is unresponsive.  Is anyone else having this problem?  Everything was working fine until this morning when the update finished.  Did a reset with no luck.  I took it to the carrier store that I bought it from and they said take it to Apple store (180 miles away)  HA.
    Thanks

    Try This...
Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...
    If no joy...
    Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.
    If the issue persists...
1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.

  • ITouch Screen is unresponsive

My iPod touch 2rd generation has a weirdly unresponsive touchscreen. I didn't do anything to it and it seems that the entire middle section of the heat sensor screen is unresponsive. I tried to restore and reinstall and everything but that just didn't work. One reason being that whenever I try restoring it from iTunes, my computer freezes. I've also tried reinstalling iTunes and it always seemed to have the same problem. I managed to restore it manually using the "Erase All Content and Settings" from the Setting's App. And now I've loaded on back my apps and music. Since I haven't done anything it comes up with the edit home screen dismiss part and I'm stuck on that. Any help?

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore the iPod from backup
    - Restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod.
If still problem, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Iphone 6 plus Touch Screen is Unresponsive When Charging

I just replaced my iPhone 4s with the iPhone 6 plus.  I had several issues with the first 6plus and Apple has already replaced the phone once figuring it was a hardware issue.  (Actually they couldn't figure out the cause of the issues so as a last resort they replaced the phone.)  The second iPhone 6 plus still has an issue with the touch screen becoming unresponsive or erratic while charging.  By erratic, I mean that if the phone is unlocked, I try to open my photos but the phone opens facetime.  Or I try to open the app store and the phone actually opens the settings.  The longer the phone is connected to a power source the more unresponsive or erratic the touch screen becomes.  If the phone is locked, I can't even answer an incoming call or unlock the phone.  Also, it doesn't matter if the phone is connected to my computer or to an outlet.  All connectors (plug and cord) are the ones I received in the box with my iPhone.   The only constant is that the phone is connected to a power source.  It happens both when the phone is charging and if it has a full 100% charge.
The problem is solved immediately when I disconnect from the power source.  If anyone has any ideas on what is causing the issue, I'd appreciate the advice.

Thank you for the advice.  Unfortunately, this did not solve the issue.  In the weeks since my original post, I've tried three different apple cords and a charging cord made by Duracell.  I've tried two different apple wall bases and a generic brand wall base.  I've tried different different power sources too.  Plugging into different wall outlets, different computers, the USB connection in my car and used an adapter to plug into the 12v connection in my car.  I had thought maybe the computer could contribute to the issue so I even tried the computer when I simply turned it on but did not log on.  While the phone was charging, it still didn't fix the issue.

  • Computer Screen going blank and computer not responding

I have had a problem when in the middle of doing something my computer screen goes blue and all you can do is power it down. Any suggestions??

That didn't work. On trying to install a new driver I got the error the graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware. Is there anything else that can be done to at least prevent the hanging of the computer even if it means less features from Firefox being available?

  • How to Use My TV screen as a Computer Screen

    Hi everyone,
I have a 24" Intel IMAC, 1 year old. Great computer! I saw in some other posts that this is possible but I didn't quite understand what I need to do. I would like to use my TV screen as a computer screen, so I can watch things like my subscription to MLB.TV or any other video that I can play on my IMAC. I saw in some posts about using an Apple Video Adapter. Please be specific for me, is that what connects from the back of my IMAC? If so which slot? And going out from the computer, what does that connect to? What should I buy? And from there I can use a composite cables to connect to my TV? Yes, I have inputs for those on the TV.
Thanks in advance to anyone who helps.
    Bill

Your TV based on the jacks present (which are the same as ports), sound like quite an antique. Modern TVs have special jacks for computer hookup. Sounds like your TV has none. The best you'd hope to achieve is 720 x 480 resolution which would result in very little room for the windows on your screen, and very large text on your TV. Trying to even get the menubar and dock on the screen will be a challenge since TVs that only offer 720 x 480 resolution don't offer any screen area beyond the screen safe area for the menubar and Dock to be visible. It will just center on the screen's center, cutting off 20% of the exterior four sides. Ideally you'd want a 1080P HD-TV for computer hookup.

I just have just downloaded Mountain lion and I wanted to listen to music on my computer screen with my HDMI cable plug into my back of my screen and I wanted to talk to dictation on my regular standard iPhone headphone and I was wondering if it's all possible change your settings Mac Mini to set it so you can listen to those both like your headphones and use the mic in your headphones and there's no settings that would change in the Mac Mini so do there is a flaw in this system or I am just really really really really dumb.

You computer is probably perfectly repairable, but if you want a new one anyway, it is perfectly possible to transfer the data from the faulty one.
But it would be a mistake to simply put the old HD in the new computer.
    These are the steps:
Remove Hard drive from faulty computer. (very easy on Unibody MBPs, do-able but not so easy on older MBPs)
Put it in a cheap enclosure
    Connect it the new computer
    Boot up new computer.
If the new computer has never been run before the Setup Assistant will ask if you want to import your apps, data, settings etc from either another mac, another HD connected to the Mac or a Time Machine back up.
Obviously chose the second option (another HD connected to this Mac) and follow prompts.
If the new computer has already been run (so Setup Assistant doesn't run when you boot it up), you will need to use Migration Assistant...or run the installer again so that Setup Assistant runs again.

To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
Then hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
and select the Library that you moved.  That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
Your first option didn't work because you imported one Library to another. Every version and thumbnail is imported like a distinct photo, you lose all your Albums, Keywords etc., the link between Original and Previews is destroyed, the non-destructive editing feature is ruined and so on. In summary: it's mess.
Your second option didn't work because you simply referenced her library on the old machine.

I accidentally washed my 6th generation iPod nano. It will turn on still but now it has a computer screen setup on the screen, is there a way I can get it back to normal? I can plug it into my computer and it works and I've click the restore button that comes under the nano's summary when it's plugged in. Any type of help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Take your iPod Nano back to the Apple Store.  Let them see what you are seeing.  Only this time............
Prior to leaving the Apple Store:    ***Make sure you have the store staff power the iPod Nano up and demonstrate that it is indeed working properly to your satisfaction.***
