Configuration for resource bundle type XLF

I have defined a resource bundle of type xlf as MyXLFBundle.xlf and updated faces-config.xml for new bundle as below
    <resource-bundle>
      <base-name>MyXLFBundle</base-name>
      <var>myXLFBundle</var>
    </resource-bundle>
In jsff page I have used above bundle by wrapping it around adfBundle as below
<c:set var="myXLFBundle"  value="#{adfBundle['MyXLFBundle']}"/> and used it to set label properties for various components.
I want to use XLF resource bundle with out explicitly wrapping it into adfBundle on every page.
Is there a better way where I can configure once, say in faces-config.xml and do not wrap in every page.

  • Question on potential configurations for resource cluster as virtual machine server / beowulf / render farm

    I am looking for a starting point on where to focus my efforts in researching a desired configuration.  Of course anyone who spends anytime researching in forums knows that one thing that people hate is for people
    to ask questions that can be easily answered with a simple Google search, so let me start by saying I have done many hours of research on this already.  The problem I am having is that although there is a huge amount of information out there on what I
    am looking to do, I don't believe many people have attempted this on as small of a scale as a single user system.  Also, the amount of routes to go down seems endless, which for me so far has led to many hours of wasted trial and error.  So keep
    in mind that I am not so much looking for a handout on answers but rather a more narrowed path of searching and researching.
    What I am looking to do is take the current equipment that I have and consolidate it into a 9-12U server rack using mounted 2 or 3U atx cases so that I can have a more organized, space saving setup.  That is the
    easy part, what I have been looking into though is the combining of cores and processing power to make a "super computer" yet I use this term very loosely.  From what I have read, the closest thing I can compare the idea in my head to is referred
    to as a Beowulf Cluster, or a Render farm but I believe as the name suggests that this is more dedicated to a single task of rendering.  I like the idea of a virtual machine server where I would never actually locally use this machine but rather set up
    many virtual machines that I can remote into.  I started to compile a ProxMox Server, and this was the right idea, however when running a VM, that VM is constrained to the hardware resources of the single node that it is assigned to.  If there is
    a way to be able to have a machine that would utilize the 20 some odd cores that I would have in the cluster, along with the 40-50 gigs of ram, well that would be ideal but sounds too good to be possible. Also, ProxMox isnt quite there in compatibility for
    a home/home office user. I understand that the programs that are used have to be written in a way where the architecture allows for such, but if it could even be used for speeding up my render time with Adobe and Autodesk (which I know do have such functionality)
    that would be wonderful.
    So without writing a whole book I am looking for suggestions on how to proceed.  Can I literally build a "super computer" that is not really that super... more mediocre super... or am I better off just consolidating the hardware but not the
    OS's and programs.   Also, I do currently use three or four different distros of Linux, mostly for ethical hacking and security type work like pen testing.  One thing I have never been a fan of though is dual booting.   Perhaps investing
    in a hot-swap HDD chassis that I could load all the different OS's on where I could just pop in whatever OS I am looking to use.  As you can see I am far from knowing where to spend my efforts in research.... THANK YOu for ANY help.

    THANK YOU AGAIN TO ANYONE WHO HAS MADE IT THIS FAR in reading this.

    The cluster works only for standalone webcache and httpserver installations types.
    If you want to do this you have to use dcmctl command to change from one farm to another.
    try checking with dcmctl command with out options an dyou will get a full list of options.
    then run dcmctl usage(orhelp) option to see what you need.
    As far as I remember
    you have to check the farm id of the server you want to be the master
    then in the second, you have to run dcmctl joinfarm or something like that.

  • Setting locale for resource bundle

    hi,
    i have a problem setting the locale for my recource bundle.
    That's the piece of my source:
                   System.out.println("textLocale lang: " + textLocale.getLanguage());
                   System.out.println("textLocale: " + textLocale.toString());
                   ResourceBundle trb = ResourceBundle.getBundle ("resources/languages", textLocale);
                   System.out.println("trb locale: " + trb.getLocale().toString());
                   System.out.println("trb lang: " + trb.getLocale().getLanguage() + " trb country: " + trb.getLocale().getCountry());and the output is:
    textLocale lang: lt
    textLocale: lt_LT
    trb locale: lv
    trb lang: lv trb country:
    why it was changed from lt to lv if i set it to lt?

    Hi Steven,
    Seems i figured out what's going on.
    As far as I can understand, all characters in file GeneratorText_el.properties are ideally, uniformly coded with escape unicode sequences in the following pattern \u0xxx where xxx are the hex code numbers for each greek character.
    Now, there are entries in the above file, such as the CASE_SENSITIVE entry where some characters are missing the padding zero. As soon as I added these zeroes, the JAG ran normally and produced the expected ApplicationResources_el.properties file.
    Hope this helps

  • Resource bundle is not build

    Hi,
    I am creating a application in which i want to read some value from .properties file. But when i build my project (using right click project and select Rebuild) this properties file is not copied in the deployed war files in integrated weblogic server . So when running this application it shows error. java.util.MissingResourceException: Can't find bundle for base name
    Can anyone help me out how to include .properties file in build process.???

    Is your resource bundle registered in your project ?
    Go to Project Properties -> Resource Bundle -> Basic Configuration and check if the default Project Bundle name is populated alongwith Resource Bundle type as "Properties Bundle"
    Also another reason might be the following tag might be missing from your jspx/jsff page -
    <c:set var="viewcontrollerBundle"

    Hi,
    Application.getResourceBundle(FacesContext, String) retrieves the named ResourceBundle from faces-config.xml and is indeed a good way to access a bundle from an application.
    Now, however, you're trying to access a Model layer bundle which is itself an aberration imho. I already mentioned that in numerous posts in the past, but I won't ever think that specifying localized information in the model layer is a good design. At best I could accept it for default value, but localized message it in no way a business logic concern, it's pretty much a pure presentation one. The model layer should return error code/keys and parameters and it should be the responsibility of the view layer to translate it in an understandable version for the target client (human or automated). Can't you use a view layer bundle?

  • Unable to resolve resource bundle "myResources" locale "en_US" ?

    Hi All,
                        I have created two locales one is en_US and Second one is fr_FR. I placed these two files in locale file. These files directory structure is
                    ......\src\locale\en_US and .....\src\locale\fr_FR . After  placing these two files in the project i was compile my application and it is showing just like unable to resolve resource bundle "myResources" locale "en_US"...  can any one help me how to configure the resource bundle in my flex application... i dont have exposure to resource bundle earlier. So plese tell me the configurations step by step.. how to configure...
                           My resource property name is myResource.properties .
    Thanks
    Ram

    If you have already followed the correct directory structure. Then please check the following,
    1. change the compiler arguments, to "-locale=en_US,fr_FR -source-path=locale/{locale}"
    you can find the compiler arguments, by right-clicking over the project name on the flex builder, properties-> flex compiler->compiler options.
    2. please check whether both the locale properties files uses the correct encoding. If not change them to "UTF-8"
    you can find this, by right-clicking over the properties file on the flex builder, properties->resources->text file encoding

  • Is there a way to 'reload' a Resource Bundle?

    Dear All,
    Use Case:
    I confgured a bundle in my faces-config.xml
    <resource-bundle>
      <base-name>com.test.MyBundle</base-name>
      <var>myBundle</var>
    </resource-bundle>..and my Bundle class loads data from a database table. So instead of using properties file, I saved the labels in a table
    using this code.
    public class MyBundle extends ListResourceBundle {
        public Object[][] getContents() {
              Object[][] resource;
            ResourceLabels lView = ADFBCUtil.getAppModule().getResourceLabelViews();
                   More codes
            return resource;
    }Now here goes my problem... supposed somebody changed the label in the DB table and wanted that to reflect to the new label.
    Is there a way to re-initialize my bundle?
    What happens is that, I need to restart the application so that it would read the table again. As I notice, the ADF app reads this
    bundle only once during startup
    Any Hints. Thanks.

    vinod_t_krishnan wrote:
    why cant you do this.. operation in the button click.. so that the binding or the underlying objects gets updated..
    ADFBCUtil.getAppModule().getResourceLabelViews();
    Hi Vinod,
    That isn't what I am trying to do. Let me try to explain my use case again.
    1. I configured a Resources bundle in faces-config.xml
    2. When my application starts, it reads the configured bundle.
    3. Since I configured my bundle to load contents from database, it will query my table once during startup. The list of labels/messages are now in my bundle.
    4. User change something in my label(s) table and he/she want's it to be displayed automatically in the UI
    5. So he/she should be able to reload/reinitialize my bundle. This is where I am having trouble
    I am thinking of having an ADMIN screen where there is a button to click that will reload/reinitialize my bundle.
    But my problem is how do I tell my ADF app to reload the bundle again?
    A quick alternative is to restart my application since this will read the resource bundle again during startup. But this is not what I wanted.

  • Error: Could not find compiled resource bundle 'components' for locale 'en_US'

    We are porting a fairly large body of Flex3 code developed under FlexBuilder 3 to Flex4 under FlashBuilder 4.  Most of the conversion appears to be working fine, with one exception.  When I launch the Flex4 version, all my data interchanges with the server works.  Just as it is about to show the UI, the following error occurs:
         Error: Could not find compiled resource bundle 'components' for locale 'en_US'
    I am actually using a locale of fr_FR, but I assume it couldn't find that, reverted to en_US, failed again and then barfed.  If I look in
         ~Adobe Flash Builder 4\sdks\4.0.0\frameworks\locale\fr_FR
    I see a lot of swc files, and of course no 'components.swc'.  I believe the problem is that our Flex3 code is using mx components, and the compatibility mode is not properly handling it for some reason.  I think this is mostly from our in-house UI library.  The properties for that library (and for my main app I am testing now) have:
         - Use default SDK (currently "Flex 4.0")
         - Use Flex 3 compability mode
         - Use minimum version (Flash Player) required by the Flex SDK
         - Enable strict type checking
         - Enable warnings
    I also tried putting the compatibility flag in the mxmlc compile line, with no change in behavior.  This project is built by the following script:
    ruby scripts/concat_properties.rb -o resources.properties ^
         src/main/flex/locale/fr_common/res_myname_fr_common.properties ^
         src/main/flex/locale/fr_common/scout/res_myname_scout_fr_common.properties ^
         src/main/flex/locale/fr_fr/res_myname_fr_fr.properties ^
         ../../scout/common/src/locale/fr_common/mypals/resources.properties
    mxmlc -locale=fr_FR -source-path=. ^
         -compatibility-version=3.0.0. ^
         -static-rsls=true ^
         -include-resource-bundles=resources ^
         -output src/main/resources/bundles/mypals/fr_fr_resources.swf
    copy src\main\resources\bundles\mypals\fr_fr_resources.swf ^
         bin-debug\bundles\mypals
    What have I missed???

    You have two posts. I will try to answer each completely.  Second one first. You say I should change my build to include the framework resources.  I am afraid I am not sure which and what to do there.  We combine all our properties file into one large one, then use the following build line:
    mxmlc -locale=fr_FR,en_US -source-path=. ^
         -compatibility-version=3.0.0. ^
         -static-rsls=true ^
         -include-resource-bundles=resources ^
         -output src/main/resources/bundles/mypals/fr_fr_resources.swf
    I am assuming you are telling me to change the "-include-resource-bundles" line, but what to add?  The "sdks\4.0.0\frameworks\locale\en_US" holds 13 swf files.  I tried adding that entire folder (along with the fr_FR folder) to the project library path (in the project properties dialog), but that made no change.  I also tried reverting the library path tab back to "MX Only" instead of "MX + Spark", but again no change.
    ====================
    For your first message, I did a search for 'spark' in the entire project.  It only existed on 3 lines, each at the start of css files:
        @namespace s "library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark";
    I had put those in based on reading needed changes to naming in CSS.  Since I was not actually using any spark ('s') components yet, I removed these lines.  The entire project now does not have the word 'spark' anywhere in it. No change in behavior (as I expected).
    I did a search for "s:" throughout the project.  That does exist in probably 100 places, but all are legitimate. Things like (xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml") or variable names ("var matches:Object").  No reference to any s: object.  (While on the topic, why does FlashBuilder still not have a "whole word" box to limit searches??).
    Note that when I first reported this problem, the compiler was set to ONLY support fr_FR.  In fighting this, I changed it to "en_US,fr_FR" hoping that would tell the compiler to load whatever en_US items it was looking for.  We really do not want any English support in this version. (We do have another SWF created with only support for en_US, and another for en_UK, etc.  Each language is a separate node on our server, so there is no need to mix & match at runtime)
    The console shows a lot of swf loads that I do not understand...
    The console output shows (my comments after ==> indicator)

  • Using resource bundler with a specific encoding type

    Hi All,
    Using resource bundler class in Java one can pass the key and get the appropriate string value for that in appropriate language. These strings can be stored in a class (BuldlerList) or in some file.
    My doubt is can I specify the encoding type of the string while passing the key ?
    This might be needed in a case like follows. Say I have a Java Swing application for which I want to get the labels in appropriate language. The application is Windows based. The methods in resource buldler class while getting the string value for a key uses platform's default encoding type. So if I store my file containing all the resource bundler in UTF-8 I can't read them properly from an Windows 2000 system having Japanese as the locale. The constraint is that you can never make Windows default platform encoding as UTF-8 (or something equivalent for Unicode). In that case one cannot developed a truly internationalised application in this frame work.
    Any comments/suggestion/input will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Sourav

    I dunno 'bout the bundles BUT u can possiblly use XML
    instead.
    u can have a attribute type that specifies the encoding
    type for the content. This will be a totally application
    specific approach BUT it will work.. that much I am sure
    of. IF u read this attribute in your application first and
    then read the value, in that pre-specified encoding, ur
    problem could be solved.
    Just like resource bundles, XML files will be stored in
    local machines only. The only thing is u need a
    JAXP API for processing them.
    aXe!

    Thanks
    David

    There isn't new doc, because the workflow didn't change.  It works pretty
    much the same as Flex3.  There is no s:Module or s:ModuleLoader so you
    continue to use the mx versions as you did before.
    The styles mechanism did change so that each module has its own styles and
    now is sensitive to a common mistake in setting up modules projects.  Folks
    accidentally reference the module class directly from within the main
    application instead of using a shared interface.  Doing so actually links in
    the module and its dependencies into the main app, defeating the main point
    of modules, but in Flex 4, that configuration also throws errors.
    Another change in Flex 4 is that the main app must load singletons shared by
    modules.  That is the result of optimizing startup a bit by not linking in
    every manager you might possibly need.   This means that if your app doesn't
    use popups and your modules do, you must link the PopUpManager into the mai
    app by doing:
    Import mx.managers.PopUpManager; PopUpManager;
    It is also possible that there is a bug.  Simplify your scenario and file a
    bug or post the test case if the simple case also fails.  Maybe you've got
    some other configuration we didn't anticipate.
