Configuration of remote workshop server

Hi,
Does somebody knows how to configure workshop to work with a remote portal server,
so that i can have the same functionallity as it were on a same machine. ?
Thanks

Hello,
This looks like you are configuring EP5.  The EP5 install guide has all you need to configure it to use the Novell eDirectory for both your portal and corporate LDAP servers.  You should be able to find it on the SAP Service Marketplace alias /instguides.
Cheers,
Mike

  • How to configure Time Capsule etc as a local network server with remote access server and for backups

I'm trying to set up new 3TB Time Capsule as a wireless network server (with remote access) and for backups for use in a small office (of two Macs). We have a late 2011 Intel MBP and a brand new MBA both running 10.8.3. We have two external 1TB hard drives that until now have been attached the MBP for storage and backing up that computer, which up until now was the only machine in use. The MBA is for a new employee and we need to share and work on the same files, both here in the office and ideally remotely too via Back to my Mac. The MBP needs constant access. The MBA only occasional. The TC has 7.6.3 firmware and we've set it up using AirPort Utility 6.2. It is currently attached to the MBP via ethernet and it has internet access via a Sagemcom router attached to TC's WAN port.
We've managed to set up a wireless network and both have wireless internet access through the TC
But there are so many issues I don't know where to begin - so I'll start with a description of what we're trying to achieve:
I planned to use the TC as the main server drive and place all the key folders and files there so that both of us can access them wirelessly and remotely. The MBP would back up to the TC and to one or two of the external hard drives - one being attached to the Mac via USB and the other being attached to the TC's USB port. We would back up the important data on the TC using SuperDuper and copy it to both external USB drives.
So , first of all, is that a sensible configuration? Should the 'server' be the one of the external hard drives attached to the TC USB port, backed up regularly to the TC using SuperDuper?

But when you say 'So using USB drive does make sense if you want to use it as a file store', do you mean a USB drive plugged into the TC? I hope that I can attach an external drive to the TC so we can all access and read/write the content wirelessly via the TC network or remotely.
Yes, USB.. as it prevents the sparsebundle mixing with data files. I guess it does depend on how much data you are talking about.. you can use the TC internal disk if you are careful and setup the sparsebundle with fixed sizes once you create them..
And to be clear, I wasn't planning on backing up remotely via BTMM - only to access the shared folders on the TC data drive or USB external drive attached to it. I'm assuming that's ok?
Yes, that is fine. Sorry I got the impression you were going to do backup over internet.
What is the alternative? Having a Mac Mini that's always on? Do I need OS X Server etc.?
A mini would be great.. you don't need server edition.. but I would see how the TC goes.. since you have it and it is much lower power consumption device. It is just that its design is not really for file storage.
One big problem I have is to do with the sharing permissions. For everything on the TC or attached external drive attached to it, it says I have only custom access and every time I try to change permissions it says I don't have the permission to do that. And if I try to change the owner it says my user name is not valid.
How is the security setup on the TC?
The security is a bit tricky.. I must admit since I run windows computer in the network, that I simply turn on the guest account to read and write access. For a business setup that might not be adequate  but it allows me full access to all the files.
If you setup the TC with user accounts then you are in trouble. That makes it very difficult to access, especially if one person already has the file open you may find a second user cannot login. I am not sure as I have avoided the security. IMHO it is meaningless.. since anyone with physical access to the TC can press the reset for one second and has full access.. and can add or change passwords.

  • Configuring remote/testing server

    Hello Adobe users!
I am currently creating an e-commerce website (I'll be
creating .asp pages) for my year-end project, and I want to
configure my Dreamweaver CS3 in order to have a remote/testing
server folder (so that I can preview the pages). I'm using my home
PC to create this website, and I'm currently using Windows Vista
    Business (32-bit).
Do you guys have any idea how to configure my home PC (either
through installation of third-party softwares, or through
configuration of my network) so that my remote/testing server
folder works? I'll also need help on the URL prefix configuration.
Please try to keep your instructions simple, because I'm not
    exactly good with complex terms.

First, see if Internet Information Server is installed on
    your computer (do
you have an Inetpub directory in the top level of your C
    drive?). It is not
installed by default on XP and I'm pretty sure it's probably
    not with Vista
either. If it's not, you'll install it by going to Start/Set
    Program Access
and Defaults/Add/Remove Windows Components with your Vista CD
    in the drive.
In the ensuing menu, select Internet Information Server and
    it will install
for you. Open your browser and type in
    http://localhost to see if the
default IIS page comes up .. if it does, the server is
    working. If not, in
your Control Panel, go to Administrative Tools/Services and
    see if World
Wide Web Publishing is running .. you may need to start the
    server.
ASP should be configured by default or at least it was in XP.
    Once done,
you have a testing server on the computer which you access at
    http://localhost/nameofsite
and you put your files for the given site in the
C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\nameofsite folder. You will probably need
    to use Windows
Explorer to give the proper permissions to your site by
    clicking on the site
folder in Explorer, right clicking Properties, clicking
    Security and giving
the IUSR_ComputerName (Internet Guest User) permissions to
    read, write and
execute in order to get the functionality to work.
Once all that is done, you use the Testing Server tab of the
    Site Definition
to set the path to your files on the testing server, specify
    ASP as the
    server model and use
    http://localhost/nameofsite/
    as the testing URL.

  • Remote Update Server setup

Using the AUSST tool to set up a remote update server on Windows Server 2012R2 which is IIS 8.5.
Working through this document: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/packager/update-server-setup-tool.html#Preparing a web server to use as the update server
Have reached the point where it says "Add the httpHandles for the zip, xml, crl, dmg, and sig extension in the web.config file as shown here:"
I have added the lines specified to the web.config file, here is the complete file:

  • Connecting to a remote OpenLDAP server over SSL.

I've been trying for several weeks now to get a remote OpenLDAP server up and running; configured in such a way that it only allows SSL and requires certificate validation.
    I've created a CA with a self-signed certificate.
I used that CA to create a server and client certificate.
The server certificate is in /etc/ssl/certs, has a link by the name of its hash.0 pointing to it; permissions are all correct and /etc/ssl/slapd.conf point to it and the CA certificate.
The client certificate is on my MacBook Pro in /etc/ssl/certs along with the CA certificate; each of which also has its hash linked to it. /etc/ssl/ldap.conf is set up properly, the permissions are correct, and the following test command ran as my user produces a successful result:
    ldapsearch -v -x -H ldaps://ldap.foo.org -b "dc=foo,dc=org" -d -1
Now the problem part. I open Directory Utility; go to Services with Advanced Settings enabled. After unlocking it, I click the LDAPv3 and the pencil icon.
I hit New... in the window that pops up and use ldap.foo.org as servername, SSL box ticked. I hit Continue, and behold; nothing happens.
It is to say; Directory Utility hangs for a while; after which it goes back to the box I clicked Continue in without any error or warning popping up; but obviously hasn't advanced.
The server logs indicate my Mac had actually connected; received the server certificate; but didn't send a client certificate at which point the TLS connection got aborted for some reason and the session ended.
My Mac Console shows something even more bizare, though:
    11/09/08 23:09:22 com.apple.DirectoryServices[97123] Assertion failed: (ld != NULL), function ldapsearchext, file search.c, line 76.
My suspicion is that Directory Utility can't verify the server certificate and aborts the TLS connection. I expect it also uses /etc/openldap/ldap.conf? How can I diagnose the root of this problem?
Thanks a lot for your assistance; I just can't figure this out and any hint or pointer would be greatly appreciated. It now just looks like OSX does not support a secure LDAP over SSL configuration.
Though it currently isn't set up to be that way, I'd like to have my client also provide a certificate (CN=lhunath.foo.org) and have the server validate that. For now I've got the server set to:
    TLSVerifyClient never
    (And of course, the client:)
    TLS_REQCERT demand

By the way; about the assertion error I get in Console; here's the relevant source of ldap.c. Looks like ld is not set; probably something going wrong before that with setting up the TLS connection, perhaps? Or not?
    * ldapsearchext - initiate an ldap search operation.
    * Parameters:
    * ld LDAP descriptor
    int
    ldapsearchext(
    LDAP *ld,
    assert( ld != NULL );

  • How to create a Flex3 project with remote ColdFusion server?

I have a question related to Flex 3 and ColdFusion that it might be simple to answer but I have been struggling with it for a while.
How to create a Flex application using Flex Builder 3 that uses ColdFusion, but the ColdFusion server is not installed locally but in a remote server?
I need to create a Flex application to use with ColdFusion and although this is a simple procedure when we are creating the project in a computer where you have ColdFusion installed locally (as all books shows examples of it), but what if the ColdFusion server is installed in another machine in the network?
My current situation is the following:
    -          I have Flex Builder 3 install in my PC at work and its workspace is in a folder in the network outside of my PC.
    -          We have a server (ISWEB1) partition in two drives; C, where the ColdFusion 8 is installed and D where all the files the developers work with reside. The ColdFusion installation runs in a server where IIS is used as the web server.
    -          I have the drive D on the server ISWEB1 mapped to one of my letter drives and can access it easily
    -          The drive C on the Server can only be accessed remotely (or through the web to access the ColdFusion admin page) and is not exposed to the network as drive D is.
My problem is, I need to create a Flex 3 application that uses ColdFusion using remote object access service (CF Flash Remoting) but I wanted to point to the installation version on the server ISWEB1 and not to the one installed locally. The Configure ColdFusion Server screen in the Flex Builder asked me for the location of ColdFusion root folder, Web root, and root URL. There is no way I can point to the server (ISWEB1)where ColdFusion is installed as those fields seem to required a address that points to a local install or a mapping on that local server.
The work around that could be used is to use the ColdFusion developers edition I have installed locally and use during the creation of the project in Flex Builder, but then I would have to have all the same data sources, mappings, and CFCs in my the local server in order to test, which seems double work. To aggravate that when you try to test the application Flex writes the files to the local server and unless you have everything available locally it would not work properly. I am trying to avoid duplicating the work. Ideally I would like to test the Flex application on the server where the CF is installed and where the Flex Builder workspace is.

Sort of. I found this article below that helped me to connect to the remote CF server using MXML. It seems that you have to create a regular project in Flex with Aplication Server Type set to None and connect to CF using the endpoint attribute of the RemoteObject MXML tag or via AS.
    http://www.aliaspooryorik.com/blog/index.cfm/e/posts.details/post/200
However I found out after getting error using the AS3 code to use the endpoint property that
mx.rpc.remoting.RemoteObject does not support  the "endpoint" property

  • Trying to configure a Win 2003 Server to use TLS server authentication . . .

    I am trying to
configure a Win 2003 Server to use TLS server authentication following Method 2 in KB 895443 - see below:-
Method 2: By using the Certificate Request Wizard
The following steps describe how to obtain a certificate from a Windows Server 2003 Certification Authority. You can also request a certificate from a Windows 2000
Certification Authority. Additionally, you must have Read permissions and Enroll permissions on the certificate template file to successfully request a certificate. Use this method if one or more of the following conditions are true:
You want to request a certificate from an Enterprise Certification Authority.
You want to request a certificate that is based on a template where the subject name is generated by Windows.
You want to obtain a certificate that does not require administrator approval before the certificate is issued.
To obtain a certificate, follow these steps:
Click Start, click Run, type mmc, and then click OK.
On the File menu, click Add/Remove Snap-in.
Click Add, click Certificates, and then click Add.
Click Computer account, and then click Next.
If you want to add a certificate to the local computer, click Local computer. If you want to add a certificate to a remote computer, click Another
computer, and then type the name of that remote computer in the Another computer box.
    Click Finish.
In the Add Standalone Snap-in dialog box, click Close, and then click OK in the Add/Remove
    Snap-in dialog box.
Under Console Root, click Certificates (Local Computer).
Note If you configured the Certificates MMC snap-in to manage a remote computer, click Certificates (servername)instead of Certificates (Local Computer).
On the View menu, click Options.
In the View Options dialog box, click Certificate purpose, and then click OK.
In the right pane, right-click Server Authentication, point to All Tasks, and then click Request New Certificate.
In the Certificate Request Wizard that starts, click Next.
In the Certificate types list, click Server Authentication, click to select the Advanced check box,
    and then click Next.
In the Cryptographic Service Providers list, click Microsoft RSA SChannel Cryptographic Provider.
I get as far as step 11 and I get the error message:-
The wizard cannot be started because of one or more of the following conditions:
    - There are no trusted certification authorities (CAs) available.
    - You do not have the permissions to request certificates from the available CAs.
    - The available CAs issue certificates for which you do not have permissions.
This is covered in KB 927066 – see below:-
To resolve the problem, follow these steps:
Verify that the CERTSVC_DCOM_ACCESS group exists in the domain that hosts the certification authority. This group is in the CN=Users container.
To do this, follow these steps:
    Click Start, click Run,
type Dsa.msc, and then click OK.
In the left pane, click the Users container.
Verify that the CERTSVC_DCOM_ACCESS group is in the right
pane. If the CERTSVC_DCOM_ACCESS group is not in the right pane, go to step 4.
Verify that the CERTSVC_DCOM_ACCESS group includes the following member groups:
    Domain Users
    Domain Computers
If these member groups do not exist in the CERTSVC_DCOM_ACCESS group, go to step 4.
Note If users or computers in other domains need to enroll against the certification authority, you must also add those users and computers to the CERTSVC_DCOM_ACCESS group. If the current problem occurs on a domain
controller, you must also add the Enterprise Domain Controllers group to the CERTSVC_DCOM_ACCESS group. By default, domain controllers are not members of the Domain Computers global group. Therefore, domain controllers
do not have sufficient DCOM permissions.
Verify that the CERTSVC_DCOM_ACCESS group has the appropriate DCOM Access permissions and DCOM Launch and Activation permissions on the computer that hosts the certification
    authority.
    Click Start, point to Program,
point to Administrative Tools, and then click Component Services.
    Expand the Component Services node.
    Expand the Computers node.
Right-click the My Computer node, and
    then click Properties.
    Click the COM Security tab.
    Under Access Permission, click Edit
    Limits.
Verify that the CERTSVC_DCOM_ACCESS group has Allow Local Access and Allow
Remote Access permissions, and then click Cancel.
Under Launch and Activation Permissions, click Edit
    Limits.
Verify that the CERTSVC_DCOM_ACCESS group has Allow Local Activation and Allow
Remote Activationpermissions, and then click Cancel.
Click Cancel, and then close the Component
    Services console.
Settings may be incorrect if any one of the following conditions is true:
The CERTSVC_DCOM_ACCESS group does not exist.
The default membership of the CERTSVC_DCOM_ACCESS group is incorrect.
The CERTSVC_DCOM_ACCESS group does not have the correct permissions.
If any one setting is incorrect, run the following commands at a command prompt. Press ENTER after each command.
    certutil -setreg SetupStatus -SETUP_DCOM_SECURITY_UPDATED_FLAG
    net stop certsvc
    net start certsvc
Repeat steps 1 through 3 to verify that all the settings are correct.
Note If the changes affect the group membership of the certification authority server, you must restart the server for the changes to take effect.
The only part of the above instructions which I have not been able to complete is:-
“you must also add the Enterprise Domain Controllers group to the CERTSVC_DCOM_ACCESS group”.
When I click on the CERTSVC_DCOM_ACCESS user then click the Members tab & go to add Enterprise Domain Controllers the option is not there.

    Hi Nick,
Have you successfully set up an enterprise CA?
If yes, is the enterprise CA’s certificate located under the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store?
    Best Regards,
    Amy

  • Errors when deploying application to a remote WebLogic server using Eclipse

I'm using Eclipse with OEPE for WebLogic 10.3.5 on linux and running a weblogic server versioned the same.
I've created a new EAR which combined several EARs that I had, and deployed it on my local server using the 'servers' tab in Eclipse. It went well.
When I tried to deploy the EAR into my remote server, I got the exception:
Application archive not found : myworkspace/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.resources/.projects/MyEAR/beadep/remote_weblogic/MyEAR/split_src.ear
This also happens when trying to deploy the EAR to a server that runs on my computer but configured as 'remote' in Eclipse. This does not happen for any other application of mine.
Next thing I tried is to update my Eclipse OEPE and server to 12.1.1, so I've downloaded the two, installed them both as new, and now when I'm looking for remote servers in the Eclipse, instead of writing the server status (republish/synchronized) it writes:
User: myuser, failed to be authenticated
I'm lost. How can I deploy my application with Eclipse OEPE to a remote weblogic server?

  • Trying to install WSUS role on Windows Server 2012 R2 using dedicated SQL Instance with static port on remote SQL Server 2012 SP1 CU7 on Windows Server 2012 R2.

I am trying to install WSUS role on Windows Server 2012 R2 using dedicated SQL Instance with static port on remote SQL Server 2012 SP1 CU7 on Windows Server 2012 R2.
It verifies the connection and then throws the error:
The request to add or remove features on the specified server failed. The operation cannot be completed, because the server you specified requires a restart.
    WSUS Server : Windows Server 2012 R2
    Remote SQL Server: 2012 SP1 CU7 hosted on Windows Server 2012 R2
Please let me know if anyone has experienced this issue.

We were trying to install WSUS role on Windows Server 2012 R2 using dedicated SQL Instance with static port on remote SQL Server 2012 SP1 CU7 on Windows Server 2012 R2.
It verifies the connection and then throws the error:
The request to add or remove features on the specified server failed. The operation cannot be completed, because the server you specified requires a restart.
Same error even after rebooting the server multiple times.

    Event ID 7000:
The Windows Internal Database service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not start due to a logon failure.
    Event ID 7041
The MSSQL$MICROSOFT##WID service was unable to log on as NT SERVICE\MSSQL$MICROSOFT##WID with the currently configured password due to the following error:
Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.
    Service: MSSQL$MICROSOFT##WID
    Domain and account: NT SERVICE\MSSQL$MICROSOFT##WID
This service account does not have the required user right "Log on as a service."
    User Action
Assign "Log on as a service" to the service account on this computer. You can use Local Security Settings (Secpol.msc) to do this. If this computer is a node in a cluster, check that this user
right is assigned to the Cluster service account on all nodes in the cluster.
If you have already assigned this user right to the service account, and the user right appears to be removed, check with your domain administrator to find out if a Group Policy object associated
with this node might be removing the right.
    I found following article:
"MSSQL$MICROSOFT##WID service was unable to log on as NT SERVICE\MSSQL$MICROSOFT##WID" error when you install WID in Windows Server 2012
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2832204/en-us
To work around the issue, use one of the following methods:
Assign the Log on as a service user right to NT SERVICE\ALL SERVICES in the GPO that defines the user right.
Exclude the computer from the GPO that defines the user right.
We moved the SCCM server to OU where no policies were getting applied and then applied the new GPO to that OU. Restarted the server and we were able to install WSUS role.

Any Good ADVICE would be welcomed.

I already did what you advised - installing admin server on each machine. I tested throught connecting admin console, modifying ldap, mail config and adding users.
To say about running 'comm_dssetup.pl' script , if I didn't I could not even setup and configure mail server.
In a month, there is a chance to setup both mail and ldap servers on diferrent machines.
I am a little bit worry. What did I wrong?
    welcomed... any words of advice..

  • Can't get mobile device to auto configure the active sync server

    Hello
I am trying to get my costumer mobile devices to auto configure the active sync server name so they don't have to type it in. I believe I have everything in place Certificates are fine. I populated the external url on the active sync
    object in Exchange.
DNS is set up correct. I ran the Exchange Connectivity Analyzer and it runs perfectly. The only test step if fails on is the first attempt to contact the autodiscover service using just the domain name and that is because we have a
record in DNS so our domain name points to our public web server but all the other tests run fine. At the end, it even displays the xml file contents and shows me the external url of the active sync object.
I get a successful run but it first shows SSL certifiate of our public Web site and then hangs on the server config and then prompts me to enter in the server name and domain. My external url in Exchange looks like this:
    https://remote.domain.com/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync
    Any Help??
    Eddie

Thank you for replaying but there is already internal A record that points to Exchange server. Firewall, DNS external and internal are setup like this:
    Firewall:
Port 443 and 25 points to Internal IP of our Exchange 2013 (only mail server in company).
    Port 80 not open.
    External DNS records:
autodiscover.mydomain.com à points to our WAN IP
remote.mydomain.com à points to our WAN IP
mydomain.com à points to external online webhosting
    Internal DNS records:
autodiscover.mydomain.com à points to ours Exchange 2013 internal IP
Remote.mydomain.com à points to ours Exchange 2013 internal IP
mydomain.com à points to external online webhosting
Test form "ExchangeConnectivityTest.com" is Successful but with warnings.
    Warnings are about https://mydomain.com/AutoDiscover/AutoDiscover.XML
    because
    https://mydomain.com is
pointing to website, which is hosted externally.

  • Kerberos Configuration Manager for SQL Server: Access of system information failed!

I'm trying to use the new Kerberos Configuration Manager for SQL Server tool that was released recently to verify SPN on several SQL Servers, but any time I attempt to connect to a server I get the following error in the log:
6/24/2013 3:48:22 PM Info: Connect to WMI, \\<HOSTNAME>\root\cimv2
6/24/2013 3:48:25 PM Error: Access of system information failed System.DirectoryServices.AccountManagement.PrincipalOperationException: An error (1332) occurred while enumerating the group membership.  The member's SID could not be resolved.

at KerberosConfigMgr.Utility.Login(String serverName, String login, String password, Boolean isCmdLine, Form uiForm)
Things I have tried to resolve this:
    1. Verified that my account is a Domain Admin.
    2. Attempt to connect locally without inputting any information for server/user/pw
    3. Attempt to connect remotely using server/user/pw
I always receive the same error message and log: Access of system information failed!
Has anyone else run into this issue?

    Update to this:
There were some invalid user accounts added to the Local Administrators group only showing up as a GUID. This caused the enumeration of the group to fail and generate the error in my original post. Removing those user accounts from the Administrators group
    got past the enumeration error.
However, now when attempting to connect to the servers (locally or remotely) I get this error:
6/27/2013 10:24:24 AM Info: Connect to WMI, \root\cimv2
6/27/2013 10:24:38 AM Error: Access of system information failed System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80070035): The network path was not found.

  • Configuration Manager Remote Control: rc.exe - Entry Point Not Found

It appears this may have been caused by a patch since it happened after our systems were patched, but I can't be sure.  This issue was reported before on SCCM servers that had KB2830477 installed.  In some cases removing it works, but not in all
    cases.
To create this error, we right-click a computer in a collection in the SCCM admin console on one of the SCCM servers, we get the message "Configuration Manager Remote Control: rc.exe - Entry Point Not Found" with the text "The procedure entry
point PdhAddEnglishCounterW could not be located in the dynamic link library pdh.dll."  If the SCCM admin console is installed on a workstation, this can be used to start Remote Tools without a problem.  This is only on Windows 2008 R2 servers
    running the SCCM Admin console.

Does this continue to occur if you reinstall the console?
Does the console match the version of the ConfigMgr site?
Have you reviewed your AV logs to see if it might be getting in the way?
Have you used procmon to potentially identify issues with locating the the DLL?
Does this happen when folks are launching the admin console while directly RDPed into the server or when the console is served up using RemoteApp (given that's what the mentioned hotfix is for)?
