Configuration of SAP MDG User Interface in Customer Namespace - 7.0

Hello All.
I have been constantly reading about the mentioned content,
SAP MDG user interfaces from one single place. A dedicated WebDynpro application is provided to manage all user interface configurations.
You can also copy a standard SAP user interface configuration to the customer namespace and configure it to your requirements.
Can anyone give more details about the SAP MDG User Interface or share any links which denotes the same in detail.
Any Help Appreciated !!.

The document mentioned in the link does not state anything related to use user interface in customer namespace as suggested by sap in Innovations page. this is more about FPM applications.
Can you please suggest how do we use MDG User Interface in the customer environment directly as suggested by SAP.

This is most probably the result of metadata corruption on runtime.
A possible workaround for this situation is:
Undeploy all the metadata DCs of all the CAF applications you have
deployed (these are the components which names end on "/metadata", excl.
caf/core/metadata and caf/tc/metadata (which are part of CAF itself)).
And then deploy the CAF applications again.

UI configuration in SAP MDG 7.0 for Financial

Hello all
Now I'm working in sap MDG 7.0 SP2 for Financial. I want to create UI configuration based on change request step.
I copied standard ui configuration for Cost center MDGF_0G_OVP_CCTR into Z configuration. I also configured Properties of change request step
and link logical action, but when I create cost center, my change request form is missing.
Please help to find out,maybe I missed some step...

Please find answer to your queries. As suggested by Marcus, don't copy the UI unless its really required.
1. Requester fill cost center description - Create a change request type with CCTR / CCTRH and CCTRG added in it. Don't select single object or object required. When requester will create a request for cost center, they will able to fill up only description.
2. When the request is with approver, they can change any field if the request is not read only. You can either give read only access or give full authorization. These are the only 2 options available and I feel its valid.

concerning CRM User Interfaces it is very simple:
1. WebClient UI: is the only supported User Interface for Users since CRM 5.1 and this is also the way forward from SAP point-of-view. SAP keeps investing in improving the WebClient UI for CRM in the coming releases.
2. SAP GUI: is only used for Adminstrative tasks, customizing and developments in CRM.
3. PCUI: is no longer supported since CRM 5.1

Tasks completion (User Interface displaying)

I have installed SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.2 Developer Edition.
I configured a process with user interface task.
I don't understand how actual owner (user) can view the User Interface and complete the task?
I've read a lot of information about Process Desk, Universal Worklist, but i didnt understand how to view the User Interface and submit the request.
Help me please. What should i install, where can i get it? Or maybe some helpful tools already included in CE 7.2 ?
P.S.
I cant find a way to set actual form owner through process. I can only set it in NW Administrator. Maybe you can give me an advice?

I will try it! Roles are really special in SAP products (logging in administrator user completely doesn't mean aquiring access to everything).
I'm going to try applying roles and update the question.
Is Netweaver Portal an application available at http://domain:port/startpage like Netweaver Administrator?
I can not find it then.
Is NWP really included in SAP NW CE 7.2 ? as said at Netweaver Composition Environment 7.2
Or can I get it somewhere?

How to design the user interface for Indesign cs6 plugin ?

Designing user interface using custom c++ library(SDK) for pluging is very tedious work .so when I search the net than i found that we can do it using Adobe Creative Suite Extension Builder but i dont know how to use it to develop user interface for plugin and to how to enable event handling in this UI .I read lots of document regarding this on net but they all created lots of confusion in my mind so can anyone help me to know steps which i must follow to develop plugin using this or whatever technology (action script,java script etc)

To give a brief of how to develop UI using JS you can use ScriptUI to develop your UI, it is a fast and OS independent approach to UI development. The UI created using JS is native in look. You can refer the following link for some help on ScriptUI

I don't have much info regarding development in CS SDK, but i can point you to one more direction of dev called as hybrid plugins wherein the UI is created in CS SDK, and appropriate methods are exposed from the C++ plugin(enhancing the script object model) to be called up by the CS code for too and fro communication between these two modules of code.

EIC SAP HCM - ( Activity ) Flexible User Interface

We are implemennting EIC with EHP4, There is a badi to add custom attributes for an activiy.
BADI : HREIC_ACT_CUSTOM_ATTR
Enhancement Spot :HREIC_CUSTOM_ACTIVITY_ATTR
as per my understanding we need to use the methods to edit and save any custom attribute we want to define for an activity. I am not able to understand how to show that attribute on the BSP page ActivityAttributesView.htm in BSP application HREIC_VP.
If anyone has experience of using thsi BADI. Please explaing me how to use this BADI to display attributes on the BSP page.

Dear Madhu,
In the IMG, you will have to look at the following path for the step-wise WDA configuration :
SAP e-Recruiting ->Technical Settings -> User Interfaces ->Settings for user interfaces with WDA.
There is also an overview note which will talk in-depth about the settings(Just after the above mentioned node in IMG) & options one need to consider for the WDA screens.
The basic thing to consider is if you want to separate your front-end from your back-end for WDA.In separated systems no sensitive data is located outside the company's firewall.
The main advantage in using the WDA screens is that it is based on the latest UI technology & the latest functionalities released by SAP are only supported in WDA screens & not BSP.
And WDA screens are available as of ECC 6.0 SP08 onwards.
As of Enhancement Package 3, only the internal & external candidate screens are available in WDA. The rest are in BSP.
In enhancement Package 4 which was just released, the Recruiter screens are also available in WDA.

can any one tell how can I create a new Custom User Interface in th oracle configurator developer with out using the standard UI Templates.

I think this is a bit old posting , I hope by this time you would have solved the problem.
Are you getting any errors when you press the Test Button?
If not please see whether the % of Layout Area allotted for Navigation Frame, Make sure that its not less than 30.
I don't see any other reasons why its not getting displayed.But If there is any error coming up in the run time configurator screen then would be able to help you more.

Disable Items in User Interface - Custom

I have been looking through the Control Identifier/Policy ID number from the spreadsheets below.

I have been unable to find the following item in order to remove it using group policy. Can someone tell me definitively if it does not exist and if it does what is the correct ID in order to disable it through User Configuration->Administrative
Templates->Microsoft Outlook 2010->Disable Items in User Interface->Custom.
Under Tasks, New Task, Assign Task there is a check box next to "Send me a status report when this task is complete" that I want to remove.

Sorry, based on my knowledge and test, there is no corresponding policy ID to disable this checkbox.
In addition, I searched around and found that this setting should correspond to the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\options\Tasks
AddToUpdList

Yes there are many User Exits available in SAP MDG. You can find these in SAP documentation for Master Data Governance.
For every configuration setting, you have BADIs mentioned in the documentation provided by SAP.

Iws6sp3 Configuring virtual server administrator�s user interface

Hi I am trying to configure my virtual server admininstrator interface. I followed the admin guide iws60 816-1379-01 May 2001, Chapter 13 "Using Virtual Servers" page 307. I followed all the steps however when I go to my browser, what should I type in for the URL?
Example given:
server_name:port/user-app/server_instance/virtual_server_ID
Q1. should mine will be:
http://127.0.0.1:8889/user-app/test.mytest.com/https-test.mytest.com
if I am trying out my default virtual server?
Q2. If I have created another virtual server called, esample.indoors.com will that by my vistual_server_id?
Q3. Why after adding the extra codes into my server.xml, I cannot access my default admin port which is 8888?

thanks for your reply! Pilot Extended Listener; Pilot Listener; WWW and JBOSS are running and I started Pilot Extended Listener before Jboss, but it doesn't work.
It tries to open http://localhost/pilot/scriptmain.pw?userinfo=/pilot/pipadmin/adminstart4.htm but there isn't a file "scriptmain.pw" in the pilot directory, only the file "scriptmain.pip". Maybe it is missing?!

Filter on product search in SAP CRM 2007 User Interface

Hi Experts,
I have the following requirement: we need to have the possibility to filter the Products in the Product search in the user interface based on the User's sales organization. Meaning that, if a user belongs to Sales Organization A, he will be able to see ONLY the products belonging to sales organization A.
Can anybody of you Experts, suggest a way to implement this via standard SAP and not via an enhancment if possible?

maybe have a look at BAdIs COM_PRODUCT_SEARCH and COM_PRODUCT_SE. Did not try them myself but they are for enhancing searches in product.

A profile for single screen entry has not been defined as a standard profile, neither has the current user been assigned a profile in the CORUPROF parameter in the user defaults.
System Response
For single screen entry, the system uses a firmly defined interface.
Procedure
If you do not want to use this firmly defined interface for entering data, you have the following options:
Define a profile for single screen entry as a standard profile.
Execute function
Assign a profile for single screen entry to the CORUPROF parameter in the user defaults for the current user.

Get overall Pass/Fail from custom User Interface

Hi Guys
I’m working on a custom user interface for operators and I would like to check and display the overall Pass/Fail result of the test at certain time intervals during execution.
I added a sequence called ‘GetOverallResult’ to the ‘FrontEndCallbacks.seq’ which checks the Pass/Fail status of the sequence and I’m calling it form a SubVI within the User Interface written in LabVIEW (Check status.vi).
The problem is that I’m getting the Pass/Fail status of the CallBack sequence not the test sequence I’m running.
Could anyone please help me in this?

Hi Attila,
Have you instead tried reading the value directly from the main sequence? Have a look at the attached VI; pass the sequence context in and the Get Property Value VI will read the sequence's state.
Is this suitable for what you had in mind?
