Configure Audit Database in BOBJ LCM

Hello,
Can anyone please provide me steps to configure Audit Database in BOBJ LCM?
When I goto SIA properties under configuration, I have configured Audit Database and i got message saying Audit Database completed. I have enabled AUDIT in Adaptive processing server too however when I goto properties of Audit Events I am getting message as "Auditing information is not being written to the auditing database. Please verify that the auditing data source is configured properly on the CMS".
Please guide me in solving this issue...
Thanks,
Sravanthi

Hello Stratos,
Yes, this is different oracle instance. I am tried with sysdba and i still dont see Audit tables in database. I appreciate, if you have any hints on checking the Audit tables.
How do I make sure Audit database has been created? and Could you please provide me the steps to configure Audit Database.
Thanks,
Sravanthi

  • BOBJ Audit Database disabled

    Dear All,
We installed BOBJ without audit database. The system detail as below:
    Product Version: BOE XI 3.1.
    Product Patches installed: SP3
    OS: AIX 5.3
    CMS DB: QO1 (DB2/AIX64 9.1.8)
    Audit DB: QA1 (DB2/AIX64 9.1.8)
    Authentication Type: SAP
Now we need to activate the audit database for our BOBJ systems.
We have successfully applied SAP note 1440647 for the same. But the audit database is still disabled in CMC.
We have tried some alternative and created new DB. But no success as yet.
Do you have any idea how this could be solved?
Appreciate your input / advice to resolve the issue.
If you need any clarification, kindly get back to me.
    With Regards,
    Uttam.

    Uttam,
You may want to try the [SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise/Edge, and SAP Crystal Reports Server Administration|BI Platform; forum for this one.

  • Repoint Audit database in BO XI 3.1 SP3 running on Solaris Server

    Hi,
We need to repoint to new Audit database in Solaris server which is running BO XI 3.1 SP3 .What steps we need to follow to do that? Do we require root privileges for that?
    Really appreciate your the help
    Regards,
    Anshuman

    Hi,
you can repoint the Audit DB but you cant move the content of the Audit DB with BO functions. If you want to move the content aswell you have to use DB functions for that. The process would look like:
    1. Create the new DB
    2. Create the connection to the new DB on the BOE Host
    3. Run cmsdbsetup.sh to point the Audit DB to the new DB
    4. Import the Audit Universe and configure the Universe connection to point to the new DB

  • Audit database. config auditing data source (DB2)

    Hello expert,
I want to enable audit database for Business Object and I has followed the admin guide but not work.
I install Business Object enterprise XI 3.1 on AIX 5.3 .
When I installed BO ,I choose 'Use an existing database'  and choose DB2. (The same database of SAP BW database)
And when the installation require the information of CMS and Audit database, I fill the same db alias as SAP BW database.
So now I has SAPBW , CMS and Audit  data in the same database.
After installation I saw the CMS table in "DB2<aliasName>"  schema.
But can not find the Audit table.
Does the audit table will create after installation?
Then I try to enable the audit database using cmsdbsetup.sh and I choose 'selectaudit' and fill in the information that it require.
Then it finish with no error.
"Select auditing data source was successful. Auditing Data Source setup finished."
But I still can not find any audit table in the database.
I run serverconfig.sh and I can't see the Enable Audit option when I choose 'modify a server'.
    Any idea?
    Thanks in advance.

    - My BW and BO are in the same server.
    - I already grant all the rights to the user who relate to audit database.
    - My BW and  BO are in the same database.
    - There is no audit table appear in the database.
    - No Fix pack installed.
I wonder why BO audit connection did not see my database.
(In case of DB2, I think the db2 alias name is the same name of the database name (as default).
So if my database name is BWD then the database alias name should be BWD, am I right?)
    Any idea?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Things captured in Configuration Audit

    Hi All,
I know its a silly question. But want to know what actions will be captured in Configuration Audit for Hyperion 11.1.2.1.
As per the update from security PDF:
Shared Services allows the auditing of provisioning and lifecycle management activities to track
changes to security objects and the artifacts that are exported or imported using Lifecycle
    Management functionality.
Auditing can be configured at three levels: global, application group, and application.
At the global level, you can audit security and artifacts handled by Shared Services. Application
group-level and application-level auditing allows you to audit security activities related to an
application group or application performed through Shared Services. Application group and
application security activities that are performed outside Shared Services; for example, assigning
calculation scripts in Essbase, cannot be audited.
We have gobal application overwrite enable. And seen it have captured all the changes we did on Shared Services like Auditing enable, LCM ,external directory configuration.
But want to know does it will track the new configurations like new essbase configuration. or any other activities.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi All,

  • Controlling Auditing database (Datawise)

    Hi,
I am using BOXI R3.0, we have configured the auditing.
Is there a way we can control amount of data write in Audit database?
We need to configure such that it should keep only last 3 months data and it should remove prior data from Audit database.
Thanks for the help in advance.
    Thanks,

This needs to be configured at database level, there is no such configuration at BO side.

  • "Compliance and Audit Database domain account is not valid" error

I am attempting to install MBAM 2.5 and on the configure reports page I am getting an error stating "Compliance and Audit Database domain account is not valid" when trying to specify the account. I am using the same account as the read only
access domain user specified on the Configure Databases page.
The account is not locked out and I reset the password but no dice. Any idea what is going on here? This is my second attempt at an install (removed all previous install pieces including the databases).

I had the exact same problem. I had to add the account to the local administrators group in order to proceed. The installation then informs you that the account is an administrator at the end.
I removed it from the admins group. Doesn't seem to have caused any problems. Everything is working OK.

  • Audit Database is not updating

    Hi
our Audit data base is not updating the data in the tables. I found the Audit files created every hour greater than 0kb in the following folder.
    Program Files (x86)\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\Auditing
But this data is not updating to our tables. We are on BOXI 3.1 SP1 and SQL 2008
    Please suggest

    Hi,
Try checking your CMS log under <Your installationPath>\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\Logging
While working with a SQL 2008 Audit database, I found the following :
"(.\AuditDatabaseSubsystem_impl.cpp:92). (false : DBConnectionHolder - (AuditDB) - Retryable error treated as lost connection error. Code 0, Msg: [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0]String data, length mismatch)."
I created a new ODBC datasource using sqlncli (version 9.0, i.e. 2005) instead of version 10.0 and  modified the datasource on the configuration tab of the SIA in the CCM
Worked for me, hope this helps.

  • Can we change Audit Database

Is there any way to reconfigure audit database in SAP 4.0 and I m using SQL Server 2008 as my database. i just want to change Audit database in same Sql Server because by mistake i choose different database in ODBC connection.

    Yes It is possible.
    Go to CMC>Auditing
    Under Configuration>ADS Database
Connection Name: Give a new connection name
    Type: Microsoft SQL Server
User Name: your SQL server user name and password.
Save the configuration and restart the SIA. It will show such a status as displayed below, if configuration is success.

  • Backingup and Restoring CMS and Auditing Database

We have a senario where out database server is completely down , we are unable to start services on SQL Server and it is not possible to restore them. Now we have our CMS and Auditing databases on that database. We have access to the file system from which we can take mdf and ldf files and restore the same to a new database. But CMS database cannot be restored in that way. How can i  restore the CMS to original state. We also have a backup for those databases i.e., .bak file. Please help

    Anil,
You should be able to copy the *.MDF & *.LDF set from one SQL Server to another and mount them on another working SQL server.  Once you have validated the SQL Server database is mounted properly simple update the ODBC on the BOBJ box to point to the new server.  Make sure the ODBC name stays the same.
You problem is more related to back and restore/recover of SQL Server.

  • ZCM 11 SP3 auditing database

    Hi there,
We am upgrading to ZCM 11 SP3. Our external database which is on MS SQL 2008 is moving to MS SQL 2012.
The dev server upgraded fine. We will create a new auditing database, but I need to know the following.
We have roughly 5000 devices, how big will this database be / grow to and can we turn off auditing once upgraded should
the database size be a problem of this feature not be needed. ?
    Thanks
    Mark

Ok from the audit management PDF, from what I can see, this will remain off until events are added / configured.

  • Problem with upgrade due to no connection to audit database

    Hello everyone!
Today after work I wanted to finally upgrade ZCM but run into some problems.
We have three servers: Two primary servers and one database-server (OEM Sybase SQL Anywhere). All three are running on SLES 11.
I want to upgrade our ZCM11.2.4MU1 to ZCM11.3a and then to 11.3.1.
I started by upgrading the Sybase database and running dbunload according to the documentation.
Then I continued with "sh install.sh -c" and chose "Audit Database". I selected the OEM Sybase SQL Anywhere with port 2639.
Admin, password and database-name were unique. But I made the mistake to set the servername to the same as the zenworks-database. *sigh*
    The installation completed.
The sybase-asa and sybase-audit-asa services couldn't run at the same time, therefore I rebooted the database-server and installed the audit database again with a unique database-name.
    Before the upgrade I could start dbisql and connect without problems to backup the database. Now I cannot connect anymore without using the additional parameter: links=tcpip{host=IPorDNSName,port=2638}
Connecting to the Audit Database via dbisql is not possible, with the following message:
    Code:
Could not connect to the database.
    Database server not found
Ensure that the name in the "Server name" field is spelled correctly, that the network options on the network tab are correct and that the database server has been started.
    [Sybase][ODBC Driver][SQL Anywhere]Database server not found

    Connection parameters:

    DBN=zenworks_audit_database2
    LINKS=ShMem
    ENC=NONE
    links=tcpip{host=<ip>,port=2639}
With that said, it is not possible to upgrade the first primary server because the setup routine is also not possible to connect to the Audit Server:
    Code:
We were unable to create a connection to the database. Please check your
    connection information.
Specify the existing ZENworks database and database authentication information
for an existing user with sufficient permissions.
The services sybase-asa and sybase-audit-asa are both running. I also restarted them a couple of times.
    zenworks_database.conf and zenworks_database_audit.conf look fine.
Do you have any idea what I missed?
Is the duplicate servername still somewhere existend and prevents the proper running?
Thank you very much in advance for pointing me in any direction!

    Oh boy... and no backup?
Not sure how to get the sybase back working again... my first choice in
such a case would be to make a contact to Novell, are you able to
    create an SR on this?
