Configure ECC 6.0 EHP4 in SAP Solution Manager SP15

Hi all,
I just upgrade a system from R/3 4.6c to SAP ECC 6.0 EHP4 NW 7.01. I want to configure the system in SAP Solution Manager just upgraded to SP15. But I don't understand how I must to configure the system and to assign a logical component. It seems not to be the same possibilities between System configuration and Logical configuration.
For system configuration I can choose product version EHP4 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 / NW7.01 and a full list of usage type
For logical component I only found product SAP ERP ENHANCE PACKAGE and a very short list of version and usage type (??)
Is someone know if it is normal or if it is necessary to patch solution manager ?
Is ther a documentation existing to configure ERP EHP4 systems ??
Thanks for your answer.
Regards
Gerard

I have not seen any document to configure EHP4 systems specfically.
I do not think, Solman SP15 should create any problem in that. But, since you are upgrading your landscape to EHP4, so why leave solman to SP15 instead of Ehp1 (SP18/19/20)...
You might want to have a glance over some notes

Configuration information is only available in SAP Solution Manager.
    I always read about this.
But how find it in the sol man system actually?
    Thanks very much.

    Hi
do you mean IMG configuration of ABAP scenarios?
when you create the project in solution manager you can see all its configuration information on the tabs(TA Solar_project_Admin)
for the ABAP scenarios, executable configuration files (IMGs) are available. SAP Solution Manager has the capability of executing the ABAP scenarios IMG files during the configuration and management of the system landscape(TA Solar02)

  • Configuration for Central Monitoring System in SAP Solution Manager.

    Hi Folks,
I am trying to setup Central System Monitoring in SAP Solution Manager, I am following the document which mention the step by step instructions.
There are couple of items on which  I am really confused.
In the documentation it says to activate Background Dispatching & Central System dispatching in 000 client of Solution Manager,
it also mentioned about creating CSMREG user, but it did not say in which client this activity needs to be performed, and there are lot many steps in which there is no mention about the client of solution manager in which we have to perform the configuration.
Can you guys please help me to configure properly?
One set document which I saw talks about the configuration using RZ21 and other document discuss about Configuration using System Monitoring Work Center, which one do we need to follow, are both methods are 2 different options doing the same thing, can you please clarify?
Also, is there any document which clearly explains the setup of  Central System Monitoring in SAP Solution manager using both approaches and also to test the monitoring?
    I have SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1.
    Thanks.

You can use RZ21 or System monitoring through work center. From Solution manager 7.1, you need to use work center only. So, I would suggest you to use work center only.

  • SAP Solution Manager 7.0 Update into EHP1

    Dear experts,
i'm planning to update a SAP Solution Manager SP15 into EHP1.
From the SAP Service Marketplace : service.sap.com/swdc, SAP Support Packages, Entry by Application Group, SAP Technology Components, SAP Solution Manager, SAP Solution Manager 7.0, SAP Stack: source stack (15), target stack (EHP1 SP21) THEN validate the download files from the Maintenance Optimizer. Finally download the files via Download Manager.
Before updating the SAP Solution Manager, i have to update the SPAM/SAINT Version + Kernel. I'm currently on Spam version 7.00/0026.
Just to be sure, my questions are :
Do i have to update my SPAM/SAINT version into 7.00/37 or into 7.01/37 before updating into EHP1?
Do i have to update the KERNEL version into 7.00 or into 7.01 before updating into EHP1?
    Thank you for your help.
    Regards,
    Pascal.

  • Install both SAP ECC 6.0 EHP 4 and Solution Manager in C drive

    Hi, SDN fellows.
I just want to confirm this.
I am trying to install SAP ECC 6.0 EHP 4 and Solution Manager in C drive. Are these OK, since they both will be installed under the C:\usr folder?
What precaution we need to install these two SAP components in the same drive (C)?
I am installing both components in MS Window Server 2008 R2 SP1 with MS SQL Server 2005 SP3.
    Thanks,
    KC

    Hi, Nick.
Sorry, I missed the "IDES". I am installing SAP ECC6.0 EHP4 IDES system for training purpose within the organization.
I am referring to the Installation Guide - SAP ERP 6.0 EHP Ready ABAP on Window MS SQL Server (Based on NW 7.0 incl EHP 1). All downloaded installation files are from: EHP4 for SAP ERP 6.0/NW7.01 --> IDES --> --> Widnows Server --> MS SQL Server.
The OS is installed in C drive.
I have allocated 250GB in C drive and 200GB in D drive from SAN.
For IDES system (I know it is similar to the standard ECC), is it also recommended to install in D drive (separate from the OS)?
In this case, should I install both Solution Manger and IDES in D drive?
Or what is the best combination where I should install these two systems?
    Thanks,
    KC

  • Sap Solution Manager 7.1 SP11 Basic Configuration

    Hi Experts,
I am in fresh installation for Sap Solution Manager 7.1 SP11. At Basis Configuartion Phase in step " Configure CA Introscope".
I have successfully installed, but it shows the following message: " Offline - The EM Connection cannot be established (caused by :com.sap.smd.introscope.em.IntroscopeException: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException_) "
Need suggestions how to proceed from here.
    thanks

    Raja,
    I assume you're using Linux/UNIX.
Here's the solution. It worked for me.
In /usr/sap/ccms/apmintroscope/config/users.xml, update the Guest password with this MD5 hash: c4582df82299e0581a9fc6bb34c53
In user management screen of "Configure CA Introscope", choose "Guest" as connection user with password "guest12" (without quotation marks)
If it's still not working, then delete the EM and re-install the introscope.
Go to expert mode -> Delete references -> Remove the line
    Delete folder /usr/sap/ccms/apmintroscope
Install introscope and management modules againdon't forget to re-set the permission for diagnostic agent user
Go back to solman_setup "Configure CA Introscope" and do import CA again
Save, you'll have a green status

  • Configuration Guide in SAP Solution Manager

    Hi all,
I'm reading documentation on a CRM scenario (Investigative Case Management : ICM). It says that the ICM configuration guide is assigned to the scenario 'Criminal Investigation Processing' (Public Security) in the SAP Solution Manager.

Alternatively, if I could access a SAP solution Manager system, how could I access this ICM configuration guide?

  • Configuration Guide Job Scheduling Management with SAP Solution Manager

    Dear Gurus
Could you please help me with the configuration guide of the Job Scheduling Management with SAP Solution Manager
    Best Regards

    Hello Luis,
the configuration activities can be accessed via the "Implementatiopn Guide" by calling transaction SPRO in your SAP Solution Manager system.
In SPRO navigate to -> SAP Solution Manager -> Scenario-Specific Settings -> Job Scheduling Management -> Standard Configuration and execute the following two activities.
    1. Activate Solution Manager Services
    2. Set Up Work Center for Job Scheduling Management
Make sure that your user has role SAP_SM_SCHEDULER_EXE (or_ADMIN) assigned.
Afterwards you should be able to access the Job Management Work Center and to create Job Documentation or to import Jobs from a Managed System into new Job Documentations.
The following SAP notes might be usefuly as well:

  • Business Process Modeling in SAP Solution Manager

    Hi.
Even ther an Solution Manager space, i wish to get some opinion related to Business process Modeling.
We are working in an upgrade project. R/3 4.6 C to ECC 6.0. The customer decide to use Solution manager to map their process, based on the transactions of the new version.
    Company Business Process:
    1.Based on ISO standards.
    2.By product line
3.The process are defined using an structure with 4 Levels: Macro Process, Business scenarios, Business Process and Steps/activities.
There are 2 possibilities to map the process into the Sap Solution Manager:
    1. Map the process by component.
    - Single Project
-It means to make a list of all sap components with their process without mattering the business process.
-Each product line can be a variant for an specific process. e.g: Sales by line
    2. Map the process as ISO Standards
    - Several projects : For each product line
Which cold be the better option in order to:
    - Easy configuration activities
    - Easy design of Unit and integration test
    - Easy activities of Process enhancement and optimization
    Theres another option?
    Thanks
    Alvaro Hernán Rojas R

Hi Alvaro Hernán Rojas R ,
The product line is the hierarchy of the finished goods.
It is pertinent that the finished goods has emerged due to some process(es) carried on the raw material.
Thus logically you should map in solution manager based on the process only.
The macro process while depicts the processes at the highest level. The Business scenarios, Business Process gives a good idea about how you should go about configuring. The Steps/activities helps you to map in to SAP thro' T/Codes.
From the point of view of all of the below three, namely,
    Easy configuration activities
Easy design of Unit and integration test
Easy activities of Process enhancement and optimization,
the option   Map the process as ISO Standards
    - Several projects : For each product line, will be most ideal.
It is the processes that drives the activities. The control activities like internal control etc are all process based.Given these, divorcing the business process from the configuration -as in -is certainly not a good practice.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Ramesh

  • Install SAP Solution Manager with DEV instance in the same server (MCOD)

Hello, i would like to install SAP Solutions Manager together with DEV ECC 6.0 in the same host, DEV is currently installed and working fine.
I followed note 551915 to convert MS-SQL 2005 to MCOD (change of schema from dbo to dev) and worked fine. But when i am installing the SolMan through the sapinst i don´t see the option MCOD
The only option i am confussed is
    MS SQL Server
Database reuse  o - New Database (DBSID = SAPSID)
                             o - Use Existing Database
                                    Database ID (DBSID)
Witch option should i choose to perform a MCOD installation? new db or use existing db (DEV)?
    Kind Regards

Hi Merchan, if you want to use MCOD you need to select the option: o - Use Existing Database
    Database ID (DBSID) .

    Hello Richard,
    (1) regarding network connections see document [Draft:Technical Support Network Connections for VAR Scenario|http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=00200797470000089947&_OBJECT=011000358700000880802009E] as overview and with a lot of detailed information.
    (2) yes, you have to setup once all your customer connections at the beginning but then only add/remove with customer contract changes
    (3) the workaround by sending by email can handled a anexception. EWA has to be done for productive systems like nowadays done by SAP. Additional EWA services could meas additional business case for a VAR - that's contract between VAR and customer.
    (4) whatever you think may be a business to sell - do it ! (and get a monetary bonus from your boss
    Kind regards
