Configured for LDAP authenication , still giving odbc error.

Hi,
I have gone through several posts in forum.I did not find solution for my issue.
Here is what we have done
We are trying OBIEE authentication and authorization by LDAP (Nortell Directory Server).Here is what i did
-Impersonator User created and Credentials are added to Oracle BI Presentation Services Credential Store
We have following config in instanceconfig.xml
<Auth>
<SSO enabled="true">
<ParamList>
<!--IMPERSONATE param is used to get the authenticated user's
username and is required -->
<Param name="IMPERSONATE"
source="httpHeader"
nameInSource="Z-USERID"/>
</ParamList>
<LogoffUrl>http://IP/analytics/saw.dll?Logoff</LogoffUrl>
</SSO>
</Auth>
-Configured LDAP Server under Security Manager/LDAP Servers( set cn attribute in advanced tab for user name attribute).Tested connection It is successful.We are not importing users.
- In Variable manager created an intilization block named it 'Authentication' and mapped three System variables(USER,GROUP,WEBGROUPS) with LDAP atrributes( for groups and webgroups we provided an attribute under user DN). Tested by supplying a username and password it pulled the attribute values.
We log into a WebApplication and the webapplication redirect the request to along with header Z-USERID.
https://XXX.COM/analytics/saw.dll
Here is how it is working:
If supply username and password in two URL parameters nquser and nqpassword it works,i get Dasboard page and other links according to the configured groups in LDAP.
if i do not supply URL parameters nquser and nqpassword, i get "not logged in page."
the initblock that deals with authentication and autherization is working fine.
Single sign on is not working, it is reading the httpheader that we supply.I am not sure why it expecting password.
ssw Logs show following error
Odbc driver returned an error (SQLDriverConnectW).
State: 08004. Code: 10018. NQODBC SQL_STATE: 08004 nQSError: 10018 Access for the requested connection is refused.
nQSError: 43001 Authentication failed for loggedinIN_USERID in repository Star: invalid user/password. (08004)
I tried some of the suggestion on this site like change passwords to 8 characters of impersonator passphrase etc with no success.
It looks like it is trying databse authentication even though we configured initblock with LDAP settings.
Please help!.

Hi
have you created an impersonate user in the Repository ??
Yes,added him to groups Administrator and XMLP_ADMIN
Can you open the url through firefox and look at the cookies ..,
Yes, I opened, When i get not logged in page, when i check cookies ,
i see following cookies
SAWISAPI
nquireID
sawP  - Blank
sawU - loggedinUSERID
another two session based cookies.
open the saw.log in textpad and launch your sso link in Firefox
Search for the nquserID and check the values ...it will be encrypted but should be there !!
I searched both saw and server logs, i did not find "nquserID" String.ofcourse i see logged user's login ID in saw logs.
Also do you have load Balanced web servers .. if yes can you ask your web admin to enable sticky session ??
I checked with IChain admin, if the webapp is load balanced they would add sticky bit.But currently app is not in load balanced environment.
Thanks Sid,  Please help me resolve this,
Thanks

  • BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA for updating Profit center giving an error message.

    Hi All,
           I have a requirement to update Profit Center in storage view of Material Master. So for updating Profit Center I used ‘BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA’. In this BAPI we will pass Material number, Plant and New Profit center. When I used this it is successfully updating the MM view and in the return message it’s showing no authorization for this transaction. For my ID I have authorization for General Plant Data / Storage, Costing and Plant/Storage Location Stock views in Material Master Change (MM02).
    I want to know why it is giving error message. Do I need to have authorization for all views in MM02 if I want to update the profit center through this BAPI?
    Pointers to any other BAPI which can be used for updating Profit center in storage view in such a way that I need to have authorization for any specific view in MM02 will be helpful.

    Hi Shyam,
         Check out the Auth object for which it is saying no authorization or
    Do the changing of Profit center using the transaction and check whether it is asking for Authorization object or not.
    Reward Points if it is helpful.

  • Configuration for LDAP IP Address and Port for Exchange 2010

    Let's say Exchange 2010 is installed on a computer that is joined to a domain. However, I would like to redirect LDAP authentication to another IP address and another port like how sharepoint implement it below
    http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/33540/ldap-authentication-connection-string
    Is it possible to do the equivalent for Exchange 2010?
    Note: I would like to do this without installing any Edge Transport server or Microsoft Forefront TMG

    The question I would need to ask is "Why would you need to do this?"  I ask because Exchange requires an Active Directory account for authentication.  That account may have permissions from some other directory (as in a linked mailbox),
    but the account is used to find it.  For SharePoint, you can authenticate to other directories directly.

  • Error while configuring external LDAP user store with weblogic

    Hi,
    I have weblogic 10.3 installed and I can access weblogic admin console using weblogic (admin) user. I want to use external ldap user store to access admin console with users present in external ldap.
    To do this, I have configured authentication provider and provided all the required details to connect to ldap.
    For example:
    Base DN: cn=admin,cn=Administrators,cn=dscc (user with which we will connect to LDAP)
    User DN: ou=People,dc=test,dc=com
    Group DN: ou=Groups,dc=test,dc=com
    This authentication provider is set to SUFFICIENT mode. I have deleted the default authentication provider.
    In the boot.properties file I have given the user name and password of the user with which LDAP instance was created something like below.
    password=xxxxxxx
    username=admin
    Now while starting the admin weblogic server, I am getting the below error:

    Can anyone please suggest how to resolve this problem? If, anyone can suggest the exact steps to configure external ldap store to manage admin console via ldap users.
    Regards,
    Neeraj Tati.

    Hi,
    Please refer the below content that I found for Oracle 11g in the docs.
    "If an LDAP Authentication provider is the only configured Authentication provider for a security realm, you must have the Admin role to boot WebLogic Server and use a user or group in the LDAP directory. Do one of the following in the LDAP directory:
    By default in WebLogic Server, the Admin role includes the Administrators group. Create an Administrators group in the LDAP directory, if one does not already exist. Make sure the LDAP user who will boot WebLogic Server is included in the group.
    The Active Directory LDAP directory has a default group called Administrators. Add the user who will be booting WebLogic Server to the Administrators group and define Group Base Distinguished Name (DN) so that the Administrators group is found.
    If you do not want to create an Administrators group in the LDAP directory (for example, because the LDAP directory uses the Administrators group for a different purpose), create a new group (or use an existing group) in the LDAP directory and include the user from which you want to boot WebLogic Server in that group. In the WebLogic Administration Console, assign that group the Admin role."
    Now in my LDAP directory, setup is in such a way that Administrators is a group created under following heirarchy " cn=Administrators,ou=Groups,dc=test,dc=com" and there is one user added in this Administrators group.
    The problem that I am having is when I modify the Admin role in which Administrators group should be added what exaclty I should give in Admin role. Whether I should give only Administrators or full DN: cn=Administrators,ou=Groups,dc=test,dc=com ???
    When i give full DN, it takes every attribute as different, i mean cn=Administrators as different and ou=Groups as different and shows a message that cn=Administrators does not exist.
    Here not sure what to do.
    Also if external ldap authentication provider is the only provider then I need to give the user information in boot.properties file also for weblogic to boot properly. Now, what should I give there in user? still complete DN ??
    Regards,
    Neeraj Tati.

  • SCOM 2012 R2 Error The connector the module is configured for no longer exists

    Hi All,
    The Microsoft Operations Manager Connector Framework Alert Forwarding module failed to mark an alert for forwarding because the connector the module is configured for no longer exists.
    Connector Id: 57a14deb-a74b-520e-ac32-ba8d340d112d

    Hi Mark,
    You can try the following steps,
    This is because we have deleted a connector that still had a live subscription associated with it.  We need to go and delete that subscription to clean this up.  The problem is – the connector is gone, so the subscription is no longer available
    in the UI.
    Therefore – we will have to delete it manually.  This subscription (as all subscriptions) is kept in the “Notifications Internal Library” MP.  You need to export that MP to XML.  FIRST MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF THIS FILE IN CASE YOU MESS UP, then
    open it for editing in Notepad, or your XML editor of choice.
    All subscriptions in this MP are kept in the <Monitoring> <Rules> section.  To identify which connector subscription RULE is causing the problem – you can search for the connector ID, from the event 11502 above.  In my example – my connector
    ID from this event is:  b7a64deb-f7ff-440e-bc30-d08d340dfe8d.
    So – I search the XML for that string – and find b7a64deb-f7ff-440e-bc30-d08d340dfe8d in the <WriteActions> section of a specific <Rule>:
    <WriteActions>
      <WriteAction ID="WA" TypeID="SystemCenter!Microsoft.SystemCenter.ConnectorFrameworkAlertWriteAction">
        <ConnectorId>{b7a64deb-f7ff-440e-bc30-d08d340dfe8d}</ConnectorId>
      </WriteAction>
    </WriteActions>
    Good – I have identified the problem.  Now – I need to do two things:
    Find the rule ID – to identify the display string associated with it… then delete that display string.
    Delete the orphaned subscription rule.
    So – I move up in the XML section of this rule – and I find my Rule ID.  (here is mine:)
    <Rule ID="ProductConnectorSubscription2850f8e3_afe7_4c36_84d2_ee258bd086eb"
    I then search for the part above which I bolded in blue (yours will be different – search for your string)
    What this finds – is the display string section of the XML – which maps this GUID ID to the common name that you gave the subscription.  (here is mine:)
    <DisplayString ElementID="ProductConnectorSubscription2850f8e3_afe7_4c36_84d2_ee258bd086eb">
      <Name>Process All New Alerts</Name>
    </DisplayString>
    So – I need to DELETE this section from the XML…. just the section above, from my very specific <DisplayString ElementID="ProductConnectorSubscription2850f8e3<GUID> line, to the very next </DisplayString>.
    Next – I need to delete the entire <rule> which contains the subscription we want to remove.  Mine will be from:
    <Rule ID="ProductConnectorSubscription<GUID> line to the very next </Rule>
    When you are happy – you can import this XML MP back into the management group.  It should import with no errors.  If you get an error – you made a mistake when editing the XML.  You can look on the RMS event log for the specific problem – there
    will be a critical event there if it fails to import.

  • Error in the configuration for sap logon tickets

    Hi Forum,
    I use Tcode crmd_order_bp to see the BP cockpit and the error message displays as
    <b>Error in the configuration for SAP logon tickets</b>
    But if I click "Yes", system displays cockpit.
    How can I avoid this error.

    You will still need to configure SSO (either by logon ticket or username/password). The data source access is done using the username/password configured in the UM Config dialog box.
    I can see where you're coming from with your thinking, however logon-ticket-based SSO is probably the best approach.

  • Configure SAP LDAP mapping for MS-ASD

    Hello,
    I 'm configuring an LDAP connector from my MS-AD to my SAP-4.7 ABAP system so the user account from the MS environment gets synchronized with my SAP system.
    I have configured the connection and created some mapping already but I have still some questions about the settings:
    1. With the report I'm able to synchronize an MS_AD account with my SAP environment. For the first test I only add one account name so all other existing accounts are not changed. When the MS-AD account not exists on SAP the account is created like the mapping. I have also the option in this report to delete the user account from the SAP system when the account doesn't exist any more in the MD-AD. How could I prevent that some special user accounts on the SAP system are note deleted even when they are not available in the MS-AD?
    2. With the mapping function MAP_SPLIT_CHAR  a variable by a certain character into two ore more SAP fields like telephone number and telephone extension. Is it possible to split the content of a variable by a fixed amount of characters?
    For example the user location is written like ABC.XZZ
    ABC is the building number and X is the floor number and ZZ is the chamber.
    3. With the mapping function MAP_conc_CHAR I'm able to combine to MS-AD fields into one SAP filed. Is it possible to combine a constant value with a field from MS-AD?
    4. I'm able to insert multiple parameters or user roles by using the function MAP_CONSTANT. I add one attribute and the constant values as parameters. For a couple of parameters I have to insert a MS-AD field. How could I combine inserting constant parameters with some MS-AD fileds
    Example
    The Parameters CAC and BUK are fixed to the company code. But the parameter PER must be set to the employee number. This value I get from the MS-AD .
    5. For the Employee mapping to SAP-HR I have also to configure the Stucture and fields. Does any one have an overview of structure names and field names from the employee structure? It couldn't be asked with the F4 option which could be user with the user mapping.
    Manny thanks in advanced for the answers.
    Kind regards,
    Richard Meijn

    Hi,
    1.
    create a user group for the special users and another user group for "real" users. Restrict the synchronization report to the second user group.
    2.
    You can write your own mapping functions. You will need a developer key in your system and some ABAP knowledge. Create your functions with SE80 or SE37. It is easy to create a function
    3.
    The same: create your own mapping function.
    4.
    It might be possible to fill the different parameters from different AD values depending on the parameter name. Use the ABAP statement "CASE". But there is no such function. You have to write it by yourself.
    But think about what you really want to do. Do you want to invent an Identity Management? There are already a lot of tools. The SAP answer "SAP Netweaver Identity Management" was already mentioned.

    Rainer

    Reason: Fatal initialization exception
    The startup appears to have trouble with the RDBMS security realm. I tried a) leaving
    the settings "as-is", configured for Cloudscape, or b) modified to point to my instance
    of Oracle (are their additional things I need to load in Oracle to support it using
    the RDBMS realm). Is there a way I can disable the security realm to at least get
    the server up-and-running (via the web.xml). I've installed and reinstalled many
    times, trying various combinations of things.
    Any help would be hugely appreciated!

    I finally found this bug in the release notes, i'm surprised one of the bea guys couldn't

    I found this as well. However, i still am not able to run the portal afterconfiguring

    You probably followed the instructions too closely. I had the same
    problem,
    due to
    something that's not quite a "bug" in the installation instructions.Look
    back at
    the section "Update Settings for the RDBMS Security Realm" in thedeployment
    guide
    (http://edocs.bea.com/wlp/docs40/deploygd/oraclnew.htm#1039294).
    In the table in step 2, they show the URL on top, and the Driverclassname
    underneath
    it. HOWEVER... on the actual data screen, the Driver is on top and the
    URL is underneath
    it. If you're not being very very careful, it's easy to swap thesetwo
    values
    and put the URL in the Driver input box and the Driver in the URL input
    box. Make
    sure you haven't accidentally done this; if you have, you can stillchange
    this in
    the config.xml file (do a text search for an element RDBMSRealm withan
    "name" attribute
    of "wlcsRealm").
    Verify that it looks like this:
    <RDBMSRealm DatabaseDriver="weblogic.jdbc.oci.Driver"
    DatabaseURL="jdbc:weblogic:oracle"
    Name="wlcsRealm"
    and not this:
    <RDBMSRealm DatabaseDriver="jdbc:weblogic:oracle"
    DatabaseURL="weblogic.jdbc.oci.Driver"
    Name="wlcsRealm"
    Very subtle gotcha...

    I think my problem has been that in Sytem Preferences>Mouse, my "Double-Click Speed" was set to the SLOWEST setting. After some experimentation, I now have the that setting two notches from the "Fast" end of the scale. In case it's important, the "Primary mouse button" in my Preferences is set to "Left".
    This not only solves the text selection issues described, but also seems to eliminate the strange "resolving alias to" problem.
    [For the curious, I have a Logitech Performance MX wireless mouse which can be configured with "Logitech Control Center". But the LCC software doesn't control double-click speed; this setting can only be made in the Mouse System Preference pane.]

    Sorry i didnt get couple of things that u explained

    could u explain more eloberately?JBoss comes with MyFaces as it's JSF implementation. If you wish to use JSF 1.2, you need to uninstall MyFaces and install Sun's RI of JSF (or another one if you prefer). It is not hard to do, see the JBoss documentation:
