User,
Probably best to ask in the 11g forum...
At any rate, in TP4, you need to download the documentation on how to do this from Metalink.

  • How to configure my oracle jdeveloper 11g preview 4 with oracle 8i database

    hi every one
my requrirement is to configure my oracle jdeveloper 11g preview 4 with oracle 8i database with (thin driver)
    thanks in advance

    Prapan,
JDev 11g TP4 comes with 11g JDBC drivers, which do not support connecting to any database v 9.0.1 or earlier.
So, back to you... depends upon what you want to do. If you want to write your own code to connect to a database using 11g, get ahold of some JDBC drivers that support 8i and have away. If you're talking about getting the database development stuff (e.g. the embedded SQLDeveloper) to work, you're probably out of luck.
So, please define "configure my oracle jdeveloper 11g preview 4 with oracle 8i database"

  • How to create a proxy of BPEL process(to initiate it) in Jdeveloper 11G

    Hi All,
I am badly stuck in creating proxy of BPEL process developed in Jdeveloper 10G. It was working fine in 10G. But in 11G I am not able to do it. Even creating a
JAX-RPC mapping file is disabled in 11G. So could any one help me out. Even I want to know is there any other process to initiate a BPEL process from 11G. It's very URGENT
    so please help me out.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
JDeveloper 11g had four technology preview releases (they came with OC4J instead of WebLogic) before production, TP4 is the forth, and SOA components came with it (not out-of-the-box, but had to be installed) including BPEL engine.
Start from here , there is a metalink note no. 565899.1 where you can find the instructions for installing SOA on JDeveloper 11g TP4.
    So, you need to:
    - download and install [JDeveloper 11g TP4|http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/jdev/htdocs/soft11tp.html]
    - install SOA on it (instructions on metalink)
I used JDeveloper 11g R1 for my application because TP4 had some bugs when working with asynchronous web services.
Ask away if you have any problems.

  • Facing issue in configuring soa server in local jdev 11G

    Hi All,
I am facing an issue in configuring local soa server in jdev 11G. I was trying to do the practice excercises in the local jdev and while configuring soa server followed following steps :-
    1. Configure SOA to install the Integrated OC4J Server
    a. In JDeveloper, select Tools -> Preferences, Run, and then select Integrated OC4J Server.
    b. Next, select Tools -> Configure SOA…
    c. Complete the dialog for your configuration specifying the database location and the SOA schema user name and password
    d. Use the Test button to test the database connection and then click on Ok
This will take 8-10 minutes to run and when finished will end with "Build Successful."
In the end I am getting following log file
[echo] ==Starting standalone oc4j. Check server log D:\FMW\JdevInstance\system11.1.1.0.22.47.96\o.j2ee\embedded-oc4j\log\startsoa.log.

    Hi Heidi,
Thanks a lot for your response. The solution you provided worked for me. I am able to configure SOA now and the SOAConsole is coming up properly.
One issue I am facing while deploying my application . The application is getting deployed properly but it does not show up in the console if I look at Default server console I can see this error message :-
    Incorrect db schema version.
The database schema version "11.1.6" from the database does not match the version "11.1.7" expected by the server.
The database schema for your SOA installation was not properly installed or your installation is using a database schema installed for a prior release.
The database schema currently in place has probably been configured for a previous release; please re-install the database schema and try to start the server again.
Though I have configured the database locally just like mentioned in the training material. Please let me know if you have any thoughts on this.

  • JDeveloper 11G - Weblogic 10.3 - SOA Deployment problem

I have jDeveloper 11g configured with SOA Suite, Weblogic 10.3 server, I have created new domain in Weblogic server integrated with jDeveoper. But the weblogic server only supports jee application deployment. I unable to find SOA server deployment option.Any additional config required in Weblogic server? Thanks

    HI ,
To find SOA Server while deploying your composite u need to install the following :
    1. RCU
    2. WLS
    3. SOA SUITE
    4. JDEVELOPER
    5. Create Domain and select SOA SUITE for developeers and EM also .
U can see the SOA SERVERS in EM whether they are there or not , Basically u need to have SOA -INFRA up for and SOA Composite deplyoment

  • JCA DBAdapter configuration using JDeveloper 11g

    hello,
I cannot create correct wsdl files for the jca WSDL-based business service :-(
I try to use JCA dbAdapter in OSB 10.3.1
    following guideliness from
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/jcatransport/transport.html
    and
OSB DBAdapter Demo (but it refers to JDev 10gR3 :-( which allows creation of DBAdapter component)
in Jdev 11g, I can create such components only inside SOA project
and no bindings are generated inside the wsdl (they are in composite.xml)
is there a way to automatically use the wizard to create the correct wsdl (or I have to write it on my own)
    thanx in advance
    regards
    yannis
Edited by: ydes on May 11, 2010 1:01 PM

    Hi Yannis,
You can use the DB Adapter created with JDeveloper 11g on OSB 11g.
The only difference from OSB/JDev 10g is that you will import a JCA file (along with WSDL and its dependencies) from JDev 11g into OSB 11g.
Then you just need to right click on the JCA file and select 'Oracle Service Bus / Generate Service' and OEPE will automatically create the business service and the respective wsdl.
    Hope it helps.

    Rodrigo

  • Soa 11g and jdeveloper 11g user defined extension function

I have developed a set of extension functions,
in design time for the previous version, I can put the deployment file (jar file) that contains the extension functions in the %JDEV_HOME%\jdev\lib\ext directory and jdeveloper recognizes the set of extension functions if previously i have defined an xml descriptor with every one of the functions i need to include in the panel.
Now, with the jdeveloper 11g i have tried the same, and jdev recognizes the functions, but when I am going to test one transformation that includes the extension function, the parser is not founding the jar file; the error (in spanish) is:

+ at design time, where can I put the jars with extension functions to make one transformation function used in a mediator component can works fine?
+ at runtime, where can I put those libraries? (in the previous version, we can put this libraries in the %APP_SERVER%\j2ee\home\applib, or create one shared library and reference it in the oracle.bpel.common shared library declaration of the server.xml configuration file).

May i know what i might hv missed ???
    Thanks & Regards,
    ATC

On the information page for SOA Tech Preview 4, there is a step called, Enable. You need to go to metalink to read the instructions there on how to enable SOA for TP4. Then the Configure SOA command will show up in the Tools menu.
here is the information page: [http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/bpel/techpreview/index.html]

  • Configuring JDeveloper 11g

    Hi,
    I have installed JDeveloper 11g (11.1.2.1.0).
Currently I am trying to configure it, so that I can create and run the ADF application.
I think when we install JDeveloper 11g (11.1.2.1.0), a database also gets installed along with the IDE, however I am not sure on this.
When I am trying to create a connection by giving the following info, I get the standard connection error.
Test failed: IO Error: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection
    User Name : hr
    Password : hr
    Hostname : localhost
    Port : 1521
    SID :XE
Now I am not quite sure, how to verify, if the data base is installed and is currently UP and RUNNING.
How can i resolve this connection problem.
    Thanks
    Saurabh

Yes, I am able to connect thru JDeveloper. This is fine.
But when I open the command promp and give the command tnsping XE, then it does not identify the database.
    C:\Users\ion>tnsping XE
TNS Ping Utility for 32-bit Windows: Version 11.1.0.7.0 - Production on 22-OCT-2

    Used parameter files:
    C:\product\11.1.0\db_1\network\admin\sqlnet.ora
    TNS-03505: Failed to resolve name
Please tell me what is missing.
    C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\network\ADMIN
    ======================================
Here I have my database installed and the TNS file here, reads as you have mentioned in above post.
But if you look at the tnsping XE command output, somehow, it is pointing to some other location in my C:
I am not sure, if there is any environment variable or something needs to be set to correct this.
    Thanks

  • Jdeveloper 11g Required Hardware Configuration

    Hi,
Pls anyone tell me required H/w configuration for jdeveloper 11g ,currently i am having 1.5 GB but my project take so much time to compile and give low Memory warning.
    Thanx.

    Hi,
According to the docs (link below), recommended minimum RAM is 2GB. I am running it on two machines -- one is 1.5GB ram and the other 2GB ram. It runs ok on both machines but as the application grows, it eats up more resources. Generally, the more RAM the better. There are some who run it with 4GB of ram.
Try updating your Java SDK as well. Some reported improvements after doing so.

I checked the log file and it says it is encountered an authentication error. I'm wondering which user name and password it is referring and where shall I set the correct values. During the app server connection, I have entered the proper value for oc4jadmin/password.

    Hi Heidi,
I tried once again to install a fresh instance of Oracle soa suite 10.1.3.0 and upgraded it to 10.1.3.4 successfully. I did all the JDeveloper 11g installation and configure SOA process all successfully. I can create a connection to OC4J using 12401 RMI port successfully but none of my applications are deployed to server.
This message is repeatedly displaying in messages tab:
Exception returned by remote server: com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIConnectionException: Disconnected: oracle.oc4j.admin.management.shared.SharedModuleType. local class incompatible during deploy ...
The default OC4J RMI port is 23791 but in my installation it is set to 12401 when I checked the Runtime Port option of Oracle Application Server and the connection is fine with this port but applications can not be deployed with this configuration.
I can deploy applications on separate standalone OC4J instance successfully but not able to do it with my SOA application server.
    Any comments will be appreciated.
    Thanks again
    Esfand
