Configuring the Files Panel

Is there any way to configure or set the Files Panel to
include tabs for Assets and Snippets on Dreamweaver 8 on a Mac, so
it looks exactly the same as it does in the Dreamweaver 8 for PC
version? I am able to dock the panels on top of one another, but
I'm not seeing how to add/modify tabs INSIDE the panels themselves.
Thanks,

It totally makes perfect sense to gather the files in a project folder. They do that partially for this project and it is taught in my class for other projects video web etc.
With this project I have a large shared storage area of sound files that are on my own server directly connected to the switch my classroom is on and off of the school server. So I have in the past hesistated to have them move the files off of my dedicated server and place them into their shared server storage with the entire school for space concerns. They could save them local but that opens a can of worms as well.
So the practice in the past was if the files were specfic to your project then they are stored on their own personal networked storage share and then they link to the audio files on my shared storage. I can easily change this and have them move all the files to their network storage share. This will increase the storage they are using on the school network which makes the IT staff but it is not a huge amount anyway at least for audio. I was doing it this way because of past practice when storage was alot more costly than it is now.
I remember one time one of the IT staff told me with a straight angry face that "DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU HAD A 1 GIG MOVIE FILE ON YOUR SERVER!" It was hard for me not to laugh. yeah I know there is a 1 gig movie file on my own personally managed server. whoohoo.
So I will have them make a copy of the files that we have in storage and store them in their project folder. This still won't allow them to show up if they are not used in the session though right?
thanks

  • Configuring the file server in KM and access, edit the documents from it

    Hi friends,
My requirement is to configure the file server where u will have all the structured and unstructured data stored here. So users can share the documents and create, edit ,save the documents from the file server itself.
In KM what kind of file servers are there apart from the one it supports by default.
Can anybody pls provide the configuration steps regarding how to configure the file server i KM.
To configure the file server is webDAV protocol required?
Points would be assigned for the helpful answer.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Sireesha.

    Dear Sireesha,
Well KM supports mostly all the File server however we have some restrictions with Novell FS and Sharepoint Server from Microsoft. Like versions and other meta data have some issues.
Alsothough to configure a File Server you need to first create a FS repository Manager. Details can be found in the help guide:
    <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e3/92322ab24e11d5993800508b6b8b11/frameset.htm">FS Repository Manager</a>
Yes WebDAV protocol is required here.
You can create WebDav RM as well.

  • Files names written in Arabic didn't show correctly in the "Files panel" in Audition CS6

In Adobe Audition CS6 and Unlike the previous version(s) of Adobe Audition the Arabic file name didnt show from right to left in the files panel and in the file name tab as shown
please note that I did select (English with arabic Support) when I installed Audition.
It must be read from left to right. while the correct reading of it is right to left. And the example above must be read "ملف للتجربة"
    # I think this problem is common with non arabic support in all CS6 software like after effect for example.

Audition does not support right-to-left language display at this time, though I'll submit a feature request.  I doubt it will be supported for filenames until such time as the application itself is localized for Arabic and other right-to-left languages.

  • Is it possible to preview images in the files panel?

sorry in advance for what probably is a dumb question with a
    simple solution.
i realize i can preview images in the assets panel-- but is
it possible to preview image files while in the files panel
    instead?
i have a lot of images organized within folders in the files
panel-- so it's easier there to locate and visulalize an image--
than scrolling down the long list in the assets panel.
    thanks.

    Hello,
I don't believe there is a way to view images in the files
    panel.
However, there's a quick way to see them if you're using
    Windows.
Select your image folder in the Files Panel.
    Right click and choose "Explore".
It opens a window where you can see all the images in that
    folder.
It's much faster than scrolling through the assets, clicking
    the file names
and reading the paths to know where they are.
This is very handy whether you have image folders in
    different directories
(for organization and cleaner img src paths in the pages
    within the
directory) or if you just dump them all in a folder in the
    root.
On my wishlist: Hover over the image name in the files panel
    and a small
box, like a tool tip, displays the image.
    Maybe someday.
    Take care,

  • No toolbar or option to "put files" in the File panel

I am running Dreamweaver CS3 on an 8 core MacPro with 16 gigs of ram and Snow Leopard 6.2.
When I installed CS3 and opened Dreamweaver, I noticed the file panel does not have a tool bar.
Also when I Control-click the file to put on the web, there is no option to "put" files.  I did set up my web site
and Dreamweaver does in fact connect to it when tested, but I can no longer upload files.
    Appreciate any suggestions.

Sure, getting used to a new layout (actually, rebuilding the workspace you liked!) takes a little poking around.
Also look under "Window"...you will find panels galore there.
Sorry, but I don't remember CS3's workspace. If you don't find these options, look under Preferences as there could be something there.
And up under the Workspace icon. Feel free to use the Help Button...at least in CS4, it will take you to pages on the Adobe site.

  • How can I reorder the columns in the Files panel in Dreamweaver CC 2014.1?

I just upgraded to Dreamweaver CC 2014.1, and I want to change the order of the columns in the Files panel. But I can't figure out how to do this. Can anyone help?
    Thanks,
    Kim

<I want to change the order of the columns in the Files panel>
You can change the sorting order by file name (ascending or descending), size, type, or date modified by clicking those labels on top of Files Panel.

  • Problem regarding Configuring the File Adapter

    Hi,
I am making a Flat File to XML File Scenario. I have made all the Necessary developments and the Routings in the Integration Repository and the Integration Directory. The Sender Communication Channel Uses the Message Protocol "File Content Conversion". All the required steps have been done. We have installed the System and also the Basis Team has done the Post Installation Activities.
<b> The Problem is that the "File is not getting picked up". When checking the RWB and henceforth the Adapter Monitoring we see that the File Adapter is disabled and the XI and the BC adapters are green. Previously we were on SP9 and now we are on SP14. The SAP Basis is at 640 and SP9 and the SAP ABAB is on 640 and SP9.</b>
We are also unavailable to see the File Communication Channels that we have created. When the Tcode "sxi_cache is run it is giving an error that Cache not refreshed andon refreshing various times too the Cache is not Refreshed.
Please Suggest us what we should do. Eagerly waiting for a reply and Thanking in Anticipation. Do we need to make some for configurations for that.
    Warm Regards
    Chakra and Somnath

    Hi Somnath,
If the sender file adapter is up and running and even after that if you find some problem, the first thing you need to do is check if your file has been picked. The easiest way to check the same is to set the mode to DELETE, that is the file gets deleted as soon as it is picked. If your file has not been picked then the reasons for the same could be the following.
    - The path that you specified while configuring the sender communication channel would have been wrong.
    - While specifying the file name take care as it is case sensitive.
    - If you require content conversion then make sure that the parameters entered at the time of configuration are all correct.
Please go thru the following links to get a very clear picture of your requirement.

Also make sure that your content conversion is in sequence wrt Datat Type Sturcture.
Go through these blogs below for more detail on the same:

yes you can use /SAPDMC/SAP_LSMW_IMPORT_TEXTS via LSMW
In the SAP system, there is no uniform rule for the structure of the actual text key Textname. However, in order to be able to maintain the structures and fields, you have to know what the structure of text name as well as the values for text object and text ID are.
    Procedure
           1.      Display a text of the required text type.
           2.      Branch to the editor.
           3.      Choose Goto > Header.
The Text header dialog box appears.
    Result
In the Text header dialog box, you gather the required information.

  • Dreamweaver on start up has defined my desktop as a root folder in the files panel.

Dont know if anyone else has this same issue.  I noticed recently that when I start Dreamweaver my Desktop along with all my drives is already defined in my files panel. I am running Windows Vista Home Premuim, and Dreamweaver CS3. Here is a screenshot.
I researched this to find no info except that the service pack 2 maybe the issue. Can anyone help with this?

Have you defined any sites at all?
The screenshot looks like a default installation of DW before any sites have been defined.
Click on Manage Sites (text link in Files Panel), define a site and DW will show you the site files.
