Confuse on word Integrate

Hello,
I am learning Role of XML in Java Platform.I confuse on word integrate.Consider a scenario where a healthcare agency needs a Web application to Integrate the data stored in heterogeneous databases at different locations.Is this mean of using different databases like mssql,mysql,oracle,etc. in a single application and we can access all data of different databases in a single application?
Please put your thoughts.
Thanks

  • Confused about word processing on macs - do i need to buy extra software?

    Hi, am about to buy a new macbook (first mac- am switching over) but am very confused about the word processing facilities which come with. do i need to buy microsoft office for mac to use word etc or can i use something similar which comes with OS X (is it text edit?)? is this compatible with a word environment at work? thanks!
    macbook   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    I've personally always hated Microsoft Word, but have it because that's the "standard," and at the time I bought my MacBook, the Intel Mac version of NeoOffice (which is free) wasn't out yet. NeoOffice is now out for Intel-based Macs, and it seems to be every bit as powerful as Microsoft Office (and quite compatible).
    However, for most things I do, I've found I actually like Pages the best. It's very easy to use, though if you do any special things in word processing it might not meet all your needs. It will open Word documents, and if you have to send something as a Word document, you can export it in Word format.
    I would recommend that you try out the Pages trial that came with your Mac, and download NeoOffice for free. Try them both - go with what you like and what works best for you. I use Pages the most, NeoOffice for things Pages won't do, and Word if I'm forced to. (And I always have my old WordPerfect that I've used for years that I can run in Windows.)

  • PDF to Word Document problem

    First time user on Acrobat 9 Pro and am trying to convert a PDF document (I'm not the author) to a Word document.
    Once a word document I want to be able to edit or e-mail to a 3rd party to edit.
    Each time I have attempted "save as" or export the following message appears and the document is saved as a picture (thus cannot be edited in word).
    "Acrobat was able to make this document accessible but found the following oddities:
    Some difficult pages were encountered requiring all graphics on those pages to be labeled as figures [1]."
    Does this mean there is no way that the document can be converted to word and then edited or am I doing something wrong?
    If anyone can advise I would be grateful.  Thanks

    It sounds like you might just want to consider putting the scan or image save (if possible) in the header of a WORD document set at exact zero spacing and at the top of the page and with the image below the line. This should show the image on the rest of the page and you could then just type in WORD to your heart's content. In any case, the original form will likely have to be used in the final since most folks would not accept a made up form, particularly if they have secured it. The WORD trick is one I used to use to fill out a monthly form and have a record of what I had completed. I haven't done it for many years, but is a useful trick.
    Just to demonstrate the point, I have put the first page of the IRS f1040 into a WORD file. The security on the form allowed for it to be saved as a TIFF and I just put the TIFF into the header of a DOC file. I changed the TIFF to be behind the text, and aligned at 0,0 of the margin (actually you might want to set your default margins first and then go from there, since a change of the margins will move the graphic). I then set the paragraph spacing in the header to exactly 1pt (you might be able to adjust this up, but might have to compensate for the TIFF alignment). You then go back to the document and type to your heart's content. The text should show on top of the graphic. You can do this with any graphic and it is a trick that few folks are aware of except for power users. I ran into it many years ago with a different word processor and found I had to set the paragraph to exact to make it work. With the WORD feature of having the graphic behind the text this may not be necessary.
    I have posted it (at least for a few days) at http://wadavis.ece.vt.edu/f1040Sample.doc. I think this may meet your need. In the end, you likely will need to come back to the original for and fill in the full data for the folks that made the form. If you can not save as a graphic, then you will have to scan. If it is in black&white, you might try either B&W or grayscale to save space. In my example I did not bother with the conversion to B&W and the form page is 985kB. In B&W it is 158kB. Grayscale is about 2 times larger. That would have made my sample file a lot nicer to work with. In any case, this idea takes a bit of time, but can be effective. If you have a multi-page form, then you would add a section break to a new page and repeat the process using a different header (a bit confusing in WORD, but is easy to do once you figure out the correct choice). Good luck.

  • Mail/Word weird clipboard thing

    I have a script that extracts information from various fields in selected messages within Mail concatenates it into a single string, formats it and places it on the clipboard.
    When run the script works fine if I paste the result into TextEdit. However if I paste it into MS Word then all the carriage returns (whether inserted by the script or copied from the body of the message) are not pasted.
    Anyone have any ideas why?
    This is a modified verison of a script I used to have for use with QuickMail Pro and it used to work fine with any text editor so I am a bit confused.

    Perhaps Word uses CR/LF as it's line ending so instead of returns in your preparation script you should be using something like:
    set CRLF to (ASCII character 13) & (ASCII character 10)
    then insert CRLF where you were putting returns.
    Note: I haven't tried this - I don't know what a typical line looks like on your clipboard.

  • Adobe Photoshop cs4-What Does Canvas Size Really Mean?

    What are we actually looking at when we place a picture on a canvas?
    For example, if I have a canvas of a width of 800 and a height of 1500 it appears on the screen to my eyes to be about 3 inches by 7 inches.
    Then let's say I add the headline: Risk takers of all kinds think the same.
    This headline will possibly take three rows to complete itself.
    But then I can make the same canvas fit the screen.
    Now the entire headline will fit on one row.
    What confuses me is which image of the canvas is a "what-you-see-is-what-you-get" in terms of how it will actually look on my webpage?
    In other words I guess my real question is how do I start with a canvas size that actually reflects my webpage or a defineable portion of it.
    Thank You,
    Jerry

    You'll have to forgive me but at times I'm not really sure what I'm talking about or doing.
    But an image or other content is built on layer canvas' I think?
    It gets all confusing because you may or may not fill a canvas with an image?
    Assuming you do fill a canvas with an image then I think the pixel dimensions and resolution will be directly tied to the canvas size?
    But I don't think any of that is my real point.
    I'll try to speak to my confusion using words other than those I first used.
    For example let's say you are making a squeeze page for your website.
    So you start with a headline that reads as follows: INTERNET MARKETER STICKS TO HIS GUM!
    Let's say those words are in large print.
    On my computer and I am using a small screen, if I create a canvas of a width =800 and height=1500 it occupies a space of
    of about 3" by 7".
    Now (and this part is now becoming like what I wrote above) those six words in large letters will occupy three to four rows on my computer.
    So in my mind I am thinking that when I eventually publish that page that the headline should occupy four lines. Make sense?
    But if I click the "fit to screen" Photoshop button, the canvas becomes larger on my screen and the entire headline will now fit on a "single" line.
    So now in my mind I am thinking that when I eventually publish that page that the headline should occupy one line.  See my problem?
    I guess my point is am I looking at WYSIWYG in the first, second or neither case?
    In other words what is the meaning of what I see when I look at a canvas?
    Thank you for your help.
    Here's one more attempt.
    Let's say you spend 12 hours designing a canvas in Photoshop that you thought would properly fill your webpage, and then you discover to your dismay that instead of your headline fitting properly only 37% of it does.  This would make you very unhappy and perhaps others.
    So what I'm trying to understand as a beginner is how does what I see on a canvas in Photoshop cs4 relate to a webpage.

  • Stuck with a horrible phone

    I started a contract with Verizon on the 25th of June, and was told I had two weeks to return the device for an exchange.
    My Droid 2 is constantly freezing, rebooting, and will stop recieving calls and texts.
    So when I show up 2 weeks later, they tell me they accidently told me the wrong timeframe to exchange my phone. They said 2 weeks, when the policy is 14 days starting on the day you bought it. So really 2 weeks minus one day.
    So I call into the support line, and a Verizon rep is extremely rude and keeps telling me it is my fault.
    I want nothing to do with Motorola, or Android anymore.
    This is ridiculous that i am at fault because a rep was mistaken on their policy. I am forced to either pay $500 for a new phone, or suffer through 2 years of dropped service, and a broken phone.

    Thank you for your inquiry and I understand your frustration over issues with your phone. Thank you spottedcatfish for your suggestions on resolving this issue.
    First, I just want to clarify that if you purchased the phone on June 25th, the WFG return policy would end July 8th, which is 14 days, or two weeks from purchasing the phone. I apologize for any confusion the wording may have caused, but the date would remain the same in either case.
    With the issues you are having with freezing, is this happening within or after using a certain application? When you were having issues receiving calls and text messages, was the phone still showing signal? Have you tried removing the battery while the phone was still on? You can also delete cache from applications to see if possibly a memory issue may be causing the freezing issue. Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>All>Application>Clear data/cache. Do this for larger sized applications and any applications you may be noticing this issue with.

    since i'm not an expert in games dont take this as an advice this is only a question: why would you need to slow down the x=x-speed? cant you use a smaller value for speed?
    all the events run inside a single Thread called ThreadDispatcher so if you are calling events a lot then your calling fire() a lot and if the fire() method is
    a long task the other events have to wait until the fire method finished to get their time.

  • Dynamic routing issue

    Hello,
    well, my question is: I have one central route (Cisco Catalyst 3750G-48TS-S) and twenty Switch with layer three ios (Cisco 3560G-24) conected in star topology....
    What i want to know is, how central router can communicate with just another router (Cisco 1841) that is behind any 3560G layer three switch?
    the cisco 1841 is always the same router that could be behind any other cisco 3560G switch.
    Thanks a lot for your patience!

  • Exception when no_data_found then variable =: 'Text field of my choice'

    Hi,
    I have an exception in a package I have created. The package compiles fine but when I test it nothing is returned. I want TEXT 'NULL' to be returned as I'll use this in a lookup later on.
    EXCEPTION WHEN no_data_found THEN
      v_Passangers                  :='NULL';
      v_Third_Party                 :='NULL';
      v_Witnesses                   :='NULL';
      v_Authorities                 :='NULL';
    begin
      MyPackage.Load_Context_1(355271);
      dbms_output.put_line('v_Passangers : '||MyPackage.v_Passangers );
      dbms_output.put_line('v_Third_Party : '||MyPackage.v_Third_Party );
      dbms_output.put_line('v_Witnesses   : '||MyPackage.v_Witnesses  );
      dbms_output.put_line('v_Authorities   : '||MyPackage.v_Authorities );

    TNS for Linux: Version 11.2.0.2.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.2.0 - Production

    Hi,
    First question, why have you posted this to the AQ forum? It is more of a PL/SQL question.
    However, in response - how do you know that NO_DATA_FOUND is actually occurring? How are thes package variables declared?
    Can you upload the contents of this package ? MyPackage.Load_Context_1(355271);
    I don't like the use of the word NULL - it leads to mass confusion, the word should mean what it means to Oracle, there are several other ways of acheiving this which I think would be better practice, for instance - it would be much betetr to have these variables returned as OUT parameters from the procedure rather than package level variables.
    Thanks
    Paul

  • Error handling on PO workflow

    I have a custom Workflow for PO Release. i am using BAPI's to Release the PO from one level to other level.
    when some one is opened the PO in ME22N, BAPI giving error and going for next level. How to handle this error.
    I can send error message to user a mail and i can complete the workflow in case of error. But workflow will STOP abruptly  in this case.
    Is there any other solution.
    Regards, Sri harsha

    HI Rick,
    Thanks for your Inputs.
    Still i am in Confusing with word " Temporary" . I have Defined Exception for my method as you suggested. But i have not found any check box or option in method to choose for temp.  Please tell me where i have to choose it as Temporary.
    Or else If write just "exit_return 9006", will it consider as Temporary error.
    Waiting for your inputs.

  • Error Handling on OM Workflow.

    Hi Guys, I have a question.
    I have a requirement on OM sales order form, suppose an workflow errors out because of some missing data. If the users enters or corrects the data, Now he want the workflow to start by some action on form instead of waiting for sysadmin to do retry. he is asking because there might be a chance of delay by sysadmin in doing retry. I am wondering whether this is possible on the form. If possible, can someone suggest me a way to do that.
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to work with CRM 2011 SDK

    Hi,
    I'm very new to CRM and I'm using CRM 2011. I have googled and got CRM SDK having sample C# codes for CRM customization. But Im confused how we integrate the code we are writing into CRM since it is a C# code that I can run separately through Web application
    or console application.
    How can I integrate the code into CRM?
    Please help

    Hey rafemuhammed,
    Additionally you have Custom Workflow Activities that can also be developed via the CRM SDK and be called from Workflows. These activities are essentially similar to Plugins, but can be invoked within workflow logic that you've previously created from the
    Workflow Wizard in CRM.
    If you are not familiar with Workflows, I'd suggest you start there to have a better understanding at how they can help you achieve your functional goals, as well as at how these are implemented and triggered (context). Understanding the available messages,
    Pre/Post events and Pre/Post images is the way to go!
    A few links that might help you out:

  • Regarding Doubt of oracle upgrade and oracle migration

    Hello,
    What is the diffrence between oracle upgrade and oracle migration, duirng any one of this is oracle going to touch oracle database and its data?
    Regards,
    V.Singh

    Singh wrote:
    Oracle migration means most likely from non-oracle database to migrate to oracle DB or lower hardware platform to higher/advance hardware platformI would say so. Note Oracle was also confused about word "+migrate+" since it was used till 9i to open the database in a special mode to upgrade the database itself. Nowadays, on 10g+, the command became "+upgrade+".
    In oracle upgrade we are updating oracle's new software version (9i to 10g) or patchset (102.0.2 to 102.0.4), once software is updated we giving command statup upgrade , during this phase some scripts are updating data so i belive it is updating oracle realted views,data dictionary,functions,triggers etc etc , instead of touching oracle data.Yes, upgrade script modify Oracle data and objects dictionary, but do not modify user's data and objects (if we expect a recompile of invalide objects as recommanded by the latest step of an upgrade).

  • Problème écran

    Bonjour à toutes et tous
    Je ne parle malheureusement pas anglais
    Voilà mon problème l errant de mon iPad a des micro railleurs est ce normal ??,

    Back inside from sanding the deck...it has been 20 years since I lived in France so the language as it is today can be confusing. Word usage is changing, even in France.
    Another reason to be careful when communicating via these forums (fora), avoid as much idiomatic usage as possible while still conveying the message.
    Hopefully he will come back and give a longer explanation of the problem...or perhaps a native speaker will come on and answer him so we can figure out the current idioms.

  • LR Installation - Upgrading LR 1.X Catalog

    Haven't yet installed my LR2 upgrade but was reading the LR2 user's guide and confused by words talking about "import photos from a catalog into LR." There is a note under this topic that says, "Database files or catalogs from LR 1.x ... must be opened and updated in LR2 before they can be imported into LR2." And then, talks about a dialog box from File/Import from Catalog regarding "existing photos". The options under existing photos --- I don't understand.
    So, simply, when I upgrade to LR2, will the install routine automatically ingest and convert the LR 1.x catalog, so won't have to do a separate import? Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

    I believe you are correct, yes. That note in the guide might be meant to say that you could't use the import from another catalog fucntion unless both catalogs are LR2.
    BTW, simply attempting to open a LR1x catalog in LR 2 will give you an "upgrade" dialogue which should do the trick (I'd recommend backing up your LR1x catalog manually before starting that, as an extra precaution). Also, my dialogue box defaulted to giving me the option to upgrade only one of several catalogs that I had. In order to choose the correct one, then, I had to select the "create new catalog" option, let LR2 create an empty catalogue, and then from there open and relaunch and upgrade the correct one.
