Confusion configuring End-to-End Monitoring

Hi,
I'm having some confusion configuring end-to-end-monitoring for the Adapter Framework on the Integration Server. If I activate the monitoring and save, I get the message that the HTTP Destination pmistore cannot be found and the prompt to make a new one. The destination pmistore is there, however, and correct, as far as I can tell.
If I make a new one using XIRWBUSER, I get the HTTP error 403, if I do it with a user with SAP_ALL, it works. Is this user just used to create the destination, but the communication still goes with XIRWBUSER, as it should be?
What am I doing wrong?
Greetings,
Francis Wolf

Incorrect RFC Destinations: When the configuration is saved, an RFC destination is created on the monitoring server for each XI component to enable end-to-end monitoring of the respective XI component. However, the test call failed for the destinations listed. Therefore, you must check the call and the authorization on the monitoring server for the destinations concerned, by using transaction SM59. Hi,
    Please check the RFC's PMIMZ020020090413 in SM59.
There you will find the test conncetion tab. Please check if you are able to login to target system or not.
If not please set the logon parameters and host name.
Also if the name and password are correct, check the following points
    1. The user is not locked on system that is the target of the RFC.
    2. Assigned the Authorisation object S_RFCACL for the user. It is to allow the user to access the trusted/trusting system.
    3. If you are on PI7.1 please check if the sm59 destination has fully qualified hostname.
I hope it should solve your problem.

  • ** End-to-End Monitoring - RFC destination error while save config in RWB

    Hi Friends,
We have 2 RFC destinations in our XI server. 1) PMI<client>001 2) PMI<client><client>800. First one is for XI server. Next one is for Sender/Receiver System.
We want to activate End-to-End Monitoring in RWB. For this, when I save configuration, it throws the following error.
Also check whether RFC user used for the destination is maintained in the relevant XI component. Note that a component can only be monitored when its RFC destination is maintained correctly.
I have checked the user in the above destinations. For the first destination, we have assigned PIRWBUSER of XI system. Test Connection is OK, but unable to login remote. At the same time, PIRWBUSER is not locked.
For the second destination, I have assigned some login user of sender/receiver system. Test connection is OK. Able to login remotely.
There is no RFC user in our XI system. (I tried using RFCUSER* thru SU01 tcode).
There is no PIRWBUSER in the Sender/Receiver System.
In RWB, Configuration, 3 components are there. 1) XIIntegrationServer 2) Business System (for Sender/Receiver System) 3) XI Adapter Framework. I selected last two. (First one is already selected). Monitoring Level : Medium (for all 3). Send and Receive Check box is selcted for the last two.
So, what could be the problem for the above error?
    Could you kindly clarifiy friends.
    Thanking you
    Kind Regards,
    Jeg P.

    Hi friends,
I have one RFC Destination PMI<sysid>001. (Abap Connction) in my XI system. This destination is for  XI server. Connection Test is OK. Remote Logon by using the PIRWBUSER is also ok.
In the 'Configuration' tab of the Runtime Workbench, when we select 'Save Configuration', (Business System and Adapter Framework is not activated) with the default activation for XI Integration Server, the system throws the following error.
Also check whether RFC user used for the destination is maintained in the relevant XI component. Note that a component can only be monitored when its RFC destination is maintained correctly.
When we save configuration, an one more destination is automatically created in the name as below.
    PMI<sysid>001<yyyymmdd>. For Example, PMIPID00120080207.
When we test  newly created RFC destination, connection is OK, but not able to remot login using the same user PIRWBUSER.
The difference between old and new RFC destination, in old, we have selected Load Balancing is 'Yes', but in the new it is 'No'. The system also tells the error below.
Name or Password is incorrect (repeat logon) - PMIPID00120080207
But, still remote login is possible in the old RFC destination using the PIRWBUSER.
So, What could be the problem ...?
    Kindly reply, friends.

  • Page cannot be displayed in PI end to end monitoring

In our production environment we get the 'page cannot be displayed' screen after from end to end monitoring clicking on display.
We did turn on the monitoring via RWB in 'configuration' on level high for the XIIntergrationServer and XIAdapterFramework and than saved the configuration.
Our other PI servers work fine.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
    Please refer http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/98/1ccbed8a233e4ca57d2b938e67c188/frameset.htm
for the help on configuration of end to end monitoring in RWB. Please note that you have started HTTP services for PMI in SICF or RSXMB_ACTIVATE_ICF_SERVICES.
As its production system, you can contact your basis team and get check if any system/service user is locked.
Alternatively , instead of using E2E monitoring we can get most of the PI related information using Message monitoring itsef, i dont use end to end monitoring so often as most info i get from moni trace or message monitoring, component monitoring RWB.

  • RWB-Message Monitoring and End-to-End Monitoring

    hi
Can someone explain the differences between Message Monitoring & End-to-End Monitoring through RWB. I see both of them displaying the messages status with better descriptive with End-to-End Monitoring.

    HI Chandra
You use message monitoring in the following cases:
1 To track the status of messages
2 To find errors that have occurred and establish what caused them
Check this help for further info:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/2f/4e313f8815d036e10000000a114084/content.htm
You use end-to-end monitoring in the following cases:
1 If you want to monitor message processing steps in a number of SAP components (to be configured).
2 If you want to monitor the path of individual messages through these SAP components, from start to end.
Check this help for further info:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/82/9e8dfe9eadbd4b9194c433e646b84e/content.htm
End-to-end monitoring includes message monitoring, adapter monitoring, BPE if BPM is involved.. so end-to-end monitoring tells you complete description of your scenario......but message monitoring is concerned only with source message coming to target message successfully generated.
    Cheers..
    Vasu

  • End to End Monitoring confiuguration for 3rd party systems

    Hi,
I have been trying to racking up materials for end-end configurations for 3rd party systems and can't find any..All the ABAP  systems are perfectly configured in our End-End Monitoring system but can't find any of the third party systems..Is there a seperate method to configure 3rd party systems?
    -Teresa

    Hi Teresa,
You can't include 'Third Party' systems in end-to-end monitoring. We had raised a SAP note for the same and below is SAP response..
"End-to-end monitoring stands for the functionality included as of 6.40 that enables you to track XI messages accross several systems. This functionality can be configured for all components that are able
to contribute information to this process monitoring, i.e. only SAP systems can be configuered."
Also check this from online help..
"The Runtime Workbench receives the data for end-to-end monitoring from the Process Monitoring Infrastructure (PMI), which is an SAP monitoring tool for monitoring end-to-end technical processes involving multiple SAP components."
