Connect Crystal 11 with SAS data sets
Hi, when I try to start making a report from scratch in Crystal, first I set a connection data source with SAS data files and then when I move a field of this sets it's appera a message error; "Failed to retrieve data from the database.", and after click OK appere another error message; "Error Code: 08x00a0bb9, Source: ADODB.Command, Descrition: Arguments are of the wrong type, are out of acceptable range, or are in conflict with one another."
Anyboy who help me??
Hi
Are you facing this issue with a particular SAS data file? and are the arguments provided compatible with the datatypes defined?
Which version of CR are you using ?
Please let me know the above information.So that I can proceed further.

Connect Business Objects to SAS Data Set?
Has anyone ever been able to use a SAS data set as a data source for Business Objects?
I've connected to a SAS datastore in Business Objects Data Services, and it's straightforward.
What you need is to set SAS up as an ODBC server.
This can be done in 2 ways:
- Using the SAS/SHARE product on any server that is accessible from BOBJ. This is quite pricey, so maybe you should only consider this if you have a SAS/SHARE license already, or your project can pay for it.
- Using an ordinary running SAS session on the same server.
You also need to install an ODBC driver on your BOBJ server, in order to access your SAS ODBC server.
You can read about SAS ODBC on SAS Institutes website. Start here:

Connect OBIEE to a SAS data Set
Has anyone done this before? and do you know of any gotchas? I am able to see the SAS data set and my two tables, However I don't see the columns and if I try to View data I get an error saying it can't read the base tables.
ThanksYeah, it is actually my second post. I forgot I post once before. I just checked and LabVIEW version is 8.5.1. The FP of the child VI is hidden when the main VI is running. Could you let me know is the child VI FP is still updating if it is hidden? Thank you very much.

Hi Everyone,
It is my first Post here. I am buiding software for an autoprober and I have a large set of data (not really large actually about 640kB). There are lots of devices on the wafer so I want to minimize the time it takes to read/write data. I tried lots of different ways but it still takes me several hundred ms to perform data reading/writing, and it get slower and slower when the data set grows larger. I am using LabVIEW 8.5.1 and attached is my block diagram for testing a single die. I tried using Global variables, Local variables, Global functional variables, but I am not able to improve the performance. It is greatly appreciated if someone can help me on this problem. Thanks!
Best,
Yaqi
No, It is your second post! and LabVIEW 8.5.1 did not have an In-Place-Element structure
Now go look at the Producer Consumer (events) template. READ the examples, and undrestand the method "defer FP updates"

Problem with a data set: DIAdem crashes
Hi,
I've got a problem with a data set. When I want to zoom in DIAdem-View, DIAdem crashes with the following message (translated from German ;-):
error type: FLOAT INEXACT RESULT or FLOAT INVALID OPERATION or FLOAT STACK CHECK
error address: 00016CB8
module name: gfsview.DLL
I've got some similar data set not showing such problems. Further on I scanned the data a bit, but in the 59000 points I didn't see anything special. I did try to delete "NOVALUE"s as well, but after that there still exist "NOVALUE"s.
Does anyone have an idea what to look for?
Thanks,
CarstenCarsten,
Could you please upload you Citadel database to the following FTP site:
ftp.ni.com/incoming
If you want to compress (ZIP) and/or put a password on the data, that's fine. Please send me a private email at [email protected] (with the file name and password if you put one on the file) once you have uploaded the file and I will check it out.

Info needed on how to design xcelsius dashboards using SAS data sets.
Is it possible to design a xcelsius dashboard using SAS data sets? Any info on this subject is highly appreciated. Thanks.
Hi,
I am not much aware of the SAS datasets, but i can definitely provide some pointers on what data Xcelsius could consume.
Assuming you use Xcelsius 2008 - you can have static data within the embedded excel sheet..
You can recieve dynamic data using
1. QAAWS
2. Web Services
3. XML data
4.Live Office
and more....I am sure some of the Gurus could provide better pointers. -
Target Spry RowID on page with Multiple data sets from another page
Hi all,
I am trying to target a specific data item, on a page with
multiple data sets, from a link on another page. (I also have to
pass the link through Flash, but lets start with the simple
part...)
You can take a look at the site in progress here:
http://www.3andband.com/TestSite/iframeTest3.html
From the Home page I want to link to specific news or concert
items on the News page
I have been trying to get SpryURLUtils to do it but I can't
seem to get it working.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Bendid u try if it even passes the row value?? with a simple
alert? alert(params.row)
Also maby u need to reorder the scripts to this;

and your js script
var params = Spry.Utils.getLocationParamsAsObject();
var dsConcerts = new
Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("includes/concerts.xml", "Concerts/concert");
dsConcerts.setColumnType("image", "image");
var dsNews = new Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("includes/news.xml",
"News/item");
//Set an observer so that when the data is loaded, we update
the current row to the url param value
dsNews.addObserver({ onPostLoad: function(ds, type) {
dsNews.setCurrentRow(params.row); }
function MM_effectBlind(targetElement, duration, from, to,
toggle)
Spry.Effect.DoBlind(targetElement, {duration: duration,
from: from, to: to, toggle: toggle});
So url params get loaded before the data -
Fighting with typed data set and GetChildRows() method
Hi,
I have problems with the GetChildRows method of a typed data set of a VS2005 data set designer generated code to get all child rows from a parent table. Its not working the way it should and throws a "invalid cast exception" on the line
DataSet.T_CHILDRow[] childs = parent.GetT_CHILDRows();
I don't know if the problem is me and my still limited VS/C# knowledge or the Oracle .NET provider (local installed oracle10gR2 and Oracle .NET provider v2.0.50727) or VS2005 and the code generator for the data set.
I attach the sample script to create my test table T_PARENT and T_CHILD as well as some test data and my program.cs console test application. To create the data set, just add a new data set to the solution named "DataSet.xsd" and drop the two test tables from the database explorer onto the data set designer window.
TIA,
Stefan

}I found it: the problem is a bug in VS2005. Even SP1 provides no fix. MS just states that it will be fixed in the next VS release, but provides no info which release this will be.

It's actually no problem doing that. Can you explain more what you want the final result of this page to display? You are pulling a recordset of the entire group of photos. Do you still want that comprehensive recordset on this page? How many other images do you want? Are you trying to make a master/detail pair where this page displays only the details for a single image? See what I mean? -
Using alternate rows with Spry Data Set
Can anyone provide more information on how to implement alternate row colors with a Spry Data Set? What I have done is:
Create spry data set using HTML page as the data set
The html page that displays the data set is:

In the default.css page that is linked, I added the info in note #1 below
When the page displays, no colors appear. Tried changing the colors and still no luck. Is there another step to do?
Note #1:
within the default.css, the following are declared:
#equipment odd {
background-color: #CCC;
#equipment even {
background-color: “#F2F2F2;
Note #2:
Here is a link to see the actual pages referenced above.
Any ideas? Getting frustrated!! Thanks in advance for any advice.You are going to kick yourself, but, you haven't assigned any page element the ID #equipment. The region is called that but the table or the DIV does not have an idea and your selector matches nothing...

the VirtualizingObservableCollection does the following:
Implements the same interfaces and methods as ObservableCollection<T> so you can use it anywhere you’d use an ObservableCollection<T> – no need to change any of your existing controls.
Supports true multi-user read/write without resets (maximizing performance for large-scale concurrency scenarios).
Manages memory on its own so it never runs out of memory, no matter how large the data set is (especially important for mobile devices).
Natively works asynchronously – great for slow network connections and occasionally-connected models.
Works great out of the box, but is flexible and extendable enough to customize for your needs.
Has a data access performance curve so good it’s just as fast as the regular ObservableCollection – the cost of using it is negligible.
Works in any .NET project because it’s implemented in a Portable Code Library (PCL).
The latest package can be found on nugget. Install-Package VirtualizingObservableCollection. The source is on github.Good job, thank you for sharing

Hi,
I have page that uses a spry data set called 'dsSupport',
however i do not want to use a table to select the item in the list
i am instead using a spry select box:

Step1: Select your product:

Choose from a
list:

{name}

Please select an
item.

This is connected to a spry detail region so i can pull up
more details from the data set, but when i change the option in the
select box nothing happens. Is this possible? If so can anyone
help!
If i drop a spry table in to the div tag as well i can select
the items in there and the detail region does change so i know its
linked ok and all the table items are showing in the select box, i
just cannot get it to change when i select something different in
the select box!fixed it using:

{name}
{name}

Using Autocorrelation with Finite Data Sets
I am trying to autocorrelate data that has been collected in a text file. However, every attempt at autocorrelation results in a triangular-shaped curve with a spike on the top. I would like to know what I could add in my VI to eliminate the triangular-shaped curve, which arises because I am examining a finite data set.
Cheers,

Attachments:
autocorrelation_fcsdata2.vi 262 KBBut I expect my autocorrelation function will decay much more rapidly than my total acquisition time, so I dont believe "zero-buffing" will solve my problem.
The shape of my autocorrelation function is triangular because my raw data acts like a square pulse with noise. Since this triangular shape dominates my resulting autocorrelation function, it makes it very difficult to analyze. Any suggestions on how I can resolve this issue?

I have posted this over on the Spry forum but wonder if someone else has had a similar issue and found a solution as I am trying to find the answer to this quickly if possible; I want to use a tooltip with an xml data set.
I have an xml data set of events and within it there is a tooltip element. How can I get another element to act as a trigger so my tooltip appears when I mouseover the element?
My data set is displaying correctly. I'm trying to get the event title element to act as the trigger and the code that I have so far:

Date

Title

Location

Price

{date}

{title}

{location}

{price}

{tooltip}

back to top

I see & chars in your xml, try wrapping it in <[CDATA[
]> tags like this:

<[CDATA[Beer (B), Beer & Wine (BW)
or Beer, Wine & Liquor (BWL)
premises

Also if check out your xml in firefox, you will see that it
shows a parsing error, most likely caused by the issue i addressed
