Connecting E-printer to the internet (Solution)

To all:
I was having trouble connecting my e-printer to the internet.  Went to HP Support and no one had the answer for me.  Yesterday, I finally figure it out.  Maybe this will help many of you.  First, I went to the Wireless Signal, click on that and then scroll down to the Advance Menu, click on that and that brought up Automatic IP Address and Manual IP Address.  I scroll to manual IP Address, click on that and put in my PC IP address and it finally worked.    Then I went to the e-printer again and click on the E-print symbol and it finally gave me the print information code I needed to connect to the internet.

My HP PhotoSmart 7520 can create its own ad hoc network allowing the iPad and the printer to communicate without an internet connection. Many AirPrint printers have this feature. I found these instructions in another discussion and without actually creating the ad hoc network, I did go through all of the steps up to that point (creating the network) and this is how it would work with an HP that is capable of creating the network.
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4543458?start=0&tstart=0
Both the iPad and the printer must be on the same network, however you can work without a router by using the Wireless Direct feature of the printer, therefore you will need to switch networks in order to print.
Follow the steps below to enable Wireless Direct:
From the Home screen, touch the Wireless icon
If Wireless Direct displays Off, touch Settings.
Touch Wireless Direct, touch On (No Security) or On (With Security).
Now from your iPad enter Settings > Wi-Fi and connect to the Wireless direct network. If you aren't sure about the network name or password follow those steps:
From the Home screen, touch the Wireless icon, touch Settings, and then touch Wireless Direct
Touch Display Name to display the Wireless Direct name
Touch Display Password to display the Wireless Direct password

  • I cannot connect my new HP Photosmart printer to the Internet

I just bought an HOP Photosmart printer D110 series. I can print from my Outlook Express and Word documents, but I cannot print from the Internet. What do I need to do to print from the Internet. I tried doing START, Control Panel, Printers and Faxes, but there is no option to set the printer as a default printer.
    Ann

I have faced the similar issue as my macbook cannot detect my home wifi, whereas it can detect my neighbour's.
Here is the steps i did to fix, hope it will help to you guys.
    1. Go to system preferences, network
    2. Keeping your wifi off, set the location as Automatic
    3. Go to advanced and remove all the preferred networks and click ok and save the changes.
    4. Restart the modem and give a try. If it connects then fine. But if doesnt connect then follow the next steps.
    5. Open the factory ipaddress of the modem in a browser, Mostly it will be in the back of modem. (For eg it will be 192.168.1.1).
    6. After authenticating, go to wireless option, choose the wireless mode & Channel mode as auto
    7. Click ok and save the modem configurations.
    8. Restart the modem and try to switch back the wifi in macbook to on.
    9. It will detect.
    Thanks!

  • How can I print while the internet is disconnected?

    I have Pro 8600.
How can I print while the internet is disconnected for some reason?
My internet router is unstable recently.
    thanks.

    Hi,
    Your printer has these:
     USB 2.0-compliant high speed
     USB 2.0 high-speed host port
     Wireless 802.11b/g/n*
     Wired 802.3 network (Ethernet)
You can use USB or Ethernet connection to print. I always define USB as second printer and I can print direct.
    Regards.

  • Printing from the internet

I have an hp officejet 4500 that has suddenly stopped printing from the internet.  When I click on the print button a fax box comes up.  I have tried going to the hp solutions screen and clicked on fax settings but nothing comes up.  I am not connected to a phone.  I have tried going through the devices troubleshooting in Windows. It fixed the problem the first time but now I am back to the fax box.

    Hi there,
Try downloading and running the print and scan doctor located here:
    http://goo.gl/Ujpib
It can fix a lot on its own and if not give a better idea of what is going on.
    Best of Luck!

  • Won't print from the internet.

Moved to Printers for better support.

    Hi @jillehorn,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that your HP Deskjet 1510 will not print from the internet. I am sorry to hear this, but happy to help you with your printing concerns!
For further assistance, I will need some additional information:
If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer is connected, Wireless, or USB.
If the printer is able to make a test page. Video: Printing a Test Page - HP Deskjet 1510 All-in-One Printer
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
If you can print from any other programs, such as NotePad (Windows) or TextEdit (Mac).
In the meantime, please see this general printing guide, Print Jobs from Your HP Printer are Stuck in the Print Queue. (Even though the guide title may not match your issue, I believe the solutions will help.)

  • How do I connect my Centro to the Internet via bluetooth over PC's Internet? Where is Centro's PPP Connection Type? How do I setup Login Script for bluetooth connection?

I am trying to set up bluetooth on the Centro to connect to the internet via my PC's internet.
    HotSync over bluetooth works successfully.
Computer specs: Toshiba P205-S6277; Bluetooth Stack v5.10.04 (currently using); Bluetooth Monitor v3.01 (to use Vista's built-in bluetooth)
I think I have narrowed my problem down to 3 things.
    (1) Finding Network Access properties (to allow connected devices to access the internet)
    (2) Finding Centro's Network Connection Type: PPP
    (3) Finding the correct Login Script to use
for (1) I think I've looked everywhere; found nothing on Network Access.
Checked control panel: only Bluetooth Local COM
Right-clicked bluetooth icon > Settings: File transfer, PAN Networking, PAN DHCP server, AV controls. Other bluetooth settings are for file transfer or object push. I don't see anything like this.
I'm stumped on (2). It seems as if palm removed this option under Centro's Advanced network settings .
Nearly all the forums that I read says to choose Connection Type: PPP.
    (3) Found 2 scripts that seemed would work. I don't know how it exactly works but it sounds workable.
    First script:
    Send: CLIENT
    Send: CLIENT
    Wait for: CLIENTSERVER
    End:
    Script 1 Connect Log:
    =======================================
    Connect Log
    S: client
    S: client
    R:
    Err: 0x121F   <<<netErrUserCancel b/c I canceled it.
    Not connected
    ========================================
I canceled it because the process would stay on "Signing In" then it automatically "Canceled" itself.
    Second script:
    Send CR:
    Delay: 1
    Send: CLIENT
    Wait For: CLIENTSERVER
    End
**UPDATE** I found on this forum (Reply # 3689) that the script is needed only if you are using Palm OS 4 or under. Centro uses Palm OS 5.49121. Can anyone support this?
Even without the script it has problems "Signing In".
I'm currently reading this site and trying out its decribed methods. I will update this thread when I get the results.
I'm using the Centro. And If anyone's been able to successfully connect to the internet on the Centro via a bluetooth connection to the PC WITHOUT 3rd party applications, please share.  If not, please share any ideas.
    Thanks!

I've been going at this for days, and have probably exhausted all the proposed solutions on the first 3 pages of various google searches. I'm getting the feeling that Vista users are pretty much SOL for the time being.
For the record, I just tried out a few of the solutions (mRouter & SoftickPPP) on XP and they work perfectly.

    Hi dizzytomboy56
You will have to contact your wireless provider to ensure you have a BlackBerry data plan, which is different than a standard data plan.

  • Can't print from the internet but other stuff I can

I have had my printer for about 4 months now and everything has been fine until the other day when it stopped printing from the internet.  Now that I think about it, it's about the same time I put new ink in.  But I can print from Word and other stuff.  I even pulled up the printer in Devices and Printers and did a test page and everything was fine.  I have an HP Envy 4501 (Print Scan Copy Photo).  I use Chrome for my internet and like I said, I've never had a problem in the past with it.
I downloaded the HP Print and Scan Doctor and it said everything was good.  When I select to have my email printed, it opens it in a new window and then it does the print display for me and I have to select 'Print using system dialog...(Ctrl+Shift+P)' and then it opens the print window.  It has my printer selected, I hit print and nothing happens.  My printer icon appears down by my clock in the lower right hand corner of my computer and when I hover over it, it says '(1) document pending for Missy' but then nothing happens and a few seconds later it changes to '(0) document pending for Missy'.  ????
What am I doing wrong??  Help please!!!

    Hi MissyDub,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that you are having a problem printing from Google Chrome, where the print job is shown, but then leaves the queue. I would be happy to assist you with this issue!
It sounds as though the issue is isolated to Google Chrome. To restore the browser settings (and printing settings) for Chrome you can uninstall and reinstall the software. If you are using a Mac, you can follow this document. If you are using a Windows computer, you can follow this document.
If that is still giving you trouble, you can also (contact Chrome Support) to find out if further assistance is necessary with their program.
Thank you for visiting the HP Forums, and I will look forward to your reply!

My officejet j4580 all-in-one printer won't print anything I try to print off the internet, nor from microsoft word.  I tried reinstalling, but it gets stuck at 94%, and it took almost 3 hours to get to that point.  What can I do?  My operating system is microsoft vista.

    Hi,
Here are a couple of things to try.  I would first start with downloading and running the Print Diagnostic Utility.  IF this doesn't clear it up, then try the document on Problems printing from the internet.

  • My new Officejet Pro 8500a on a Windows XP machine will not print from the Internet.

I just purchased and installed an Officejet Pro 8500a all-in-one and everything seems to work fine except that the maachine will not print from the internet.  I use Windows XP home and and the Firefox browser.  The printer is connected directly to the computer, and is not directly connected to the Internet or any other network.

The Officejet 8500 printers take individual ink cartridges (IIC); that machine requires that all cartridges be installed to ensure that the printhead does not get damaged. Ink is used in the printer not just for printing, but maintain the printer and the printhead. One can reduce the amount of color ink the printer uses by changing the printer settings to Grayscale or use black ink only. Page 34 of the user manual shows how one can change those settings when printing documents. For further information on how ink is used in the printer; one can look as this page here where it goes into detail on the different ways that ink is used in the printer.
I would just replace the color cartridge that the printer indicates needs replacing when the machine alerts you to low ink. I would not replace all colors at once when only one is in need of replacing.
    I hope that this helps.

  • For 3 years my iMac and miniMac both communicated with a Canon printer and the internet using an Airport Extreme.  Last winter, the miniMac lost printing via the Airpor and now can't communicate with the network at all.

For three years my iMac and Mac mini were networked via Airport Extreme with a printer and the internet.  More recently, I added an iMac and iPhone.   PROBLEMS:  A few months ago the Mac mini lost its connection to  the printer, and now it cannot locate the network at all.

If you use the extreme as a router then the tc should be connected via its wan port to one of the lan ports on the extreme. Tc should be set up in bridge mode. Basically you could set it up to create another wireless network beside the one created by the extreme. There is no need to use WDS or extend the other network.
Use the same SSID and password for both machines. Computers will connect to the strongest signal.

  • Printing to a printer over the internet - someone please verify

My mission was to be able to print to my Home Xerox 6300N printer behind a firewall from anywhere using the internet as my connection. I used LDP as my protocol - could not seem to get anything else to work.
My Gateway is a static address using a DSL connection. I have 2 ethernet cards. 1 for the internet and 1 for the localnet.
I am running OS X 10.4.6 and have Flying Buttress as my Firewall.
I have IP share turned on.
I opened port 515 for LDP in Flying Buttress. In Flying Buttress, I allowed port 515 to point to the IP address of the printer.
From work I opened the Printer Set-up Utility and selected Add. From there I held down the Option key and clicked on More Printers at the bottom.
I was now in the Advanced section and selected LDP as my protocol.
I named the Device Name: Xerox
The Device URL would be lpd://<gateway ip address>:515
I then selected the driver for the printer and clicked Add.
So I printed from work and had my wife check the printer to see if anything happened. And YES IT DID!!!
So there you have it - I am now able to print to my Xerox. I hope this helps anyone who wants to do the same thing.
Now the next thing I need to figure out is how to print to my HP 5000N printer. Since I already used port 515 and mapped it to the Xerox, I need to figure out what port I can use for the HP printer. I guess I need to figure out what protocol the HP 5000N will accept.

OK - I will answer my own question. I just figured it out. Actually I posted this once before but since forgot how I did it and the post was archived or deleted from this forum.
Anyways, to print from my work printer over the internet to my printer in my office, I did the following...
    1. In printer set-up, I selected LPD
    2. In the address I entered my static IP address of my home's gateway xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:515
where 515 is the port for LPD
    3. I named the printer Home Printer
    4. Set up the printer (Xerox) and selected the correct driver.
    5. Made sure the port (515) was open on my gateway @ home and directed that port to the IP address of the printer. I use Flying Buttress as my firewall.

I have a HP Lazer Jet 1020.  I cannot print directly from the internet.  I can copy a document from the internet to a word document and successfully print that way, but I need to figure out how to print directly from the internet - for example, print a boarding pass.

Update your Java runtime environment to a newer version.
Which browser are you trying to print from? Had you considered trying a different browser? If you are using Internet Explorer then try Firefox or Google Chrome.

  • I cannot print off the internet.

I cannot print from the internet, the printer wants to fax the document and I do not have the printer set up to fax. I have Windows 7. I have a MX922 just set up.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi mmwesty,
Please open your internet browser and then go to FILE and select the PRINT option.  Please ensure that the PIXMA MX922 printer is selected in the window and not the PIXMA MX922 FAX.  Next, please go to your START menu and select DEVICES AND PRINTERS.  In the window that opens, please right-click over the icon for your PIXMA MX922 and select the SET AS DEFAULT PRINTER option.  This will set the printer as the default when you attempt to print instead of the fax.
    Hope this helps!
