Connecting older style power connectors devices to the magsafe

With the older style power plug is there a converter to the magsafe so we can use Lind power supplies or similar on long flights with inseat power?

I would like to connect my roommate's 20" apple cinema display to my PC. I believe the cinema display is ADC, it connects to her Mac with three wires - DVI(?), USB, and Firewire.
Then it's DVI, not ADC. With ADC, there is only one plug.
My PC has a GeForce 7950GT graphics card that has dual-link DVI capability. Is this possible and if so, what kind of adapter(s) do I need?
The DVI should plug in with no adapter needed.
Also, would I need some kind of power adapter as well - to account for the USB and Firewire connections?
The display should have an AC power supply included. You don't need to connect the FireWire cable if you don''t use the FireWire ports on the display. The USB is needed for computer control of brightness, but the display should work with it disconnected.

Have you tried restarting the printer? Reboot the iPad as well.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

This error displays on every single SD card I connect and none of them work. This has worked fine for months now, but until a few days ago, it has stopped working. I'd check your HDMI cable is seated correctly at each end to begin with, pull it out and put it in again, if that doesn't help...
Please tell us how are you trying to play video from the iPad, is it via AirPlay or are you using the iPad to control the Apple TV and at what point is the message displayed.

I am performing an assessment tht includes maintenance contract information. My client entered his CCO credentials and over a dozen contracts appeared in the window. Hi ,
In order for the device to allow SNMPv3 vlan context-based queries to be processed, the
following must be added to the configuration for EVERY vlan that you want user tracking to
    collect information on:
    “snmp-server group v3 context vlan-X” (where X
    is the vlan number)
Perform the following on the switch to help show which vlans require this command:
    "show snmp context"
Solution: Configure the switch to allow vlan context queries.
    I hope this will help
    Thanks-

  • Computer won't power up if the 2x2 CPU POWER connector is plugged in

Yesterday I assembled this computer and it was working great. Played games on it and everything.
    MSI K9a2 CF, ATHLON 5000+, LC POWER 550W, RADEON 3850 256MB, 2x1G SUPER TALENT 800MHZ RAM.
3 hours ago I went to the store and left 2x PRIME95 torture test running just to check for stability. After  2hours I got home only to find out the the computer has been shut down but the KEYBOARD still had a light on the NUMLOCK led.
So then I unplugged the PSU from power and started up again. But the PC only started for half a second and then the power went off.
So I pulled everything out of the board only to find out that if the CPU POWER 2x2 connector is in the board then it will not power up. Then I also took out the cpu and try to power up without the CPU and  with the CPU POWER 2x2 connector in and it also doesn't power up.
    Conclusion:
If the 2x2 CPU power connector is in the MB regardless if the CPU is in or not then the computer will not power on. But if the 2x2 CPU power connector is absent then the computer powers up. But that don't do me any good since without that connector the CPU can't function.
I also tried hooking it up to another PSU but it does no good. The MB, CPU, GPU, RAM, HDDS are only 2days old.
Also it couldn't have overheated since the temperatures never went higher than 50C during full load thx to Scythe Ninja Revision B cooler and also there is no smell or any indication that something could be burned. The temps were checked with BIOS as with MSI probe.
My question is is the MB the problem?? So I would know which part to send back for warranty

Do you use system stock parameters?(No OC)
    Check CPU cooling system.
List PSU details(Look over PSU sticker for them)
Everything was at stock speed there was even no tweaking involved.
CPU cooling system was working great. Under load the max temperatures it had gotten was 50C. And also the CASE was opened so there was no chance of overheating. And also when I started PRIME95 I opened the window and closed the radiators which means the room temperature was about 15C celsium only.

  • M93p tower: how many SATA power connectors?

I'm planning on buying an M93p tower for the first time (I already have an SFF machine), and want to use four SATA devices in it (two internal SSDs, a DVD drive, and a front-panel-accessible backup drive).
Will the power supply come with four SATA connectors, or will I need to buy one or more SATA power splitters?
Many thanks for any help with this question.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

There's one spare SATA-3 data connector on the motherboard (you'll need to buy a SATA-3 data cable) and a spare SATA power connector off of the PSU. So for sure you can use that spare power connector to install a second internal hard drive without needing a power splitter of your own.  I installed a 256GB SSD in the spare internal drive cage, leaving the Lenovo-provided 1TB SATA spinner just where it was.  I then copied the OS system contents over from spinner to SSD, changed the boot sequence in the BIOS to point to the SSD as the first drive, cleared the spinner, and that gave me the original spinner as a fully available 1TB data drive.  I actually created several partitions on both SSD and spinner for some flexibility.
The CD/DVD drive is already connected for data and power, so you don't have to worry about it.  So the one spare power cable connector and your own data cable set is all that's necessary to install a second internal SSD drive.  Remember, there is only a 280W PSU in this machine so you can't really put too much in it.
I use an external USB 3.0 drive for backup.  It's actually a SATA drive inside the enclosure, and USB 3.0 performance is around 1Gb/sec which is perfectly acceptable.  No need to worry about another SATA drive with power/data requirements.
You're going to probably want to install an upgraded low-power medium performing graphics card, rather than buying the Lenovo-offered HD8570 for $130.  It's not worth the price for the performance it provides (about 25Gb/s bandwidth).  Your best bet is to install an R7 250 (1GB DDR5 memory, with three digital connectors), either a full-size version or low-profile version with full-size bracket. This low-power card provides about 73Gb/s bandwidth and does not require additional PCIe power connection (which there is none of off of the 280W PSU).  Works perfectly in this machine.

I just updated my iphone 4s to the new ios update. My car is a sync system that connects through bluetooth. I go to my bluetooth setting to search for devices and it wont find any. I believed it to be that my car that was the problem; but my sister has the same update on her iphone and was able to connect to my car no problem. please help!!!

    Hello 6underwood,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
    iOS: Troubleshooting car stereo connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3581
If you are experiencing difficulties with the connection between your stereo and device, disconnect the device, and then power cycle the stereo and your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. When the Home screen reappears, reconnect your device. If you cannot power cycle the stereo, turn the car off and then back on to allow the stereo to power off.
    Best of luck,

  • Does the 80w power adapter work for the 13" mackbook pro?

Any help would be appreciated... Thanks

You can use the power supply that came with your Mac or one that has a higher wattage, but not one with a lower wattage.
Specifically, in my home we have only 85W power supplies. They work fine with the older 17-inch Macbook Pro, a newer 15-inch Retina Display Macbook Pro, and with my daughter's Macbook Air 13-inch (which came with a 45-watt power supply that she leaves in her dorm room because she knows she can use these 85-watt ones when she visits).
The older style power supplies' magsafe plug can charge the older laptops as well as the newer Retina Display computers, but for the Retina Display laptops, you must use the small magsafe adaptor/converter along with the older style power supply.
I don't know of a way to use the newer power supplies that came with Retina Display laptops on an older laptop that accepts the older style magsafe adaptor.
If your original question was whether a power supply for a Retina Display computer can be used to charge a non-Retina Display 13-inch Macbook Pro, then I think the answer is NO because the Retina Display Macs use a different magsafe plug that won't fit into the slot for the 13-inch non-Retina laptop. The older power supplies CAN be used with the new Retina laptops because there is an adaptor one can get to allow the old magsafe plug to fit into the new Retina laptop.

  • HPE-210f, one 4-pin ATX power connector support USB card ?

For my Pavilion Elite HPE-210f, Product # BK169AA#ABA, HP support, Motherboard Specifications, H-RS880-uATX (Aloe), shows my PC as offering "one 4-pin ATX power connector."
Does that "ATX power connector" meet the requirement for a "5V 4 pin connector" to power a USB 3.0, 4-port, PCI-E Express Card that I wish to install?  With no free PCI Express x16 slot, I can't mount a GigaBit Ethernet card, so the USB 3 card seems helpful, apparently faster anyway, for connecting to the SS-USB port on my Gigabit switch.
How do we decode/understand the P-codes (ergo, P3, P5, I think I recall) on the power connectors on cables from the power supply?
Also, the PC board specs promise "Three PCI-Express x1 (Gen 2.0)," and "One PCI Express x1 minicard socket (Gen 2.0)."  I cannot identify the minicard socket, but I do see three identical PCI-Express x1slots, with only one occupied, so the slot requirement looks fulfilled.
Power cable OK?  Comments, advice? Thanks!

No, the 4-pin ATX power connector is for the motherboard.  If you have a link to the USB card, send it. Some use a 4 pin peripheral (molex) , some use a 15 pin Sata power lead.
I am sending this link. It explains all the various connectors of the typical PSU.

  • KT2 COMBO, Is 12v power Connector Needed?

Just Bought a "KT2 COMBO" to upgrade mi good old 6330 lite, and add some 2100 DDR Ram, and a new xp processor ( 2000+ ).
The problem is I'm using the same case, and the power supply in it has no 12 V ATX Power connector.
In the Quick User Guide, it refers to it (p 2-9), saying it's to provide power to the CPU.
Would the system work ok if I use only the main power connector?
Has anyone tried using it this way?

If you don't have stability problems it's probably fine.
You can buy an adapter to allow you to convert a mulex ( like you plug into an HDD ) to the 4 pin 12V plug.
If you don't have one you might try looking in local shops for butn out PSUs that have them, cut the wire and solder it to your PSU's output ( yellow to yellow, black to black )

  • 8130 Bluetooth Connect Option Missing for Some Devices

I cannot connect to some bluetooth devices on my Blackberry 8130.  Most devices I pair with have a connect option in the bluetooth menu but some don't, even though they have been successfully paired.  I have a specific device, a Holux H-1200 GPS that I used OK in the past with my 8130 but now refuses to connect and I cannot manually conect since there is no Connect Option for this particular device in the list of paired devices.  I have deleted and rediscovered the device multipe times.  When I pair successfully the properties show the Services SPP slave listed.  I have tried to enable and disable Trused and Encryption but nothing helps.  The Connect Option is present for all paired devices except 2 or 3 on my BB.  My bluetooth options are set at Discoverable yes, allow outgoing calls yes, address book transfer all entries, security level high, and all services are check marked.  I am with Verizon and my phone software level is 4.5.0.56.

In my own personal experience I have found that sometimes elements of the page (such as the Get Sample or Buy buttons) don't load in or load in incorrectly. Most of the time I've found that simply going to another page then back to the previous page fixes the issue or, like you have done, browsing from another devices shows the page just fine.

  • Internal hard drive power connector?

Just picked up a Maxtor 500 Gig SATA and the power connector that came with the drive is a four-pin? Please help if I am missing something... my G5 has a data and power connector at the bottom of the lower drive bay, but the power connector looks like a 15-pin similar to that on the drive itself. Do I need an adapter? I keep reading posts about how obvious the installation is but I am totally vexed! Is that my G5 is a first generation the problem?
    Thanks

Thank you for the reply. However, my problem remains.
The power and data fit into the drive, and the data cable correctly fits into the G5 data interface, but the power connector supplied with the drive has a female 15 pin connector for the drive and a male 4 pin to the G5. But my G5 seems to have a 15 pin female connector for power. Also contradictory to everything I have read, the power connector from the G5 is not hidden underneath the drive bay, it is right in front of it. I am not an idiot, but I feel like one
Please let me know if I am missing something or if I have the wrong power connector...

  • Quick question on 8-pin ATX Power Connectors

First, I am very VERY new at building systems.  I was building a Athlon 3800+ X2 system with a MSI RD480 Neo2-FI motherboard and ran into a 8-pin ATX Power connector.  Unfortunately, the 450 Watt PSU that came with my Antec Sonata II does not have that  plug.  The Computer Renassaince guy told me to just plug the 4-pin into the mobo and it would work (personally, I think he is nuts).   Question, is he right?  If not do I have to buy a new PSU or can I use some type of adapter?
Again, realize I am very new at this.  Thanks in advance.

You mean that there is a 8 pin connector on the mainboard is for cpu power supply and your own power supply doesn't have such a relevant
connector. If in that case, then the guy who told you to use the 4 pin connector is right, most of the time, it would work. You don't need to buy another power supply. Please firstly have a try.
