Connecting Wii to touchsmart IQ830uk

Hi everyone,
I want to use my iq830 as a monitor for wii. I have plugged in the video (yellow one) using
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000BZ2WC/ref=ox_ya_oh_product
and s-video (white and red).
Then I tried to set up tv signal using windows media centre but i've got a blur black and white signal in a small window.
When I click next it said IR cable is needed.
Is it really possible to play wii using iq830? If so what is missing?
Thank you.
Jac

I don't understand what you mean. You just plug it in. You don't need to select a TV.

  • Connect Wii to HP Touchsmart 600

I'm connecting my Wii through the s-video INPUT port. I know that it is an input port becase I can view the Wii startup menu video in cyberlink power director. What I cannot do is get the Touchsmart to find the s-video input in the live tv media center. How can I view the s-video input on my touchsmart so that I can play wii?

I'm sorry, but your Wii will not work through Windows Media Center, the Wii does not offer Media Center connection features.

  • Trouble connecting Wii to BEFW11S4

I've been having troubles connecting my Wii to my BEFW11S4 Ver. 3.0 router as of late.  The Wii finds the connection, but can't get to the Internet.  It keeps giving me the same code (I think it's like 52130 or something), which says that there's an issue with my router's firewall.
I've tried virtually everything both Linksys and Nintendo recommends, but I can't seem to figure it out.  What's the deal?

    hello, cubs5!
try to open ports for the WII which you can get from Nintendo. or set the WII to statuc ip and set DMZ for it. if that wont work, try connecting your WII directly to the modem and check if it has the same problem. now if it does, then check if your modem is a modem-router. then if it is then open the ports on the modem-router or set the DMZ there. but it modem is just a plain modem, contact ISP and ask them for assistance..

  • Using 3G cricket broadband to connect Wii to internet??

I really don't know what I'm doing, can anyone offer any advice?
I'm trying to connect our Wii to the internet using my Cricket Broadband 3G USB modem, plugged into my MacBook. I've tried to create a network with internet on, and it won't work. Will not find the connection, even though the signal is full. The Wii can see my computer's network, but will not connect.
Is there something I'm missing, or doing wrong, or does anyone have any other way of doing this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Angelique

To gain Internet access for the MacBook Pro, you will either need your own Internet service provided by an ISP or access to another Wi-Fi network that has Internet service.
Your MBP has a built-in wireless adapter, called an AirPort Extreme Card. This adapter is able to connect to just about any Wi-Fi network available today.
If you opt to get your own Internet service, most ISPs will provide you as a minimum an Internet modem. Some also offer a wireless version of this device. For those that do not, you will also need an Internet router (wired or combination wired/wireless) in order for your MBP's wireless to connect.

  • How do I connect Wii to my Toshiba 42TL515U

    Hi ,
I just got a Wii and have been banging my head on how to connect it to the 42TL515U TV that I have.
After spennding a lot of time , it seems that I need a AC Adapter Cable which the manual suggests that is supplied with the TV . I am not able to find that with my TV of course.
Is there a place where I can find that cable ? Or is there another cable which can solve this purpose
Any help regarding this information is appreciated.
    Thanks

I do not have it ... Seems it did not come with the TV ..or got lost somewhere-- not sure how.
But what is the way to connect this thing now ?
I haave been searchine online -- dont seem to find the cable anywhere.

  • Cannot connect Wii, TV,

Today, three of our internet-enabled devices, Wii, TV, and BD player, quit connecting to the internet.  Our computers (macbooks and an iMac), iPads, and iPhones connect just fine.  The iMac and the three internet enabled devices use a wired connection; the others are connecting wirelessly.  Cox Communications, our internet/cable TV provider, says that the problem must be with our router.  That router is a 1TB Time Capsule.
Any suggestions on how to correct this problem?

*Similar problem:* Time Machine Wireless (Airport Extreme Base Station) died & replaced new by Apple!... now that I have the wireless re-setup my MacBook Pro is able to connect to the Internet. My Apple TV connects (via Ethernet) also to the internet BUT sync between MBP & ATV is now lost!!
+I cannot see ATV in my iTunes... have tried various... unplug all connections, restart & reboot -all hardware: MBP, aTV, router, ADSL Modem; turn off Firewall+ still cannot sync or see ATV, also tried wireless instead of Ethernet without any success!
    Any suggestions gratefully received.

  • Connecting Wii to C2D iMac?

    hi there,
hey can this be done because I read elgato have a product tha can do this but only on some games.
    help would be appreciated.

If it can output to a standard def TV through the standard red/white audio and yellow video cables (RCA), products that are designed to capture such analog video should work.
I have this one (XLR8 XtraView USB).

I don't use it with a Wii, but I use it to connect a VCR to an Intel iMac.

  • Connecting wii to tv

I'm trying to connect my wii to a Sony receiver video input I am getting audio but no picture - can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I'm admittedly not very familiar with the newer Sony receivers.  I don't know if they can pass through the analog video from the RCA cables that come from the Wii.  However, a relatively easy workaround would be to leave the red/white audio portion of the RCA cable from your Wii plugged into your Sony receiver, but take the yellow cord (video) from the Wii and plug it directly into your TV.  That should work.  I can't say if it's necessarily the best or easiest option, but it should work.  You may have to change the source on your TV or from your receiver using this method.  This worked for with my very old Sony receiver.  There may be other or better fixes from those who are more familiar with the receiver.

  • Connecting Wii to BT FON/BT Openzone Hotspot

    Hi,
I have access to BT FON which I connect to using my laptop and other devices. Does anyone know how/if you can connect using a Nintendo Wii, as I can't get the login webpage as I would using other devices.
    Thanks.

I don't think you will be able to connect to it with the Wii. You could turn your Laptop into a wifi hotspot and use it through that.
If your laptop is Windows 7 or 8 you could download Virtual Router Manager and install it. Set up is very easy. You would then connect the laptop to BTWif as per normal and once connected start Virtual Router Manager which turns your laptop into a hotspot and you would log onto that with the Wii like you would when using your normal home wirelesss network.
You can connect any other devices through you laptop at the same time.

  • Connecting Wii to Internet

    Hello all,
I have been trying to connect my Wii to the internet. However, I am at college and getting it connected wirelessly won't work. I bought a Rocketfish LAN adaptor but that still didn't work. I have been reading about people connecting the Wii to there computer with an Adaptor to get internet!? Will this work in my case? Or is there an adaptor I can get to hook into my wii and then in a ethernet outlet in my room?  Is there any ideas you can give me to help me connect my Wii to my schools internet?
    Thanks!

the wii has built-in wireless capabilities as I'm sure you are aware so there is no need for an ethernet cable. From the home page on your wii go to settings, network settings, choose network type (wireless) then it will scan for networks and chose the one your dorm is connected to. Then test the connection. It may run through the settings for the network in which case just go with the defaults. If this still doesn't work, it's probably because your campus has safety features for their internet that are preventing you from using the internet on the wii in which case you will need to contact your resnet team and they will be able to figure it out.

  • Error when trying to connect Wii to Airport Extreme

Anybody else having a problem connecting their Wii to an Airport Extreme? I get the following error code: 51330.
My Extreme is configured for WPA security and sits right next to the Wii. When I configure the Wii if finds the SSID and when I put in the wrong WPA password it seems to know that it is the wrong password. When I put in the right password it makes it to the next step, which is the connection test, and I fails there.
Frustrating. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

THIS WORKED for me... hope it works for you: 1) Go into Applications>Utilities>AirPort Admin Utility>Configure. If it says "update available," go ahead and update it. 2) Change the channel to 1 or 11 (not sure this is necessary). 3) Disable WEP Security (Wii will stop asking for password by doing this - turn it back on whenever you don't need the Wii for long periods of time). When you hit "Update" to save the new settings, base unit will automatically restart. 4) Go back to the Wii, clear the old internet settings, restart it and go back in. This time, it should not ask for a password, and should tell you there's Wii updates, and ask you if you want them; update it. If a progression bar comes up, you're in business. When I took it for a test drive, it said there was another update, but skipped over it and started working.

  • Trying to use MacBook to connect Wii to internet

I just bought a Wii yesterday and I am trying to connect it to the internet so I can buy old school nintendo games. I have already spent way too much time on it and it won't work. The wii is recognizing the signal from my computer, but it will not pass the connection test. I would appreciate any help you can give me.
    I am running a MacBook 10.4.11 2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
I have the internet coming into my macbook through ethernet DSL and it is being broadcast through airport wireless.
Again, thank you for your help!

Ensure that the firewall on the MacBook is disabled.
Unfortunately OS X's Internet sharing has no options. If the services required by the Wii aren't passed through, you will need to buy an inexpensive wireless router and use that instead of your Mac.
