Connection lost

I have two computers that were on wireless, but lost its connection.  I didn't have any problem for over 2 years.  But I just lost my wireless connections few days ago.  I've called my local cable provided that provides the internet service, but told me to contact the router company.  I use Linksys Wireless-B model: BEFW11S4.
I've also tried using the wire.  I get some connection, but the speed is just horrible...takes more than 10 minutes to open the homepage.
I am network illiterate...so I'll need step by step instruction on what to do please.
Thanks in advance.

go to www.linksys.com/download and download the latest firmware for the router, logon to routers setup page and try upgrading latest firmware on the router, after upgrading/ reflashing firmware on the router...reset the router back to default settings by pressing reset button on the back panel of the router, release it after 30 seconds...power cycle the n/w by unplugging power cable of router and modem...wait for couple of minutes and power up the modem first and then the router...check whether it works for you or not...let me know if you have any problems.

Do a clean reinstall and download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You can skip the step to create a new profile, that is not necessary for this issue.

The v262 is essentially the same as the v265 but does not have the camera. I have done a modification to the plist file here http://www.lowendmac.com/macdan/05/0801.html to duplicate the v265 profile and change it to v262. iSync sees my phone. However, when I go press Sync in iSync, I get the following error:
The connection was lost while getting the changes from the device.

    Hi,
Please check Oracle support id : Troubleshooting ORA-3135 Connection Lost Contact (Doc ID 787354.1)

  • Database Connection Lost Error

    Hi,
    MyScenario is :
We send a query to database A collect resultset in java mapping and transform it to three more Select queries and send them to Database B So two chanels are there:
Sender JDBC channel, Receiver JDBC Channel.
Now the Output of Database B is converted to IDOC and sent to R/3 System.
This is working fine, but sometime it stuck at Database B saying error "connection Lost". And works fine afterwards. But in that case we miss the records which could not be processed.
What can be the reason for this ? Please suggest the solution at teh earliest. Can overloading be the reason for losing connection. Please suggest...
    Thanks & Regards,
    Priyanka

    Hi Priyanka,
You have to close the connection afte accessing the JDBC  "A".
So that it could be accesed by others.
Try to implement the suggetion given by sarvesh.
If it still does not work then i would say you go for JDBC look ups.
It will improve the performance as well.
    Thanks

  • Connection lost after 2 songs have been played.

Everytime I play songs from my macbook to ATV2 it plays only 2 - 3 songs then it hangs. I just got 4 songs out of it. I have to disconnect my home share and re connect to start it again. Any ideas why this would be happening. I've browsed the forum to see that other people have this issue, but there is no answer as to what is causing it. Surely its not the router as I have a new router. ATV2 streams movies without any interruption so I dont get why it happens to songs through itunes.

    Hi all,
Lets start off with some info. I have a XP machine with a WRT310N router but the connection to the router from my computer is wired. I have other computers on the network(a wired XP work comp and a wireless vista laptop). I do have linksys Easylink Adviser but it is was to laggy and doesnt work half the time so I dont use it. My antivirus software is Panda Internet Security 2008.
My problem has only occurred twice but it has prevented me from trying to make a server again. I have been wanting to host a dedicated counter strike source server in steam for awhile.
I followed all the port forwarding directions. I get the static ip set up and I open the 27015 port for steam.
I will make a dedicated server and have a few people join and then I follow. Everything works perfectly for about 5 minutes and then my friends are dropped from the server due to loss of connection. I am still in the server but no one can join or even get info on it meaning the server is not responding.
I then close out of steam and the server and find I have lost my internet connection. I can not visit any websites, I can not do anything in steam, I cant log onto aim, xfire or anything.
Now my local connections dont say "Connection lost" like they do when the router is shut off or if I lose the actual connection.
The only way it seems I can get my connection back is by unplugging the router, waiting 20s and plugging it back in. Then I have to wait about 5 more mins and it will just all of a sudden work.
Does anyone have an idea of what is happening? Is it the router? My antivirus/firewall?
    Thanks in advance
    Greg

    Hi
Try disabling the firewalls and access server side.

  • ARC3: RFS network connection lost at host 'stdbhost'

    Hi there,
having oracle 8.1.7.4 64 bit on Aix 4.3.3 replicating on a twin machine.
While archiving many logs within few minutes i'm having this error:
ARC3: RFS network connection lost at host 'stdbhost'
ARC3: Error 3113 creating standby archivelog file at host 'STDBIDIP.IDI.IT'
ARC3: Error 3113 creating archivelog file 'stdbhost'
Then after few seconds it retries and succeded. My clause in the primary db is:
    SERVICE=stdbhost OPTIONAL REOPEN=180
The problem is that sometimes it does not succeed so i loose some archives and there's a gap sequence. Unfortunately i loose some archives that after the backup of the primary are deleted so i can't apply get them. The only way is to restore those files. But i can't every time do this!
My database was replicating from about two months without problems. Then we activate it for test and now i rebuilt it but now having problems i mentioned above.
I have followed the same procedure.
I was guessing why i'm getting that error. How can it be solved? I see that on the primary site sometimes more than one archive processes are activated. I was wondering if on the standby site on rfs process was enough to handle all archives arriving at the same time. If not is it possible to activate more rfs'?Long postings are being truncated to ~1 kB at this time.

I am willing to bet it is not linksys. Most likely it is your service provider blocking p2p.
This is a major battle with service providers. If you do some research on this you will see what I am talking about.

  • Satellite M70: WLAN connection lost

    Hello!
I have Satellite M70 and I use integrated Intel WLAN card 2200bg. I have the latest drivers downloaded from Toshiba web site and Asus WLAN router w520g with latest firmware. Connection signal is excellent but sometimes actually very often connection is lost for 5-10 seconds.... I am downloading files all the time so there is no idle time in network traffic.
How can I inspect what is reason for losting connection?
Could authentication method or channel mode be a reason for problems?

    Hi!
I updated my driver(latest one from intel website) and problem still exists. But now with Intel Wireless utility I can see error messages when connection goes down. I also opened support case to Intel about this problem. Let's see what they suggest.
I have also tested different kind of variations of configurations (power settings etc.) but no helps!
Now I am testing WLAN connection without authentication and it seems to work ok without connection lost. I will test different kind of authentication methods because i really want to see what authentication causes problems.
One thing I can say more. If I want to see connection break as soon as possible, I have to generete traffic with different kind of p2p programs and I also ping my router (default gateway) with command ping -t -l 1500 same time.

  • Trackpad & Connection Lost Issue

I'm not sure whether this post belongs in the connectivity area or this one, but since I'm not trying to connect anything I think it belongs here. My laptop started to concern me today as my trackpad started to act up. I have been experiencing episodes where the trackpad pretty much shuts down. I can still move the cursor with it, but I cant click on anything on the screen. I can still use the keyboard to do commands in MacOS so its not my computer freezing. It can last for anywhere in between 30 seconds and 3 minutes. It is fixed automatically by the screen showing the picture of a mouse and saying connection lost like there is a wireless mouse trying to connect to the laptop. There are no wireless devices, anyone know whats going on?

First of all I'd make sure that bluetooth is turned off (use System preferences/Bluetooth to do this). It may be that a nearby bluetooth capable device (like many mobile phones) is causing interference.
If this doesn't fix it try a PRAM reset. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
If this doesn't fix it , then try an SMC reset http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1411
If still no joy its is possible that a hardware issue is involved.
    Cheers

  • SQL*LOADER script with ORA-03135: connection lost contact error

    Hello,
I got a really strange problem with a script that transfer data from a database to an other. Each day we recieve the raw data in zipped txt files, then we feed it to the database with SQL Loader. This worked fine until two weeks ago. At first, I thought the error must have been in the script, but it didn't change at all since 3 months. And the weirdest thing is that sometime it works without any problems, but now I get almost anytime the "ORA-03135: connection lost contact" and it seems to happen randomly. It never fails at the same place , thought the data I feed the script is always the same.
I'm new to SQL*Loader and since the script seems to send all the data, I don't understand where that error come from. Can I do something on my workstation or the problem is on the database server ?
I think the problem would be that the connection get a timeout out on the server, but we never got that problem on the production server and it has a lot more data to transfer then my little test script.
Have you any idea on whjat the problem could be ?

    03135, 00000, "connection lost contact"
// *Cause:  1) Server unexpectedly terminated or was forced to terminate.
//          2) Server timed out the connection.
// *Action: 1) Check if the server session was terminated.
//          2) Check if the timeout parameters are set properly in sqlnet.ora.I would suspect networking issues external to sqlldr & Oracle

You are right, i added the complete error
By chance do yo have a recommendation where can i look for to find the source problem?
Because in oracle client's logs or database's logs i can't find the ORA-03135 : connection lost contact

  • FIM 2010 Sync Error : stopped-database-connection-lost

    Hello everyone,
a weird thing just happened to me,
i'm synchronizing my MA and suddently i get the "stopped-database-connection-lost" error
i have 5 Galsync MAs working perfectly and this sixth one just failing ... (since like today)
which makes me wonder what is happening ... ?
    any ideas ?
    thanks !
    Hitch Bardawil

    Hitch,
Look in the event log on the FIM Sync Server and on the SQL Server.
This error occurs when FIM can't contact the SQL Server that hosts the FIMSynchronizationService database.
Does this happen every time the sixth MA is run? What if you run them in a different order (might help us distinguish between a resource issue and something specific to that MA)?

    Hi there,

  • Firewall connection lost error when opening the so...

    Hi Friends,
    I've a Nokia N73 edition with me..
i am planning to update the latest firmware.
The problem i am facing when opeing the Software updater is ....
    Network connection lost..
Check your network connection or a firewall is preventing from working properly...
Please lwet me know how to get rid of this and update the latest firmware to my mobile
    Cheers,
    Suneel.V

In case any one else has this problem... I was getting the same error without any firewall enabled and a high speed link. After tracing the network packets I noticed that the application was in fact communicating with NSU but that there appeared to be a problem with the creaton of a secure session between the application and the server. The error message tries to help but can really send you on a wild goose chase looking for firewalls etc.
In my case the reason was due to my PC having an incorrect system date and time.
I set the date and time and bingo, no more error.

  • When I try and make a FaceTime call, it always says, 'Connection Lost'. Help?

I was trying to FacceTime my friend and it was the usual screen that you get when you recieve a FaceTime call. I hit 'Accept' and it says connecting but, it always ends up saying, 'Connection Lost' or 'FaceTime Failed'. When I try and FaceTime them back it says connecting but again, says 'Connection Lost' or 'FaceTime Failed'. And help on what to do?

There have been numerous reports of FaceTime connection issues for the last few days and it is unclear what the cause is. Following is one of many discussions of the issue: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6096640?start=120&tstart=120

When trying to connect to Ipad  from another distant Ipad , it does not connect, neither does the ringer sound.  I have tried at home using my Iphone to ipad as well trying to connect facetime, still connection failure on ipad.   ipad to iphone over wifi at home with a good signal, no response on ipad except - connection lost giving the call back or cancel options.  nothing received on iphone. i have tried putting 8.8.8.8 in the wifi setting on the dns as some website suggested .  when i use my iphone to connect to ipad via face time the ipad opens facetime with ringer - accept does not open dialogue and eventually comes up with connection lost, meanwhile iphone still ringing. So ipad opens facetime but does not connect.  facetime icon on ipad desktop show missed call.  Eventually Iphone says Facetime not available
    can anyone help please

I have done everything suggested except restore from my earlier backup.  Situation is still iphone rings ipad, accept on ipad does not - eventually ends with connection lost, while i phone still ringing.
the reverse from ipad to iphone never gets to iphone - but comes up with connection lost - wifi settings on ipad has dns of  n.n.n.n,8.8.8.8.
whats the renew lease setting for?
    derek
