Connection mba to av receiver pioneer VSX-322

Hi,
I'm trying to connect my mac book air (late 2011) to my av receiver pioneer VSX-322 trough a LMP "minidisplayport to hdmi converter" and hdmi cord
My av receiver will be later connected to a projector with hdmi connection. (my actual one has only a VGA connection and cannot be connected to the pioneer receiver
I want to transfer the image and audio signal from the MBA to av receiver (with sound played on the connected speakers) and the image from there to a hdmi connected projector
But the sound keep to be played on my mac book air...
Could somebody help me?
Thanks a lot

Ok,
I get the answer
(hummm...)
I only had to go into "preferences" -> "sound" -> "out" and choose hdmi instead of the mba speakers....
that was it!

I have an iphone 4S on ios 7.0.3 and am attempting to use airplay with an airplay enabled AV receiver (Pioneer VSX-53). I also recently upgraded my wireless router and the roouter is working fine with the five elements on the network. Prior to the upgrade to 7.0.3 and the router upgrade the airplay feature working fine and i was able to consistently use airplay to stream music th the AV receiver. After the upgrades the airplay icon no longer appears on my iphone or on my macbook running itunes. Any suggestion on how to trouble shoot the missing airplay icon is much appreciated.

    Hi there,
You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.
Thanks, let me know if the update helps,
    Nathan

  • Pioneer VSX-1019 Receiver Input Switches

I purchased a Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K receiver a few months ago, and have had the annoying problem of the input automatically swtiching a few seconds after being turned on. When the receiver is first turned on it will switch to the correct input for the desired input device (Blu-Ray, Cable Box, etc), but after about 5 seconds it will switch to a different input. I've checked Pioneer's website and it was no help at all. Has anyone else had this problem and know of a solution?
    Here is my system:
    Receiver:  Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K
    TV:  Samsung PN58B860YF
    Cable Box:  Scientific Atlanta 8300HD
    Blu-Ray:  Samsung BD-P1600
    VCR/DVD:  Toshiba D-VR5SU

Hello, were you ever able to resolve this problem?  I have the same Pioneer VSX-1019 receiver and am having the same issue.
I checked your previous posts and it looks like the other user's issue was related to the MultiZone function.  I turned that off on my receiver but am still having the issue.
I have my components (digital set top box, PS3 and WII) running into the receiver and 1 HDMI cable running out to my TV (Samsung UN55B8000).
If I turn just the receiver on everything is fine - the receiver stays on the input it was on when it was last turned off.  As soon as I turn the TV on however, after a few seconds the receiver automatically switches to the TV/Satellite input.  From there I have to manually switch the receiver to the correct input based on the device I'm using and it stays on that input.
Something about the TV turning on seems to be kicking the receiver to switch to the TV/Satellite input.
    Any ideas?

  • Airplay does not connect with pioneer vsx-1121 anymore

After latest iTunes update airplay function does not connect with my pioneer vsx 1121 receiver anymore. I can see the reciver in the list when I click the airplay button but it does not connect and music keeps playing trough the laptop speakers. I am running win 7 and everything worked fine before the latest iTunes update.
Any ideas what is preventing the proper connection?

I am having the same problem.  From my Ipad the pioneer vsx-1021K is visible.  It connects, sound begins then stops after 2-3 seconds.  This began in the last month.  Infuriating.   I can stream from my android to the device using double twist.  I can stream to other devices like apple tv and Android apps like "hifispeaker" (a Airplay receiver for android).
What changed?  It seems like there is something in the most recent Ipad updates?  Some interfering application?
the Ipad is using IOS 6.1.3

    Hi
I don't know if you're still having this issue but there is a way round it as I'm having the same troubles.
I've just spoken to Apple about it and found out:
    – If you have a Mac made before Mid-2011, it doesn't have a piece of hardware needed to take advantage of the 'Airplay mirroring'
    – So you can update to a later version 10.6.8+ but this won't help at all
    The way round it:
    – Download 'Airfoil' and install this
    – You can then play music from any defined source (Spotify, Quicktime etc) through your Airplay connected speakers
So sadly, for those have a Mac from before Mid-2011 there's isn't an option that's as easy as Option-click on the sound icon to switch to Airplay speakers.
Hope that helps, I can now get on with the rest of my day now after sorting this out.

  • Airplay problems continue under Mountain Lion, iOS 6, Pioneer VSX 1021 K

There's several threads about getting previously working VSX 1021 models to play Airplay music here, and elsewhere on the internet.  For some, turning of IPv6 worked.  For some updated iOS or iTunes worked.  For some, turning off Multicast or the IGMP Proxy in the router worked.  For me, nothing has worked.
When initially got the receiver and was using iOS 5.x on my iPhone, the receiver could be off, and selecting it as an Airplay source would boot it, pause for a few seconds while it did so, then play music.  It also worked fine from my computer.  Now months later, many iOS updates later, it rarely works.  Sometimes I can get it to work if I turn on the receiver, set it to HMG mode, then turn on my iPhone or iTunes, then select it as a source, then click play.  Often this does not work, or I need a TV on connected to the receiver, or turning the receiver off then on again will work.  However there's obviously something wrong, and something that I'm not noticing.
If I turn the VSX on and put it in HMG mode, then play Airplay to it from any device, it will switch to the Now Playing screen and say connected to the network.  The track title does not come up, the album artwork does not come up, the progress bar does not advance (although it does on the iPhone or in iTunes).  If you deselect the VSX as the Airplay source, play a new song, then select the VSX as the source again, the TV screen updates, but with the _previous_ info, ie the first song title, and the album artwork for the last song I tried to play.  It still never plays.  It's almost comical how confused it is: my iphone is playing Smashing Pumpkins set to the VSX as Airplay source, the TV shows Aesop Rock is the song title playing, and the album art is a Tool cover.
I'm at a loss.  I think with Lion, iOS 5 and iTunes 10.x this would work again.  As it stands, I have a new phone that has to run iOS 6, and my computer is updated to Mountain Lion and iTunes 11.  My receiver, which used to be so boss (walk in the door with headphones, unplug them and select the VSX and after a brief pause the music would keep playing, nice!), is now just such a disappointment.  Any thoughts?
    Thanks for reading,

In case you all didn't find the resolution to the wired/wireless issue here it is.  I too have Verizon FIOS and experienced the same exact symptoms as described above (except that I have a Pioneer VSX-1122 and not a Denon).  Simply disabling IGMP Proxy immediately fixed all of my problems.  Not sure why everything worked fine to begin with and then stopped but in any event, it's resolved.
If using a Verizon Actiontec router .... on the router, go to Advanced (accept the warning) and go to the IGMP Proxy menu and disable IGMP Proxy which should resolve the issue.  The issue here generally only presents when the AVR is wired directly to the Actiontec router and the iDevice is connected wirelessly.  Note however, that if streaming IPTV, disabling this proxy will also disable the IPTV connection, so in that case you'll need to leave IGMP enabled and place an ethernet switch between the Actiontec and the rest of the network.

  • Mountain lion problems connecting to tv through receiver

Things start out fine - I power up the Mac Mini, it sees my Vizio TV through my Pioneer VSX 1022-K receiver no problem (HDMI all the way through).
I turn off the tv for a while, and come back and turn the TV back on.
I see one of four things:
Sometimes, it still works fine (but not very often).
"No signal" on the TV.  Power off and on the TV and receiver in every combiniation ever, still no luck.
Blue screen, this is rare, but sometimes it's just a blue screen.  I can't do anything though with a mouse or keyboard.
White noise.  Again, I can't do a thing.  This is also rare.
When 2-4 happens, I also lose the ability to VNC into the mac mini using Real VNC from Windows (it just stays at "connecting...").  In Mountain Lion, without this problem, I VNC right in in less than a second (after entering the PW, of course).
Sleep is disabled, screensaver is disabled. As I said, it's random; sometimes it's fine, other times it's broken.
The ONLY fix when this happens is to hard power off and turn it back on.  Obviously not what I am wanting to do with my brand new mac mini.  I am about to throw this thing against a wall, or maybe return it, lol.
With Lion, this did not happen (although I had plenty of other problems).
I do not think it has to do with sleeping, because sleeping is disabled...  So what else could be the issue?   I've heard EDID issues, but I have no clue where to begin to fix that.
APPLE - PLEASE FIX YOUR BUG AND HELP.

    Thanks.

If your Vizio has audio return capability via HDMI, you could do it that way...although I'm not sure it would pass anything more than 2-channel stereo from the TV back to the receiver.  It's not a feature that my TV is capable of, so I can't speak to its real-life application.
If your TV doesn't support ARC, you can buy a TOSlink cable to run digital audio from your mini to your receiver.  Check monoprice for some good deals on those cables.  I got one for less than five bucks.
It's a bit of a dance, but you would need to switch your audio output between HDMI (when you want the audio to come out of your TV) and TOSlink (when you want it to go to your receiver).  There are applescripts that can automate this so that you just double-click a link and it performs the switch.  I am running this exact setup in my house for the times when I want to watch a movie but everyone's asleep so I can't run my receiver.

  • Airplay & Pioneer VSX-1021

When trying to use the Airplay function on the Pioneer VSX-1021 receiver, I am given an error message...."An error while connecting to airplay device VSX-1021. An unknown error occurred (-15000)"  and the music will not play on the receiver.
I updated my itunes on my PC to version 10.4.1.10 and made sure the firmware on the receiver is up to date.  And I am still having problems.
I purchased the receiver about 1 month ago.
Can you please offer any advice?
    thanks,
    Brett P.

I have some other issues with the VSX 1021 ...
    1) When playing over Airplay, the music stops on the VSX, when looking on the iTunes app on my iPad, the AirPlay connection was dropped. re-selecting the receiver as an AirPlay device solves the silence.
    (not AirPlay related)
    2) I do not seem to be able to set the volume louder than -20 dB using the iControlAV app
    3) I cannot find the iControlAV iPad app (seen it in a Review Video on the internet)

  • Airplay with Pioneer VSX-1021 (0dB Issue)

So sometimes when I start Airplay on my Pioneer VSX-1021 the receiver volume goes to 0dB (Which is extremely loud, I usually listen around -30 or-25dB) without me doing anything. It did it once when I adjusted the volume in iTunes while using Airplay but other then that it has only been when I first start Airplay.
I was wondering if anyone else has been getting any problems like this?
    Thanks,
    Matt

  • IPad+AirPlay vs. Pioneer VSX-1021-k

I have a 1st Gen iPad and a Pioneer Reciever purchased last week. I have the reciever connected via Ethernet and know that it works. I have the iControlAV2 app and can control the functions of my reciever via the wireless network. I bought the receiver understanding that I could play songs from my iPad using AirPlay. The problem is that the AirPlay icon is missing from the 'music' app on my iPad. I have tried the 'resets' and updates that i have found through Google. I also know that my reciever has the current firmware. SO, here is the question, can anyone help me?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hey big,
I had the same problem with my Pioneer VSX-1021-k and my iPhone 4s. I bought the receiver 2 months ago specifically for the air play function and other specs. I recently got my iPhone 4s, download a couple of itunes on it and play it on my iPhone. I can use the IControlAV2 apps well but when I was playing itunes on the iPhone the AirPlay icon was not showing up. I restart both the phone and the receiver and it didn't make any difference. I check else where on the internet and saw similar complain and they blame the wireless router. Fortunately for me I had two wireless router in my house so I try the other on and it worked very well.
After that I tried the first router and it didn't work again so I eventually went to the second wireless router and the airplay worked fine. The icon showed and I was able to play all my itunes through the receiver.
Therefore I recommend changing your router. I'm now using a Cisco DPC2325 which was supplied with my internet connection. Previously I was using a D Link DIR655 and this one didn't work with AirPlay.
    I hope this helps!
    Cheers

  • How to connect apple tv 2 to pioneer pdp s35

How do I connect apple tv 2 to pioneer pdp.s35 tv? I connected to one of my pioneer receiver's hdmi ports but when I cycle through the inputs I can't find apple tv.  Thanks.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
I don't have or indeed know anything about your receiver, but unless the Apple TV can see an active device and connect via HDMI it won't turn on. You will need to set your receiver to use the correct input and then turn on the Apple TV.

I would suggest that you connect the Pioneer to the AirPort Express Base Station using an optical digital audio cable that has a TOSlink connector on one end and a 3.5 mm optical connector (Mini Plug) on the other. You can then connect the Mini Plug end into the AirPort's audio port and the TOSlink end into one of the Pioneer's optical digital audio ports.

  • Apple TV & Pioneer VSX-1021k

    Hi,
I use my pioneer VSX-1021k to watch TV at home. (It's a Stereo)
The problem is when I connect the Apple Tv to a HDMI connection I get a scrambled screen. Is there a way to get this to work?
Do these 2 products work together?
I know that the VSX-1021k stereo already has airplay however I think I should be able to connect and see the menu on the appleTV at least.
    Thanks for any help,
    Bmcc81

The problem lies inn the HDMI interface.  Check your HDMI settings for the Pioneer and make sure the output to the HDTVis set to 1080i not 1080P. Also make sure your HDMI input for the ATv is labeled and activated within the VSX set-up menu.
The difference is in the scan line reproduction: I=interlaced; P= progressive scan. The ATv is equip'd to handle "up to" 1080P.  I use the Atv thu a Integra Rcvr with an old 1080i Mitsubishi with no problem.
Most "average" movie watchers could not tell i from P unless viewing side-by-side and you will still get all the kick-*** sound benefits of HD thru you rcvr.  Good Luck

  • Pioneer vsx-527

    Hi,
I bought a pioneer vsx-527 amplifier with airplay to use with my iPad.  This worked well up to some days ago.  Now, iPad recognise the amplifier send music during 55sec and stop.  The level button on iPad doesn't control the amplifier volume no more.  I try it with iTunes and Spotify...  I reset the iPad, reinstall it, installed the new firmware on the amplifier... Same result !
The iPad work well with airportexpress and the amplifier work well with my iPod (ios 4)
Somebody experienced the same problem ?
    Thanks

    Hi Nick,
How is the Homehub connected to the D-Link? Could you give a bit more detail to explain which devices are connected to each router and how? Can any devices on your network see the HDD?

Use Lion Recovery to repair the startup disk if necessary, or reinstall the Mac OS X.
