Connection to WPA Enterprise WiFi gets dropped

Hi!
Currently I am experiencing a problem with the WiFi connection at my Uni.
The Uni WiFi is WPA2 Enterprise with MS PEAP, my X220 connects to the network and I can use the network so the setup should be OK. But after a few minutes the connection is dropped and not reconnected.
The system details are:
OS: Win7 64bit
WiFi Radio: Intel 6205 Advanced WiFi Driver version is 14.00.1000
Could someone please give me some suggestions what to look for?
Thanks!!
locdan

Try updating the WLAN drivers and see if it helps.

  • Wifi drops constantly on WPA enterprise wifi on my campus

    Hello,
    I own a macbook pro retina mid 2012 on maverick. The wifi drops constantly on campus, it's a WPA enterprise wifi. The wifi seems to work fine at home. My computer has been sent to an apple store twice for this issue already, I got it back but it is still not working and i spent more than 3 hours on the phone with apple trying to solve that issue. They made me run a lot of stuff, got me to send them files so that their engineers could work on them.
    Bottom of the story, they tell me that the problem must come from my university wifi, a wifi network used by 50 000 students every single day and everyone is fine with it ...
    I have been to the computer help desk on campus and they had no idea what to do.
    So please if anyone has any hint, i would greatly appreciate as I lost faith in apple "engineers" and their skills.
    Thanks guys.

    Hi  ,
    Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!
    I came across your post about the Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your HP ENVY 15-k233ca Notebook and issues with the WiFi dropping constantly. Try this fix.
    Go to device manager,the Network adapters WiFi driver properties power management
    Allow this computer to turn off wifi to save power, uncheck it and restart the Notebook. Hope this helps. Thanks.

  • Why does the WPA Enterprise Wifi Network not get displayed?

    I wanted to connect to the wifi of my university via eduroam and was not able to even get the eduroam network displayed in the list of Wifi networks. I'm sure that it was there, because I tried it on several spots and my laptop was always able to find it and connect to it. Could it be that WPA Enterprise is not supported? It's quite standard already, isn't it?
    There would be a second option to connect to an open network and add a VPN tunnel, but I could not find any vpn-Application for Firefox OS.
    Did I oversee something or is there really no possibility to access any of my university networks?
    I am using an Alcatel One Touch Fire (German language set) with current Firefox OS 1.1.0.0-prerelease

    It seems to me that WPA Enterprise is not currently enabled in Firefox OS.
    There are several bugs regarding this feature, among others: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=790056
    Regarding VPN, there is a recent thread, which also indicates that this feature is not currently supported. See the discussion here:

  • WPA-Enterprise WIFI dropping after IOS 6 Upgrade

    We use WPA-Enterprise authentication for our WIFI and since upgrading to IOS 6 the connection needs to be reautenticated everytime the iPad is unlocked.  This is a major inconveience.  With IOS 5 you only autenticated one time and whenever you unlocked your iPad you were already connected.
    These are the required settings which IOS 6 still automatically navigates, but it doesn't maintain the login name and password (which autheticates to a RADIUS server):
    Network Authentication: WPA-Enterprise
    Data Encryption: AES or TKIP
    EAP method: PEAP
    Inner EAP method: MS-CHAP v2
    Check Use Windows user name and password
    Uncheck Validate Server certificate

    It is forgetting the network everytime the iPad sleeps - even when it doesn't require an unlock passwod.

  • WiFi Connection Problems WPA-Enterprise

    I am having an issue connecting to our WiFi at work using my Lumia 900.  I can connect to the network, but then it disconnects after about 15 seconds.  My Home and other Wifi networks do not exhibit this problem.
    Any Ideas?

    My Lumia 800 doesn't connect to WPA-ENT too! work wifi! My office network uses WPA-Ent and not WPA2-Ent. but Lumia 800 searches Access point but doesn't give option of editing the security type. Is this normal? if so, does Lumia-800 ever gonna connect to WPA-Ent access point?

  • 802.1X Authentication fails when connecting to WPA Enterprise using Leopard

    I'm trying to connect to an office WiFi network with my MacBook Pro which has 10.5.1 installed.
    There are instructions on how to connect using Tiger which are very simple:
    1. Enter network name
    2. Wireless Security: WPA Enterprise
    3. Enter domain credentials for username and password fields
    4. 802.1X Configuration: Automatic
    There are at least two people here using Tiger that can connect using these instructions.
    I've tried the same thing with Leopard and keep getting an error dialog stating "802.1X Authentication has failed."
    I've also tried fiddling with the 802.1X tab under "Advanced" (I know the protocol is PEAP), but no matter what I get the same error.

    Turns out I was not authorized to use the WiFi. IT got me setup and everything works now.

  • Cannot switch between WPA2 and WPA Enterprise WiFi locations.

    Hello Everyone,
    I have two Wifi locations I use, a WPA2 and a WPA Enterprise. When I switch locations from one to the other it looks as if that the Airport express resets but does not let go of the active location. I have to manually turn airport off and then on again to have it kick in. Anyone experience this and have a work around?
    Thanks in advance,
    K.

  • MacBook Pro 15" Not Connecting via WPA-Enterprise

    My company just added an WPA-Enterprise based wireless router, I can connect to it fine with my iPad/iPhone, I've also connected an Android device and Windows XP & Windows 7 computers to it with no issues (the Windows boxes belong to other users on the network), but I can't seem to connect my Mac to it. It asks for credentials (like a WPA-Enterprise connection should), but then it doesn't seem to hand-off the credentials properly. Since this network is in it's early life at my company (and because my MBP is an unsupported platform), I'm not getting much help from the office (don't gripe, it's the way it is). Any ideas as to why I can't connect via my MBP when it's so easy to connect via all my other platforms?

  • Mountain Lion won't connect to WPA-Enterprise

    Configuration: Macbook Pro (8,2) running OS X 10.8.3.
    My office's "IT Guy" changed our Wifi network recently, with the surprise side effect that the Mac users are now offline, including me.  The odd thing is that my iPhone connects very nicely, as does my Windows (Bootcamp).  When I'm booted into Windows and connected, here is the information I can glean from the network manager:
    Security Type: WPA-Enterprise
    Encryption Type: TKIP
    NW Authentication Method: PEIP
    He suggested I buy a little USB stick that would connect me, but that is over my "lame-ness" limit.  The fact that the iPhone can connect but the Macbook can't is a little worrisome.  Do I have any hope, assuming that firing the IT Guy and buying the USB stick are both off limits?

    I had a similar situation happen to me today. Connecting to an Enterprise WPA2 network, and it authenticated correctly via PEAP (MSCHAPv2) but still would not show a good Connected status.
    What seemed to work was to go into Network preferences, click the Advanced button, Select TCP/IP tab, and click Renew DHCP Lease.
    Not sure why the MacBook did not connect, while the iPhone did, but this seemed to give the connection a good Connected status and the exclamation point on the WiFi network went away.
    And it's been 15 minute and the user has not come back to bug me again!

  • Power Mac G4 won't connect to WPA Enterprise

    At the university that I work at we are updating our wireless network to use WPA Enterprise only, instead of WEP 802.1x and WPA Enterprise. The computer that I am having problems with is our test machine for writing connection documentation for the students, faculty, and staff. I can get the computer to access the network trough WEP 802.1x but not WPA Enterprise. The computer will start the connection process and then fail and not connect to the network.

    First, make sure you have at least these versions of the Airport software:
    107795- AirPort Card: When You Can Join a WPA Network
    Then read this article about set-up, including WPA Enterprise:
    107921- AirPort for Mac OS X 10.3 or later: Using different types of wireless security (WEP and WPA)
    "For a school or business, WPA Enterprise can provide each user with unique credentials. WPA Enterprise uses the same security as WPA Personal, but with the added measure of individual usernames and passwords (WPA Personal uses a shared password). Each wireless base station communicates with a RADIUS server to authenticate the user's credentials."
    "You may need the help of a network administrator to join an 802.1x network."

  • TS1398 Our work connection to WPA-Enterprise now drops after about 5 minutes.

    The wifi now has to be constantly reconnected.  This only started happening after the IOS 6 update. Is nobody else experiencing this?

    It turned out the problem apparently was that Apple dropped support for TKIP encryption.  My problem was just with WPA\WPA2 Enterprise authentication.  By replacing TKIP with AES the problem went away.  I don't know if this was an undocumented change but a lot of users have been effected.

  • Can't connect to WPA protected wifi. Prompt says choose a certificate OR enter account name and password? Huh

    I cannot connect to wifi using my MacBook, my phone and Xbox work but there is no prompt for the WPA password and when I go to the diagnostics page it prompts me to choose a certificate or enter an account name and password? What account name are they referring to? I have entered everything I could think of; the actual connection name and password, the Internet provider login email, my MacBook account name as password... What the heck. After I try, it says connecting for awhile, then fails...

    Select the network from the Airport icon drop down in the menu. Then put in the password.

  • Cannot connect to wpa protected wifi using netcfg

    This is the setting in networkmanager's nm-applet and it connects flawlessly. http://i.imgur.com/5VuL6.png
    I tried doing the same configuration in netcfg and this is my config file.
    CONNECTION='wireless'
    INTERFACE=wlan0
    SECURITY='wpa-configsection'
    ESSID="my essid"
    IP='dhcp'
    CONFIGSECTION='
    ssid="essid"

    group=CCMP
    pairwise=CCMP
    identity="foobar"
    password="pass"
    priority=1
    phase2="auth=MSCHAPV2"
    I killed wpa_supplient & started it with option to log to a file by
    wpa_supplicant -u -f /var/log/wpa.log -B
    Now, just to check whether wpa_supplient is still working perfectly, I restarted networkmanager and checked whether I was able to connect to the wifi & I was able to do it.
    I stopped the networkmanager & ran "netcfg up mywifi" & I got nothing in the logfile of wpa_supplient & got a simple message saying "WPA Authentication/Association Failed"..
    If I switch on debugging, I get
    [root@archlinux shadyabhi]# NETCFG_DEBUG="yes" netcfg up dwifi

    What's up here?

    Probably too late to respond on this, but I had the same pattern in my debug output. This is how I solved it:

  • When using Parallels for Windows 7, I cannot connect to Wi-Fi. I get drop down menu "Real Network Adapter Thunderbolt Bridge used by Virtual Adapter 1 is not connected to the network". How do I fix?

    When I try to connect to internet wirelessly (Parallels/Windows 7 on my Mac Pro) I get a drop down that says "Real Network adapter thunderbolt bridge used by virtual adapter 1 is not connected to the network". I can not figure out how to connect - any help is appreciated!

    Since you are having trouble with Parallels or Windows, did you ask in their respective support forums? If not, you might want to consider doing so.

  • Wifi gets dropped intermittently when Mac logs on to WLAN

    Hi everyone,
    Our home network is PC-based, with a Win XP PC physically connected with an Ethernet cable to a Philips modem/router and a PC and Mac laptop using wireless connections.
    When only the two PCs are on, the connection is spotless, but as soon as I turn on the Mac, the connection begins dropping intermittently, even if Airport shows all four bars. Even the desktop connection becomes spotty despite the physical connection. It only happens when the Mac's on and (trying to) connect to the wlan. When a second PC laptop logs onto the network, no problems either.
    When the connection works, it works very well - then nothing for a few seconds to a few minutes - I keep hitting refresh and the connection just starts working again.
    I've tried changing the wifi channel, turning off IPv6, MAC filtering, turning the router on and off, entering DHCP manually... nothing seems to work.
    It doesn't seem to be related to the general Leopard WiFi problem reported by a lot of other users because the connection on my MacBook is fine when I use it elsewhere or connect to the Internet via Bluetooth with my mobile phone. This only happens at home so I figure it HAS to be a configuration problem somewhere!
    I also have the same connection problem when I physically connect the Mac to the router - full signal, but no working connection!
    What am I doing wrong? Is there some setting on the Mac or the modem/router that isn't set up right (I'm guessing there is.) I'm a new Mac user and it's a bit frustrating to have this problem (and that's putting it lightly!)
    Thanks for any help!

    Guess this doesn't inspire anyone. No ideas? Or leads?
    I'm pretty good at following instructions, but I don't have any formal IT knowledge so I really must be doing something wrong and it's very frustrating.
    Somehow the Mac seems to be disrupting bandwidth because all machines are affected! But I just can't figure out why or how to fix it.
