Consignment Deliveries: Handling Unit Changes to Non Assigned HU

Hell Experts,
We are having an issue with the consigment deliveries. After doing the PGI, the handlling unit assignment changes to Non Assigned Handlling Unit.
Situation Before PGI:
VEKP-VBOBJ = 01
VEKP-VBOBLKEY = <Delivery Number>
After PGI: (Movement Type Used is 631)
VEKP-VBOBJ = 12 (Non Assigned handlling Unit)
VEKP-VBOBJKEY = <Delivery Number>
The handlling unit is assigned to the delivery but the field VBOBJ changes to 12. We could see the handlling unit in the delivery but the assignement is not 01. Logically, the field VBOBJ should be 01. (Because we are able to see these HU in delivery).
If I reverse the PGI, then VBOBJ again changes to 01. Also, if I pack all the material into one HU and leave another HU empty then after PGI, VBOBJ for empty HU is 01 but for packed HU it is 12 (with VBOBJKEY = Delivery Number)
I don't know why the assignment is 12? Are we missing anything?
Thanks,

are u already solved this issue ? can u please tell me how to solve it ? and I  why the assignment turns into 12 ?
thanks
regards
Henny

  • Handling Unit Change Document does not exist

I have created a Handling Unit and made changes to the Handling Unit. When I go into HUMO > GOTO > Chnge docs, the screen is blank. Further to this if I display the status of the Handling Unit, the change documents is not ticked. Basically, I would like to see all change documents relating to a Handling Unit. Your assistance is appreciated. Txs Poobie

    Hi,
You've checking the @ correct place to see Change Documents but why you're not able to see those ?
Are you sure that you've changed HU?
Check if any 'Data Changed' exists in Tab-General Info of HU. If any Changed  Date & By exists, then it should display in Change Docs.
    Revert back.

  • Deliveries---Handling  Unit

    hi all,

    hi ,
i checked the Table which u mentioned.
If i give the Delivery number and check for the Handling Unit number,  its not giving the same handling Unit number which we see in the delivery.

  • LM46: Error Target handling unit NNN is not assigned to TO MMM.

In LM46, if we select the material with F1, it works.
If we initialize o_ltap_kzqui = 'X' in the User Exit EXIT_SAPLLMOB_480 we get the error.
Is there an issue about that?

It seems we can't simulate an automatic F1 for the article selection... too bad!

  • Handling Unit not being assigned to TO for an outbound delivery

    Hi All
When I create a TO for an outbound delivery then a handling unit is not being assigned to the TO.
I cannot confirm the TO as it complains about the non assignment of HU.
I have done the following so far:
    1. Set up a default packing material w.r.t WhNo and movement type.
    2. Defined a packing group and then assigned the packing group to the packing material.
    3. Set 1 to the indicator for automatic HU creaion in customizations for automatic HU creation.
Is there something I am missing in the configuration?
    Any suggestions would help.
    Thanks,
    Arup

    Hello,
HU never get assign at the time of creation of TO. You can assign pick HU at the time of confirmation of TO. There are two ways
Use transaction code LH01 and assign pick HU
          OR
(ii)Or at the time of confirmation of TO click on pack tab and complete the packing

  • Handling Unit Error

    Hi All,
The scenario is STO from Plant(2003) to Plant(2002) within company and sales from Plant 2002 to customer.
    VA01(Plant2002-no stock)->ME21N->VL10B(with HU-from Plant 2003)->VF01(JEX)->MIGO(GR w.r.t delivery,selecting via.HU)> VL02N-from Plant 2002(with same HU of Plant 2003)-> VF01.
When i am doing the outbound delivery from Plant 2002(with same HU of Plant 2003), iam getting the following error.
Handling unit 1000000023 has status 0040 - No Assignment to outbound delivery
    Message no. HUDIALOG141
    Diagnosis
While processing an outbound delivery, you can only assign handling untis that are currently in stock. This includes handling units with status '0020' = (stock not at HU STORAGE LOCATION) and '0030' (stock at HU STORAGE LOCATION).
Handling unit 1000000023 that you selected has a current status of 0040,
    System response
Handling unit 1000000023 cannot be assigned to this outbound delivery.
    Procedure
If the handling unit has status '0001' (planned) or '0010'-'0011' (realized), check whether you have to post goods receipt for the handling unit. If the stock is already in the warehouse, you can change the status manually by choosing 'Process handling unit'.
    Kindly help me.
    with regards

    Hi Azeez,
I hope you are trying to pack the material in already used HU.
In your scenario, initially plant 2003 used a HU to deliver the goods to plant 2002. now after doing GR in 2002, you are PGI ing from 2002. You can only use existing HU's that are available for packing in plant 2002. If you try to use HU of plant 2003, if it is not defined in plant 2002 system won't allow to use it.
    Thanks

  • Handling unit output determination questions

I have configured a new output type for a custom label we need to implement for handling units.   It is assigned as V6, for Ship-to Party/Shipping Material.
In VL01N or VL02N, I am able to create the handling units and pack the delivery line item materials into them.
I am able to manually assign the output type to the handling unit in VL01N/VL02N, but have not been successful in getting the output type to auto populate.  I have verified that it is not populated after packing the HU and saving from VL01N, or when doing from VL02N, or after PGI.
I have been searching the forums and have not found the answers I need.
    1.  Is it possible for the output type to automatically populate for a handling unit?  If so, at what point should this happen?  I would think based on how our custom label output types for delivery documents behave, it would assign after save from either VL01N or VL02N.
    2.  When I create the HU, I specify a VERP packaging material number that represents the carton in order to create the HU.  I do not have the material on the sales order or delivery as a line-item, and I am not getting any error messages indicating that it should be.
If this should work the way we expect it to, any suggestions on what I have overlooked that would prevent my output type from automatically assigning?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Dave

    Hi Joan,
Thank you for your answers.  They were most helpful.  I was finally able to get the new Output Type to assign after I created the HU's and saved the delivery.
Hopefully you won't mind if I ask some related questions.
    1.  If I went to VL02N for a delivery where I had already created the handling unit, it did not automatically get the Output Type assigned when I saved.  (Like it does for our delivery based labels when I add a user in NACE that previously wasn't identified to get the label.)   Is this the normal behavior for HU-based output or am I still missing something in my setup?
    2. I did the VHAR step and specified both the Output Determination Procedure and the Output Type of my new label,as suggested.   This did work once I finally tested by creating a new HU for a delivery, rather than checking an existing delivery/HU.  Is entering the Output Type here critical?  If another customer has a different label format, I think assigning the Output Type here this will cause a problem for us.  (I haven't had a chance to change the config to remove this and see if the Output assigns based on references elsewhere, now that I know it seems to assign only when the HU is initially created.)
    Thanks again!
    Dave

  • Handling Unit Number Range

    Hi All,
How to give external number range to a handling uni.
    The scenario is:
In HU02 screen I am giving packaging material number, material number and quantity.
Than when I press enter system automatically taking one number in the handling unit field.
But my client wants to give here an external number range not the internal number range.
How to give external number range for the handling unit?
    Regards
    Ashis

    hai,
I am also not having access to SAP currently i am giving you the following information, check this out
Assigning New Numbers for Handling Units
    Use
If, for example, you are going to deliver handling units worldwide, unique number assignment for identification of the handling units is necessary, and it is also a good idea to assign SSCC18 numbers ( see also  EAN128).
    Prerequisites
In the Customizing settings for the packaging material type, you must maintain the Handling unit type field.
In Customizing, choose Logistics General ® Handling Unit Management ® External Identification ® Define Number Assignment for Each Packaging Material Type.
Maintain the HU type for EAN128 field for the relevant packaging material type.
    Procedure
In the packing dialog, select the Pack material tab.
Select the handling unit for which you want to assign an SSCC18.
Choose Extras ® SSCC number assignment.
    Result
A new SSCC18 number is generated and automatically assigned to the handling unit.

  • Unpack Items in Handling Units

    Hi,
Is there any function modules or BAPI that can be used to unpack items in Handling Units that have been assigned to Outbound Delivery.
Most of the FMs like  BAPI_HU_UNPACK, HU_PACKING_AND_UNPACKING  supports only unassigned HUs.
Standard Transaction that can be used to unpack is VL02N and HUPAST.
    Your response much appreciated. Thanks.

  • Handling Unit Number range per delivery.

    Dear All,
Please guide me how we can configure Handling Unit number ranges so that for each delivery document, Handling numbers should be started from 01.
    Thanx in advance.
    Anup

    Dear Reazuddin,
    Thanks for your early response.
As per standard SAP functionality,  we assign a number range to handling units and system automatically assigns serial numbers to each handling unit.
But My requirement is suppose I am packing materials in a delivery document, then the handling numbers of these packs should start from 1,2,3 so on. And for next delivery also system should give me (or allow to enter) once again starting from 1 and not 04.
I hope my requirement is clear.
Please advise any solution on this.
    Any further updates please.....?
    Thanx,

  • Handling Units Configuration Steps

Can anybody please send me the step by step configuration steps for Handling Unit.
Thanks in Advace for your help.
    SUNIL

The following process chain provides an example of how Handling Unit Management can be set up for integrated implementation in the relevant SAP components
    Process Flow
    Sales and Distribution
    ·        You receive a sales order for certain materials. If you have a special agreement with the customer as to the packaging in which this material is to be delivered, you can reflect this agreement by using existing (or creating) packing instructions and a corresponding packing-instruction determination record. You can use this agreement at any point during packing. If the agreement is limited to this particular order, the information is created in the order in the form of a packing proposal.  This agreement is then also available during packing in repetitive manufacturing and in the delivery.
    ·        An availability check is run for the order items. If the system determines that the sales order cannot be filled by using the warehouse stock currently available, a requirement is created for production (in the case of in-house production) or for purchasing (in the case of external procurement).
    Production
    ·        A manufacturing order (such as a work order) is created for the respective material on the basis of the order requirement.
    ·        The raw material required for production is reserved (if it is in stock).
    Purchasing
    ·        If the raw material is not available in sufficient quantities, or if the material required for the sales order needs to be acquired externally, purchase orders are created from the requirements generated for material procurement.
    Goods receipt
    ·        The vendor notifies the goods recipient of the delivery of the goods by using a shipping notification that also contains the packaging data. The shipping notification generates an inbound delivery that includes the packing information from the shipping notification. If there is no EDI notification, the inbound delivery must be created and packed manually for the purchase order. The handling units are put away and the inbound delivery is posted for goods receipt.
    Quality Management
    ·        If the packing data is known in the inbound/outbound delivery, an inspection lot is created for these handling units and the stock is posted to quality inspection stock upon goods receipt/goods issue.
    ·        If the handling units have been put away in HU-managed storage locations, the handling units can be re-transferred since the stock is still managed through the handling unit.
    Warehouse Management
    ·        Handling units with raw materials are provided in time for production in accordance with the production requirement.
    Quality inspection
    ·        As soon as the quality inspection is complete, the stock in the handling units is posted to unrestricted-use stock or to scrap materials, depending on the usage decision.
    Inventory Management
    ·        If the production storage location is not HU-managed, the goods issue of the raw material takes place through an explicit stock posting or through the verification from production.
    ·        If the production storage location is HU-managed, the goods issue takes place either after successful staging of the materials or through explicit specification of the handling unit.
    Production
    ·        The production process is executed and the raw materials are used.
    ·        The handling units that result from this step are planned.
    ·        As a last step, the material that was produced is packed, either in production or after production. The handling units that are created in this way are confirmed as implemented. If there was no planning, the handling units are created directly as implemented handling units.
    Quality Management
    ·        If the status of the handling unit changes from planned to implemented (or changes during creation of implemented handling units from production), an inspection lot is created for the handling units.
    Inventory Management
    ·        The handling units are posted for goods receipt after verification from production (or in a separate step). Quality Management decides whether the handling unit is to be posted to unrestricted-use stock, inspection stock, or quality-inspection blocked stock.
    Shipping
    ·        An outbound delivery is created from the sales order
    Warehouse Management
    ·        Transfer orders are created for the materials to be delivered and the handling units are picked from stock. If only partial quantities of existing handling units are required, handling units are created for the picked materials.
    ·        The picked handling units are confirmed to the delivery.
    Shipping
    ·        The handling units that were picked can be repacked in the delivery. If there is a packaging proposal in the sales order, the delivery can be packed automatically in accordance with this proposal.
    ·        Goods issue is posted for the handling units.
    ·        The customer is informed through EDI about this delivery.

  • Archiving Non Assigned Handling Units

    Hello Experts,
I have a large number of Non Assigned Handling Units (Object 12) in my Production system. I want to archive them. I understand that if I delete these HU's in HU02 then their status will be updated from 0020 to 0060 and they can be archived. But what is the implication of this? Can Non Assigned HU's be used at a later stage?
One more thing I wanted to clarify is that suppose I have a HU in my Delivery. It will have object as 01 in VEKP. Now can I delete this HU after PGI or Invoice is created and once it is deleted from delivery then will it be updated to 12 object is VEKP? Basically I want to understand how Non Assigned HU's are created. Is it by just deleting from Delivery or is there any other way also.
    Appreciate your inputs.
    Thanks,
    Karan

    Hi,
a non-assigned handling unit is a free HU that is not assigned to any document and you can assign it to documents (outbound deliveries f.e. to post it to customer).
You can only have/store free HUs in your system when handling unit management is activated in your system (TVSHP-EXIDV_UNIQUE is set).
You can create non-assigned handling units with transaction hu02 f.e.
You can check in table VEKP if the HU is a free HU or not (if VEKP-VPOBJ is 12, it is a free HU).
    Regards,
    Ely

  • Handling units were changed. Cancellation no longer possible

    HI All
Iam trying to reverse goods movement using VL09 transaction code.
System shows an error "Handling units were changed. Cancellation no longer possible".
    Following is the history
Ii have a purchase order, outbound del with HU, inbound delivery with HU.
Due to some reason I have unassigned HU in inbound delivery and inb del has been deleted from system.
Then i tried to reverse the PGI doc for outbound del with tcode VL09
    Please advice
    regards
    satyaprasad

    Hi
As per your advice i tried steps(below) mentioned in SAPnotes but still Iam getting same error.
    Please advice
    1. Call transaction VL32N for processing inbound deliveries and search for the inbound delivery that is assigned to the outbound delivery which is to be reversed. For this purpose, use the search help E external delivery number of the vendor and enter "*<delivery number>" as the search criterion (the placeholder * is required because the delivery number has leading zeros).
    2. If the delivery contains handling units, go to the packaging screen. The next steps depend on whether handling unit management is active:
If handling unit management is inactive, delete the handling units of the inbound delivery.
If handling unit management is active, delete the assignment of the handling unit to the inbound delivery using the corresponding function. The handling units are then assigned again to the previous outbound delivery.
    3. Delete the inbound delivery.

  • Handling Unit assignation to sales order

    Hi you all,
I am facing with a problem when trying to create a handling unit assigned to a sales order. I want to have the functionality of transaction HUP32. The problem with this transaction is that it is possible to include only one batch in the handling unit. I want to do this process but creating handling units with more than one batch.
The other option I've tried is to create the handling unit with transaction HU02. This handling unit is created with the batches and material that I want but then I can't assign the handling unit to the sales order item.
When I create the deliveries of this sales orders with handling units assigned, the handling unit is automatically assigned to the delivery. That's the functionality I want to keep.
If anybody could help me I would thank it very much

    Multi-level Packaging in Delivery
Before creating the packaging material you have to go to:
    IMG-Logistics Execution-Shipping -Packing.
    1. Define packaging material types- it can be anything like boxes crates, etc. in this you have to maintain the output determination procedure, output type, plant determination, packaging material category, generate delivery items, number assignment. you can copy from standard also.
    2. Then go to _define material group for packaging materials_ - here you maintain the four digit code and the description. Actually, this group is nothing but similar products which require similar packing products. For Ex. Nokia Phones all types they are basically packed first into a polythene bag. So here nokia phones can become a material group for packaging materials and polythene bag can become the packaging material type which can include different sizes and types of polythene bags.
    3. _Define Allowed Packaging Materials_ - Here you assign the shipping group for packaging materials to the packaging material type. This is related to your material master data of the packaging material which you create.
Now go to MM01 to create a packaging material. use material type as Packaging material then inside the system will take the item category group as VERP.
Then in the Basic Data1 screen you have the material group for packaging material (MGPM). Select the proper one. Now in the Sales:General/ Plant screen you have to maintain data regarding the packaging. you select the MGPM same as the basic data 1 screen, then select the packaging material type, the allowed pkh weight, allowed pkg volume.
This is important because if the weight of your finished item is 2 KG and in the allowed pkg weight you enter only 1.5 KG, then while you carry out the packing process in delivery, the system will give you error," packaging weight exceeded."
The assignment in the IMG creen for Define allowed packaging materials should be same as u mention in the material master. Then save your material master for packaging material.
VA01 create the order, save it.
VL01N enter shipping point, go to edit - pack- you will face a screen with 2 parts. In the top part you select your packaging material in which you want to pack your finished item, enter the system will assign a number to that material. Now select the Material in the top part and the finished one in the lower part and click on the Icon Pack. Here one thing has to be taken care of.
Suppose if you want to pack only one finished item in one packaging material, then in the lower part of the screen you have a field for partial quantity here you change it to 1. system will prompt quantity changed. now you select the material in the top part and the one in the lower part and click on the PER PART. QTY ICON. In this way the system will pack only one finished item in a single packaging material. Packing is done go back, select the picking and do the PGI. save the delivery and create the invoice.
HANDLING UNITS. (Used for Multi level packing)
Basically handling units come into picture when you want to carry out multi level packing. suppose you want to pack Nokia phone first into a polythene bag, then this polythene bag is again packed in to box. like that. then this box will become a handling unit. For this go to :
IMG - Logistics General - Handling Unit Management - Basics.
First create all your packing materials using MM01 and type as packaging material. Maintain all the assignments in IMG in Logistics General.
In basics you do the same thing as you did in the packing in logistics execution. like you create the packaging material type, then MGPM and their assignment.
Then go to External Identification - and maintain the number ranges for the handling units that you want and assign the same to your packaging material type.
Now that you have done everything, create the order, save it, in VL01N, enter shipping point, go to edit - pack - do the same thing as i have told you in the step no. 6 (above). now after doing select the PACK HUs TAB . NOW IN THIS SCREEN IN THE TOP PART YOU WILL SEE THE ALREADY PACKED MATERIAL. In that same part again select your next packaging material that is BOX. enter the system will assign the number to the BOX.
Now select the material which you have just entered and the materials which were already packed in the lower part of the screen and click on the ICON PACK.
In the same way again in the top part of the screen you select your next level packaging material and press enter. the system will assign a number to it. now select the material you have just entered and the previously packed material in the lower part of the screen and click on the icon PACK.
In this way you can carry out multilevel packing. just take care of the allowed packing weight and the number of units you have to pack in the next packaging material.

    Anbu

  • Change Handling Unit Dimensions

    Hi,
Is there any function module to change Handling Unit Dimensions (length, height and width).
BAPI_HU_HEADER_CHANGE does not help as this FM works only for non-assigned handling units where vpobj eq 12 ,05 and 06.
    I need something for VPOBJ = 01.
    Any idea. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Why you need to change the dimension of Handling Unit ?
Dimension of Handling Units are derived from the packaging material types, if you have a packaging material type like Pallet of different dimension you should create a different packaging material type and use.
As this dimension of Handling Units is further required to calculate the Storage Bin Capacity in your warehouse.
    Please check and confirm.

    Harsh
