Consolidated libary, now libary has disappeared! help!

I have an Iphone and my husband has a nano, we run them both from the same computer under different user names. Been doing this for a long time with no problems, then decided it would be nice to be able to share music between accounts.
To do this I looked at Apples instructions and began to follow them, I consolidated my libary. Now when I open Itunes there is nothing there! Help what have I done and how do I get it back?
After consolidating I tried to move Itunes to a shared folder but don't think I did it correctly....if at all.
Sorry for the rambling post but I am in a panic that i have lost everything! Not such a technical person so don't know where to start...
Please help!!

So, to make sure we're clear on what you did, you did this:
1. Consolidated your library
2. Tried to move it to a shared drive
3. Noticed your library was empty when looking at it in iTunes
or did you:

Look in your "My Music" folder to see if the music folders are still there. Or, do a search for music files to see what is found where. Your music is still probably on your hard drive, it's just iTunes isn't looking for it in the right place.

You have one and possibly two problems.
First problem you tried to open the iPhoto library with iTunes and appeared to have set iTunes as the default app for iPhoto Libraries. That isn;t going to work.
To fix that select the iPhoto library in the Finder and do a File->Get Info. In the middle of the Info window you'll see Open With dropbox. Click on that and select iPhoto, then select the Change All button
This will get iPhoto back as the default app to open iPhoto Libraries.
Double click the library now and if nothing else is wrong iPhoto will open the library. If it does do as Michael wrote and go to the Applications folder and drag iPhoto to the dock to remake the shortcut.
However since you started this thread by saying that the iPhoto shortcut in the dock had a question mark on it it is possible that iPhoto is missing from your Applications folder. If it is post back.

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Does the dialog show "You can read and write" in the Sharing & Permissions section?
In the General section, is the box labeled Locked checked?
What is the Modified date?

Wiped all my blackberry messenger contacts and now bbm has disappeared

yet again blackberry software doing wht it wants when it wants with no warning. decided to delete all my contacts i then tried restoring my phone to a good update last week when it actuall worked and now bbm has disappeared completely ive tried restoring it again that hasnt worked all my apps in blackberry world have disappeared so trying to install a new bbm and every time i try too it just crashes roll on end of contract! any help would be much appreciated as i need a couple of the contacts that were on there

Well, actually you can speak to a support professional...but only by following your contractually-required support model. All front-line support for BlackBerry devices starts with the mobile service providers, that original places of purchase, or authorized service centers. It varies by region and issue, but you should have received, at your time of purchase (for both the device as well as your services) instructions as to how to seek formal support. If you did not receive such instructions, then shame on the seller, for it was their responsibility to provide that to you.

I created a photo book. It automatically put in the title of the book, but now it has disappeared. How can I enter the book title?

After more attemps at cropping Im noticing that the saved version is unzoomed, so if I move the zoom bar just a tad the image becomes instantly sharp. Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dock.plist
Click Go then move the com.apple.dock.plist file to the Trash.
Do the same for: ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist
Then restart your Mac.
As you have discovered, third party dock and desktop customization apps can often cause problems.

Cancelled import and now everything has disappeared!

When I tried opening iTunes today I mistakenly cancelled an import function - don't know why iTunes was doing this, as it usually doesn't. Anyway, now I have my iTunes with my music, but the tv shows I've bought have disappeared and my playlists have disappeared and I can't seem to create any new ones.

Your user folder has been renamed. It's still there. Search this forum and you'll see how to address the problem.

Downloaded RH 9 trial version and now Acrobat has disappeared

I have had Adobe Acrobat installed for years and use it all the time. Have also had RH X5 installed on the same PC all along. I downloaded the trial version of RH 9 and now find that all the icons for PDFs have changed to the icon you see when there's no application associated to the file. And if I try to open a PDF I get a message telling me the file can't be opened unless I have the application installed. And when I look in my program files in Windows Explorer, there is not longer an Acrobat folder. Is it possible that the download of RH 9 somehow wiped out my Acrobat? I have the Acrobat CD so could reinstall, but am hesitant until I understand what the problem might be.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I think you are going to need to take this one up with Adobe.
As I said much earlier in the thread, my thinking was that RoboHelp installed it's own lite version and that had somehow clobbered the full version. That said, it is not what I would expect, simply a thought as to what might have happened.
Also it is worth noting that this is the only thread I have seen about this problem.
When you installed Rh, did you elect to customise the installation and then deselect the installation of the lite version of Acrobat? If not, may that is what has caused this. I run several machines with Acrobat and installing Rh has never clobbered Acrobat.
Now that you have lost Acrobat I think you will need to also uninstall Rh, reinstall Acrobat and then install Rh as above.
If you need to come back here, knowing the version might help.

Home directory has disappeared - help!

I have just logged on to my MacBook and received a message to say that it can't find my home directory - it's just not there in the Users folder.
I am the main user (administrator). There is one other user of the computer who has an account and her folder is there, as is 'Shared' and another folder with my user ID, but with a '1' appended to the end.
What has happened - any help gratefully received...

My 2 cents, most OS X gurus will tell you not to run as an administrator. Keep one or 2 admin users on tap, one for installing/etc. and one as a "control." Run day-to-day ops as a standard user.
This is better security and keeps you from making mistakes without entering a password.
You can do this by:
1)Backing up! Always do this before making changes to your system.
2)Create 1 or 2 new admin accounts. I would make 2 new admin accounts. Name one "Control" and the other something like "Owner."
3)Log into "Owner" and change your old account to a standard user.
4)I would verify permissions at least twice after you do this to get any bugs out.
5)Restart, log in as your old (now standard) account.
Keep the "Owner" password handy for when you need to install/make changes/etc to your system.
Don't use "Control" except for just that, to see if a problem affects that account as well as other accounts.

My Photostream has Disappeared :( HELP

Last night my photo stream held 1000 photos, this morning it only holds 35, and not the last 35, just 35 random pics from throughout my photostream. It is the same on all the Ipads, Iphones and Desktop Computer.
I know that the stream only holds 1000 photos, and it recycles some through every so often, but it has never deleted all of them before.
Can anyone help with what has happened please?
Or does anyone know how to reload the pics from my camera roll back to the Stream so that I can access them on my computer again?

This could be a hardware problem. Have you checked with your service provider?
You could try running diags - I don't know if it includes a camera test but you can try it. I'm htinking you will have to get the devie replaced / repaired though.

Buy now button has disappeared

I recently upgraded my itunes software to the latest version. I have about 12 songs in my wishlist but the "buy all" button has dissapeared. Is anyone else having this problem and is there a work around other than individually purchasing songs?? Thanks!

I rent a film on apple tv now it has disappeared

I rented 2 movies for the weekend to watch when I knock on the apple tv they had disappeared. I reported the problem to apple and they said to check the time and date setting on my PC. It turns out the PC date and time setting on the PC where different to the apple TV. I have corrected this but my rental films are still gone. Any Idea how I can get them back?

No you shouldn't as long as you hadn't started to view them yet. It's 30 days, but once you press play you only have 24hrs (US) or 48hrs (elsewhere) to finish.
Go to the settings, iTunes store, check for rentals. Otherwise, contact apple.
In future, only rent one movie at a time and don't power off, watch other content until you are finished watching. Also, keep in mind if you have lower than 6mbps it will take some time before it is ready to watch.

I have an ipone 3s and always had a voicemail on it. The voicemail has dissappeard and I cant figure out how to add it back on. When someone calls it rings and rings and then after about 15 rings it says, unavailable, call back later. I dont know how to reset it. i have tried to reset network settings and that didnt work either.

You will need to contact your phone carrier, voicemail is a carrier feature.

My husband clicked something on the yellow Firefox tab at the top left corner, now it has disappeared and I can't get it back...any suggestions?? my top layout has changed because of this and my bookmark page isn't displayed either.

I'm sure its something simple to change it back to the right layout, but for the life of me I can't figure it out, and he can't remember what it was he clicked on :(

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).
