Consolidation Unit - Local Currency

Experts,
We need to change the Local Currency for a couple of Consolidation Units/Companies - What are the possible ways to achieve this ?
1. Delete all transaction data, change the settings and then reload it ?
Or is there any other better way to take care of this ?
All answers would be duly appreciated and rewarded with points.
Thanks,
Nandita

  • Local Currency in the Consolidation

    Hi BCS Guru,
Can you help me about this problem :
In BCS (SEM 400, SAP_BW 3.5) I would like to use the local currency in the profit center for consolidation method .
This local currency will be created in BW and synchronized ( tcode UGMD_SY_MD) in BCS.
In order to do this, i had the infoobjet local currency in the profit center attributes in BW and regenerated the data model in BCS (tcode UCWB).
In the workbench in BCS (tcode UCWB, Masterdata, Consolidation Units) the local Currency is defined twice ( one time in the in the tab DataEntry  and other time in the tab Other attribute )
My problem is that i don’t know how to initialized the local Currency (defined as attributes in the tab DataEntry ) with the synchronization ( tcode UGMD_SY_MD) only the local Currency in the tab Other attribute is initialized .
I need the local Currency (defined as attributes in the tab DataEntry) in the consolidation method so please could you help.
    Thanks
    Matihi

    Yes, Matihi,
it's clear now. That local currency that is sitting in the DataEntry tab is a system default one. It's not the attribute you entered (attribute is on the Others tab).
This local currency key is 0CURKEY_LC infoobject. If pressing F4 in the field for local currency of your PC brings nothing, then you need enter some values for this currency. The infoobject itself has a reference unit 0CURRENCY. 0CURKEY_LC will inherit all master data entered for 0CURRENCY.
So, all you need is to populate 0CURRENCY with currencies you need.
To do this use a usual way through SPRO t-code:
SAP Netweaver - General settings - currencies. execute those functions that seem appropriate. First of all, certainly, "Check Currency Codes" option.
Good luck and keep us posted!

  • Currency Bearing consolidation Unit

We are having Matrix consolidation and need to do all consolidation execution by profit center.
What is the benefit of giving this role to profit center than company.
Can someone explain how this helps in operation..

    Hi Venkat,
It's not a benefit. It's a must to have currency bearing unit. As I said, every record in ECC belongs to a particular company. And the system must know in which currency all amounts belonging to this company are nominated.
Here is an example of, IMHO, wrong decision of making profit center a currency bearing unit:
    Let's say we have 2 companies, C1 (local currency = INR) & C2 (local currency = EUR) and 3 PC, P1, P2, & P3. The matrix looks like following:
    ___P1_P2_P3
    C1_X__X
    C2____X___X
In this example transactions involved P2 & C1 will be nominated in INR, but P2 & C2 - in EUR.
What the local currency will you set for profit center P2, INR or EUR?

  • Impact of only balances in local currency in business consolidation

    Hi,
We are doing business consolidation based on classical GL
and extracting data for consolidation from GLT3 table.
In some cases we are not getting the transaction currency
amount for certain GL Accounts in GLT3, it is giving the same amount as Local Currency.
Is it a impact of tick only balances in local currency, if so
how do we go ahead correcting it.
    Thanks in Advance
    Phutane

    Hi,
Remove the Tick mark 'Only Balance in Local Currency' in the master record.
    This should solve the issue.

  • Amount in local currency for GRs

    Hello gurus,
can anyone please explain to me this phenomenon:
We have got a PO for 10 pieces of a material. The price is $7,40 per 10 pieces, so $7,40 total.
Someone posted a goods receipt for 7 pieces. For whatever reason the amount in local currency (Amount in LC) for that GR is $6,17.
Later, this GR was reversed using movement type 122 and a new GR for 10 pieces was posted. This time, the Amount in LC is $15,66.
Can someone please explain to me where those values come from? I cannot change the price in MIGO, can I? And if I cannot, how does the system calculate those values?
The problem is that now there is a difference between GR and invoice (correct price = $ 7,73)...
    Thanks
    Alicia

    Hi
The problem is due to non sequential operation.
    Generally,
Step 1: When GR is done after P.O , system will pick the price of P.O and Post.
Inventory (Dr)  and GR/IR ( Cr.)
Step 2 : If the IR is done after P.O and latter GR, then IR price take precedence over the P.O price.
Step 3 : If there is no stock and Partial IR is done after P.O , tehn while GR system will take partial value from P.O and Partial from P.O
    In this case.
    PO: 10 pcs., $7,40 : Unit Price is .74$
    GR (101): 7 pcs., $6,17 (incl. VAT) : Base Price 5.18 + 0.99 = 6.17$
    GR (122): -7 pcs., $6,17 (goods return)
    Till now it is o.k
    Now : IR: 1 pc., $ 7,73 (wrong IR, 1 pc instead of 10) : Unit price is 7.73$.
    GR (101): 10 pcs., = 1 pc. price from IR ( 7.73) + 9*(.86) = 15.47$
*0.86 : refers to the P.O value inclusive of Tax ( assuming the Tax as 16.04)
The problem in such cases is due to in appropriate GR/IR entry .
Solution : Always Can cell all the documents last come first basis then post the document one by one.
Solution 2 : Do clear the GR/IR account through Manual JV from FI module and Change the price by MR21 entry.

  • F5061  Balance in local currency EUR is too large for automatic adjustment

My Company code currency is EUR. The customer has made a downpayment in USD (say 100) and i am now to clear the same against invoice of same amount in USD (100 $) but its is resulting into minor differences in Local currency. I am getting the following error
Balance in local currency EUR is too large for automatic adjustment
    Message no. F5061
    Diagnosis
For postings in foreign currency, it is possible that the balance in foreign currency is zero, but not in local currency. Providing the balance in local currency does not amount to more currency units than the document has line items, the system adjusts the amounts automatically. If an automatic adjustment is not possible, the amounts must be adjusted manually in local currency.
    System Response
The document is not posted in local currency without adjusting the amounts.
    Procedure
Adjust the amounts in local currency.
How can i have the system automatically fetch the Gl accounts to post the exchange rate differeces.
I have maintained the settings in FBKP- Exchange rate differenes
    Thanks & Regards
    Pooja

    Hi,
I have the same problem; my company code is defined in HUF and I am trying to post a vendor invoice in Euros.
I have a 10% maintained there and still receiving the error, either for differences of just one HUF. The strangest thing is that differences are automatically adjusted (also for discrepancies over the 10%) when posting through FB60 but not when using FB01.
    Any idea?
Thanks in advance for your input.
    Best regards.

  • Is it possible to set  Local Currency - INR in SAP B1 8.81

    Hi,
In SAP B1 Version  8.81 , i have taken Type -Chart of Accounts - as Global
and  Localization - United Kingdom  And just tell me is it possible to set
Local Currency - INR in SAP B1 8.81

    Hi,
You can set any currency till the time there is no transactions in the database.
Please do remember that the on selection of the Localization UK, the legal aspects and the tax law pertaining to the UK will be applicable and also you have to check for the exchange rate calculation based on settings (direct/indirect).
Also, taking INR as LC will lead to INR being the main currency and hence the reports generation and reconciliation of all the Multi-Currency will be performed in the Lead Currency.
    All the Best.

  • Avoid posting of realized exchange rate differences in 2nd local currency

    Dear SAP fans,
The situation here in our company is that a company code is set up with NZD as 1st and EUR as 2nd local currency (currency type 30 "Group currency" for EC-CS consolidation).
Therefore, all postings (and balances) are also translated and saved in EUR (with the current exchange rate).
We now have an open item managed G/L account for prepaid expenses, which is used to collect postings which are then cleared later. It's however no payable/receivable account for vendors/customers. Therefore, it doesn't make sense to post realized exchange rate differences when clearing this account. This is however what SAP wants to do when we try to clear it.
For example, if I post today 100 NZD and two months later again 100 NZD to this account. If the NZD vs. EUR exchange rate changed in the meantime, then SAP won't let me clear this account without posting realized exchange rate differences, which makes however no sense.
Does anyone of you meet this problem before? Could you please give me a hint?
I thought about setting the "Only balances in local currency" indicator in the G/L account master but this helps only for differences between local and document currency (and not for differences in 1st and 2nd local currency).
    Any help is highly appreciated!
    Thanks and best regards,
    Peter

    Dear Padma,
Thanks for your answer. The customizing activities you mentioned are already set up in the system. This is not our problem.
The problem is however, that we don't want SAP to post automatically realized exchange rate differences between 1st and 2nd local currency as this doesn't make sense in this business case.
It's about an open item managed G/L account which is used to collect posting which are later cleared. It's not a payable/receivable account for customers/vendors where the posting of realized exchange rate differences makes sense.
We've thought about several solution which unfortunately all didn't help us:
    - Don't setup realized exchange rate differences accounts or set them up only for group currency (in OB09)
    - Set indicator "Only balances in local currency" in G/L master data
    Best regards,
    Peter

  • View USD Entity in local currency in Workspace

How can I view a USD entity in local currency. I have a USD parent entity, that has 3 base child entities (MXN). Data is loaded to the base entities in MXN and translates to USD. I tried setting my POV to the parent (USD) entity and my Value member to MXN, but the parent entity shows 0. Any help would be appreciated.

So you want to see the parent entity (which is USD by default) in MXN? You'll have to manually run a translate. If you change the grid you described to show consolidation status rather than data, you should see a "TR" for Translation Needed. HFM only translates to parent currency during the consolidation, and I'm guessing the parent of this parent is also USD.
If you want to translate to MXN during the consolidation, one option would be to create an alternate hierarchy with an MXN parent and consolidate it.

    Hi,
If your company code currency is USD and you are posting few documents in CAD in April for. e.g. total amount for the month of April in currency CAD is 25,000 then
    1. If "Only balance in local currency" selected
You will not be able to see balance in CAD in FS10N for the month of April
    1. If "Only balance in local currency" not selected
In FS10N you will be able see balance in CAD currency separately for the month of April.
    Try it out.

  • Transfer Pricing Utilizing Third Local Currency in Company Code?

I was wondering whether utilizing the third local currency under the "Additional Local Currencies for Company Code" section of the IMG would not allow you to use Supply Chain going forward because that third local currency must be saved for Transfer Pricing in PCA?
I ask because we have an Company Code that's local currency is EUR, and the group currency is USD.  However, we also need this specific entity to report by GBP for consolidation with the UK entity.  Let me know if you have any questions.

Exactly prakash, but is there a consequence by not using company code currency as the local if we want to produce reporting but with the hard currency ?
What is the difference between using "local" (used day to day) currency as company code currency and using it as hard currency ? Is there an issue to convert exchange rates to produce statutory reporting ?
I hope my question is clear.
    Thanks a lot.

  • Why the Amount in local currency is always 0 for the new material in MB51

    Dear all,
Every I have a new material number and when I create GR from Purchase Order for the first time, why the "Amount in local currency" always is 0 in MB51 or display material document (MIGO), althugh Price unit is not 0 in Purchase order .
Would you like help me, please
    thanks
    imron

    Hello ,
Logically speaking ,if there is stock , then u should have the cost/price.
If u create a new material , & then the first stock is acquired via procurement , then u need not maintain the MAP/SP.
BUT , if u create a new material & need to upload some existing stock , u need to maintain the MAP/SP so that the system knows the valuation of the stock.
While doing a GR through  PO , the system picks the valuation form PO ( & also updates the material master MAP) , but for initial entry there is no reference & hence system takes the MAP from material master
    Hope this helps
    Regards
    Anis

  • MIGO - cancelled/reversed GR - Wrong Amount in Local Currency value (DMBTR)

    Hi Experts,
I have a GR with an amount in local currency of 2,205.00.
Qty in Unit of Entry = 35 EA
Qty in SKU = 35 EA
    Quantity Ordered = 3.900 EA
    Quantity Received = 2.096
Can you please tell me why the reversed GR is picking up an amount of 2,206.11(different amount) instead of 2,205.00 which is the amount of the GR that causes the imbalance on the PO. Expectation is the amount must be still 2,205.00.
How can I know where/what the program pulls that amount?
Hoping for your replies SAP Experts!
    Thank you very much!

    Hi,
When you mentioned Wrong Amount in Local Currency, do you refer to any foreign currency involved in this transaction?
    Thanks,
