When i connecting to vpn all newly added contacts deleted automatically.
What must i do to prevent such things ??

so i could have my HOA contacts in a group
NEVER give your HOA your e-mail, or your phone number, (or your street address).
Well, I guess they've already got your street address.

You're not the only one, M. Boudreau. Today I noticed that I had multiple duplicates throughout my iPhone list of contacts. Some were true duplicates with all the originals info and others were just the name and no other info. I promptly started deleting them by hand. I plugged my phone in and it synched with my computer (a PC running Windows XP with Microsoft Exchange). Then, when I went to dial someone, their contact was suddenly missing. As it stands now, all my contacts from the letter E and higher are deleted. Of course, being synched with my desktop, all I have left on my desktop now is what was left (some of A through D) on my iPhone. HELP!!!!!

Contact list deleted

My iPhone has randomly deleted my contacts list. I have not updated to OS6 and wasn't fiddling with any of the iCloud options. I went through and manually redid my contacts list and then it was deleted again. What is the problem? Will it stop if I update to OS6?

Actually, I've had the same thing happen to me with an iPhone 4S...went to make a call...phone froze...power cycled it...all contacts gone.
I can tell you, from personal experience, unless your contacts are stored in a supported application or a cloud service, that you can use to restore to your phone, they are gone.

Some of my newly saved contacts get deleted automatically... And specialised ringtones for my contacts are reset to default.. It happens quite often..

Contact list deleted after ios update

This is the craziest thing I ever imagined . My whole conytact list is gone after ios update ..

Alas, in other Symbian smartphones I examined, the background in Contacts and background in theme are the same, and Nokia in firmware 110 for E71, E66 made the same causing inconvenience
As for my opinion, previous always white background in Contacts looked better

some of my iphone contacts got deleted automatically after few days from my contacts..not all but some contacts..i saved the same contact many times but after one or two days it got deleted automatically..please help me...

We have 2 iPhone 4s's
One of them has the default account option and one of them doesn't, they are both running the same update

Contacts deleting automatically

Last Month i have restored my iPhone with iOS 5, since then my contacts get deleted automatically. I also updated with the latest iOS i.e. 5.1 just to ensure that might be a software glitch but still i am facing the same problem. Apple please look into the matter as i am ****** off with this new OS 5.x.

How to stop Iphone from adding United States to my contact list automatically

I don't know why, but most of the time when i add a phone number to my Iphone 4 contact list, it automatically added United States to the country for Home, other and Work. It is so annoying. Anybody knows how to stop the phone from doing that? I have my regional settings set as Hong Kong, but it still does it.

Skype contactss deleted automatically

My Account is manu8767.
My skype contact were deleted automatically. Day before yesterday all were just fine. Now Yesterday when i check during the day none of the contact is getting displayed. In chat history it showing chats but when i do click on any of the chat for that particular contact on top of screen it showing "Add to contacts".
I Checked my account is not hacked as well as i have changed my password.
Can any one please help me out to get my all contacts in list back.

Sounds very simular to my experience starting yesterday.
Windows version 7 pro.
Skype version 7.4.64.102.
After a Windows update and reboot yesterday, I found my contact list is blank. I always keep the setting to show ALL contacts. After some quick investigations I have found:
If I change this setting to show skype contacts, the screen is blank
If I change this setting to show all contacts, the screen is blank
I am still getting notifications someone came online, although I cannot see them in the contact list since it is blank.
I can go to the recent contacts and the screen will populate
I can change the contacts to only show online and the screen will populate.
Signing out and signing back in, doesn't change anything.
Rebooting the computer doesn't change anything.

I have had the phone for a week or two now and every now and again my contact list deletes several contacts, and I do not know why. It also on a number of occassions adds several contacts from my email account and I have no idea why? and to top things of, yesterday it duplicated most of my contact list. Is it something im doing by accident?

Turn on the spider mode as described in the manual. If you're not syncing in any way, you might have exceeded the limit of stored contacts.

When sending email messages from iPhone,iMac, or iPad, email address automatically added to my contacts list on iPhone. How do I trace this down and stop this auto addition of email addresses to my contacts list?

I am not sure what generates the email address as a contact, be it the iPhone or iMac. I use iCloud to sync up my contacts/address book. This appears to happen when I am using Mac Mail on my iMac, but I have no clue where to begin to look to stop this auto addition. I have looked in Mail preferences on my iMac and in my iPhone settings, but have found nothing that "automatically add email address to contacts list".
Can anyone provide guidance? Web search has been fruitless ( I am guessing I am not using the right key words for my search).

Iphone 4 automatically sending nuisance/ viral e-mail messages from my yahoo account to members of my phone/ e-mail/ facebook contact list. What can I do to stop this?

This has occurred on 2 different occassions. In both cases, I can not identify a viral email that I would have opened that could have started this as we are very cautious about opening unknown emails, and definately NEVER double click on links that come through in nuisance/ spam type e-mails.
This morning was the second time that it appears my iphone was somehow involved in automatically sending out a mass nuisance message to all my contacts (phone contacts/ facebook contacts/ yahoo contacts). The email contained no message - except for a single link to an unknown destination of course since I refuse to dbl click on it to see what I have sent out to my friends.
This is the second time it has happened. I have posted on facebook to all my friends to not open the message. I have deleted ALL my contacts from both my phone and from yahoo contact list. I even deleted facebook and all it's info. from my phone to remove their contact lists. I don't want this to keep happening to my friends. The only thing I haven't deleted is my phone contacts (phone numbers) but I am assuming it may very well happen again since the automatic message was also sent to my phone contacts. (Not sure how that even happens - an auto email to a phone number?)
I have been reading on this site that it is nearly impossible to get a virus on your iphone - however, what other explanation is there? I don't have a PC - I don't have any Windows products in my home. We own 1 ipad and 2 iphones at the moment. I never access my yahoo account from anywhere but my MAC products. What is happening and how can it be resolved?

if it's a message coming from your yahoo account, it means that your account has been compromised, not your phone itself. i would suggest changing the password for your email account

How do I delete an email address that is no longer in use nor it my contact list?

I keep getting email addresses automatically entered when I send email....they are no longer in use or changed,,,they do not show up on my contact list...how can I delete them??

As with the Mail app on a Mac, the iPhone's Mail app stores all email recipients in a list of previous recipients. The email address autofill feature when addressing an email pulls from Contacts and from the list of previous recipients.
Different from the Mail app on a Mac, there is no access to the list of previous recipients to add a previous recipient to Contacts that is not already entered in Contacts or to remove a previous recipient from the list - not at the present time anyway.

I'm having contacts problems. I just updated my iPhone 4S iOS to 6.0.1. And after that, I started having Contacts problems. My contact list is disappearing automatically, and I have to Import SIM everytime, to bring the contacts back.

It all started after updating my software to iOS 6.0.1. Contact problems, disappearing automatically, and I have to IMPORT SIM everytime when it happens, to bring my contacts back. And this is happening more when I'm using Whatsapp application. Every two hours using Whatsapp, my contact list is dissapearing, I'm seeing only numbers. I thought it was an Whatsapp problem, but after that, when I go into my Phone's contact list, I can see nothing ! Empty ! So I guess it's a software problem or something. Please help. Thank you.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

IOS contact lists revert to all when one contact is deleted

Running iOS 7.0.3 on mini. I have multiply contact lists as a result of syncing with our Exchange 2010 sp3 server. Was attempting to delete old contacts and each time I do all of my contact lists, including "suggested contacts" enable themselves. To be clear if I click on "groups" and then enable only one list to display, if I delete one contact from that list, iOS then enables all the lists and fills the contacts view with lots of extra addresses. I had this issue on 7.02 and 7.03. What is more odd is this does not happen on my 5S running 7.02. Both devices use same iCloud and Exchange accounts.

Check Settings>General>Date & Time>Set Automatically>On. Make sure that the time zone setting is also set correctly.
If that wasn't the problem, restart your iPad and try again. If that fails, reset your iPad and try again. Quit iTunes and restart your computer as well. Turn off your firewall and antivirus software when you attempt the update again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
